원발성골림프종은 매우 드문 질환이기는 하나, 복합항암요법이나 방사선 치료등에 높은 반응율을 보이며, 좋은 예후를 가지는 림프절의 비호지킨 림프종의 일종이다. 그러나, 치료 효과 판정에 있어 골병변의 특이성에 의한 모호한 방사선학적 특징으로 어려움이 있어 왔다. 본 증례는 위와 같은 원발성골림프종 환자에서 PET 스캔을 사용하여 민감하게 완전 반응을 평가할 수 있었던 예로, 앞으로 다른 고식적인 방법과 함께 이 질환의 진단과 치료 평가 있어 유용하게 사용 될 수 있을 것으로 전망할 수 있었다. Purpose: Accurate assessment of the lesion after treatment of patients with bone lymphoma is difficult. In this patient who demonstrated complete remission after chemotherapy, the regions of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (^(18)FFDG)PET uptake diminished more rapidly following therapy, indicating a complete response at much earlier stage than did Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or CT based findings. With the conventional methods, such as MRI and CT. It was difficult to assess whether the residual tumor tissue was viable or not. Decision to complete response is very important in patients with ymphoma to plan the further treatment. We experienced a patient with primary lymphoma of bone who revealed complete response to chemotherapy on ^(18)FFDGPET while CT showed persistent destructive bone lesion. Thus, ^(18)FFDGPET study after therapy may be superior to CT in the evaluation of response to treatment in primary lymphoma of bone.
Agrobacterium을 이용한 고추의 형질전환체계개발

본 실험은 고추의 형질전환체 선발을 위한 최소의 항생제농도를 결정하고 그 결과를 이용하여 형질전환체를 유기하고 효율을 최대화하기 위하여 수행한 바 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 항생제 감응성 검정결과 kanamycin 40㎎/ℓ와 hygromycin 20 ㎎/ℓ에서 신초형성이 완전히 억제되었다. 2. Agrobacterium 제거에 사용되는 carbenicillin과 cefotaxime 처리시 재분화에 아무런 영향을 미치지 않았으며 cefotaxime 200㎎/ℓ 처리에서는 무처리구보다 신초형성이 더 활발하였다. 3. 회복친인 135Q와 276F에서는 형질 전환시 높은 재분화율을 보였으나 형질전환율은 각각 10%와 11.1%의 낮은 빈도를 보였다. 4. 재분화된 신초들을 대상으로 histochemical GUS assay를 실시한 결과 부분적으로 푸른발색이 확인되었다. 5. GUS활성을 보인 신초들에 대한 NPTⅡprimer를 이용한 PCR검정에서 NPTⅡ 유전자의 존재가 확인되었다. A transformation system using Agrobacterium tumefaciens was developed with different genotypes of hot peppers (Capsicum annuum). Four antibiotics commonly used in Agrobacterium-mediated transformation were tested for their effects on shoot regeneration. Shoot induction was completely inhibited by kanamycin at 40㎎/ℓ and hygromycin at 20㎎/ℓ or higher, but not by carbenicillin and cefotaxime. Cotyledon explants of hot peppers were cocultivated with Agrobacterium turnefaciens LBA4404 which carries a binary. vector pBI121 harboring the neomycin phosphotransferase, type Ⅱ (NPT Ⅱ) gene and β-glucuronidase (GUS) gene. For selection of transformed cells, 40㎎/ℓ kanamycin were used because the sensitivity test showed that 40㎎/ℓ kanamycin completely inhibited shoot induction from nontransformed cells. Histochemical GUS assay showed the presence of the GUS gene and PCR analysis confirmed the NP TⅡ gene was integrated. Transformation frequency was about 10.0% and 11.1% of total regenerants from 135Q and 276F, respectively.

<P>Low carbon steel plates were joined by friction stir spot welding (FSSW) with lap configuration. The tool penetration depth exerted a strong effect on the failure mode of the joined samples and a weak effect on the joint shear strength. With increasing tool penetration depth, and consequently with increasing depth of the tool shoulder pressing into the top sample, the failure mode in a lap-shear test changed from brittle to ductile and concentrated near the pinhole located away from the weld towards the base metal. No mechanically mixed layer was formed between the top and bottom plates at the weld nugget due to the limited tool penetration and the fact that the pin height of the welding tool was less than the steel plate thickness. The region under the pin exhibited a fully recrystallized microstructure, with grain growth and a different texture.</P>

<P>Joints of galvanized steel were obtained by friction stir spot welding (FSSW) with lap configuration using CPS design tool. No mechanically mixed layer was formed between the top and bottom plates at the weld nugget due to the limited tool penetration and the lower pin height of the welding tool than the steel plate thickness. A deformed region, in which ZnO particles were detected, was observed in the joint. The formation of this deformed region was attributed to the explosion of the Zn coating layer due to friction heating and tool compression. With increasing tool penetration depth, the tensile shear strength of the joint increased to a maximum value of 3.07 kN at a tool penetration depth of 0.52 mm.</P>

오염총량관리제 시행 및 지류살리기 종합계획의 일환으로 시행된 영산강 수계 지류·지천모니터링 지점에 대해 8일 간격 및 월 1회 측정된 수질과 유량자료를 이용하여 평가하였다. 본 연구에서는 영산강 본류의 주요 지천인 풍영정천에 미치는 지류·지천의 배출특성을 관측부하지속 곡선을 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 수질인자들의 상관관계 분석에서는 전형적인 도심하천의 특성이, 풍영정천의 지류 배출특성에서는 점오염원보다는 비점오염원에 영향을 더 받는 것으로 나타났다. 풍영정천의 수질관리를 위해서는 생활하수와 지류 주변의 농촌지역에 유입된 유기질 등의 오염원의 감소가 필요할 것으로 판단된다. As parts of Total Maximum Daily Loads(TMDLs) and comprehensive plans for tributary restoration, water quality on tributaries were enforced in Yeongsan river watershed. Water quality and flow were monitored and evaluated at intervals of 8 days and once a month as basic data. In this study, discharge characteristics of tributary to the impact of the Pungyoungjeong stream, the main tributary of Yeongsan-River, were analyzed and evaluated by using load duration curve. As a result, the correlation of water quality factors was characteristics of urban stream typically and discharge characteristics of tributary were affected by non-point sources rather than point sources. It was necessary to be reduced pollution sources such as domestic sewage and inflowing organic matter from non-point source of rural area for Pungyoungjeong stream management.
A Case of Composite (Mixed) denocarcinoma-Small Cell Carcinoma of the Stomach

A composite (mixed) tumor is defined as a glandular-endocrine cell carcinomas characterized by an intricate admixture of both elements in the same lesion. The histogenesis of this tumor is not clear but is considered to be multidirectional differentiation from pluripotential stem cells. The clinical findings are local symptoms due to mass and systemic symptoms due to paraneoplastic syndrome. The prognosis is considered to be very poor because of a high incidence of vasculo-lymphatic invasion and markedly deep infiltration of small cell carcinoma (SCC) of this composite tumor. Treatment has not been established clearly yet, but treatment with regimens specific for SCC of the lung may be used because the biologic and clinical characteristics of gastric SCC are similar to those of SCC of the lung. We encountered a 70-year-old man with pain to the back and both elbows for 20 days on July 22, 2002. Esophagogastroduodenoscopic biopsy revealed a superficially well differentiated adenocarcinoma and a deeply located. poorly differentiated SCC in the same lesion of the stomach, along with multiple bony metastases. We treated the patient with a chemotherapeutic regimen (etoposide and carboplatin) and palliative radiotherapy. The patient complained of sustained abdominal pain and poor oral intake and he died about 5 months later.
