      • COMMON SOFTWARE FOR ANALYSIS OF NOISE IN OPTICAL FIBER COMMUNICATION

        In this paper, we propose a mathematical model for analysis of noise in optical fiber transmission system. A practical common software is designed for noise simulation by computer with this model. Based on reference 2, the software is proved useful and effective in analyzing their relative contributions of various noise sources to system performance. This provides important theoretical basis for system design and application.

        A native Trichoderma harzianum strain Th62 displays antagonistic activities against phytopathogenic fungi and promotes the growth of Celosia cristata

        Trichoderma spp. are widely applied, eco-friendly mycofungicides and plant growth promoters. Native Trichoderma strainsare likely to have more productive, stable biocontrol and biofertilizer activities since they are well adapted to the local environment. In this study, we isolated a native Trichoderma strain ‘Th62’ from the rhizosphere soil of wild Chelidonium majusplants in Harbin, China (126.6341°E, 45.7242°N). The isolated Trichoderma strain was identifi ed as a T. harzianum strainvia morphological observation and molecular methods based on the rDNA internal transcribed spacer region and elongationfactor-1α gene sequences. Signifi cant antagonistic activities of Th62 against fi ve soil-borne fungal phytopathogens,Fusarium oxysporum , Sclerotinia sclerotiorum , Alternaria alternata , Cytospora chrysosperma, and Rhizoctonia solani ,were confi rmed by dual-culture assays. Furthermore, the crude fermentation products of Th62 also displayed antifungalactivities against these fi ve pathogens. To evaluate the function of Th62 as a biofertilizer, we subsequently applied Th62on cockscomb ( Celosia cristata L), a plant species with both ornamental and medicinal values, by inoculation with Th62conidia at diff erent concentrations, 1 × 10 10 cfu mL −1 , 1 × 10 11 cfu mL −1 , and 1 × 10 12 cfu mL −1 . The benefi cial eff ects ofTh62 were evaluated by measuring the growth and photosynthetic traits of the inoculated cockscomb plants, and the resultsdemonstrated that Th62 signifi cantly improved the photosynthetic effi ciency, photosynthetic capacity, and the adaptabilityto intense light of the inoculated cockscomb plants compared to the controls. Consistently, Th62 inoculation signifi cantlyimproved the growth and fl ower yield of cockscomb. We presented a positive case of isolating and applying native microbialresources on local plantation practices.

        Genetic Diversity and Geographical Differentiation of Desmodium triflorum (L.) DC. in South China Revealed by AFLP Markers

        High levels of genetic variation enable species to adapt to changing environments and provide plant breeders with the raw materials necessary for artificial selection. In the present study, six AFLP primer pairs were used to assess the genetic diversity of Desmodium triflorum (L.)DC. from 12 populations in South China. A high percentage of polymorphic loci (P=76.16%) and high total gene diversity (HT=0.310) were found, indicating that the genetic diversity of D. triflorum is high at the species level. Genetic diversity was also relatively high at the population level (P=55.85%, He=0.230). The coefficient of gene differentiation among populations (GST) was 0.255, indicating that while most genetic diversity resided within populations, there was also considerable differentiation among populations. AMOVA also indicated 24.29% of the total variation to be partitioned among populations (ΦST=0.243). UPGMA clustering analysis based on genetic distances showed that the 12 populations could be separated into three subgroups: an eastern, a western, and a central-southern subgroup. However, a Mantel test revealed no significant correlation (r=0.286, p=0.983)between the geographical distances and genetic distances separating these populations; mountain barriers to gene flow and human disturbance may have confounded these correlations. The present study has provided some fundamental genetic data that will be of use in the exploitation of D. triflorum.

      • 한국 서비스무역의 패턴과 한,중 서비스무역의 상호보완성 분석

        The purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of Korean welfare attitudes. For this, panel data from 2nd wave(2007) data from Korea Welfare Panel Study (KoWePS), is used. The results show that negative evaluation of government`s social policy, economic status and welfare experiences affect on aspects of the welfare attitude investigated in this study. It can be said that the basis to demand welfare expansion exist in Korea. However It is impossible to construct developmental welfare state because of the weak reliability of government`s social policy. Considering the motive and the budget limit of welfare state, Korean welfare development should be headed for the universal welfare state instead of welfare for the poor, as public welfare experiences make people in all classes support public welfare. 이 논문은 한국복지패널(Korea Welfare Panel Study) 2차년도(2007) 조사의 부가조사인 “복지인식조사” 자료를 사용하여 한국인의 복지인식 결정요인을 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기존 연구에 포함된 계층, 성, 연령, 교육수준, 공공복지수급 경험, 경제활동 참여 상태와 새롭게 정부정책평가와 거주 지역을 변수로 설정하여 투입한 결과, 공공복지확대 지지도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 정부정책평가도, 경제활동상태, 공공복지수급 경험이 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 성, 연령, 교육수준, 거주 지역, 소득계층 등은 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 보편주의 방식의 복지 확대로 복지서비스 수혜대상이 전 국민에게 확대된다면 공공복지 확대 지지도를 높일 수 있다는 측면에서 복지지출을 확대하여 대다수 국민들에게 공공복지 경험을 체득하게 함으로서 공공복지 확대 지지를 견인하고, 높은 공공복지 확대 지지의 사회적 합의를 바탕으로 다시 높은 수준의 복지 체감도를 확산시키는 선순환의 고리를 만들어 나가야 한다는 정책적 시사점을 던지고 있다. 또한 정부의 복지정책 신뢰도를 높이는 것이 국민복지 부담을 설득할 수 있는 사회적 합의를 도출하는 지렛대임을 발견할 수 있다.

        A new macro-micro dual drive parallel robot for chromosome dissection

        This paper presents a parallel-structure system dually driven by six servo motors and six piezoelectric actuators. Due to the combination of macro and micro manipulators which are both of orthogonal structures, the proposed system possesses a concise structure as well as actuation isolation and output motion decoupling properties. By using a glass needle mounted on a six-dimensional force sensor in endpoint operating, this system can be applied to chromosome dissection that to make the whole process more efficient and automatic. The glass needle tip has a stroke of 106 mm in three linear motions and 18.7-arc-degrees in three angle motion directions, with servo motors adopted. It also has the resolution of 20 nanometers with the adoption of piezoelectric actuators. The kinematics, isotropy, decoupling and design considerations of the proposed robot are discussed. Workspace and resolution of both macro and micro manipulators are measured separately. The experiments are also conducted to show its capability in dissecting chromosomes.

        Effects of Neodymium and Calcium on the Thermal Stability of AZ71 Magnesium Alloys

        The effects of an addition of 0–2 wt% Nd on thermal stability of 0–3 wt% Ca-containing modified AZ71 magnesium alloyswas investigated. The ignition temperature was found to increase from that of AZ71, 574, to 825 °C with the addition of0.5 wt% Ca and 1 wt% Nd. The ignition temperature was further increased to 1114 °C when 3 wt% Ca was added. The CaandNd-added AZ71 was isothermally maintained at a temperature of 500 °C in air for 12 h. The MgO–CaO–Nd2O3 formedon the surface to improve the thermal stability of the AZ71–xCa–yNd alloys. While both the tensile strength and ductilitydecreased with the Ca concentration in the alloy, an addition of 1 wt% Nd was found able to alleviate the degradation effectsof Ca on the tensile strength and ductility at 170 °C. Both solid solution formation and precipitation strengthening contributedto the increase in toughness. AZ71 containing 0.5–2 wt% Ca and 1 wt% Nd provides the optimum combination of ignitionresistance and mechanical properties.

        한국 서비스무역의 패턴과 한,중 서비스무역의 상호보완성 분석

        한국은 중국의 중요한 무역상대국 국가이며 한중의 서비스무역발전에 따라 양국의 무역관계는 점진적으로 강화되어 왔다. 본 논문은 2000-20007년 한국 서비스무역의 EBOPS의 분류표에 따라 한국에서 서비스무역의 분업패턴과 비교우의의 우월성 및 한중 서비스무역의 상호보완성 방면을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구에서는 한국의 다양한 종류별 서비스무역의 전문화 정도와 전반적인 비교우위의 우월성을 밝히고 있다. 산업내 무역규모는 보편적으로 높게 나타나고 있으며, 안정적인 발전과 함께 한중 양국의 서비스무역은 상당한 상호보완성을 보이고 있다. Korea is Chinese major trading partner, with the development of services trade, the bilateral trade relations gradually strengthen. Using EBOPS service trade data ranging from 2000 2007, this paper empirically analyzes the specialization patterns and revealed comparative advantage of Korean service trade, as well as the complementarities of Sino korean bilateral service trade. The empirical results indicate that the degree of trade specialization and revealed comparative advantage for most Korean service sectors are comparatively low while inter industry trade dominates in most cases. Although the Sino Korean service trade as a whole exhibits mild complementarities, and with a relatively slow development.
