      • Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 Glucanhydrolase 함유 용액의 치은 섬유아세표에 대한 영향

        A novel glucanhydrolase from a mutant of Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 has additional amylase activity besides mutanolytic activity and has been suggested as promising anti-plaque agent. It has been shown effective in hydrolysis of mutan, reduction of mutan formation by Streptococcus mutans and removal pre-formed sucrose-dependent adherent microbial film and has been strongly bound to hydroxyapatitie. These in vitro properties of Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 glucanllydrolase are desirable for its application as a dental plaque control agent. In human experimental gingivitis model and 6month clinical trial. mouthrinsing with Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 dextranase was comparable to 0.12% chlorhexidine mouthwash in inhibition of plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation and local side effect was negligible. This study was aimed to evaluate the cytotoxic effect of Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 glucanhydrolase on human gingival fibroblasts. Primary culture of human gingival fibroblasts at the 4th to 6th passages were used. Glucanhydrolase solution was made from lyophilized glucanhydrolase powder from a mutant of Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 solved in PBS and added to DMEM to the final concentration of 0.5, 1, and 2unit. Cells were exposed to glucanhydrolase solution or 0.1% chlorhexidine and the cells cultured in DMEM with 10% FBS and 1% antibiotics as control. After exposure, the morphological change, cell attachmcnt. and cell activity by MTT assay were evaluated in 0.5, 1.5, 3, 6, 24 hours after treatment. The cell proliferation and cell activity was also evaluated at 2 and 7days after Iminute exposure, twice a day. The cell morphology was similar between the Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 glucanllydrolase groups and control group during the incubation periods. while most fibroblasts remained as round cell regardless of incubation time in the chlorhexidine group. The numbers of the attached cells in the glucanhydrolase groups were comparable to that of control and significantly higher than the chlorhexidine group. The numbers of the proliferated cells in the glucanhydrolase groups at 7 days of incubation were comparable to the control group and higher than the chlorhexidine group. The cell activity in glucanhydrolase groups paralleled with the increased cell number by attachment and proliferation. According to these results, Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 glucanhydrolase has little harmful effect on attachment and proliferation of human gingival fibroblasts, in contrast to 0.1% chlorhexidine which was cytotoxic to human gingival fibroblasts. Therefore this glucanhydrolase preparation is considered as a safe and promising agent for new mouthwash formula in the near future.

      • 임신 제 일삼분기와 제 이삼분기 초음파의 태아기형 진단의 유용성에 대한 고찰

        Objective: Ultrasonographic screening between 9 and 13 weeks for fetal structural abnormalities using transvaginal sonography in unselected population. Visualization of detailed fetal anatomy in the first trimester has improved as a result of technological progress in ultrasound machines and the introduction of transvaginal sonography(TVS). Our study aims to evaluate the accuracy of TVS as a screening tool for detecting fetal malformations in a nonselected population of pregnant women. For this purpose we compared the results obtained by using second trimesster TA scanning with those obtained using TVS at 9-14 weeks' gestation. Methods: From March 2001 to February 2003, 620 unselected consecutive pregnant women were recruited at their initial visit at Soonchunhyang university hospital, department of obstetrics and gynecology and offered a TVS scan at the average gestational age of 9-13 weeks in addition to the TA screening usually performed between 22-26 weeks. To fulfill the technical requirements of a screening test, ultrasonographic examinations were performed by skillful operators with different degrees of experienced using adequate instruments Aloka SSD 5500 (Aloka Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan) provided with either a 3.5-5MHz TA probe or a 5-7.5MHZ TV probe) in a fixed scanning time of maximum 30 min, generally considered sufficient for a complete fetal anatomic survey. Results: During the study period we found in our unselected population an overall prevalence of target abnormalities of 2.2%(24 malformed fetuses out of 600 screened). In the fetuses examined by TVS, 16 abnormalities were detected whereas 8 were not; of these, 6 were detected at transabdominal rescreening at 22-26 weeks and the remaining 2 were observed after birth. A nuchal region abnormality was the most frequent type of malformation detected in the early scan, including six cases of nuchal edema, two cases of cystic hygroma associated with hygroma associated with hydrops, three cases of hydronephrosis, one case of fetal neck teratoma, one case of cleft lip. Conclusion: This study has demonstrated the potential of screening a low risk population for fetal abnormalities at 9-13 weeks of gestation using transvaginal sonography and rescreened via transabdominal sonography at 22-26 weeks. Larger studies are required to establish the clinical value of the first trimester scan.

        Polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials has been used as waterproofing materials, e.g. for basement and water tank due to both simple handling and excellent workability. However, as for the polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials, the durability is easy to be degraded by the occurrence and propagation of crack. An aim of this study is to make clear performance of the polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials of which performances are improved through this study. PAE and EVA show the result to be markedly dependent on the condition and period of deterioration. Presence of reinforcement causes the influence to the physical properties of waterproofing materials. In addition, a reinforcement effect of non-woven fabric on cracking can be expected.

        A strengthening technique for reinforced concrete beams using external unbonded reinforcement offers advantages in speed and simplicity of installation over other, established, strengthening techniques. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the capabilities of a new retrofitting technique, namely external prestressing(Bow), for flexural strengthening of beams. The paper provides a general description of structural behavior of beams strengthened using the technique. Results of 2 physical tests on strengthened reinforced concrete continuous beams are reported and compared. It is shown that the technique can provide greater strength enhancement to lightly reinforced sections and that provision of deflectors enhances efficiency.

      • 공사중 도로점용에 따른 교통특성에 관한 연구

        도로운영과 관리의 효율성 측면에서 볼 때, 도로를 점용하여 공사를 시행하는 것은 차량의 소동 뿐만 아니라 안전문제와 밀접하게 관련되어 있다. 따라서, 도로점용공사구간의 부적절한 관리는 안전이나 운영의 악화를 초래하는 주된 원인이 될 수 있다. 최근 도로의 유지관리 개념의 중요성이 대두되어 도로의 유지보수 관련작업이 잦아지고, 도로 외적인 공공시설의 설치 작업이 빈번하게 발생하고 있어, 도로를 점유하는 경우는 앞으로도 증가할 것으로 예상되므로 이에 대해 체게적이고 합리적인 해결방안이 강구되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 공사 중 도로를 점유하는 유형을 분류하고 공사구간의 교통특성을 중심으로 도로점유유형에 따른 지체도를 분석하여 교통지체를 최소화할 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위한 기초자료로 활용하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

      • 地區內 街路의 事故類型에 따른 交通事故特性分析

        The purpose of this paper is to analyze characteristics of traffic accident in district roads. In this paper, outside variables are accidents type and we analyzed relationship between these outside variables and accident factors by Hayasi's Quantification Theory II. We used the accident data in Jung-Gu in Daegu, 2002. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The most effective factors in an accident type are "damage state", "distance from accident spot to arterial roads", "accident occurrence time", and "age of victims" and it's correlation ratio are 0.4532. 2) In the case of the relationship between age of victims and accidents type, many of children less than 14 age and old people more than 70 age are victims of pedestrian accidents. Therefore, we could point out that the policy for safety of children and old people is required primarily.

        주상골 골절에서 Herbert/Whipple 나사못의 바람직한 위치 : 모형연구 A Model Study

        목 적 : 주상골 골절 치료에 사용하는 Herbert/Whipple 나사못의 바람직한 삽입 위치를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 4개의 사체에서 분리한 주상골을 이용하여 각 주상골마다 12개씩 주물 모형을 제작하여 대상으로 하였다. 각 모형에서 핀 삽입 안내 장치(jig, Zimmer??)를 이용하여 안내핀(guide wire)을 원위부에서 근위부를 향해 삽입하되 원위부에 A, B, C, D의 4개 근위부에 0, 5, 10의 3개의 지점을 설정하여 총 12가지 방법으로 삽입하였다. 각 모형은 주상골의 장축에 직각인 방향으로 근위부, 요부, 원위부의 세 단면을 만들고 핀 삽입의 흔적과 가장 가까운 피질골 표면과의 거리를 측정하여 이 거리가 대적으로 길 때 안전한 것으로 평가 하였다. 결 과 : 핀 삽입의 흔적과 가장 가까운 표면과의 거리가 근위부에서는 D5, 원위부에서는 C10이 유의하게 길었다. 원위 삽입 위치를 기준으로 하였을 때 근위부에서 C가 유의하게 거리가 길었고 요부, 원위부, 그리고 근위 목표 지점을 기준으로 하였을 때의 측정된 거리는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 결 론 : Herbert/Whipple 나사못의 삽입 위치는 근위부 골절에서는 D5군, 원위부 골절에서는 C5군이 가장 바람직한 위치라고 할 수 있엇고 요부 골절에서는 A0군과 D0군을 제외하면 별 다른 차이 없이 비교적 안전하다고 할 수 있다. 바람직한 위치 선정을 위해서는 근위부의 목표지점보다 원위부의 지점을 정확히 하는 것이 중요하다고 사료된다. Purpose : To evaluate optimal placement of the Herbert/Whipple screw in scaphoid fracture Materials and Methods: Forty eight model molded from four cadaver scaphoids were used for this study. Using the Herbert/Whipple jig, the guide wire was placed distal to proximal into each scaphoid with twelve method which were four entry points and three target points. Guide wire placement was then evaluated with three planes in the proximal, middle, distal planes and distance from the nearest cortex. Results : The most concentric position in the proximal plane was D5, in the middle plane C10. As distal entry point, the most concentric position in proximal plane was C. There were no statistical concentric, as middle, distal plane, and proximal entry point, Conclusion : The most ideal placement were D5 in proximal fractures of the scaphoid, C5 in distal fractures. In waist fractures of the scaphoid, there were relatively safe, except A0 and D0. The position of entry points was more important than that of target points for ideal screw placement.

        최적 금형연마 가공을 위한 센서 정보 통합 전문가 시스템 개발

        This paper presents a polishing expert system integrated with sensor information which can modify the polishing sequence and conditions initially determined by the system depending on the on-site polishing status. A practical system using AE sensor to detect the on-line polishing status is developed for the rotational polishing and the smoothly curved sur-face. Database and knowledge base for polishing processes are established by using the results of experiments and also expert's experience. Evaluations are performed for a die of headlight lamp by using both the sensor integrated expert sys-tem and the expert system without sensor. The test results show that the sensor integrated expert system provides more optimal polishing conditions since the proposed system takes advantage of the on-line sensor information.
