        고혈압·당뇨병 진단자의 영양표시 활용과 질환관리교육의 연관성: 2018년 지역사회건강조사 자료를 활용한 횡단연구

        Objectives: This study examined the association between the experience of disease management education and the use of nutrition labels according to the sociodemographic characteristics and health behaviors of people diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes living in the community. Methods: Among the participants from the Community Health Survey (2018), 74,283 individuals diagnosed with hypertension or diabetes were included in the study population. According to gender, this study evaluated nutrition label use by the experience of disease management education, individual sociodemographic characteristics, and health behavior. Finally, using multiple logistic regression analysis, the association between disease management education and nutrition labels was calculated using the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: Males (24.5%) experienced more disease management education than females (22.6%). In addition, younger age, higher education level, and higher equalized personal income experienced more disease management education (P < 0.001). The educational experience rate was higher in the male subjects who did not smoke or were involved in high-risk alcohol consumption (P < 0.001). In addition, the rate of disease management education experience was significantly higher for both men and women who exercised by walking (P < 0.001). The use of nutrition labels was higher in females (9.9%) than males (5.8%), and both males and females were significantly higher in young age, high education, high income, and professional and office positions (P < 0.001). The utilization rate of nutrition labels was high in non-smoking male subjects and high-risk-drinking female subjects. In addition, the utilization rate of nutrition labels was significantly higher in males and females who exercised by walking and those who experienced disease management education (P < 0.001). After adjusting for individual sociodemographic characteristics, health behavior, and disease management education, the use of nutrition labels was high among females (OR 3.19, 95% CI 2.85-3.58), high income (Q4; OR 1.62, 95% CI 1.41-1.87, Q5; OR 1.58, 95% CI 1.37-1.84) and highly educated (high school; OR 2.87, 95% CI 2.62-3.14, above college; OR 5.60, 95% CI 5.02-6.23) while it was low in the elderly (OR 0.43, 95% CI 0.40-0.47), and economically inactive (OR 0.86, 95% CI 0.76-0.96). The use of nutrition labels was high in non-smokers (OR 1.29, 95% CI 1.13-1.48), non- high-risk drinkers (OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.08-1.38), and subjects who exercised walking (OR 1.44, 95% CI 1.34- 1.54). There was no difference in the utilization rate of nutrition labels according to obesity, and the utilization rate of nutrition labels was significantly higher in subjects who had experienced disease education (OR 1.34, 95% CI 1.24-1.44). Conclusions: Education on the use of nutrition labels, which contributes to food selection for healthy eating, might be a tool for dietary management. Moreover, the utilization rate can be a good indicator for predicting the proportion of the population practicing the guide for disease management. Improving the utilization rate of nutrition labels through disease management education can be a useful intervention for people with chronic diseases who need healthy eating habits for disease management and preventing complications, particularly those diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes.

        Analysis of growth characteristics and carotenoids and phenolic compounds contents of Ixeris dentata

        Ixeris dentata is a perennial plant belongs to Compositae family and it has been considered as a potential therapeutic agent in many biological activities like detoxification, elimination of blood stasis, anti-inflammatory, and analgesia. The I. dentata used in this experiment was collected in four areas of Yangpyeong, Dangjin, Chuncheon and Goesan, then transplanted to the farm of Department of Herbal Crop Research in National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science. The growth characteristics of I. dentata were investigated after harvesting. The aboveground biomass of plants collected from Chuncheon area was exhibited best, and the biomass of root in YangPyeong was showed best as 3.65 g/plant in dry weight. Based on the HPLC analysis, the leaf of I. dentata collected from Dangjin area was highest in carotenoids contents (1,213 μg/g dry weight), and the leaf of Chuncheon area was exhibited maximal phenolic compounds (1,918 μg/g dry weight). The results of this study could provide fundamental formation for selection of standard varieties of I. dentata and development of functional material by analysis of the growth characteristics and the contents of carotenoids and phenolic compounds.

      • 도시 내 브라운 필드 연구

        우리나라는 1960년부터 1980년대까지 서울을 중심으로 제조업이 성장해왔다. 그러나 현재는 제조업이 임금 및 지가의 상승 등으로 교외나 해외지역으로 이전하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 제조업 지대가 도심 외곽지역으로 이전한 후 남은 지역을 브라운 필드로 정의하고 서울 내의 브라운 필드인 영등포구와 구로구의 발전 과정과 현황을 살펴보고 이 두 지역의 공통점과 차이점에 관하여 검토한다. 구로구와 영등포구는 과거 제조업의 핵심지역이었으나, 서로 다른 경관을 보이고 있다. 이러한 이유는 각 지역의 제조업의 역사와 특징, 입지 조건 때문이다. 첫째로 구로구는 1990년대 이후 제조업이 쇠퇴하며 제조업공단들이 첨단 디지털단지로 변모하며 보다 효율적인 토지 이용을 하게 되었다. 즉 산업의 고도화에 집중하여 크기를 키워나갔다고 볼 수 있다. 반면에, 영등포구는 1990년대 제조업이 빠져나간 뒤 대규모의 아파트단지가 건설되고 오픈 스페이스인 영등포 공원, 대형 복합시설인 디큐브시티나 타임스퀘어 등 주민들의 쾌적한 거주에 필요한 시설들 입지한 모습을 확인할 수 있다. 두 지역 브라운필드의 발전과정과 쇠퇴과정, 현황을 확인한 다음 브라운 필드와 유휴지의 연계를 통한 개발의 필요성을 확인했다. 또한 이러한 연구는 현존하는 브라운필드의 정체성을 확립하고 발전시키는데 도움이 될 것이다. 서울 내 브라운필드의 비교가 주를 이루지만, 브라운필드의 다양한 재생방안들은 과포화 상태의 서울이 더 효율적인 부지 활용을 가능케 할 것으로 기대된다. In Korea, manufacturing sector has only grown arounf Seoul from 1960C to 1980C. However, theseday manufacturing moved to suburb or overseas because of wage and land value rise. Therefore, our study defined region that remained after manufacturing zone moved to edge of town ㅡ "Brownfield". For example, we defined Yeongdeungpo-gu, Guro-gu as brownfield in Seoul. We examine developing process and present condition and inquire into region of the commonalities and the differences. Yeongdeungpo-gu and Guro-gu was core area of past manufacturing. However, there are completely different landscape. The reason is why each place"s manufacturing history, feature and geographical condition. At first, Guro-gu is changed to from manufacturing subdivision to the cutting edge digital complex since 1990C. In other words, It evolved size focusing on indeustry hightening. On the other hand, a large scale of apartment complex Yeongdeungpo Park which is open space and complex facility "Dcube city" and Time square" were constructed in Yeongdeungpo-gu in 1990s when manufacturing industry was disappeared. The research shows necessity of develop through connection of brown field and unused land after showing each city"s brown field"s develop process, decline process and present condition. In addition, the research will help to establish identity of present brown field and will suggest future plan. The research is mainly about comparison of brown field in Seoul. However, the renewal methods of brown field will suggest efficient methods of developing land.

        50세 이상 남성의 생활습관 및 식습관과 골밀도와의 관계

        Lifestyle behaviors including dietary habits are well known to play key roles in bone metabolism. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the factors affecting bone mineral density (BMD) including age, anthropometric parameters, lifestyle behaviors, and dietary habits of men aged more than 50 years. Ninety-one men, who visited health promotion center at one of the university medical centers, were divided into two groups according to the BMD: normal and osteopenia. The BMD of femoral neck in the osteopenia group was significantly lower than that of the normal group (0.77 ± 0.28 vs. 0.98 ± 0.08 g/㎠). The proportion of the regular exercisers was significantly lower in the osteopenia group than in the normal group (p = 0.027). In the osteopenia group, the femoral neck BMD was significantly decreased in smokers and coffee drinkers compared to no-smokers and no-coffee drinkers. The femoral neck BMD was increased among those who consume breakfast and beans and bean products more frequently and those with a greater meal regularity. In the normal group, the lumbar spine BMD was significantly increased among those with frequent consumption of beans and bean products. The lumbar spine BMD was significantly correlated with exercise (r = 0.263), and the femoral neck BMD with weight (r = 0.284), BMI (r = 0.324), relative body weight (r = 0.294), exercise (r = 0.269) and frequency of beans and bean products consumption (r = 0.216). These results indicate that lifestyle behaviors and dietary habits play important roles in maintaining optimum bone health in the middle-aged men. (Korean J Nutr 2009; 42(1): 59 ~ 67)

        Functional Characterization of the β-amyrin Synthase Gene Involved in Platycoside Biosynthesis in Platycodon grandiflorum

        Platycodon grandiflorum A. DC. contains a variety of triterpene saponins induced from the base structureof oleanane-type in roots. The β-amyrin synthase (bAS) plays an important role in controlling the biosynthesis oftriterpene saponins and we obtained the full-length cDNA of the gene, which is named PlgOSC1 in P. grandiflorum. To identify the PlgOSC1 products, we expressed it in heterologous yeast cells. Results of GC-MS analysis showed aunique peak that was consistent with that of the authentic β-amyrin standard with exactly the same retention time. Furthermore, the pattern of MS fragments of the peak was also exactly the same as that of the β-amyrin. In qRT-PCRanalysis of four organs of P. grandiflorum, no difference in PlgOSC1 expression level was observed; therefore, platycosidesderived from β-amyrin might be present in all P. grandiflorum tissues. In conclusion, PlgOSC1 encodes a bAS enzymethat catalyzes the first committed step of platycosides biosynthesis in P. grandiflorum.

        50세 이상 남성의 식품 및 영양소 섭취실태와 골밀도와의 관계

        Osteoporosis is a rising problem as the older age population is increasing due to prolongation of life. Genetic and environmental factors play key roles in bone metabolism and diet is also an important factor. We investigated the relationship among factors affecting bone mineral density (BMD) including daily food intake and nutrient intake in men aged >50 years. Seventy-eight men who visited the health promotion center at one of the university medical centers were divided into normal and osteopenia groups according to their BMD. The body weight of the normal group was significantly higher than that of the osteopenia group. The osteopenia group showed significantly higher carbohydrate intake and lower calcium and vegetable calcium intake compared to those in the normal group. Lumbar spine BMD was negatively correlated with energy fat vitamin B1 and sodium intake in the normal group. Additionally femoral neck BMD was negatively correlated with total animal protein energy protein fat phosphorous iron animal iron potassium vitamin B1 B2 B6 and niacin intake. Lumbar spine BMD was positively correlated with fruit calcium vegetable calcium animal calcium and vitamin C intake in the osteopenia group. Femoral neck BMD was negatively correlated with meat dairy product total animal protein plant protein animal protein vitamin A and cholesterol intake. A stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that several dietary factors affected BMD including energy fat vitamin B1 B2 B6 niacin sodium protein iron animal iron phosphorous potassium and animal protein in the normal group and zinc calcium vegetable calcium animal calcium vitamin C fruit protein animal protein meat dairy product carbohydrates cholesterol vegetables mushrooms and seasonings in the osteopenia group. These results indicate that adequate nutrient intake plays an important role maintaining optimum bone health in middle aged men.

      • 인쇄업의 입지변화

        인쇄업이란 계약 또는 수수료에 의하여 인쇄물 및 출판물을 각종 제판술로 인쇄해내는 산업 활동을 일컫는데, 산업 특징상 노동집약적인 중·소기업형 영세업종의 형태가 보편적이다. 또한, 인쇄업은 주문에 의해 생산이 진행되는 수주산업이기 때문에 소기업 간 경쟁이 매우 치열하다. 더불어 인쇄업은 높은 시장 지향성을 띄는 도시형 산업으로, 예로부터 서울로, 그중에서도 유동인구가 많고 중심업무기능이 밀집해있는 곳으로 입지하기 시작하였다. 2013년 통계청 자료를 기준으로 서울특별시 내의 인쇄업체 수는 7,997개이며, 그중 중구에 위치한 인쇄업체 수는 5,450개이다. 이로써 중구는 서울시 전체 인쇄업체의 약 68%를 차지하고 있는 인쇄업의 중심지라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 유일의 인쇄업 집적지인 중구의, 그중에서도 을지로 일대의 인쇄업이 언제, 어디서부터 시작되었는지 또한 시간의 흐름에 따라 인쇄업체의 입지 이동이 어떻게 진행되어 왔는지에 대해 분석해봄으로써 중구 인쇄업 집적지의 의의를 파악하고자 한다, 중구 지역은 조선시대부터 전통적으로 인쇄업의 중심지다. 1403(태종3)년에 주자소가 설치되었고 1800년대 이후 근대 인쇄업 또한 중구 을지로 2가를 중심으로 점차 주변 지역으로 확산되었다. 이후 1980년대 도심 재개발 정책에 따라 인쇄업 일부가 서울 외곽지역으로 이전하였지만, 최근 소규모 영세업체들이 다시 중구 을지로 일대로 재입지하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 또한, 답사를 통해 연구지역인 중구의 10개 동을 잘 정돈된 골목과 하청업체가 많은 곳, 낡고 좁은 골목들로 영세업체들이 밀집된 곳, 규모가 크고 첨단화된 곳으로 3가지의 큰 특징으로 분류하였다. 이로써 중구 을지로 일대는 시대의 흐름에 발맞춰 고유의 발전을 이룩한 우리나라 최대의 인쇄업 클러스터 지역이라고 할 수 있으며, 도시형 제조업인 인쇄업의 특성상 계속해서 중구 일대에 집적지를 이룰 것이다. Printing Business is called an industry activity that printing publication and printed matter by contract or commission. By the industry characteristic of printing business, it is universal pretty type of industry that labor-intensive of small business. Because printing business is an order made production industry, the competitions of a small-scale enterprises are very intensive. In addition, printing business is a city type industry that market oriented, so printing business has been concentrated in Seoul, that has many floating population and concentrated main function from old times. By the data of National Statics Office in 2013, there are 5,450 printing enterprises in Jung-gu and printing enterprises in Seoul are 7,997. So Jung-gu is a center of printing business that located 68% of printing enterprises. In this study, we look forward to know about Jung-gu that domestic unique printing cluster"s meaning by analysis when started cluster the whole region of Eulji-ro and moved location process as times goes by. Jung-gu has been traditional center of printing business from the Joseon period. When king Taejong period, in 1403 the typefoundry was set up and after 1800s printing business was spread out by the Eulji-ro-2-ga, Jung-gu. Since 1980s, some of the printing business enterprises relocated in outside of seoul by the urban redevelopment policy. But recently, small-scale enterprises are tend to relocate in Eulji-ro, Jung-gu area. Also, we classify 10 dong in Jung-gu into 3 groups by the big characteristics- At First, well arranged alleys and a lot of subcontractors, Second, concentrated small-scale enterprises in old and narrow allays and Third, big scale and modern region. So Eulji-ro, Jung-gu is one of the biggest printing clusters in Republic of Korea that indigenous development industry as times goes by. And printing cluster will stay in Jung-gu area by the characteristic of urban manufacturing.
