        정상 한국인에서 연령증가에 따른 혈장 Dehydroepiandrosteronesulfate ( DHEA-S ) 농도 및 DHEA - S / cortisol 비의 변화

        Backgroud: DHEA-S is the most abundant steroid hormone in circulation, and primarily secreted from the adrenal cortex, but its physiological role is little known. One of the characteristic features of DHEA-S is progressive decrement of plasma DHEA-S level with advancing age, in contrast, plasma levels of other adrenal hormones are not chaging or littie decreasing. To grasp the trends of plasma DHEA-S level and DHEA-S/cortisol ratio by age in healthy Korean, we measured the plasma DHEA-S levels and DHEA-S/cortisol ratios in healthy Korean. Methods: Healthy Korean(men: 99, women: 102, age range: 15-97 year old)were studied. Subjects were not taking drugs(such as glucocorticoid or androgenic medication) or cigarettes known to modify the plasma level of DHEA-S and cortisol, and had no evidence of hepatic, renal disease or hyperlipidemia as determined by serum lipid, bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, BUN, creatinine. Data were analyzed by 10-year age group for men and women: i.e, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40- 49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89 and 90 year or more. Plasma DHEA-S levels were measured by using a commercially available RIA kit with 125I labeled-DHEA-SO4(Coat-A Count DHEA-SO4), and for the measurement of plasma cortisol levels, commercial Gamma Coat TM[125I] Cortisol Radioimmunassay Kit was used. Results:. 1) In both men and women, plasma DHEA-S level showed high interindividual variation within the same age group. 2) There were individual sex differences in plasma levels of DHEA-S, in all age groups, plasma DHEA-S levels were significantly higher values for men than for women. 3) Maximum plasma DHEA-S levels(men; 237+-3.35 ug/dL, women; 108+-17.5 ug/dL) were at third decade in both men and women. 4) Both men and women showed the continuous decline in plasma DHEA-S level with age. These age-related decline was more prominent in men than in women(men; y= -3.152 * +292.6, r2= 0.8459, P$lt;0.05, women; y= -1.417 * +143.3, r2 = 0.7278, P$lt; 0.05). 5) As an index of aging, there was no stastical difference between DHEA-S and DHEA- S/cortisol ratio. Conclusion: In healthy Korean, there were high interindividual variation of plasrna DHEA-S levels. In both men and women plasma DHEA-S level was peak at third decade, and from when it declined progressively with age. These results suggest that although the reliability of single plasma DHEA-S measurement are limited, the decline of DHEA-S with advancing age might be a specific marker of endocrinologic hormonal milieu(aging index). Also, concerning to individual adrenal secreting capacity, we measured DHEA-S/cortisol ratio. But we did not found that plasma DHEA-S/cortisol ratio is superior to the plasma DHEA-S level as an aging index. (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 12:245-254, 1997)

        Demand and supply of industrial water in Chonju area is analysed. Because the industrial water is not enough for the drought period, many factorys at the Chonju industrial technology services center are damaged in 1994. Industrial water of the area is taken at Chon-mi intake field. But the intake rate is decreased by 2.4% per year due to silting and compaction of the a quifer port. Therefore the intake rate is not enough to supply the damand of water the center. In this study, The water from seqage treated id wuffested as an alternative for sev-ere drought period. The alternatives for a long time period are suggested : the j-oint operations of Ku-I reservoir and Ockjung reservoir, Da-a reservoir and Kum river barrier reservoir, Da-a reservoir and Young-dam reservoir.

        생석회의 재탄산화에 의한 내수화성 향상에 관한 연구

        Recarbonization experiments of lime produced from rotary kiln had been performed to improve the hydration resistance of lime in the air. From recarbonization and hydration experiments, it was found that the amount of hydrated lime was greatly reduced by coating the surface of lime with CaCO_3 of about 6 wt%. The effect of reaction temperature and partial pressure of carbon dioxide on the recarbonization rate of lime was investigated by a thermogravimetric analysis method. Rate equation for the recarbonization of lime was derived from the thermogravimetric data at various temperatures.

      • 원발성 유방암에서 p53 단백발현과 예후와의 상관성에 관한 연구

        p53 is a nuclear phosphoprotein which is normally expressed at very low level in all mammalian cells and plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation. It has also been suggested that normal p53(wild type) serves as a tumor suppressor gene, and inhibits the oncogene-mediated cellular transformation and the rate of cellular proliferation. But, wild type p53 is hardly stained by immunohistochemistry because of its low intracellular concentration and very short half-life. Mutant form of p53 protein is detectable in various human malignancies e.g. colon, stomach, lung and breast cancer by immunohistochemical stain because of its prolonged half-life. In breast cancer, p53 protein expression has been regarded as an unfavorable prognostic factor, but the results of studies about the relationship between the p53 protein expression and prognosis are equivocal. So, author performed this study to evaluate the prognostic significance of p53 expression in 54 patients with primary breast cancer who underwent surgical treatment at Wonkwang University Hospital from October 1985 to September 1991. Follow-up period was 24-91 months (mean: 54.7months). p53 protein was stained by immunohistochemical methods in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues using monoclonal antibody(DAKO-p53, DO-7). The prognostic significance of p53 protein was evaluated by positivity and 5-year survival rate, and comparing with well-known prognostic factors of breast cancer. p53 protein was expressed 48.1%(26/54) of primary breast cancers. 5-year survival rate of patients with p53 protein expression was 42.0%, and that of patients without p53 protein expression was 76.4%(p = 0.0277) There was no relationship between p53 protein expression and tumor size, lymph node metastasis, histologic grade or vascular invasion. These results suggest that p53 protein expression is another independent prognostic factor in primary breast cancer.

        This study has been focused on the development of shear forming process of grid for lead-acid battery. The grid plays an important role in the flow of electricity because the grid is a skeleton of the pasted plate. Therefore, it must be of the highest quality to prevent plate failures and then, battery failure, and ensure the best battery performance possible. The finite element analysis of the shear forming process is carried out and the result is compared with the experimental data. The influence of the numerical parameters such as clearance, velocity of punch and critical damage value on the simulation results turns out to be very considerable.

        SD를 이용한 공공 프로젝트의 지체요인 분석

        The purpose of this study is to find what causes make public projects hold off, going beyond the planned deadline and budget. Using System Dynamics(SD) and their derivative Urban Dynamics(UD) models, it intends to analyze major feedback loops based on VENSIM and to simulate them with STELLA software, all of which are interrelated with various causes of project delay. To prevent or ameliorate project delay, first of all it advises to focus on endogenous delaying factors not exogenous ones. These factors either reinforce of balance certain loops in complex causal structure, In the case example on the Cremation Building Project in Cheongju, Residents' participation demand make negotiation put off and delayed negotiation reinforces administrative-expediency planning in order to observe a time limit, on the other hand, once building consensus, it increases both the level of planning performance and public trust. In the meantime, the real planning process used to neglect residents opinions and manage public grievance only through compensation. As a result of simulation, visible fruit of negotiation in the initial phase seems to be not satisfactory owing to funds and time consumed, but after reaching an mutual agreement among stakeholders, planning performance is effective and strategic that administrative-expediency planning viewed in both financial and time angle. It proposes to devise specific tools schematizing project implementation. In order to upgrade the quality of project management, it recommends for planners to adopt key concepts based on SD/UD diagrams and causal loops, which would contribute to enriching planning assets.

        The major objective of this study is to analyze the water balance of the reservoirs in the Chonju area which the system of usage is very complicated. The water buget for the selected drought years is estimated. The monthly inflow of the reservoirs are calculated by Kagiyama method. According to the results of the water buget calculation, the supply of the water is usually satisfactory except during the drought years. For drought seasons, the small scale tributary water requirement and supply of water is considered to be unbalanced within the tributary basin itself. Therfore, water demand of the chonju area must be satisfied by use of the return flow and the water diverted from Geum river or Sumjin River Basin.

        고카라트 Au-Zn-Pt 합금의 등온시효경화 거동

        The isothermal age-hardening behavior of a high carat Au-Zn-Pt alloy was investigated by means of hardness test, X-ray diffraction study, microscopic observation and electron probe micro analysis. By the isothermal ageing of the solution-treated specimen at 300∼400℃, the hardness increased slowly at the initial stage of ageing and reached a maximum hardness values at 300∼400℃ was similar and suitable to use as the crown & bridge. By the isothermal ageing of the solution-treated specimen at 300∼400℃, three phases of the Au-rich α_1 phase with face-centered cubic structure,the Pt_3Zn a_2 phase with an ordered AuCu_(L1_2) type(f.c.c) and the Pt-rich a_3 phase with face-centered cubic structure were transformed into three phases of the α_1 phase, the α_3 phase and the PtZn β phase with an ordered AuCu I(L1_0) type. The hardening seemed to be attributed to the lattice strains of the matrix resulting from the transformation of the a_2 phase to the β phase. The overageing with softening was attributed to the coarsening of the nodule precipitates which seemed to be composed of the β phase and α_1 matrix.

      • Sol-gel법을 이용한 미세공 실리카 세라믹의 기공구조 변화에 관한 연구

        솔-젤법에 의하여 제조된 미세공 실리카 세라믹에 대하여 N₂-adsorption isotherm 및 TEM에 의하여 기공구조 변화를 조사하였다. Group 1, 2 및 3의 경우 물의 양이 각각 11, 5.5 및 3.8mole까지는 급격히 surface area의 증가를 보이다가 그 이후에는 완만한 상승을 보이는데, 이것은 앞의 실험에서 보인[4.5]gelation time 및 FT-IR의 실험결과와 일치하는 것이다. 서로 다른 물의 양에 대하여 BET surface area와 Cumulative surface area의 차이가 Group 1서 Group 3으로 옮아감에 따라 커지는 것은 용매의 양은 감소하는 반면 TEOS의 양 증가로 인하여 물과 TEOS의 반응이 원활하지 못한 결과로 덜 발달된 polymer에 기인한 작은 particle에 의하여 형성된 작은 기공들에 기인한 것으로 사료된다. 이와같은 기공구조는 TEM의 결과에 의하여 확인할 수 있다. Group A에서 E쪽으로 갈수록 물의 양의 증가에 기인하여 surface area는 증가하며, Group a에서 d쪽으로 갈수록 물의 양의 감소에 기인하여 surface area는 감소한다. N₂-adsorption isotherm and TEM were used to investigate the micro-porous silica ceramic prepared by sol-gel process to find the structural changes of pores. In the case of Group 1, 2 and 3, the drift of the surface area increased steeply till the amount of water 11, 5.5 and 3.8 moles individually and after that showed increased smoothly. It is the same results as the gelation time and the FT-IR[4.5]. It is the reason that the differences of BET and Cumulative surface area become larger proportionally as moving from Group 3 that the reaction of water and TEOS is less active, caused by using decreased quantity of water but increased TEOS, and therefore the smaller pores by the smaller particles were formed. It was identified by TEM. The surface area is increased by the increased water as moving from Group A to Group E, and decreased by the decreased water as moving from a to e.

      • 중학교 체육수업시 수행평가 실행에 대한 학생들의 의식 분석

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effective plans of performance assessment from an analysis of students' positive and negative perceptions, expectant mode on performance assessment in middle school physical education class. Participators of this study were 275 middle school students from purposive sampling. The contents of this study consisted of positive perceptions, negative perceptions, and expectant mode on physical education performance assessment. And the data was inductively examined through four steps. The conclusions of this study were as follows. The positive perceptions' dimensions of physical education performance assessment were 6 categories; (l)the upgrade of participant intention (2)the progress of motor-performance (3)the assessment of individual's differences (4)the assessment of various factors (5)the effective management of classes (6)the others. The negative perceptions' dimensions of physical education performance assessment were 5 categories; (1) psychological stress (2)insufficient exercise time (3)excessive assessment's criterion (4)the insufficient management of classes (5)the others. And the plans of physical education performance assessment were 5 categories; (l)the proposals of suitable assessment's criterion (2)the proper selection of events (3)the perfect management of classes (4)the assessment of various factors (5)the others. Consequently, middle school students who are doing physical education performance assessment participate intentionally in a class and progress the motor-performance, but they experience psychological stress and insufficient exercise time. Therefore, the future of physical education performance assessment should be carried out four factors; the proposals of suitable assessment's criterion, the proper selection of events, the perfect management of classes, and the assessment of various factors.
