Biohydrogen is a clean and efficient source of energy produced easily by anaerobic systems. Therefore, thediscovery of novel and efficient production methods and utilization of inexpensive starting material are crucial for economicalbiohydrogen production. In this study, novel hydrogen producing bacterial strain Clostridium sp. SH25 wasscreened from the anaerobic sludge obtained from a water treatment plant, which showed a higher hydrogen-producingactivity on glycerol than other strains. The effective hydrogen production was evaluated under varying anaerobicculture conditions, and the optimum temperature, initial pH, additional NaCl concentration, and inoculum size were37 oC, 6.0, 0%, and 10% (v/v), respectively. The cumulative hydrogen production volume from crude glycerol was24.30±1.07ml after 36 h. To test the practical application of biohydrogen, a 20ml culture of Clostridium sp. SH25 wasincubated for 12 h and directly applied to a small hydrogen car unit operated for 19.05±0.33 s with 8.37±0.21m displacement. Overall, identification of the efficient Clostridium sp. SH25 strain resulted in the production of a largeamount of biohydrogen, which further supported the operation of a small hydrogen car. This implied a possible applicationof biosystems in biohydrogen production.

그런데《法華經驚驗記》가 일본에 현존하고 있다는 사실이 최근에 한국 학계에 알려졌다. 일본 東京大學 도서관에는 沙門 寂撰의《法華經集驗記》상하 2권이 소장되어 있었다. 이것이 신라 의적의 저술임이 일본 학계에 소개된 것은 1980년의 일이다. 그리고 다읍 해인 1981년에는 賣重古典刊行會에서 영인본으로 간행했다. 필자는《佛敎史硏究》이 영인본을 간단환 해제와 함께 소개한 바 있지만, 어제 불 소고에서는 보다 자세히 살펴보고자 한다.

보리심은 큰바람과도 같고, 활활 타오르는 불꽃과도 같다. 善財童子가 진리를 구하기 위해서 칼산에 올라가 볼 속으로 몸을 던지듯, 구도자는 보리심을 풍불 삼아 바다를 건너고 사막을 넘는다‘ 이미 죽음까지도 각오한 구도자에게 두려울 것은 아무 것도 없다. 신라의 求法僧들도 역시 그랬다. 7세기 전반부터 그들은 히말라야산을 넘었고, 天竺의 여러 성지를 순례했으며, 나란타대학에서 유학하기도 했다. 당나라의 義淨(635 ~ 713)은《大唐西域求法僧傳》에 구법승 61명의 전기를 수록했는데, 이 신라의 구법승 7명과 고구려승 1명이 있어서 주목된다. 즉 阿離那城摩 ? 慧業 ? 玄太? 玄洛 ? 慧輪 ? 玄遊 등이다. 일찍이 覺訓은 이들의 전기를 읽고 지극히 사모하는 마음으로 《海東高僧傳》에 이들 구법승의 전기를 수록한 바 있다. 一然 또한《三國遺事》에서 신라의 서역구 법승에 관해서 서술하고서 다음과 같이 讚하가도 했다.

華嚴寺는 오랜 역사와 높은 寺格을 자랑하는 名刺이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 이 절에 관한 역사 가록은 너무나 적고, 事題記가 전해오지만 많은 오류로 인한 여러 문제가 있다. 화엄사의 역사에서 일차적으로 규명해야 할 과제는 이 절의 창건자와 창건 연대이다. 창건자를 緣起라고 하는가 하면, 道詵이라고 한 경우도 있고, 창건 연대에 대해서도 544년 설과 755년 설, 그리고 875년 설 등이 있기 때문이다. 일찍이 今西龍은 中觀이 찬술한《華嚴寺事題》의 여러 오류를 자세히 지적한 바 있고, 緣起와 관련된 新羅華嚴經寫經敵文이 발견되기도 했다. 그러나 화염사의 창건 시기에 대해서 자세히 논의한 경우는 아직 없다. 이에 본고에서는《華嚴寺事題》의 신빙성 문제를 검토하고 연기의 화엄사 창건과 그 시기에 대해서 살펴보고자 하는 것이다.

During central venous catheterization, a guidewire may cause various complications ranging from temporary arrhythmia to a pericardial tamponade. The arrhythmia occurring during the insertion of a guidewire is not uncommon and requires almost no therapy. However, persistent atrial fibrillation during and after central venous catheterization is a rare complication. We report a case of persistent atrial fibrillation that occurred during the insertion of a guidewire and was, treated with electric cardioversion.
