Cell growth and pigment productivity of Monascus anka KCCM 11832 and Monascus sp. has isolated from the Korean Maeju(soybean koji) were determined for effect of culture medium composition and incubation conditions. Increase of NH₄NO₃, and KH₂PO₄ concentration as mineral source promoted mycelium growth, and the highest cell growth was showed in the medium with 0.05% KH₂PO₄ when C/N ratio is 20:1, but pigment production was significantly inhibited at higher concentration than this level. Cell growth and pigment production in porato dextrose medium were higher than those in czapeck-dox broth and malt extract medium. In terms of temperature, the highest cell growth was showed at 34℃, but pigment productivity was the highest at 26℃.

의암호에 서식하는 재철(Corbicula fluminea)을 실험재로로 하여 생식세포형성, hermaphrodite에 의한 성비의 계정성 그리고 이에 따른 반새의 변화와 정확한 산란시기를 밝히고자 조직학적 방법에 의한 견구 조사를 실시하였다. 총 118개의 개체중 female 32개체(27.1%), female-hermaphrodite 75개체(63.5%)hermaphrodite 32개체(2.5%), male-hermaphrodite 7개체(5.9%), male 1개체(0.4%)로 전체적으로 female의 경향이 높았다. 산란은 2월과 3월에 난을 방출하는 난생의 형태이고 7월이후 11월까지 glochidia를 방출하는 난태생의 형태를 나타내었다. 外半?(outer-demibranch)가 보육낭으로 이용될 수도 있으나 內半?(inner-demibranch)가 주로 보육나으로 작용하였다. 수관 분리는 주로 inner-demibranch에서 나타났고, 산란시기에는 많은 개체가 수관이 분리되어 있었다. Corbicula fluminaea, one of two species in the family Corbiculidae living in the Lake Uiam was used as an experimental material. This research was done in order to deon in order to identify and describe the visceral sex. the demibranch morthology, and the seasonal gonad activity. The sexuality of C. fluminea was male, male-hermaphrodite (with a preponderance of testicular tissue over ovarian tissue), hermaphrodite (with approximately equal amount of male and female ponadal tissue), female-hermaphrodite (with a preponderance of the ovarian tissue), and female. The non-marsupial demibranch (namely, outer 2 in females and female-hermaphrodite, two in males and males and male-hermaphrodites) was divided by the secondary sept that in males and male-hermaphrodites) was divided by the secondary septa that produced secondary watertubes, resulting in triparitite organization. But, the outerdemibranch of all kinds has exhibited feebly the triparitite organization. In this species larvae were produced over two extended time periods, one in spring(oviparity) and one in fall (dvoviviparity).

There exists a major impediment to learning electricity which may illuminate why direct presentation of scientists' ideas is too aggressive a strategy. This impediment lies in thinking that electricity is used up and in envisaging the light bulb as a consumer. This view is based on a powerful idea which summarises much of our experience; it declares that 'things get used up', 'you cannot get something for nothing', and 'intuitive thinking'. To replace this view with scientific view, we made the analogy model. It is suggested that the analogy model is more effective in teaching electricity circuits than conventional teaching method.

Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia(CEP) is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by chronic infiltration of the lung with eosinophils. It presents with profound systemic symptoms comprising fever, night sweats, weight loss, dyspnea and blood eosinophilia with nonsegmental air-space consolidation confined to the outer third of the lung, the "photographic negative of pulmonary edema". Histopathologic features of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia are intraalveolar and interstitial infiltrations with eosinophils, histiocytes, giant cells, scattered lymphocytes and plasma cells. Glucocorticoid therapy cause prompt resolution of symptoms as well as disappearans of blood eosinophils, elevated serum Ig E levels and the roentgenographic lesions. Infrequent radiographic findings include nodular infiltrates, consolidations, cavitations, atelectasis and pleural effusions. Deaths from CEP although rare, have been reported, but the majorities of CEP have benign courses and do not need a therapy with ventilator. We report a case of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia, which had a sudden course associated with diffuse pneumonic consolidations on the both lung and bilateral pleural effusion.

With the development of mechatronics technology in the transporter industry, the electric power assisted steering (EPAS) system has many advantages compared to the hydraulic system. Many manufacturers are developing and applying EPAS systems to improve the performance of the transporter. Using the HILS system developed in the paper, an adaptable EPAS system was developed for real transporter. It was installed in a real , KIA Rio, and tested. Results indicated outstanding performance. Therefore, the developed EPAS can be applied via HILS system.

This study was conducted to evaluate the bactericidal effects of organic acids(acetic acid, citric acid, lactic acid and propionic acid) and antimicrobial agents(chlorine dioxide, oxidized water, reducted water and grapefruit seed extract) on five pathogenic microorganism ( E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella enteritidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeuroginoa, Bacillus cereus) for the purpose of extending the shelf-life in vacuum-packaged chilled pork. Oxidized water and grapefruit seed extract showed the most effective bactericidal agents in this study and organic acids had a good effect on killing Salmonella enteritidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeuroginoa, Bacillus cereus exception with an E. coli O157:H7. The effect on reducing microbial number increased according to organic acids' concentration (0.5%"`2%) but made a little difference according to treatment time (10 sec, 30 sec, 60 sec). Lactic acid had the most effect on reducing microbial number on surface of chilled pork (10"`100 times reduction). These results suggested that organic acids such as lactic acid can be used washing agent on carcass (1.5% concentration, >10sec treatment) for extending the shelf-life in vacuumpackaged chilled pork.
