Background : The reported incidence of early gastric cancer located in the upper portion of the stomach has been increasing with the recent advances in its diagnosis and screening. Recently, we have successfully performed laparoscopic assisted proximal gastrectomy and gastric tube reconstruction without pyloroplasty on three patients with early gastric carcinoma localized to the upper third of the stomach. We describe our modification of this procedure in this report. Method : After creating an surgical pneumoperitoneum, the stomach was mobilized using laparoscopic coagulating shears. Upper half of the greater curvature and three-quarters of the lesser curvature were then dissected along with regoinal D2 lymphadenectomy. This was followed by a 5 cm, longitudinal mini-laparotomy in the upper abdomen, and the construction of the exteriorized stomach with a gastric tube measuring 20 cm long and 4 cm wide. Reconstruction with an esophagogastrostomy was performed using a circular stapler. Result : No post-operative morbidity or mortality was observed in this small series of patients. The average operative time was 250 minutes (range 220-300 minutes), and the average blood loss was 150 ml (range 90-180 ml). The mean number of lymph nodes harvested during these laparoscopic proximal gastrectomies was 24 nodes (range 22-25 lymph nodes). The average postoperative hospital stays was 7.5 days (range 7-8 days). Conclusion : Our technique of laparoscopic assisted proximal gastrectomy and gastric tube reconstruction without phloroplasty offers a minimally invasive technique with the potential of impoving the post-operative quality of life patients with an early-stage proximal gastric cancer.

1) As a result of compressive strength experiment, rupture compressive strength showed more increases in specimens of 15% and 20% of Cockle shells in those of non-mixture. Comparing compressive strength between no-mixed Specimens and Specimens of containing Cockle shells, Specimens containing Cockle shells showed higher strength in 60 days of age, and as ark Cockle is contained and age is elapsed, compressive strength is also increased. 2) To sum up the above experimental results, it is found that using splitted Cockle shells as aggregate for concrete by 10% - 20% showed the same or higher compressive strength and shear strength as concretes using general aggregate and it can be used as substitute aggregate of concrete. It is considered that for future use of splitted Cockle shells as substitute concrete aggregate, continuous researches of its durability, applicability and economy are needed.

This study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of disinfection by-products formation potential (DBPFPs) of dissolved organics. Dissolved organics in raw water were separated into two fractions ((1) hydrophilic and (2) hydrophobic) for the measurement of DBPs. Three types of DBPs (trihalomethanes (THMs), haloacetic acids (HAAs), and total organic halides (TOX)) were measured at 3days and 7days incubation time. Sample waters were collected from the Han River and the Wonchun Reservoir. Two major findings are as follows. First, THMFPs/DOC, HAAFPs/DOC and TOXFPs/DOC in the hydrophilic organic component had a level of lower value than those of the hydrophobic organic component. Brominated THMs and bominated HAAs were not found in the chlorinated hydrophobic organic component. Second, the magnitude of HAAFPs/DOC were higher than that of THMFPs/DOC in both hydrophilic and hydrophobic organic components. This results support the reported observation that HAAs formations were higher than that of THMs in chlorinated drinking water. THMFPs and HAAFPs comprised 53-91% of TOXFP.

In recent, the CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) composite has been widely used because it has light-weight and high mechanical strength. Therefore, CFRP composite is applied to variable industrial areas such as aerospace, automobiles, sporting goods, ships and so on. Generally, CFRP composite has been used in the industrial field by mechanical cutting processes. In this research, the CFRP composite specimen are laminated by 64plies with orientation angles such as 0°, 45°, 90° and [0°/±45°/90°]4S. The results are analyzed with cutting force and cutting surface.

This study was conducted to investigate the haloacetic acid (HAAs) formation characteristics in raw and treated water in Korea. The raw and treated water from the five major rivers were examined to measure the HAAs concentrations and compared those with literature values. Major findings are as follows. First, average HAAs concentration of treated water (collected from three water treatment plants) in Korea appeared to be 62.5±66.7㎍/L (n=7) and this level is higher than the average trihalomethanes (THMs) concentration (13.2±12.9㎍/L, n=6933) reported recently. Second, the average formation potential of TCAA and DCAA after three days was found as 103±74㎍/L (n=14) and 76±36㎍/L (n=14), respectively. As this result was applied to US-EPA developed model equation for TCAA and DCAA formation, dissolved organic matter (DOM) in Korea has a tendency to produce more TCAA and DCAA as compared to US. This phenomenon was especially notable in DCAA. The sum of weight percentage of TCAA and DCAA which are individual component of HAAS was composed of 80% of HAAs.

As a result of separating river sand and sea sand into the corrosion increased according to the of thinnss or the coating and the Chloride Content and Corrosion of Steel Bar through the experiment, the following conclusions are obtained. 1. There was no corrosion in the case of treating the steel bar with anticorrosive among test specimens cured in the air for 60 days, corrosion was found in the test specimens not treated with anticorrosive and for 60 days of age. 2. The area of corrosion increased according to the thinnss of the coating and the chloride content wher exposed for are more than 60 days. Therefore, it was determined in general that the corrosion progressed more rapidly in water cured specimens than in air cured ones and this was due to the influence of C1_( ̄) in the sea sand.
기니이픽 장관의 c-Kit 및 NK 1R 면역반응 세포구조에 대한 공초점 주사현미경적 연구

Background and Objectives: Immunolabelling of interstitial Cajal(IC) cells in the intestinal wall has recently been developed by using a specific marker, the anti-c-Kit antibody. Substance-P is a well-known neurotransmitter in the gastro-intestinal tract. Since the gastro-intestinal wall structures have already been well documented in the guinea pig, immunohistochemistry was done for the c-Kit-positive IC network and substance-P receptor(NK1R) in an attempt to provide a morphological basis for the mechanism regulating gastro-intestinal movement. Materials and Methods: Cryosection and whole-mount preparations of guinea pig small intestine and colon were single and double immunolabelled using the anti-c-Kit and NK1R antibodies. Immunolabelled specimens were observed under a confocal laser scanning microscope. Results : According to a three dimensional reconstruction study, it was found that (1) the c-Kit-positive celluar networks were widely distributed in the intestinal wall, (2) c-Kit-positive celluar networks encircled the ganlion, with strands in reticular configurations, and (3) the c-Kit-positive cells showed colocalization with NK1R in circular muscle(CM), not myenteric plexus(MY). Conclusion: The charateristic profiles of IC containing c-Kit-positive celluar networks and the relationship between c-Kit-positive and NK1R-positive structures provide a morphological basis upon the mechanism regulating gastro-intestinal motility.
