반사방지막 태양전지의 I-V특성에 대한 인공신경망 모델링
이종환,홍다인 한국반도체디스플레이기술학회 2022 반도체디스플레이기술학회지 Vol.21 No.3
An anti-reflective coating is used to improve the performance of the solar cell. The anti-reflective coating changes the value of the short-circuit current about the thickness. However, the current-voltage characteristics about the antireflective coating are difficult to calculate without simulation tool. In this paper, a modeling technique to determine the short-circuit current value and the current-voltage characteristics in accordance with the thickness is proposed. In addition, artificial neural network is used to predict the short-circuit current with the dependence of temperature and thickness. Simulation results incorporating the artificial neural network model are obtained using MATLAB/Simulink and show the current-voltage characteristic according to the thickness of the anti-reflective coating.

Cordyceps is a fungus used as a traditional medicine in China, Japan, and Korea. Paecilomyces (P.) japonica is a new cordyceps that was recently cultivated on silkworm pupae in Korea. The present study evaluated the toxicological effects of P. japonica in rats. Forty rats were treated with oral doses of P. japonica (0, 20, 100, or 500 mg/kg/day) for 4 weeks. Twenty additional rats were treated with 0 or 500 mg/kg/day of P. japonica for 4 weeks and then maintained for 2 weeks without treatment. Clinical signs, body weight, food and water consumption, and organ weight as well as hematology, serum biochemistry, and histopathology data were examined. Body weight gain of the group treated with 500 mg/kg/day was significantly reduced. Microscopically, karyomegaly, single cell necrosis, and mitosis were observed in the renal tubular epithelium of all treated groups. In conclusion, P. japonica caused a reduction of body weight and renal injury in rats. The no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of P. japonica was less than 20 mg/kg/day.

A mass was detected in the oral cavity from a 18-year-old female miniature poodle dog. Grossly, the mass was soft to hard, red to purple, and 1.5 × 1.5 × 1 cm in size. Histopathologically, the mass was composed of hyperplastic gingival epithelium, well-vascularized stroma, closely packed pleomorphic cells, and numerous giant cells with multiple nuclei and abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. Immunohistochemically, tumor cells were positive for alkaline phosphatase and cytokeratin 7, but not positive for CD68 unlike in human. The mass was diagnosed to peripheral giant cell granuloma in oral cavity through typical clinical and histopathological features.

Despite the increasing prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), classified as immune-mediated disorders, the exact biological mechanisms leading to its development are undetermined, and treatment strategies remain elusive. Probiotics have been proposed as potential alternatives for treating IBD. The purpose of this research was to find therapeutic candidates of probiotics for colitis. We adopted dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model to demonstrate the therapeutic effects of ID-JPL934, a mixture of three live bacterial strains at a 1:1:1 ratio: Lactobacillus johnsonii IDCC9203, Lactobacillus plantarum IDCC3501, and Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies lactis IDCC4301, on IBD. The severity was scored according to the disease activity index (DAI) for colitis by observing body weight (BW) and stool status of each mouse once a day. BALB/c mice given 3.5% DSS in drinking water suffered from symptoms of colitis such as weight loss, diarrhea, and bloody excrement. In our study, administration of ID-JPL934 reduced the DAI scores in a dose-dependent manner, and treatments with ID-JPL934 108 and 109 colony-forming unit per mouse per day showed similar inhibition compared with those of sulfasalazine 500 mg per kg BW per day. Moreover, the contraction of colon length improved. ID-JPL934 also suppressed inflammatory lesions such as infiltration of immune cells in mucosa and submucosa, severe crypt damage, and loss of goblet and epithelial cells on the histological analysis. These results might be due to downregulation of the expression of proinflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-6. From these results, ID-JPL934 might be an effective therapeutic candidate for IBD.

GPR40 is one of the most prominent targets for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and has its role in insulin secretion via blood-glucose-dependent manner with a minimum risk of hypoglycemia. In order to discover novel antidiabetics bearing these benefits, we screened various derivatives with two distinct pharmacophores. Both series displayed potent agonistic activities for GPR40 in vitro functional assay. Through additional ADME and in vivo efficacy evaluations, we identified the potent hit candidate 2j as a novel GPR40 agonist.
