        Characterizations of Modified Silica Nanoparticles(I)

        (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) was used as a silylation agent, and modified silica nanoparticles were prepared by solution polymerization. 2.0 g of silica nanoparticles, 150 ml of toluene, and 20 ml of MPTMS were put into a 300 ml flask, and these mixtures were dispersed with ultrasonic vibration for 60 min. 0.2 g of hydroquinone as an inhibitor and 1 to 2 drops of 2,6-dimethylpyridine as a catalyst were added into the mixture. The mixture was then stirred with a magnetic stirrer for 8 hrs. at room temperature. After the reaction, the mixture was centrifuged for 1 hr. at 6000rpm. After precipitation, 150 ml of ethanol was added, and ultrasonic vibration was applied for 30 min. After the ultrasonic vibration, centrifugation was carried out again for 1 hr. at 6000rpm. Organo-modification of silica nanoparticles with a ${\gamma}$-methacryloxypropyl functional group was successfully achieved by solution polymerization in the ethanol solution. The characteristics of the ${\gamma}$-mercaptopropyl modified silica nanoparticles (MPSN) were examined using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, THERMO VG SCIENTIFIC, MultiLab 2000), a laser scattering system (LSS, TOPCON Co., GLS-1000), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, JASCO INTERNATIONL CO., FT/IR-4200), scanning electron microscopy (SEM, HITACHI, S-2400), an elemental analysis (EA, Elementar, Vario macro/micro) and a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA, Perkin Elmer, TGA 7, Pyris 1). From the analysis results, the content of the methacryloxypropyl group was 0.98 mmol/g and the conversion rate of acrylamide monomer was 93%. SEM analysis results showed that the organo-modification of ultra-fine particles effectively prevented their agglomeration and improved their dispensability.

        간질환환자의 위내용물 배출시간에 관한 연구

        N/A Gastric emptying time(GET) is influenced by several factors, such as neura), hormonal and composi- tion and physiochemical properties of food. The patients with delayed GET have some upper gastrointestinal symptoms such as recurrent nausea, vomiting, postprandia! Bloating, anorexia, and iveight loss. And also, almost of acute hepatitis and a part of chronic ]iver disease patients have similar symptoms of the patients with delayed GET. Therefore We performed GET measurement in liver disease patients to identify the relationship between nonspecific upper gastrointestinal symp- toms and gastric emptying function. The resu]ts are as followings; 1) Total ]iver disease patients are 28 in number, composed of acute hepatitis 3, chronic hepatitis 18, liver cirrhosis 7. 2) The GET(T1/2) of liver disease patients was delayed significantly than that of the normal volunteers. (Mean+SE;120.8+6.6 vs 89.4+5.9 mins.) 3) The GET of the symptomatic patients (N = 20 ) ivas 128.3+6.8 mins (Mean+SE), and that of the asymptomatic patients (N =8) was 101.8+13.2 mins. The symptomatic patients have delayed GET in 10 patients and asymptomatic patients have delayed GET in 3. 4) The GET of the patients who have elevated serum transaminase level higher than twice of normal is delayed significantly than that of the patients who have serum transaminase level lower than twice of normal.       • 와인딩 공정에서 접압롤의 동특성에 관한 연구

        In a web winding process, the contact roll plays many important roles in air entrainment control and WIT(Wound In Tension) regulation. The behavior of the contact roll significantly affects the winding tension characteristics specifically at the time of contact and separation when the tangential velocities of contact roll and winding roll are not synchronized. A new mathematical model which includes the behavior of the web tension, the winding roll, the carriage and the contact roll is derived for the control of the winding tension. By using the model derived, a non-linear PID(NPID) controller is designed to control the winding tension at the time of contact and separation between the contact roll and the winding roll. Computer simulation study showed that the performance of the winding system with the NPID controller was significantly improved compared with that of a system with PID controller.

      • ^(7)Li, ^(87)Rb과 ^(27)Al NMR을 이용한 (K_(1-x)Li_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6), (K_(1-x)Rb_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6)와 K_(2)SnCl_(6):Al^(3+)의 상전이 근처에서의 결정 동력학 연구

        K_(2)SnCl_(6)는 antifluoride계에 속하는 결정으로서 K_(2)SnCl_(6)에 Li^(+)를 첨가하여 ^(7)Li 핵자기공명(NMR)을 측정하여 동형(isomorphic) 혼합결정(K_(1-x)Rb_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6)와 비동형(nonisomorphic) 혼합결정 K_(2)SnCl_(6):Al^(3+)에서의 핵자기공명(NMR), ^(87)Rb NMR과 ^(27)Al NMR의 측정값과 비교하였다. Rb^(+) 이온은 K_(2)SnCl_(6)의 K^(+)이온을 대신해 동형 결정을 이루며, Al^(3+)이온은 Sn^(4+)이온을 대치하면서 비동형 결정을 이루는데 Li^(+)이온 또한 K^(+)이온을 대신하는 동형 혼합결정과 유사한 결과 값을 얻을 수 있었다. 이 연구 결과는 종래의 Cl-NQR 연구 결과와 비교함으로서 K_(2)SnCl_(6)의 동력학적 특성과 구조 상전이 근처에서의 임계현상을 새로운 관점에서 볼 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다. ^(7)Li, ^(87)Rb and ^(27)Al NMR have been investigated in the isomorphic and nonisomorphic impurity doped crystals (K_(1-x)Li_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6), (K_(1-x)Rb_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6) and K_(2)SnCl_(6):Al^(3+) as a supplementary to the previous Cl NQR studies in these crystals. The results yielded that the features of NMR spectra for both types of crystals are roughly in line with the systematic trends shown in the Cl NQR in these crystals, though the outstanding characteristics exhibited in the Cl NQR become in the case of the NMR of the doped impurities in crystals somewhat weakend. This is due to the degradation of the role of the local field from the main hamiltonian in NQR to the subsidiary in NMR. Each NMR result of the iso/nonisomorphic crystals has been analyzed in terms of the 'impurity induced dynamic lattice defects' for K_(2)SnCl_(6):Al^(3+) and the 'static primary impurity effects' for (K_(1-x)Rb_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6) and (K_(1-x)Li_(x))_(2)SnCl_(6) respectlvely.

      • 우울증 환자 치료에 있어서 Tianeptine과 Sertraline의 효과와 안전성 비교

        연구목적: 주요 우울증의 치료에 있어서 티아넵틴과 써트랄린의 임상적 효과와 안정성을 비교하기 위하여 연구를 시행하였다. 방법: DSM-IV 진단 기준에 의거하여 주요 우울증의 진단기준에 부합되고 17항목 해밀턴 우울척도 점수가 14점 이상인 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 총 40명의 환자를 무작위적 방식에 따라 티아넵틴 치료군과 써트랄린 치료군으로 분류하였다. 선탠된 환자에서 다른 항우울제를 복용하고 있는 경우 7일 이상의 약물 배설기간을 가진 후 티아넵틴과 써트랄린을 각각 6주간 투여하였으며, 기준점, 1주후, 2주 후, 4주 후, 6주 후에 HAM-D, MADRS, 그리고 CGI, COVI 등을 사용하여 평가하였다. 본 연구기간 중 발생된 모든 부작용은 부작용의 발생 및 소실 시기, 심한 정도, 발생 빈도, 관련 조치 및 결과에 대하여 증례기록서에 기록하도록 하였다. 결과: 30명(티아넵틴군 15명 ; 써트랄린군 15명)이 6주간의 연구를 완결하였고 티아넵틴 치료군에서는 1일 37.5mg을 투여하였으며 써트랄린군에서는 1일 평균 64.0±22.5mg을 투여하였다. 본 연구 결과 HAM-D, MADRS, CGI 상에서 두 군 모두에서 치료 1주 후부터 유의한 감소를 나타내었으며 이는 2주 후, 4주 후, 6주 후에도 지속적인 감소를 보였고 두 군간에 항우울 효과의 차이는 없었다. 활력징후, 일반 혈액학, 생화학, 심전도 검사 등에서는 두 군 모두 유의한 변화는 없었다. 티아넵틴과 관련된 부작용으로 흔히 보고한 증상은 오심(33.3%), 복부 불쾌감(26.7%), 구강 건조(20.0%), 두통(13.3%)등 이었고 써트랄린 치료군에서는 구강 건조(53.3%), 두통(46.7%), 오심(33.3%), 그리고 식욕 부진(33.3%)등으로 티아넵틴군에서 보다 적은 발현빈도를 보였다. 결론: 티아넵틴은 우울증의 치료에 있어서 효과적이고, 내약성이 우수한, 안전한 항우울제이다. Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tianeptine and sertraline in the treatment of patients with depression. Method: The study was done on the patients with major depression diagnosed by DSM-IV, who had aHamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAM-D) score ≥ 14 on the first 17 items of the HAM-D. A total of 40 patients were randomly assigned to tianeptine group and sertraline group. Tianeptine and sertraline were prescribed to each group. 6 weeks of each medication was carried out after 7 days of drug excretion period. Evaluation using 17 item HAM-D, Montgomery and Åsberg Depression Rating Scale(MADRS), Clinical Global Impression Scale (CGI), and Covi Scale was done on the baseline and after 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks. Regrding all side effects that had occurred during the period of our study such as their developed/disappeaed time, severitien, incidences, managements and results have been recorded. Results: A total of 30 patients(tianeptine group 15 ; sertraline froup 15) finished the 6 weeks of research. 37.5mg of the daily dose was regularly prescribed to the tianeptine group, the average amount of 64.0±22.5mg of the final daily dose was prescribed to the sertraline group. Total 17 item HAM-D scores, total points of MADRS and CGI showed significant decrease after 1 week in each treatment froup and continous decrease after 2, 4 and 6 weeks ; and no difference was found between tianeptine group and sertaline group in the antidepressant efficacy. Also there were no significant changes in vital sign, CBC, chemistry, and EKG in each treatment group. The common reported side effects of tianeptine were nausea(33.3%), epigastic distress(26.7%), dry mouth(20.0%), headache(13.3%) and those of sertraline were dry mouth (53.3%), headache(46.7%), nausea(33.3%), anorexia(33.3%). Conclusion: According to the results, tianeptine was effective in improvement of depressive symptoms and was well tolerated and safe in patients with depression.

      • 쌀, 조, 수수 및 콩의 食餌가 흰쥐의 成長 및 血液性狀에 미치는 影響

        쌀, 조 수수, 및 콩의 식이가 흰쥐의 성장 및 혈액 성상에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여, 평균체중 180g의 Sprague-Dawley계 rat(♂) 각 5마리씩을 대조군(T_(0)), 쌀(T_(1)), 조(T_(2)), 수수(T_(3)), 콩(T_(4))급이군등 5개군으로 나누어 실온에서 6주간 사육하면서 사료섭취량, 급수량, 증체량과 6주후의 혈액상의 변화틀 조사하였다. 사료 섭취량은 대조군이 각 처리 실험군보다 높았으며 물의 급수량도 동일한 결과이었으며 그 순위는 쌀, 조, 콩, 수수 순으로 감소하였으며, 각 처리군의 증체량은 대조군 보다 낮았으며, 특히 수수는 초기보다 감소하였고, 각 처리군의 사료효율은 대조군보다 낮았으며 특히 수수처리군이 타 처리군보다 낮았다. 연액성상의 변희는 대조군에서는 큰 변화가 없으나 수수군에서 BUN, HOT지 다른군보다 높았으며 쌀의 처리군은 creatinine치가 높았고 조에서는 혈당치가 낮았으며, 콩에서는 LDH는 높았고, HGB, HCT, PI.T, RBC가 낮았고, 특히 콩 수수에서는 혈액상의 변화가 가장 컸으며 다른 실험군과 비교하였을 때 통계적인 유의성이 인정되었다. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of rice, millet, sorghum and soybean diet on the growth rate, daily intake feed ratio and change in hematology of male rats. The experimental male rats of 180g average weight were fed on control (T_(0)), rice (T_(1)), millet (T_(2)), sorghum (T_(3)) and soybean diet (T_(4)) for 6 weeks. The amount of daily feed and water intake supply in each diet group is higher than that of control group to as shown in the following order: rice, millet, soybean, sorghum. The growth ratio of each diet group is lower than that of control group. Especially, sorghum made each diet group reduce the weight even more than the initial weight. Control group is lower than each diet group in regard to the effective ratio of feed. Especially, the sorghum group is lower than other groups. Control group remained same in the change of hematology, however, sorghum group is higher than other groups for BUN, HCT. Rice group is higher in creatinine and millet group is lower in glucose content of serum than any other groups. Soybean group is higher in LDH but lower in HGB, HCT, PLT, RBC than control group. Especially, the soybean and sorghum groups showed a big change in hematology and had the statistic significance in comparison to other groups.

        5년간 시행된 인공치아매식술에 관한 일차보고

        We experienced 152 endosseous implant surgery and prosthodontic restoration with edentulous jaw for 5 years from Mar. 1990. to Oct. 1995. 422 fixtures were implanted. the ratio of male to female was 1.38 : 1 and the range of age from 16 to 74 years. Most dominant group was 41 to 50 years group(36%). In our study, implant success rates showed 96% in mandible and 92% in maxilla. The major causes of implant failure of primery osseointegration(75%), overloading(15%), neurologic problem(5%), psychologic problem(5%).

        사람 뇌척수액중 Transthyretin의 항산화작용

        Protective effects of human cerebrospinal fluid antioxidants against enzyme inactivation caused by metal-catalyzed oxidation systems were investigated. When purified glutamine synthetase(GS) was incubated with human cerebrospinal fluid(CSF), the enzyme was progressively inactivated. Catalase and EDTA could inhibit the enzyme inactivation by 50-80%. Small-molecular(Mr< -10,000) fraction of CSF inactivated the exogenous GS, but large-molecular(Mr> -10,000) fraction did not. The GS inactivation by the small-molecular fraction was also markedly inhibited by catalase and EDTA. These results suggested that metal-catalyzed oxidation is involved in the GS inactivation by the small-molecular fraction of CSF. Dithiothreitol(DTT) was shown to inhibit almost completely the oxidative inactivation of GS by CSF. However, DTT inhibited only partially the oxidative inactivation of GS caused by small-molecular fraction of CSF. When large-molecular fraction of CSF was separated by anion-exchange HPLC chromatogrpahy, there was a peak of antioxidant activity inhibiting the small-molecular fraction-induced GS inactivation in the presence of DTT. The antioxidant activity was neutralized by monoclonal antibodies to transthyretin. Purified transthyretin was found to efficiently inhibit ascorbate/Cu^(2+)-induced GS inactivation in the presence of DTT. Uric acid and glucose did not show any protective effect on the GS inactivation in the same condition. The above results suggest that metal-catalyzed oxidation occurs normally in human CSF, and that transthyretin may play an important role as a CSF antioxidant in protecting proteins from metal-catalyzed oxidation.

        대전광역시 양축농가의 축분뇨 관리 실태 및 VOCs 농도 조사

        This study was carried out to investigate the style of livestock house, concentration of malodorous substances of livestock feces and livestock houses in Daejeon area. Among the livestock houses investigated, as most of cow pens(94.5%) have sawdust or chaff on the bottom, there was no leakage of feces out of pen. Most pig pens adopted slury style, but some of them currently use buffering material on the bottom. It is thought that there will be no possible contamination leakage. When it comes to hen house, all the broiler house use litters on the bottom and all the layer house use scrapper. It is also thought that there will be no possible contamination leakage. 3 out of 12 deer pens used buffering material on the bottom, 10 places were maintained in a traditional method, and 7 places left possibility of contamination leakage considering whether the roof was installed or not. The contents of ammonia, amine and volatile fatty acid in fresh feces were lower compared to rotten feces, but the concentration of sulfur-containing matter - hydrogen sulfide, methylmercapthan and ethylmercapthan were higher compared to rotten feces. In the case of malodorous ingredient in livestock houses, only small amount of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide were detected in pig pen and hen house, and other ingredients were not detectable. And those who are engaged in animal husbandry reacted negatively to the use of feed additives for decreasing malodor. In conclusion, it is not worrisome that contamination can be leaked out of animal raising facilities. But if we take into consideration that the point of investigation time is wintry season, there should be more considerate attitude. And feed additives for decreasing malodor need establishing criteria in the manufacturing process.
