장애아동 어머니의 양육스트레스와 심리적 변인들 간의 관계 : 자아탄력성의 조절효과 검증 = (The)relationships between psychological variates and parenting stress of the mothers with handicapped children : role of ego resiliency|RISS 상세보기

The present study aimed to examine the effects of the daily living activity of handicapped children on mother's parenting stress, depression, and psychological well-being, search for the mothers' psychological resources alleviating and controlling the depression and psychological well-being caused by mother's parenting stress, and then find out the psychological variates by which such symptoms or features occur.
One-hundred and ninity pairs of the handicapped child and his mother were responded on the questionnaire in Yeosu, Busan, and Kyeongnam province.
Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient and Multiple regression were conducted to examine the relations among the variates. Structural equation modeling analysis was conducted to testr hypothesis. Besides, hierachical multiple regression was conducted to test moderating effect of ego resiliency.
The major findings of this study are as follows:
First, it turned out that the stress positively related to mother's depression, while it negatively related to psychological well-being. The daily living activity of handicapped children turned out negatively related to mother's parenting stress.
Second, mother's ego-resiliency had moderating effects on the relation between mother's parenting stress and depression.
Third, among the sub-factors of mother's problem-solving appraisal, self-confidence of problem-solving and self-control significantly predicted to ego-resiliency, that is, those who have a high level of self-confidence of problem-solving and self-control
The findings of this study, therefore, reconfirmed the necessity of support to relieve mother's parenting stress of handicapped children's mothers. Especially, ego-resiliency is the psychological resource to moderate unpleasant mood so as to prevent depression in spite of such a stressful situation of handicapped child parenting. It is expected that appropriate problem-solving appraisal can improve ego-resiliency in this regard, and hereby the implication of this study is to pave the road for consultation with handicapped children's mothers and educational intervention strategies. Lastly, the suggestions, limitations, and the necessity of follow-up studies were presented.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장애아동의 생활수행능력이 장애아동 모의 양육스트레스와 우울, 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 모의 양육스트레스와 우울 및 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 자아탄력성이 조절역할을 하는지 알아보고, 자아탄력성을 예측하는 변인을 살펴보고자 하였다.
이를 위하여 여수, 부산, 경남지역의 장애전담어린이집을 이용하는 아동과 어머니 310명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 그 중 254부가 회수되었으며 190부가 분석에 사용되었다. 분석은 변인간 관계를 분석하기 위하여 Pearson의 적률상관계수를 산출하였고, 변인간의 영향력을 알아보기 위해서 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 또한 연구 모형의 검증을 위하여 공변량 구조분석을 하였으며, 조절효과를 검증하기 위하여 조절적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애 아동 모의 양육스트레스와 우울, 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계를 공변량 구조분석을 통하여 확인한 결과 모의 양육스트레스는 우울에 정적으로 영향을 미치고 심리적 안녕감에는 부적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 아동의 생활수행능력은 모의 양육스트레스에 부적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 모의 자아탄력성은 양육스트레스와 우울간의 관계에서 조절효과가 있었다. 즉 자아 탄력성은 모의 양육스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향을 완화시키는 효과가 있었다. 셋째, 모의 문제해결방식의 하위요인 중 문제해결자신감과 개인통제력은 자아탄력성을 유의하게 예측했다. 즉 문제상황에서 문제해결자신감이 높고 개인통제력이 높은 사람이 자아탄력성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.
이상과 같은 결과를 통하여, 장애아동 어머니의 양육스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향력을 확인함으로써 양육스트레스를 감소시키기 위한 방안의 필요성을 알게 되었다. 특히 본 연구에서 자아탄력성이 장애아동의 발생과 양육에 따른 어머니의 양육스트레스로 인한 우울을 완화시키는 역할을 함을 확인하고, 문제해결 자신감과 개인통제력 향상을 통해 자아탄력성을 증진시킬 수 있을 것으로 예상되어, 장애아동 어머니의 상담과 교육적 개입 전략을 세우기 위한 기초를 마련했다는데 그 의의가 있다하겠다. 끝으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점, 후속연구의 필요성 등을 제안하였다.
