생물다양성 보존을 위한 전 지구적 노력과 생태계를 구성하는 주요 생물자원으로서 곤충의 기능․가치가 재조명받고 있는 상황에서 산림생태계의 건강성 증진을 위한 하나의 기능으로 생물적 방제인자에 관한 연구가 절실히 요구되고 있다. 그 일환으로 기생성 곤충의 발굴 및 그들의 유용성 검토, 토착해충․돌발해충․침입외래해충의 천적자원 탐색 및 인벤토리 구축, 식식성 해충의 피해가 심한 유충태를 방제목표로 한 기생성 천적의 탐색 등을 연구방향으로 설정할 필요가 있다. 또한, 기존 채집방법(포충망 및 유아등 이용)에서 전략적 다양화(숙주체 및 유인목 이용)를 통해 채집 종을 다양화하고, 특정해충에 대한 특정 천적 종(관련 정보)의 확보로 유용한 기생성 천적자원을 발굴할 수 있을 것이다. 한편, 기생성 천적 종의 다양성 확보를 위해서는 국내 소수 종 기록 분류군, 연구가 미진한 분류군, 미개척 분류군의 종 발굴사업 확대, 신진분류연구자 양성사업 지원, 국가적 차원에서의 곤충동정센터 설립을 제안해 보고자 한다.
저온플라즈마 처리양모의 산성염료염색에 있어서의 열역학적 고찰

Merino wool top was treated with low temperature plasmas of oxygen(O₂) and tetrafluoromethane(CF₄) for 180 seconds, and then dyed with C. I. Acid Orange 7 in buffer solution. From the equilibrium dye adsorption at 60, 70 and 80℃ for 24∼120 hours, Adsorption isotherm and saturation dye exhaustion was observated. In addition, thermodynamic parameters such as standard affinity, heat of dyeing and entropy were obtained from the saturation values. Dye exhaustions of low-temperature plasma-treated wools increased than that of untreated at any concentration, and the saturated dye exhaustion of treated specimens for untreated increased slightly. As the dyeing temperature was heightened, it was appeared that the affinity of C.I. Acid Orange 7 for wools was higher. Especially, the difference of the dye affinity between untreated and CF₄plasma-treated wool was larger. From the decrease of heat of dyeing for the plasma-treated wools compared to untreated, it was seemed that hydrogen bond or hydrophobic bond did not contribute to dyeing of wools treated with plasmas.
In situ hybridization과 염색체 미세해부에 의한 특정 염색체 띠에 대한 유전자 발굴

Recently surmountable amounts of genes are being cloned but it is hard to define the chromosomal location and functions of these genes. In this study, a new technique was developed for cloning genes expressed in the developing human brain with confirmed chromosomal location. The mRNAs were extracted from 18 week old human fetal brain, cDNAs were made by reverse transcription from these mRNAs and Uni-amp cDNAs having Uni-amp adapters a t both ends were made for subsequent PCR. To observe the distribution of the Uni-amp cDNAs on the chromosome, fluorescent in situ hybridization was performed with biotin labeled Uni-amp cDNAs. Among the chromosome bands showing strong hybridization with the cDNAs, lq21, lq25, lq32 and lq42 were microdissected from the chromosome hybridized with unlabeled Uni-amp cDNAs and amplified by PCR with Uni-amp primers. These amplified cDNA fragments were subcloned to plasmid vectors and the nucleic acid sequences were analysed. As a result 18 different clones were confirmed the chromosomal localization. They were categorized as 4 clones of well characterized genes, 3 clones showing low homology with known genes, 5 clones of simply registered uncharacterized human cDNAs, and 6 clones of unknown genes. The evidence suggests that the technique is very useful to clone the genes that express in the developing human brain, with confirmed chromosomal location. In addition, this cloning technique can be used to discover the new genes related with neuronal development in combination with functional screening method.

2012년 1월 31일 농림수산검역검사본부 영남지역본부 부산신항사무소에서 미국산 오렌지 생과실 화물을 검사하는 과정에서 Navel orangeworm, Amyelois transitella (Walker)이 검출되었다. 이 해충의 유충이 간혹 호두 과실 속에서 검출된 예가 알려져 있지만, 오렌지 생과실 속에서 검출된 경우는 처음이다. 여기서는 식물검역의 안전성을 보장할 목적으로 이 유충의 진단형질 및 미국산 오렌지 생과실에 대한 병해충수입 위험분석과 관련된 검출정보를 제공하고자 한다. Navel orangeworm, Amyelois transitella (Walker) was intercepted at the Korean port of entry. It was detected by an inspection for a consignment of fresh oranges from the USA by the Busan Newport District Office, Yeongnam regional office, Animal Plant and Fisheries Quarantine and Inspection Agency on January 31, 2012. This is the first time that the larvae of this pest species has been detected on fresh oranges, although it has been occasionally detected on walnuts. This report aims to ensure biosecurity by providing diagnostic characters to identify the caterpillars and conducting an imported risk analysis on fresh oranges from the USA.

러시아과학원 동물연구소(ZIN)에 소장된 북한산 바구미科 306개체의 표본과 헝가리자연사박물관(HMNH) 연구진에 의해 북한지역에서 채집된 467개체 표본에 대한 자료를 조사한 결과, 91種이 동정되었으며, 이들 중 Grypus mannerheimi Faust, Anoplus plantaris (Naezen), Anthonomus (Anthonomidius) dilutus Reitter, Cleopomiarus jakowlewi Faust, Sibinia annulifera Pic, Sibinia ussurica Korotyaev et Egorov, Earis scolopacea Germar, Scleropterus rubi Korotyaev, Cryptorhynchus fasciculatus (Roelofs), Shirahoshiro favonotatus (Voss), Shirahoshiro \ulcornerhiurai Morimoto, Cyriophthalmus variegatus (Motschulsky), Myllocerus (Myllocerus) alternanus Voss, Sitona amurensis Faust, Sitona tessettatus Korotyaev, Metadonus distinguendus Boheman, Lixus (Ortholixus) amurensis Faust, Lixus (Compsolixus) ochraceus Boheman, Coniocleonus cineritus (Gyllenhal), Coniocleonous schoenlferri (Gebler), Magdalis (Neopanus) cerasi (Linnaeus) 등 21종이 한반도에서 처음으로 보고되는 종으로 확인되었다. 이들 중 러시아 동물연구소 표본실에 소장된 종들에 대해서 성충의 형태적 특징과 사진을 게재하였으며, 그밖에 조사된 종들에 대해서는 북한지역의 분포상황을 밝혔다. Present paper deals with 773 specimens of family Curculionidae from North Korea that preserved in Zoological Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences (ZIN) and Hungarian Museum of Natural Science (HMNH). We identified 91 species, of which 21 species are new to the fauna of Korean peninsula. Newly recorded species from Korea are as follows: Grypus mannerheimi Faust, Anoplus plantaris (Naezen), Anthonomus (Anthonomidius) dilutus Reitter, Cleopomiarus jakowlewi Faust, Sibinia annulifera Pic, Sibinia ussurica Korotyaev et Egorov, Baris scolopacea Germar, Scleropterus rubi Korotyaev, Cryptorhynchus fasciculatus (Roelofs), Shirahoshiro favonotatus (Voss), Shirahoshiro \ulcornerhiurai Morimoto, Cyriophthalmus variegatus (Motschulsky), Myllocerus (Myzzocerus) alternanus Voss, Sitona amurensis Faust, Sitona tessellatus Korotyaev, Metadonus distinguendus Boheman, Lixus (Ortholixus) amurensis Faust, Lixus (Compsozixus) ochraceus Boheman, Coniocleonus cineritus (Gyllenhal), Coniocleonus schoenherri (Gebler), and Magdaiis (Neopanus) cerasi (Linnaeus). Descriptions and photographs of newly recorded species from Korea and distribution data of 91 species are provided.
