        Inkjet‐Printable Nanoporous Ag Disk Arrays Enabling Coffee‐Ring Effect‐Driven Analyte Enrichment Towards Practical SERS Applications

        To make surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensors more practical, we propose nanoporous Ag disks as SERSactive plasmonic structures that can be readily inkjet-printed just before use to avoid degradation of SERS enhancement. Together with the aid of the enhanced plasmonic fi elds from the nanoporous Ag (confirmed by electromagnetic simulation), we utilize a coffee-ring effect to concentrate target analytes, which is demonstrated by confocal Raman measurements. By using the proposed SERS sensor, Raman signals of TiO 2 nanoparticles with a concentration of ppm to sub-ppb have been successfully measured. TiO 2 in commercial consumables has been also detected by distinguishing its crystalline phase.

      • 슬라이딩 모드 제어를 이용한 능동 전력필터 시뮬레이션

        In this paper a sliding mode approach is developed to control a three-phase three-wire voltage source inverter operating as a shunt active power filter. A good dynamic response, robustness, and stability are obtained with this control strategy. The active filter is composed by six-switch voltage fed three-phase inverter. The active filter is controlled by sensing the filter current and capacitor voltage using sliding mode control. Simulation results show the validity of the performances considerde theoretically for the compensations required by the shunt active filter.

      • 심한 정신병적 증상을 나타낸 전신성 홍반성 루푸스 3례

        전신성 홍반성 루푸스(systemic lupus erythematosus, 이하 SLE)는 원인을 알 수 없는 자가항체 및 면역복합체로 인하여 여러 장기의 손상을 초래하는 질환이다. SLE의 신경정신의학적 증상에 대하여는 1872년 Kaposi에 의해 처음 기술되었다. 이때에 나타나는 임상적 양상은 상당히 다양하여 정신증, 우울증, 뇌졸증과 인지기능장애등을 포함한다. 이들은 종합적인 정신과적 평가를 위해 종종 협의진료가 의뢰되고 있다. SLE의 정신병적 증상은 환자의 사망률을 높이고 좋지 않은 예후를 시사하는 지표가 될 수 있기 때문에 조기 진단 및 치료가 요구된다. 그러나 SLE의 중추신경계 침범에 대한 명확한 진단기준이 마련되어있지 않고, 증상의 다양성과 변동성은 진단을 더욱 어렵게한다. 저자들이 경험한 심한 정신병적 증상을 보인 SLE 3례의 경우, 이들은 지남력 장애, 환시, 환청, 망상, 불안정한 기분을 보였고 자주 충동적이 되거나 난폭해져 자신 또는 타인에게 위험을 초래할 수 있었다. 현재까지 SLE의 정신병적 증상에 대하여 잘 알려져 있지는 않지만, 문헌고찰을 통해 발병기전, 분류진단, 임사양상, 치료등에 대하여 알아보았다. Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) is a disease of unknown etiology in which multiple organs are damaged by pathogenic autoantibodies and immune complexes. Neuropsychiatric manifestations in SLE were first described by Kaposi in 1872. These are so diverse that they include psychosis, depression, stroke, seizure and cognitive dysfunction etc.These patients are frequently consulted for psychiatric evaluation. Neuropsychiatric manifestations in SEL re also among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality and associated with poor long-term outcome. So it is essential to recognize and intervene these symptoms early. But the clear diagnostic criteria for CNS involvement in SLE have not been formulated, and diversity and fluctuation of illness make it difficult to confirm it. The authors reported three cases of SLE with severe neuropsychiatric manifestation. These patients showed symptoms such as disorientation, auditory and visual hallucibation, delusion and mood instability. They became frequently impulsive and violent and had risks to injure themselves or others. Although CNS involvement in SLE is not well known, we reviewed the pathogenesis, classification, diagnosis, clinical manifestation and treatment of them.

        전위된 관절내 원위 요골의 관절경을 이용한 고정술

        목적: 전위된 관절내 원위 요골 골절에 관절경을 이용한 정복술과 경피적 K 강선 및 외고정기기를 이용한 수술법의 결과를 알아보고자 함이다. 대상 및 방법: 2001년 1월부터 8월까지 수술한 11명 12예를 대상으로 하였으며, 평균 추시 기간은 14개월 이었다. 골절의 형태는 AO 분류에 의하면 1예는 B3형, 4예는 C2형, 7예는 C3형 골절이었다. 전예에서 2.7㎜ 관절경을 이용하였으며 추가적인 관혈적 정복은 시행하지 않았다. 경피적 K 강선 고정술 후 외고정 기기를 사용하였다. 관절내 골연골 골편을 제거하였으며 추가적인 수근 골간 인대와 삼각 섬유 연골 손상의 적극적인 처치는 없었다. 고정물 제거 시기는 경피적 K 강선은 술후 4주, 외고정 기기는 7주에 시행하였다. 결과: 평균 수근 관절의 신전 및 굴곡은 정상의 72%였다. 평균 요측 길이는 12.3 ㎜, 전방경사는 5.7°, 척측 경사는 22.4°였다. 평균 관절면의 불일치는 1㎜였다. 술후 구획 증후군의 발생은 없었으며 치료 중 골절 함몰 소견은 없었다. 임상적으로 Gartland와 Werley의 평가에 의하면 8예에서 우수, 3예에서 양호, 1예에서 보통의 결과를 얻었다. 결론: 관절내 분쇄 골절의 치료에서 관절경을 이용한 관절면 정복술은 수술적 연부 조직을 최소화하면서 관절면을 비교적 정확하게 정복함으로 관절면의 불일치를 감소시켜 손상 후 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있는 효과적인 방법으로 사료된다. Purpose: To investigate the result of arthroscopically assisted reduction of intraarticular fracture of distal radius with percutaneous K-wires and external fixation. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 12 intraarticular distal radial fractures of 11 patients treated arthroscopically assisted reduction in Orthopedic Department of Sung-Ae hospital between January, 2001 and August, 2001. The mean length of follow-up was 14 months. Analysis of them revealed that B3 was 1 case, C2 4 cases and C3 7 cases according to the AO classification. All cases were treated by 2.7 ㎜ arthroscopic devices and percutaneous K-wires pining with external fixationg, but additionally invasive reductional technique was not used. We removed the osteochondral flap but not treated. The K-wires were removed at 4 weeks, external fixation was 7 weeks, respectivley. Result: The mean active range of movement in the affected wrist was total arc of the flextion-extension 72% of the opposite side. Radiographically mean volar tilt, radial inclination and radial length compartment syndrome and fractures collapse were not occured during follow-up period. According to the Gartland and Werley demerit-point system, eleven cases were a excellent or good one was a fair result. Conclusion: Arthroscopically assisted fixation is a useful method for reducing the soft tissue injuies and preventing the articular surface incogruency by anatomically reduction un cases of intraarticular comminution.

      • 흡연에 의한 급성 호산구성 폐렴 2예

        최근 흡연을 시작한 젊은 성언에서 급성 호산구성 폐렴의 발생에 대한 증례가 보고되고 있다. 급성 호산구성 폐렴은 대개 발열을 동반하기 때문에 초기에는 감염성 폐렴으로 잘못 진단, 치료되는 경우가 많다. 아직 정확한 병태 생리 및 조직학적 소견은 밝혀져 있지 않지만 병력 청취 및 임상 양상, 방사선 소견의 관찰을 통해 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 의심하고, 진단을 위해 기관지 폐포 세척액 검사를 시행한다면 좀 더 쉽게 진단 내릴 수 있을 것이다. 본 저자들은 최근 처음 시작한 흡연에 의해 발생한 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 진단하고, 스테로이드를 투여하여 성공적으로 치료한 환자 2예를 경험하였기에 이를 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute eosinophilic pneumonia(AEP) is characterized by acute febrile respiratory illness associated with diffuse pulmonary infiltration and pulmonary eosinophilia. The specific etiology for acute eosinophilic pneumonia is elusive. By some investigators, cigarette smoking is suggested as a causative substance which can cause AEP. In recent, the authors experienced two cases of AEP following cigarette smoking. Both cases had characteristic features including age around 20 years, new onset smoking before occurance of AEP, diffuse infiltration on chest radiography, pulmonary eosinophilia based on bronchoalveolar lavage and acute improvement after steroid therapy. These clinical features are resemble with previous smoking induced AEP case reports. Base on these clinical features, cigarette smoking associated AEP could be diagnosed more easily.

        Rate capability for Na-doped Li<sub>1.167</sub>Ni<sub>0.18</sub>Mn<sub>0.548</sub>Co<sub>0.105</sub>O<sub>2</sub> cathode material and characterization of Li-ion diffusion using galvanostatic intermittent titration technique

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Spherical Li<SUB>1.167</SUB> <SUB>−</SUB> <I> <SUB>x</SUB> </I>Na<I> <SUB>x</SUB> </I>Ni<SUB>0.18</SUB>Mn<SUB>0.548</SUB>Co<SUB>0.105</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> (0⩽ <I>x</I> ⩽0.1) particles were prepared by spray pyrolysis, and subjected to electrochemical characterization for lithium battery applications. It was confirmed that Na doping enhances the charge/discharge rate capability. The structure of prepared samples was characterized by XRD: the <I>c</I>-axis lattice parameter increases with increase in the amount of Na ions (parameterized by <I>x</I>, above). The Na-doped sample with <I>x</I> =0.05 shows capacities of 208 and 184mAhg<SUP>−1</SUP> at high current densities of 1.0C and 2.0C, respectively. These values are enhanced, compared to values of 189 and 167mAhg<SUP>−1</SUP> for the bare sample. The ratio of the capacity at 1.0C to that at 0.1C is enhanced from 77% for the bare sample to 84% for the Na-doped sample with <I>x</I> =0.05. The Li diffusion coefficients obtained from the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT) are higher for Na-doped samples than for the bare sample. In particular, the Na-doped sample (<I>x</I> =0.05), in the potential range around 4V, has a higher <I>D</I> <SUB>Li+</SUB> value of 3.34×10<SUP>−9</SUP> cm<SUP>2</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP>, compared with 1.35×10<SUP>−9</SUP> cm<SUP>2</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP> for the bare sample. The Na-doped samples (0< <I>x</I> <0.075) show high capacity retention: the Na-doped sample (<I>x</I> =0.05) shows a capacity retention of 92% compared to 83% for the bare sample.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Spherical Na-doped Li-rich cathode material prepared by spray pyrolysis. </LI> <LI> Na-doped samples show better rate capability than that of bare sample. </LI> <LI> Na-doped sample has higher <I>D</I> <SUB>Li+</SUB> value at 4V compared with that of the bare sample. </LI> <LI> The cycle performance was enhanced from 83% to 92%. </LI> </UL> </P>

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Transition metal oxides are very promising electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries that operate through conversion reactions. Energy densities for conversion reactions are higher than for intercalation reactions, but most of transition metal oxides show poor cycling performance and reversibility due to the pulverization of active materials and subsequent volume changes. We here report a facile and scalable synthesis for realizing Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB>-coated Fe/Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> hybrid nanocomposites in the form of one-dimensional nanofibers (C@Fe-Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>/Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB> hybrid NFs). This is a new class of highly-reversible and safe anode material that can significantly reduce the lithium-ion diffusion length and improve strain tolerance during Li ion insertion/extraction. Its oxidation state was also impressively controlled through a carbothermal reaction during annealing. The precise oxidation state control of C@Fe-Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>/Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB> hybrid NFs simultaneously enabled high capacity due to the conversion reaction of Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> as well as high reversibility and stability resulting from zero-strain characteristics and superb kinetics of Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB>. This new electrode material appears promising for not only future energy systems but also various electronic devices.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> C@Fe-Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>/Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB> hybrid NFs showed extremely stable cyclic retention, which enabled to realize a full cell based on transition metal oxides anode for the first time. </LI> <LI> Its mechanical flexibility, electric conductivity and thermal stability were surprisingly enhanced. </LI> <LI> This enhancement was attributed to zero-strain feature of Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB>, and the evolution of Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12-δ</SUB> and metallic Fe. </LI> <LI> This novel hybrid composites showed a synergistic effect thanks to high capacity of Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>, high thermal and structural stability of Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB>, and the improved kinetics from dexterous oxidation state and morphology control. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>An effective strategy to significantly boost the structural stability and electrochemical performance of Fe<SUB>3</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> nanoparticles through the embedment in Li<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB> nanomatrix was successfully demonstrated despite its extremely irreversible conversion reaction.
