        Voice Mismatch Meets Neurolinguistics

This paper aims to investigate Korean advanced L2 English learners’ strategies for ellipsis resolution during sentence processing. Ellipsis resolution is known to involve several stages of information processing from the initial step of detecting an ellipsis-licensing element by the parser to the final stage of integrating the ellipsis site with the information retrieved from the antecedent of the ellipsis site. In examining these steps, we have manipulated three factors: (i) TP vs. VP-ellipsis; (ii) two types of discourse coherence relations (resemblance(-contrast) vs. cause-effect relations); (iii) voice match vs. mismatch. We found through the ERP recordings that voice mismatch in TP ellipsis elicited N400, followed by P600, irrespective of discourse coherence relations. In contrast, voice mismatch in VP-ellipsis registered N400 only in resemblance(-contrast) relation, but not in cause-effect relation. These findings lead us to conclude that Korean advanced L2 learners of English seem to undergo the full sequence of processing stages required for ellipsis resolution.

        In this paper, a Meridian balance measurement system is developed for Meridian characterization studies. The system utilized a method of Meridian electrical flow measurement. The system consists of 4-channel Meridian impedance measurement parts, filters, A/D converter, micro-controller, and personal computer. The system flows a low current between Meridian points and measures the energy amount by using the voltage drop on a standard register. The voltage drop is then A/D-converted and fed to personal computer for impedance calculation.

        In the process of ingot pulling of the Si single crystal, the pulling velocity of the single crystal silicon should be faster than the dislocation propagation velocity in order to have uniform resistivity in (100) plane. The (100) plane has no dislocation when single crystal seed is contacted and seperated from the melt. Oxygen content of the Si ingot should be controlled by melting Si in Ar gas atmosphere with magnetic field to increase the viscosity of the melt. The efficiency of the Si wafer solar cell can be enhanced by (1) removing the defects in the Si wafer, (2) minimizing the recombination and thermalization of the atoms which lead to energy loss, (3) forming pyramid structure on the cell surface to reduce reflection of the light.       • 증가 분산을 보이는 오차하에서 Michaelis-Menten Kinetic 상수 추정치의 분석을 위한 5가지 방법들의 비교

        Lineweaver-Burk 방법은 등분산 오차와는 달리 증가분산 오차인 경우 K?을 계사낳는 좋은 방법임을 앞의 결과들로 부터 알 수 있었다. 즉 기질농도 범위가 다른 방법에 비해 넓다. 그러나 정확도와 정도 모두 다른 방법에 비해 우수하였으며 오차의 크기에도 영향을 적게 받는다. Hanes-Woolf 방법은 추정치 K?의 C.V.가 기질 농도 범위 증가에 따라 급격히 증가하였고 이에 따른 정확도로 나빠졌다. 정확한 기질농도 범위를 선택한 경우 정확한 K?을 추정할 수 있으나(Table 2)그렇치 않은 경우는 매우 위험한 방법이었다. Woolf-Augustinsson-Hofstee 방법은 다른 방법들에 비해 K? 추정치의 C.V.가 가장 작은 방법이었으나 K?-K?의 분포가 각 실험에서 다른 나머지 방법에 비하여 크게 나타나 정확도가 좋지 않은 방법이었다. 이와 같은 결과가 실험 I과 실험 III에서 추정치들의 C.V.는 가장 작으나 K?-K? 분포가 가장 크게 나타났었다. 또한 Fig.5에서 보면 측정 오차가 커지면 K? 추정치는 실제값보다 작게 측정되는 경향이 있음을 볼 수 있었다. Wilkinson-Cleland 방법은 정확도에서 좋은 방법이었다.그러나 K? 추정치의 C.V.가 크며 (Table2)정확한 기질 농도 범위를 사용하지 않으면 실제값보다 작은 추정치를 가지는 경향이 있음을 알 수 있었다(Fig.2). 정확한 기질농도 범위에서 실험을 할 경우 정확도는 Hanes-Woolf 방법, Wilkinson-Cleland 방법, Lineweaver-Burk 방법,Direct linear 방법, Direct linear 방법, Woolf Augustinsson-Hofstee 방법의 순서로 양호하였다. 같은 효소에서 저해제나 활성제의 영향을 서로 비교할 때는 추정치들의 분산이 작은 Woolf-Augustinsson-Hofstee 방법이 좋다. 적정 기질농도 범위는 약 2 K?에 서 6K?사이로 각 방법에 따라 조금씩 차이가 있었으며 최소 필요 기질농도 수는 10개 내외가 적당하였다. The Michaelis-Menten equation was fitted to simulated data showing the increasing variance error by using three linear transformations(Lineweaver-Burk, Hanes-Woolf, Woolf-Augustinsson-Hofstee), and Cornsih-Bowen's direct linear plot and the method of Wikinson Cleland. The best method under the well definded conditions was those of Hanes-Wkklf's. The Woolf-Augustinsson-Hofstee plot appeared the worst method. The proper fanges of substrate concentration were different from each other between even-spaced within the defined range, were adequate.

        발레 숙련도에 따른 센터에서 Grand Battement Jete´ a´ la seconde 동작의 운동학적 비교 분석

The purpose of this study was to investigate time of the phase, angle of the right ankle, knee, and hip joint, lateral angle of the trunk, mediolateral displacement of COM, and vertical displacement of COM between two groups while executing grand battement jets ?la seconde in a center exercise setting through 3D video analysis. The subjects participated in this study were skilled and unskilled 6 female ballet majors in Busan, respectively. The conclusions are as follows: 1. The time of the phase 2 was faster than P3. It shows a significant difference(p<.05) for P1 and P4 between skilled and unskilled groups. 2. The angle of the right ankle joint has a significant difference(p<.05) at E4 between skilled and unskilled groups. The angle of the right knee joint has no significant difference at all events between skilled and unskilled groups. The angle of the right hip joint has a significant difference(p<.001) at E3 between skilled and unskilled groups. 3. The lateral angle of the trunk has a significant difference(p<.05) at El and at E5 between skilled and unskilled groups. The skilled group of the lateral angle of the trunk was lower than the unskilled group. However the skilled group's lateral angle of the trunk was bigger than the unskilled group at E3. It has significant difference(p<.001) at E3 between skilled and unskilled groups. 4. The mediolateral displacement of COM has no significant difference at all events between skilled and unskilled groups. The vertical displacement of COM has a significant difference(p<.01) at E3 between skilled and unskilled groups.

        血漿 Chlorpromazine濃度와 그 臨床的 意義

        Plasma chlorpromazine level and some aspects of the clinical significane were studied with 20 schizophrenics. The results were as follows; The (so-called) steady state of plasma chlorpromanzine level was arrived at about 12th day of the drug administration in a dose of 300mg/day on a fixed maintenane regimen. Thereafter the level tended to decline slightly. After arriving at the steady state, a significant positive correlation was observed between the plasma level and the dose of the drug, both in intra-and interpatient comparisons (r=+0.5855, p<0.025). On a fixed chlopromazine dosage, the plasma levels showed marked interpatient differences both before and after the initial day of the steady state, though the differences were more marked before the period of steady state. No significant positive correlation could be identified between the plasma level and the drug side reaction, though 78% of the observed side reactions were positively related with the plasma level of 1.5 mcg/ml or above. And again, significant positive correlation was not observed between the plasma level and the clinical improvement. So-called 'therapeutic window' was considerably wide ranging between 0.5 to 2.45 mcg/ml of the plasma level.

        精神分裂病에서의 血小板 Monoamine Oxidase 活性度와 血漿 Estradiol, Progesterone 및 Testosterone의 相關關係에 關한 硏究

        The hypothesis that certain central dopaminergic systems may be overactive in schizophrenia has quite generally accepted by many investigators. Studies of monoamine oxidase (MAO), the major degradating enzyme of biogenic monoamine, have provided a focus for recent biological in schizophrenia. This study was set up to determine the alteration of platelet MAO activity and its sexual differences, the change of plasm sex hormone levels and the correlation between platelet MAO activity and plasma sex hormone levels, in 130 schizophrenics, comparing with 197 normal healthy subjects. Platelet MAO activity was determined fluorometrically by the modified method of Kraml, measuring the deamination of kynuramine to 4-OH quinoline, and was expressed as nanomoles of quinoline produced per milligram of platelet protein per hour. At the same time, plasma estradiol, progesterone and testosterone levels wers determined by radioimmunoassay technique, Following results were obtained. 1. Platelet MAO activity is not different in acute schizophrenics, but is low significantly in chronic schizophrenics (63.7% of normal control group). 2. Platelet MAO activity is lower in male chronic schizophrenics(56.06% of control group) than female(64.69%), and the sex difference is significant. 3. Plasma estradiol level is significantly low in male chronic schizophrenics(71.82%). 4. The correlation coefficient between platelet MAO activity and plasma sex hormone levels reveal negative correlation between platelet MAO activity and plasma testosterone level in female chronic schizophrenics. From the results of the study, it is strongly suggested that the sex difference of platelet MAO activity in chronic schizophrenia is related to the alteration of plasma sex hormone levels.
