        Interaction between Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor Val66Met Polymorphism and Recent Negative Stressor in Harm Avoidance

        <P>There have been controversial results regarding the association between brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) Val66Met polymorphism and anxiety-related traits such as harm avoidance (HA). We aimed to investigate the interaction between <I>BDNF</I> Val66Met polymorphism and negative life stressors in HA. <I>BDNF</I> Val66Met polymorphism was genotyped in 391 community-dwelling Koreans (152 males, 239 females; 43.2 ± 14.1 years old). The Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) and the Center for Epidemiological Studies for Depression Scale (CES-D) were self applied. The Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV axis I disorders and face-to-face interviews investigating negative life stressors within the last 6 months were also performed. There was no significant difference in TCI score, major depressive disorder prevalence and CES-D score among the 3 genotypes (94 Met/Met, 188 Val/Met and 109 Val/Val subjects). There was no significant difference in TCI scores between subjects with stressors and those without stressors, while more common major depressive episodes (p = 0.03) and higher CES-D scores (p < 0.001) were found in subjects with stressors. However, there was a significant interaction between the <I>BDNF</I> genotype and negative life stressors in HA (p = 0.02). Only subjects with the Val/Val genotype showed higher HA with recent negative stressors. Our finding suggests that <I>BDNF</I> Val66Met polymorphism might influence HA by interacting with recent negative stress experience.</P><P>Copyright © 2009 S. Karger AG, Basel</P>

        Star Schema is widely used for OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) systems to represent multidimensional data in relational database management systems which can be used to analyze for an enterprise's decision making. The star schema consists of a fact table and a set of dimension tables surrounding the fact table. Many researchers have investigated the methodologies for designing the Star Schema from the source data in relational databases. Meanwhile, XML is emerging as a new standard representing data and documents in the Internet. We also need to analyze a huge amount of data represented by XML files, thus we present an algorithm, XML2Star, for designing Star Schema from XML source data. The XML2Star extracts the components of star schema, which are measurements (i.e., facts), dimensions, and dimension hierarchies, from DTDs in XML documents. Based on th star schema, this algorithm also builds star schema instances (i.e., multidimensional cube) from XML documents. The star schema instances will be used for users' multidimensional analyses by using OLAP tools. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can help user deriving star schema from XML source data in the Internet easily and analyzing the schema over various dimensions effectively.

      • p-형 Si(100) 기판 위에 성장시킨 Bi_(3.25)La_(0.75)Ti₃O_(12) (BLT) 박막의 전기적 특성

        Bi₃zsLa(0.75)Ti₃0_(12) (BLT) thin film have been grown on p-type Si(l00) substrates by a sol-gel spin coating process. The structure and surface morphology of the film were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEMI. Furthermore, the electrical properties were examined by capacitance-voltage ( C-V) characteristics by using a LF Impedance Analyzer(HP 4192A). XRD measurement show layered perovskite structure with a single phase in BLT thin film annealed at 700C for 30 min in oxygen. The measured grain size of BLT on Si is about 0.04 - 0.1 pn. From the cross-sectional SEM image, BLT film thickness is measured to be 0.4 pm. The C-V characteristic hysteresis curves show that the NIFS (metal-fexroelectric-semiconductor) structure has memory effect. The memory window decreases, with increasing frequency at MFS structure. And it is found that the memory window increases as the applied voltage to the ferroelectric capacitor is increased. These phenomena may be due to polarization reversals of the BLT ferroelectric film and because of the charge injection from Si substrate into the ferroelectric thin film. The results obtained indicate that the present BLT films are suitable for making ferroelectric field effect transistor(FeFET) memory.

      • 방광의 이행상피암에서 p53과 PCNA 분포에 관한 연구

        Immunohistochemical studies were carried out to observe the expression of p53 protein and PCNA in transitional cell carcinoma (TCC), then analyzed according to the tumor grade and progression. 38 cases of TCC consist of 13 cases grade Ⅰ, 12 cases grade Ⅱ and 13 cases grade Ⅲ respectively. Results obtained are as follows. 1. p53 protein expression was seen in 60% of cases(15 out of 38 cases) In the poorly differentiated area and infiltrated lesion, tumor cell showed more strong positive reaction of p53 protein compared with well differentiated area. 2. All of 38 cases of TCC showed PCNA positive expression. The more strong positivity was seen in the poorly differentiated area and the more intense positive reaction was noted in the basal layer of the tumor nests. 3. The above results showed that positivity of p53 protein and PCNA are closely related with tumor cell differentiation(grade) and progression. It is concluded that positive reaction of p53 protein and PCNA may contribute to detection of tumor growth and prognosis of patient.

        Pure primary medullary hemorrhage is a rare condition, which is characterized by ipsilateral hypoglossal nerve palsy and contralateral hemiparesis. The hemorrhage usually extended to medial and ventral medulla, these two characteristic signs distinguished from the classical presentation of Wallenberg's lateral medullary syndrome. A 53-years-old man was admitted with sudden onset left sides weakness and vertigo. Neurologic examination showed dysarthria, mild dysphagia, Horner syndrome of right side, spontaneous horizontal jerking nystagmus to left side and right deviation of tongue at protrusion. Pain and temperature sensation of left trunk, left extremity and right face were decreased. Brain CT scan and brain MRI revealed focal hemorrhage in the right medulla. We report a case of pure primary medullary hemorrhage with undetermined etiology.

        This paper aims at study of the career path that is the most important decision factor of millennium generation's lifestyle. Because millennium generation will be new market indicator, of 21 century. For this study, this paper is based on generation Gap that is dealt with all social science. Where Traditionalists seek to build lifetime careers, Boomers to build stellar careers, and Xers to build portable careers, the career path ClashPoint for Millennials will be around parallel careers. Millennials' programmed live have made them true multitaskers. Millennials are already quite capable of learning several jobs simultaneously and performing them admirably. Millennials are throwing out the old model that you're either a waitress, a hostess, or running the register. In a tight labor market, making sure scarce Millennials can cover more than one position is a smart strategy. In a contracting economy, it's cost-effective to put Millennials' multitasking abilities to use rather than hire more employees. Plus, cross-training is a great retention strategy, which reduces the expense of turnover. Futurists predict that Millennials will experience as many as ten career changes in their lifetimes. That's career changes, not job changes-meaning they will recycle their skills and talents and personal preferences into new application again and again and again. Throughout their careers, this generation will be ready, willing, and able to adapt to an organization's evolving structure.

      • 첨단·비첨단 신제품과 조화·부조화적 광고단서의 설득 효과

        The current research contributes to the literature by showing empirically that viewers could read advertising effects of new high-tech product according to their congruent, incongruent visual cues. Specifically, research findings indicate that, as an integral element in print advertising, (non)high-technology new products works with other ad elements-such as visual cues-to help "Complexity" a product and visual cues that frames the meanings communicated to a viewer. The results from the research are suggested as follows. Incongruent visual cues are to be more efficient persuading means in non-high tech products than in high-tech ones. Congruent visual cues, demonstrate their conjoined pacing effects with being restricted to purchasing intention.

        Fibrothecoma are mesenchymal tumors deriving from the ovarian stroma and consisting of theca-like elements and fibrous tissues. The reported incidence is between 0.4 and 8.0% of all ovarian tumors and this side variability can be attributed to the difficulty in differentiation fibrothecoma from ovarian fibroma or hyperplastic stroma nodules. We experienced a rare case of ovarian fibrothecoma in woman at 38 weeks gestation with previous repeat cesarean section diagnosed after tertiary cesarean delivery and bilateral tubal ligation with a brief review of literature.

        Formations of TiSi₂ thin films by a solid state reaction between Ti thin films and Si substrates and the effects of the conditions of Si substrates have been investigated. Low-Resistant C54- TiSi films were formed by rapid thermal processes at 750℃ on the undroped Si (100) substrate, and at 800℃ on the As or B-doped Si (100) substrate as well as on As or B-droped poly-Si substrates. Cross-sectional TEM analyses confirmed the formation of small-grained C49 TiSi₂films by rapid thermal processes at 700℃ on pre-amorphized poly-Si substrate by As implantation. The temperatures of the transformation to the C5 phase decreased in small-grained C49- TiSi₂films. Finally, low resistant C54 TiSi₂thin films were selectively formed on gate, source, and drain regions by SALICIDE process with pre-amorphizaton of substrates. Microstructures and electrical properties of TiSi₂ film were investigated. Sheet resistance of TiSi₂ film on 1.2㎛-wide poly-Si gates was 3.8~4.2Ω/□, and XRD results showed phase formation of C54 TiSi₂ films.

      • n-CdS_(0.46)Se_(0.54)/p-Cu_92-x)S_(0.46)Se_(0.54) 이종접합 태양전지의 제작과 그 특성에 관한 연구

        승화방법에 의해 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 성장하여 결정구조를 조사하고, Van der Pauw 방법으로 Hall effect를 측정하여 carrier density의 온도 의존성과 mobility의 온도 의존성을 조사하였다. 성장된 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 치환반응하여 n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 이종접합 태양전지를 제작하였다. Spectral response, 전류-전압특성 및 전력변환 효율을 조사하여 그 결과로부터 개방전압은 0.48V, 단락 전류 밀도는 21mA/㎠, fill factor와 전력변환효율은 각각 0.75와 9.5%를 얻었다. CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal was grown by a sublimation method. The crystal structure and the temperature dependence of carrier density and mobility of CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal were studied. Heterojunction solar cells on n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 were fabricated by the substitution reaction. The spectral response, the J-U characteristics and the conversion efficiency of the n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells were studied. The open-cricuit voltage, short-circuit density, fill factor and conversion efficiency of n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells under 80mW/㎠ illumination were found to be 0.48V, 21mA/㎠, 0.75 and 9.5%, respectively.
