        이광수와 나쓰메 소세키의 문학교육론이 지닌 근대성 비교연구

        Soseki is representative novelist and theorists of Japanese modern literature, and Lee Gwangsoo (Lee) is known as person who opened doors to Korean modern literature. They are representing not only Korean and Japanese modern literature, but also Oriental modern literature. We focused on the early stages of their literary theories. As well, looked into their arguments based on their ideas of literary education in relation between literature and society. Although Soseki and Lee are both representatives of Korean and Japanese modern literature, we have found their literary theories to have contrasts, as well as undertoned ideal substance. Their findings show identical recognition in defining the workings of human mind as intellect, emotion and volition. Also, their thoughts on the realm of emotion is the characteristic of literature, and explained modern literature by drawing the concepts of rationality and truth. Soseki insisted literary art is not a simple skill; a literary artist could influence others due to their ideals that a literary artist is someone who has the biggest and highest ideals. Lee’s argument resembles Soseki’s argument. Lee contended literary art can be made simply with skill and endeavor. Only highly gifted artist can take charge of a growing self-regulating person who could lead society through literature. Soseki and Lee both, therefore, conclude the Occidental natural science (in other words, education that is logical and substantiate) is modern education, and upcoming Oriental new education need to take after. We found Soseki and Lee have contended education through literature that could produce self-regulating and liberal individuals based on the mentioned Occidental new education.

      • 동일한 환자에서 조혈모세포이식 전후의 호중구감소 기간 중 감염양상에 대한 비교연구 : 중심정맥관 관련 패혈증을 중심으로 Based on Central Venous Catheter Related Septicemia

        연구배경: 동일한 환자를 대상으로 조혈모세포이식 전 일반 병실에서의 관해유도 항암제치료 및 강화요법으로 인한 호중구감소 기간의 감염양상과 고용량 항암제치료 후 무균실에서의 조혈모세포이식 시 호중구감소 기간의 감염양상을 중심정맥관 관련 패혈증을 중심으로 비교 연구함으로써 효율적인 감염관리지침을 마련하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 1999년 1월부터 2001년 7월까지 2년 7개월간 동아대학교병원 일반병실에서 악성혈액질환으로 항암제 치료를 받다가 조혈모세포이식을 시행받았던 22명을 대상으로 중심정맥관 관련 패혈증의 형태를 비교분석하였다. 결과: 대상 환자들의 일반병실과 무균실에서의 입원기간은 각각 32±13일, 33±19일, 호중구 감소기간은 15±12일, 17±18일, 호중구 감소기간의 발열 횟수는 14회, 14회로서 입원병실의 종류에 따른 차이는 없었다. 환자들의 중심정맥관 사용일수는 일반병실에서 29일(7~545일), 무균실에서 100.5일(25~606일)이었으며, 총 사용일수는 각각 1,515일, 3,250일로서 무균실에서의 중심정맥관 사용일수가 의미 있게 길었다(P=0.001). 중심정맥관 사용 일수에 대한 감염률은 각각 5.28/1,000일, 3.08/1,000일로서 일반병실에서 그 빈도가 높았으나 통계적 유의성은 보이지 않았다(P=0.141). 결론: 중심정맥관 삽입 후 일반병실에서 항암제 치료를 받던 환자가 조혈모세포이식을 위하여 무균실에 입원하는 경우, 중심정맥관을 교체하는 것이 감염관리를 위하여 바람직할 것으로 생각된다. Background: We compared the incidence of central venous catheter (CVC) related septicemia during neutropenic period in the same patient, which developed following chemotherapy for remission induction and consolidation, or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and laboratory data of 22 patients with hematologic malignancies who received anticancer chemotherapy followed by HSCT at Dong-A University Hospital between January, 1999 and July, 2001. We investigated the duration of hospitalization, duration of neutropenic period, duration of catheterization, microbiologically documented organisms and incidence of CVC related septicemia. Results: The data in general ward (before HSCT) and laminar air flow room (after HSCT) were as follows: duration of hospitalization was 32±13 days and 33±19 days, duration of neutropenic period was 15±12 days and 17±18 days, median duration of catheterization was 29 days (7~545 days) and 100.5 days (25~606 days) (P=0.001), and incidence of CVC related septicemia was 5.28/1000 days and 3.08/1000 days, respectively. In the CVC related septicemia, the most common etiologic organism was coagulase negative staphylococcus. Conclusion: We suggest that the exchange of CVC before admission to laminar air flow room could decrease the incidence of CVC related septicemia in HSCT recipients.

        TNF-α로 유도된 혈관내피세포의 혈관염증에 미치는 오적산(五積散)의 억제 효과

        Objectives : Ojeoksan, originally recorded in an ancient Korean medicinal book named “Donguibogam” and has been used for the treatment of circulation disorder of blood which was called blood accumulation (血積) in Korean medicine. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate the beneficial effect of OJS on vascular inflammation in HUVECs. Methods : We evaluated the effect of OJS on the expression of cell adhesion molecules and protective role in HUVEC stimulated by TNF-α by using Western blot. Results : Pretreatment with OJS decreased the adhesion of HL-60 cells to TNF-α-induced HUVEC. OJS suppressed TNF-α-induced expression level of cell adhesion molecules such as intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1), and endothelial cell selectin (E-selectin). Moreover, OJS significantly decreased TNF-α-induced production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS); and inhibited the phosphorylation of IκB-α in the cytoplasm compared to the experimental group. Pretreatment with OJS inhibited the trans-location of NF-κB p65 to the nucleus. OJS also inhibited phosphorylation of MAPKs compared to the experimental group. OJS significantly increased the protein expression of Nrf2 and HO-1. Conclusions : Ojeoksan has a protective effect on vascular inflammation, and might be a potential therapeutic agent for early atherosclerosis.

        30-40대 남성들의 패션 라이프스타일 요인이 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of fashion life style factors on appearance management behavior and to show how self-monitoring influences appearance management behaviors. Subjects for the study were men aged in their thirties and forties living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted using convenience samples. A total number of 370 questionnaires were used for data analysis. For statistical analysis, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of this study indicated that a fashion lifestyle was composed of four factors-fashion/appearance-oriented factor, ostentation-oriented factor, rational consumption- oriented factor, and dignity-oriented factor. The dependent variable of the study was appearance management behavior. Appearance management behavior consisted of interest in skin care and interest in fashion. A statistical analysis of multiple regression revealed that a fashion life style significantly influenced interest in skin care and interest in fashion. When subjects were categorized into two groups by self-monitoring, both respondents with high and low self-monitoring showed that fashion/appearance oriented factors significantly influenced interest in skin care. Fashion/appearance oriented factor influenced interest in skin care more for the subjects with high self-monitoring than for those with low self-monitoring. In contrast, fashion/appearance oriented factors had greater influence on interest in fashion for those subjects with low self-monitoring than those with high self-monitoring.

      • Vascular Protective Role of Samul-Tang in HUVECs: Involvement of Nrf2/HO-1 and NO

        <P>Samul-Tang (Si-Wu-Tang, SMT), composed of four medicinal herbs, is a well-known herbal formula treating hematological disorder or gynecologic disease. However, vascular protective effects of SMT and its molecular mechanisms on the vascular endothelium, known as the central spot of vascular inflammatory process, are not reported. The aim of this study was to investigate vascular protective effects of SMT water extract in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Water extract of SMT was prepared and identified by HPLC-PDA analysis. Expression of cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and translocation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-<I>κ</I>B) and nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) were determined by western blot. Nuclear localization of NF-<I>κ</I>B and Nrf2 was visualized by immunofluorescence and DNA binding activity of NF-<I>κ</I>B was measured. ROS production, HL-60 monocyte adhesion, and intracellular nitric oxide (NO) were also measured using a fluorescent indicator. SMT suppressed NF-<I>κ</I>B translocation and activation as well as expression of CAMs, monocyte adhesion, and ROS production induced by TNF-<I>α</I> in HUVECs. SMT treated HUVECs showed upregulation of HO-1 and NO which are responsible for vascular protective action. Our study suggests that SMT, a traditionally used herbal formula, protects the vascular endothelium from inflammation and might be used as a promising vascular protective drug.</P>

        ERK1/2 activation in quercetin-treated BEAS-2B cell plays a role in Nrf2-driven HO-1 expression

        Quercetin, a member of the flavonoids,has been heralded as chemopreventive agent, generally because of its free radical-scavenging and antiproliferative activities. In this process, NF-E2-related factor-2 (Nrf2) plays a role in protecting cells from oxidative damage; however, the exact mechanisms in which bronchial epithelial cells respond to quercetin by activating Nrf2 are not fully understood. Here, we report the role of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) activation in response to quercetin. Quercetin treatment decreased the viability of human bronchial epithelial BEAS-2B cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. ERK1/2 was activated within 10 min of quercetin addition and then remained increased above control level throughout 48 h, whereas AKT phosphorylation was suppressed from the first 1 h of quercetin treatment. Inhibition of Erk1/2 phosphorylation attenuated quercetin-induced loss of cell viability. Nrf2levels in both nuclear and whole cell lysates increased after quercetin treatment and was accompanied by the increase of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) protein level,indicating that increased HO-1 expression is Nrf2-mediated. Activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 system after quercetin treatment was suppressed by the pretreatment with MEK inhibitor, PD98059. Also, silencing Nrf2 with siRNA decreased cell viability and augmented cytotoxic effect of anticancer drug LBH589. Overall, our results indicate that quercetin induces the up-regulation of Nrf2-mediated HO-1 expression, at least in part, via MEK/ERK1/2 signaling, as an adaptive mechanism which may provide advantages for cell proliferation and enhance survival despite endogenous and/or exogenous oxidative insults.

        We report on the design, fabrication and performances of a low-noise Nb SQUID sensor for neuromagnetic measurements. The main features of the developed sensor are i) large flux-to-voltage transfer, making the SQUID readout electronics simple, and ii) use of the integrated planar pickup coil to eliminate the environmental magnetic field noises. The magnetic field noise of the developed SQUID sensor is below 5 fT/√Hz at 100 Hz, which is low enough to be used in neuromagnetic measurements.

      • Coevaporation에 의한 cd₁-xZn_(x)S 박막 제작 및 특성에 관한 연구

        In this paper, structural optical and electrical properties of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S thin films prepared by coevaporation method were studied. Also, effects of ZnS mole ratio(x) to CdS on properties of thin film Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S/CdTe solar cells were investigated. When the ZnS mole ratio was less than 0.85, the crystal structure of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S films was hexagonal with the c axis aligned perpendicular to the substrate. For x>0.85, however, the Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S films were grown with cubic zincblende structire. As the ZnS mole ratio increased the lattice constant of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S films rapidly increased with ZnS mole ratio. The open circuit voltage of Cd₁xZnxS/CdTe solar cells increased with x due to reducing of the electron affinity difference between Cd₁xZnxS and CdTe films. However, the increase of series resistance due to the high resistivity of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S films results on reducing conversion efficiency.

      • PCA와 ANN을 이용한 VOC 측정기기 개발

        Air quality monitoring is a primary activity for industrial and social environment. The government identifies the pollutants that each industry must monitor. Especially, the VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds), which are very harmful to human body and environment atmosphere, should be controlled under the government policy. However, the VOCs, which have not been confirmed in emission sources are very difficult to monitor. It is needed to develop the monitoring system that allow the continuous and in situ measurement of VOCs mixture in different environmental matrices. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry are the most prevalent current techniques among those available for the analysis of VOCs. But, they need a large size analytical instrument, which costs a great deal for purchase and operation. In addition, it has some limitations for real time environmental monitoring such as location problems and slow processing time. Recently, several companies have commercialized a portable VOCs measurement systems, which cannot classify various kinds of VOCs but total quantities. We have developed a VOCs measurement system, which recognizes various kinds and quantities of VOCs, such as benzene, toluene, and xylene(BTX). Also, it can be used as a stand-alone type and/or fixed type in the vehicle with rack for real-time environmental monitoring.
