        외래어 표준 발음 문제에 대한 고찰

        The purpose of this paper is to investigate actual pronunciation of the words of foreign origin and to review the matters related to it. A received pronunciation of foreign words is needed to teach or learn Korean efficiently, but there are no informations about it in Standard Korean Pronouncing Dictionary. I can find a basis for represent a received pronunciation of foreign words in Regulations of Standard Korean. To investigate the actual pronunciation of the foreign words, the frequency data of the National Korean Language Institute is used as the subject of investigation. There is a big gap between the actual pronunciation and the orthography of the words of foreign origin. I suggest the pronunciation of foreign words is marked on the Standard Korean Pronouncing Dictionary instead of revising the Regulations of Standard Korean.

        '통일사전' 의 올림말 배열 순서

        The purpose of this paper is to make an alternative idea about the order of an entry in so-called One-Korean Dictionary. For this purpose, I show the differences between the order of an entry in dictionary compiling and the order of a Hangul letters in Hangul orthography system. Then I analyse the oredr of an entry in the Pyojune dictionary(「표준국어대사전」) and the order of an entry in the Chosun dictionary (「조선말대사전」), and compare the one with the other. Finally, I propose a new order of an entry for so-called One-Korean Dictionary, it is as follows. ①an initial of a Korean orthographic syllable ㄱ ㄲ ㄴ ㄷ ㄸ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅃ ㅅ ㅆ ㅇ ㅈ ㅉ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ ②a medial of a Korean orthographic syllable ㅏ ㅐ ㅑ ㅒ ㅓ ㅔ ㅕㅖ ㅗ ㅘ ㅙ ㅚ ㅛ ㅜ ㅝ ㅞ ㅟ ㅠ ㅡ ㅢ ㅣ ③a final of a Korean orthographic syllable ㄹ ㄲ ㄳ ㄴ ㄵ ㄶ ㄷ ㄹ ㄺ ㄻ ㄼ ㄽ ㄿ ㅀ ㅁ ㅂ ㅄ ㅅ ㅆ ㅇ ㅈ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ I propose that 24 Hangul letters in Hangul orthography system should be revised to 40 Hangul letters.

        한국해안으로부터 Purple, Non-Sulfur Photosynthetic Bacterium, Rhodobacter sp. EGH-24의 분리 및 특성

        A species of facultative photo-organotrophic, purple, non-sulfur bacterium was isolated from the 47 point at west and south coast of Korea in September 2001. Separated 13 samples of changes with red color under 28~32 ℃, 3000 lux, anaerobe conditions for 7 days cultivated in basal medium. For pure isolation from 13 samples, we used agar-shake tube method (0.4 % agar) and separated 5 strains through 13-repetition test. EGH-24 and EGH-30 was identified as the same strain through the RAPD(Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA)-PCR of strain EGH-9, EGH-13, EGH-23, EGH-24, EGH-30. Four isolates cultivated in synthesis wastewater for wastewater biodegradation test. EGH-24 was selected with efficient wastwater treating strain. Based on the results obtained from morphology, nutrient requirements, major bacteriochlorophyll content, 16S-rDNA phylogenetic analysis, EGH-24 strain may be identified as a new strain of the genus Rhodobacter and named Rhodobacter sp. EGH-24.

      • 벤젠이 마우스 胎仔 肝組織細胞의 小核出現에 미치는 經胎盤效果

        To investigate the transplacental effects of benzene inducing cytotoxicity of fetal mouse liver, number of micronuclei in cells tissue extraced from fetus of which dams were administered with benzene per os by doses of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 ml/kg were measured. Furthermore, vitamine C was administered to check whether it inhibits the production of micronucleus when exposed to benzene at the same time. On the other hand, alcohol was also administered to check whether it increases the production of them. The summarized results were follows; 1. The frequency of micronuclei produced from liver cells of fetus whose dams were administered with benzene by single doses of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 ml/kg body wt. were 1.89±0.49, 2.16±0.76 and 3.94±0.22% each, whereas it was 1,41±0.27% in normal group. 2. In cases of additional doses of 0.5 and 1.0ml/kg body wt. after 6 hours of initial same doses, the frequencies of them were 2.48±0.67 and 3.18±0.37% each which were significantly higher than those of single dosed group. 3, When 2g/kg body wt. of vitamine C was administered at the same time with 0.5ml/kg body wt. of benzene administration, the frequency of micronuclei produced was 1.45±0.37% which was not different from that of normal group. In cases of 1ml/kg of benzene and 2g/kg of vitamine C administration, it was1.67±0.26% which was significantly lower than that of benzene alone treated group. 4. Alchohol (2m1/kg body wt.) was also administered together with 0.5ml/kg of benzene and 3.20±0.56%, fetal cells showed micronuclei which was significantly higher than 1.89 ±0.49% of benzene alone treated group.

      • 실험 방광암 모델에 있어서 Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen이 발현되는 세포들의 색상-화상 분석

        Proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)에 대한 단클론성 항체에 의해 면역조직화학적으로 염색된 세포들의 평가에 있어서 색상-화상 분석의 역할을 살펴보고자 하였다. BBN 투여 기간에 따라 Fisher 344 백서 방광에 정상 상피로부터 단순 과증식, 결절성 혹은 유두상 과증식 및 표재성 방광암에 이르는 순차적인 병리세포학적 변화가 발생함을 관찰한 후, 이를 색상-화상 분석과 육안적 분석을 통해 PCNA에 대한 평균 labeling index를 구한 결과 두가지 방법에서 모두 각 병변 사이에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으나, 색상-화상 분석을 이용하여 구한 평균 labeling index의 변이계수가 육안적 분석을 이용하여 구한 평균 labeling index의 변이계수에 비해 전 병변에 대하여 낮게 나타나, 종양화과정이 진행함에 따라 PCNA에 대한 평균 labeling index가 증가하고 평균 labeling index가 높을 수록 증식도가 더 큼을 나타낸다는 결과를 얻었으며, 색상-화상 분석을 이용하여 얻은 결과가 육안적 분석을 이용하여 얻은 결과보다 신뢰도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와같은 면역조직화학염색에 대한 색상-화상 분석을 통한 세포역동학적 연구는 정량화 및 재현성의 향상을 통해 면역조직화학염색의 평가에 있어 보다 신뢰도가 높은 정보를 제공하여줄 것이며, 이를 통해 방광종양의 증식도 및 악성도를 예측하는데 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 생각된다. A study was carried out to define the role of color-image analysis in evaluation of immunohistochemically labeled cells using anti-PCNA/cyclin monoclonal antibody. Sequential cellular changes(normal, simple hyperplasia, nodular or papillary hyperplasia, and transitional cell carcinoma-Ta, T1) were observed in Fisher 344 rat urinary bladder depending on the duration of BBN administration. The mean PCNA labeling index obtained by color-image analysis and visual analysis in normal, simple hyperplasia, nodular or papillary hyperplasia and bladder tumor showed statistically significant difference in each histological group. But coefficients of variation of mean PCNA labeling index obtained by color-image analysis were lower than those using visual analysis in all lesions. Higher PCNA labeling indices indicated greater biological malignant potential, and mean labeling index in each histological group obtained by both color-image and visual analysis progressively increased with tumorigenesis, but the coefficient of variation with color-image analysis was lower than that with visual analysis in general, therefore, the evaluation of labeling indices obtained using color-image analysis was more reliable than that obtained using visual analysis. The data suggest that cell kinetic evaluation using color-image analysis may provide more reliable information to evaluate immunohistochemical staining in terms of quantitation and reproducibility and play an important role in predicting proliferative activity and malignant potential for bladder tumor.

        Molecular Cloning and Enzymatic Characterization of Cyclomaltodextrinase from Hyperthermophilic Archaeon Thermococcus sp. CL1

        Genome organization near cyclomaltodextrinases (CDases) was analyzed and compared for four different hyperthermophilic archaea: Thermococcus, Pyrococcus, Staphylothermus, and Thermofilum. A gene (CL1_0884) encoding a putative CDase from Thermococcus sp. CL1 (tccd) was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. TcCD was confirmed to be highly thermostable, with optimal activity at 85oC. The melting temperature of TcCD was determined to be 93oC by both differential scanning calorimetry and differential scanning fluorimetry. A size-exclusion chromatography experiment showed that TcCD exists as a monomer. TcCD preferentially hydrolyzed α-cyclodextrin (α-CD), and at the initial stage catalyzed a ring-opening reaction by cleaving one α-1,4-glycosidic linkage of the CD ring to produce the corresponding single maltooligosaccharide. Furthermore, TcCD could hydrolyze branched CDs (G1-α-CD, G1-β- CD, and G2-β-CD) to yield significant amounts (45%, 40%, and 46%) of isomaltooligosaccharides (panose and 62-α-maltosylmaltose) in addition to glucose and maltose. This enzyme is one of the most thermostable maltogenic amylases reported, and might be of potential value in the production of isomaltooligosaccharides in the food industry.

      • Measurement of Two-Phase Flow with a High Frame-Rate Dynamic Neutron Radiography in HANARO Reactor

        A dynamic neutron radiography(DNR) has a complementary characteristics to X-ray radiography and is suitable for a visualization and measurement of a multi-phase flow research in a metallic duct and a liquid metal flow. Two kinds of experiments were conducted to visualize the water-air two-phase flow and the liquid-metal two-phase flow. The void fraction and the two-phase flow patterns in a channel simulating the HANARO fuel channel were investigated in the D₂O-air two-phase condition. The DNR technique was also applied to visualize the flow field in the gas-liquid metal two-phase flow with the HANARO-beam facility. The two-phase flow images were taken at various combinations of the liquid flow and gas flow with a high frame-rate neutron radiography at 1000 fps. The study showed that the dynamic neutron radiography is a good technique to measure the two-phase flow behavior in the complex rod-bundle geometry and the liquid-metal two-phase flow.
