수술현미경에서의 다중형광영상을 이용한 뇌종양과 혈관영상 검출 시스템 연구

본 연구에서는 뇌 종양 수술에서 다수의 광원과 빔 스플리터 모듈을 사용해 종양과 혈관의 형광영상을 동시에 검출하고 획득한 형광영상을 동일한 디스플레이 장치에 표시함으로써 시술자에게 종양과 혈관의 정확한 정보를 실시간으로 제공할 수 있는 현미경 시스템을 제안한다. 5-ALA(5-Aminolevulinic acid) 와 ICG(Indocyanine green) 의 형광영상의 동시 검출을 위해 빔 스플리터(beam-splitter : BS)모듈을 사용하였고 5-ALA는 600nm, ICG는 800nm이상의 파장 대역에서 가장 효율이 뛰어나도록 구성하였다. 빔 스플리터 모듈은 파장 대역에 따라 광학기기의 구조를 변경할 수 있고 필터를 탈, 착 가능한 구조로 설계하여 필요에 따라 빔 스플리터와 필터의 종류를 변경할 수 있으며 5-ALA 및 ICG 이외의 형광염료를 사용한 시술에서 사용할 수 있다. 빔 스플리터 모듈을 통한 형광영상은 5-ALA는 가시광역, ICG는 근적외선 영역을 검출 할 수 있는 CCD 카메라를 장착해 동일한 디스플레이에서 확인할 수 있고 획득한 형광영상은 닮음 변환(similarity transform)을 이용해 원영상과 정합하여 실시간으로 시술자에게 제공하는 시스템을 구현하였다.
전침자극과 경피신경전기자극이 흰쥐 좌골신경 압좌손상 후 척수내 GAP-43 발현에 미치는 영향

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) and transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation(TENS) after sciatic nerve crush injury in rats. Methods: The EA for experimental group I (Exp I, n=15) and TENS for experimental group II (Exp II, n=15) was applied from post-injury day(PD) 1 to PD 14 after sciatic nerve injury using low frequency stimulator that gave electrical stimulation(15min/60Hz). In order observe the effect of EA and TENS, this study examined GAP-43 expression in rat lumbar spinal cord at the PD 1, PD 7 and PD 14. In addition, the stride length(SL) and toe out angle(TOA) were measured at the PD 7 and PD 4. Results; Exp I and Exp II had higher GAP-43 immunoreactivity than control group(PD 1, 7, 14). The SL of Exp I and Exp II were significantly higher than control group(PD 7, 14). The TOA of Exp I and Exp II were significantly lower than control group(PD 7, 14). Conclusion: EA and TENS application increased motor nerve recovery and expression of GAP-43 immunoreactivity after sciatic nerve crush injury. Therefore effect of TENS and EA had similar effect on nerve regeneration and functional recovery.
반응소결된 Si<sub>3</sub>N<sub>4</sub>-SiO<sub>2</sub>-BN 복합체의 기계적 강도 및 유전물성에 관한 연구

Silicon nitride ($Si_3N_4$) is regarded as one of the most promising materials for high temperature structural applications due to its excellent mechanical properties at both room and elevated temperatures. However, one high-temperature $Si_3N_4$ material intended for use in radomes has a relatively high dielectric constant of 7.9 - 8.2 at 8 - 10 GHz. In order to reduce the dielectric constant of the $Si_3N_4$, an in-situ reaction process was used to fabricate $Si_3N_4-SiO_2$-BN composites. In the present study, an in-situ reaction between $B_2O_3$ and $Si_3N_4$, with or without addition of BN in the starting powder mixture, was used to form the composite. The in-situ reaction process resulted in the uniform distribution of the constituents making up the composite ceramic, and resulted in good flexural strength and dielectric constant. The composite was produced by pressure-less sintering and hot-pressing at $1650^{\circ}C$ in a nitrogen atmosphere. Microstructure, flexural strength, and dielectric properties of the composites were evaluated with respect to their compositions and sintering processes. The highest flexural strength (193 MPa) and lowest dielectric constant (5.4) was obtained for the hot-pressed composites. The strength of these $Si_3N_4-SiO_2$-BN composites decreased with increasing BN content.

Poor expertise in equipment operation and installation, coupled with unpredictable natural disaster, usually directly leads to disastrous accidents of large lifting equipment such as tower cranes. For example, 52 tower cranes fell down due to the unstable support in Korea at the attack of Typhoon "Maemi" in 2003, which damaged property and caused loss of life. In high-rise construction projects, top-slewing or luffing-jib tower cranes needs checking the stability of lateral-support in addition to the bottom support such as the foundation. In this study, the optimization algorithm for lateral-support of tower cranes is conducted, which is expected to enhance the structural stability of tower cranes and save the cost in conflict with the safety.

Infection by aspergillus, which is a kind of mold, or a filamentous fungus, occurs rarely in larynx. Furthermore, primary laryngeal aspergillosis without any other airway tract extension and without any generalized immune deficit is extremely rare. We present a case of primary aspergillosis on vocal cord in a 72-year-old male who had no history of immune deficiency, voice abuse or steroid use.

As customers are becoming increasingly important in corporate management, there is a growing demand for migration to customer-focused organizational structures. Unlike the manufacturing industry, the construction industry is non-iterative and non-standardized. As a result, a wide variety of materials, human resources, technologies and equipment must be mobilized in complex work activities to complete a structure. Consequently, surprises are bound to occur as such work activities progress. This paper intends to study a strategy that is designed to improve customer services for apartment building units. It aims primarily to focus on cost control and brand management. Housing tenants and industry experts are surveyed to collect input for issue analysis. In addition, the external circumstances and internal capabilities of major builders in Korea are analyzed, and a SWOT analysis is performed regarding market conditions related to customer service. These analysis results are utilized to develop a strategy implementation plan over different time frames, and the operational resources available for such strategy implementation are analyzed in order to forecast its performance. This research will facilitate communication between construction companies in Korea and their customers by proposing a customer service improvement strategy for apartment building units, and is expected to provide resource material for a strategic analysis of efforts to fully incorporate customer requirements

This study was aimed to provide the fundamental and various measurement data of the head and face for male children. Two hundred forty one male children, aged nine to twelve years, participated for this study. The 31 regions on the head and face of the subjects were directly measured by the expert experimenters. Through factor analysis, the six factors were extracted upon factor scores and those factors comprised $67.47\%$ for the total variances. The first factor was described the general height elements for the mouth and the environs of the mouth. The second factor was described the general height around the nose, forehead and eyes. The third factor was described the height of the ear environs. The forth factor contained the length around the sinciput to the occiput, the head thick and the head circumstance. The fifth factor was described the general width of the outer head and the corner of the eyes. The last factor contained the depth of the mouth and nose. Four clusters as their head and face shape were categorized using six factor scores by cluster analysis. Type 1 was characterized by the shortest head and face width, surface length and girth, and the shorter length of head, but the highest position of chin, philtrum, upper lip. Type 2 was characterized by the shortest head and face length and thickness, and the lowest position of the forehead, eye, nose, mouth, ear environs, but that had wider width of head and face. Type 3 was characterized by the longest and the widest head and face type, and the highest position of the mouth. Type 4 was characterized by longer length of head and face, and the widest head girth and largest head thickness, and the highest position of the forehead, eye, nose environs. And this type had the widest width of nose and mouth, and the longest head surface length.
미세전류치료가 류마티스 관절염 유발 흰쥐의 Interleukin-1 발현에 미치는 영향

Purpose: Electrical stimulation is one of several treatments recommended for RA patients. Electrical stimulation of RA patients, reduces pain, or facilitates joint motion prior to exercises. However, there is still limited evidence on the efficacy of electrical stimulation and thus any conclusions drawn about this method remain controversial. Recently, Microcurrent Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (MENS) has received significant attention as a potential method of electrical stimulation. In this study, we investigated the effect of microcurrent treatment in rheumatoid arthritis rat. Methods: Subjects were allocated either to the control group or experimental group, which was subject to microcurrent stimulation. Interleukin-1 expression in the metatarsophlangeal joint and the oedema index in the ankle were used for classification and subsequent evaluation of pathology. Subjects were assessed at 1, 7 and 14 days after inducing rheumatoid arthritis through adjuvant injection. Thirty-six subjects, 18 in each group, were used in this study. Statistical analysis was performed by calculating the differences between the two groups and between each interval assessment. Categorical variables were compared between the two groups with the paired-T test. The one-way ANOVA test was performed to assess changes in ordinal variables. Results: Baseline characteristics were similar in both groups. Statistically significant differences were found between the two groups. The biological marker of pro-inflammatory cytokine and oedema index were decreased in response to this treatment. Conclusion: These data show that treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with a microcurrent stimulation device reduced the oedema index and pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1.
갑상선유두상암에서 종양의 크기에 대한 수술 전 초음파검사소견과 수술 후 병리조직검사소견의 비교

Background and Objectives: Size of thyroid tumor is one of important parameters in making decision for the surgical extent of thyroid resection and necessity of lymph node dissection in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Although tumor size by pathologic finding is important to evaluate the prognosis of patient with PTC, the decision of surgical extent depend on the preoperative ultrasonographic tumor size. The purpose of this study is to compare primary tumor size between preoperative ultrasonographic and pathologic results in PTC. Materials and Methods: From March 2008 to February 2009, 105 patients (22 males, 83 females) with PTC who were undergone ultrasonographic examination within 3 months before operation were reviewed retrospectively. We measured the longest diameter of tumor in both ultrasonographic findings and pathogic results and were compared with size according to tumor nature (solid vs mixed types) in both examination. Data was analyzed by linear regression analysis. Results: Mean preoperative ultrasonographic tumor size were greater than pathologic size. Decreasing rate of tumor size are 15.7% in all cases and 7.7% in the solid type. The tumor size by preoperative ultrasonosgraphy are strong correlation with size of pathologic results in all cases (n=105, γ<sup>2</sup>= 0.602, p<0.05) and solid type (n=97, γ<sup>2</sup>=0.706, p<0.05). But there is no significant correlation with size measured by ultrasonographic and pathologic findings in mixed type (n=8, γ<sup>2</sup>=208, p>0.05). Conclusion: There are some size discrepancy between preoperative ultrasonographic findings and pathologic results, especially mixed type. The decision of surgical extent based on preoperative ultrasonographic finding would be considered its size discrepancy.
