Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between cigarette smoking and total mortality, cancer mortality and other disease mortalities in Korean adults. Methods: A total of 14 161 subjects of the Korean Multi-center Cancer Cohort who were over 40 years of age and who were cancer-free at baseline enrollment reported their lifestyle factors, including the smoking status. The median follow-up time was 6.6 years. During the follow-up period from 1993 to 2005, we identified 1159 cases of mortality, including 260 cancer mortality cases with a total of 91 987 person-years, by the national death certificate. Cox proportional hazard regression model was used to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) of cigarette smoking for total mortality, cancer mortality and disease-specific mortality, as adjusted for age, gender, the geographic area and year of enrollment, the alcohol consumption status, the education level and the body mass index (BMI). Results: Cigarette smoking was significantly associated with an increased risk of total mortality, all-cancer mortality and lung cancer mortality (p-trend, < 0.01, <0.01, <0.01, respectively). Compared to non-smoking, current smokers were at a higher risk for mortality [HR (95% CI)=1.3 (1.1 - 1.5) for total mortality; HR (95% CI)=1.6 (1.1 -2.2) for all-cancer mortality; HR (95% CI)=3.9 (1.9-7.7) for lung cancer mortality]. Conclusions: This study's results suggest that cigarette smoking might be associated with total mortality, all-cancer mortality and especially lung cancer mortality among Korean adults.

간호대학생의 생명의료윤리 의식과 간호전문직관과의 관계

Purpose. This study purposed to examine consciousness of biomedical ethics and nursing professional values in nursing students. In addition, by identifying the relationship between consciousness of biomedical ethics and their nursing professional values. Methods. We collected data from 184 nursing students using a structured questionnaire, which were constructed to include Consciousness of biomedical ethics and Nursing professional values. The collected data was analyzed descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients with SPSS 20.0 Results. Average score for consciousness of biomedical ethics in nursing students was $2.92{\pm}.16$ and that of nursing professional values was $3.61{\pm}.34$. Among the sub-areas of consciousness of biomedical ethics, right to life of newborn was highest. In addition, among the sub-area of nursing professional values, The roles of nursing service was highest. A statistically significant positive correlation was observed between consciousness of biomedical ethics and their nursing professional values in nursing students. Conclusion. The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to increase the consciousness of biomedical ethics and to encourage nursing professional values.

Effects of Facemask Therapy for Class III Malocclusions in Patients with Different Vertical Skeletal Patterns

본 연구의 목적은 3급 부정교합 환자에서 facemask 치료 시 수직적 골격 양상에 따른 치료 효과를 비교하고, 구내 장치로서 bonded expander의 고정원을 평가하는 것이다. Facemask 치료를 받은 20명의 환자를 대상으로 FMA를 기준으로 두 군으로 분류하였고(HV군; FMA > $27^{\circ}$, AV군; $23^{\circ}$ < FMA < $27^{\circ}$), 치료 전과 후 측모두부방사선사진을 촬영하여 계측치를 비교하였다. 치료 후 두 군 모두 상악의 전방이동 및 하악의 후하방 회전이 관찰되었고, 두 군간에 유의한 차이는 없었다. 두 군 모두 수직적 골격 계측치가 증가하였고, FMA의 증가량은 HV군이 AV군에 비해 유의하게 크게 관찰되었다. 고정원 소실로서 상악구치의 근심이동 및 상악 전치의 전방경사가 관찰되었고, 두 군간에 유의한 차이는 없었다. 결론적으로 수직적 골격 양상에 따라 상악의 전방이동 및 고정원 소실면에서는 유의한 차이가 없었으나, HV군에서 수직적 성장 경향이 더 증가하였다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the skeletal and dentoalveolar effects of facemask therapy and to compare the anchorage of a bonded expander in patients with Class III malocclusion and different vertical skeletal patterns. Twenty subjects with Class III malocclusion were included in this study and were treated with a facemask and bonded expander. Based on the FMA, subjects were divided into two groups of 10 patients each: a high vertical group (HV; mean FMA $33.56^{\circ}$) and an average vertical group (AV; mean FMA $24.88^{\circ}$). Lateral cephalograms were taken and evaluated before and after treatment. In both groups, forward movement of the maxilla and backward rotation of the mandible were observed after treatment, with no statistical differences between the groups. Vertical skeletal variables increased in both groups, but the increase of FMA was significantly larger in the HV group than the AV group. Mesial movement of maxillary molars and proclination of maxillary incisors which indicate anchorage loss of bonded expander were observed in both groups, with no significant differences between the groups. In conclusion, facemask therapy resulted in effective maxillary protraction in both HV and AV groups. However, the open bite tendency was increased more in the HV group.

단독주택을 8-10가구의 다세대 주택으로 용도를 바꾸는 '지분 쪼개기' 때문에 최근 서울을 비롯한 수도권 곳곳에서 다세대 주택 신축 붐이 일고 있다. 서울시가 무분별한 지분 쪼개기를 막기 위해 가구당 전용 면적 $60m^2$ 미만 주택은 입주권을 주지 않고 돈으로 청산하는 방식으로 규제하겠다는 방침을 밝혔지만, 현장에서는 다세대나 빌라 신축 공사가 더욱 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 게다가 조례를 개정하는 7월 전까지 건축 허가를 받으면 면적에 상관없이 입주권을 받을 수 있다는 점을 노린 막판 투기가 기승을 부리고 있어 논란이 일고 있다.

This thesis examines the meaning and value of the plays of Dramatist Lee Hyun-hwa(이현화) who represents the experimental play during the 1970s. In the 1970s when ``the theatre of absurd`` began to bloom, playwriter Lee Hyun-hwa started to raise questions on human nature through his theatre of absurd. This thesis regards "Ostrakismos" written by a writer Lee, Hyun-hwa as a play to explain his work nature by the writer himself. Lee Hyun-hwas is a writer of theater of an absurd, since 1970s he was evaluated as a complicated writer, and at that time he was even harshly criticized by his audiences. He hoped for his audiences` deep understanding in his play by saying that one cannot see the woods for the trees. "Ostrakismos" by Lee Hyunhwa has presented examples of views looking at the work of art and his stance as a writer through epic narrator and metathetheoretical elements. With his play, we can understand writers` wishes on how audiences understand his own plays and how the plays can affect our real lives.

환상, 억압된 심리적 실체의 복원

문학에서 환상은 비실재적인 것을 설득력 있게 구상·발전시킴으로써 인물의 내면세계를 의미화 하는 것으로, 억압된 욕망을 복원·인식하려는 독특한 방식의 기법이다. 이준연의 동화「지워지지 않는 일기」,「인형이 가져 온 편지」에 나타난 환상은 인간의 욕망을 가시화하는 방식으로 심리적 실체를 형상화한다. 개성적 인물의 행동으로 독자의 흥미와 호기심을 자극하고, 독자를 인물의 정서와 인성에 휘말리게 하며, 해결해야할 문제 혹은 수수께끼를 제기한다. 문제 해결과 수수께끼는 바로 일기와 꿈이라는 환상을 통해 구체적으로 나타나며 그 해독 과정을 통해 궁금증이 해소된다. 인물의 충동적 행동은 갈등을 심화·확장시키고 그로 인한 불안 심리와 죄의식이 ‘일기(문학)’와 ‘꿈’이라는 환상을 통해 역동적 힘을 발휘 한다. 현실 이면의 것을 상징적으로 보여주는 꿈은 작가에 의해 정교하게 변용되어 인물의 억압·은폐된 욕망을 구체화하면서 사건을 흥미롭게 만든다. 「지워지지 않는 일기」가 한 인물(인간)의 현실을 중심으로 꿈과 일기를 통해 욕망을 표출했다면,「인형이 가져 온 편지」는 무생물의 환상세계를 중심으로 인물(인간)의 내면을 보다 구체화·복합화 한다. 환유적 대체물인 무생물과 현실적 인물의 교차·대비, 초자연적 인물의 마법적 환상, 분신 모티프가 주체에 안착하는 여정을 통해 인물의 문제적 현실과 불안정한 심리 상태를 생생하게 표현할 뿐만 아니라 현실로부터 도피·소외·배제되어 가는 문제를 드러낸다. 환상을 통해 욕망을 복원함으로써 이를 객관적으로 보고 주관적 세계와 객관적 세계를 분별할 수 있게 한다. 작품에서 위반과 전복의 환상은 현실과 소통하는 방향으로 나아가는 작가의 주제의식을 내포하며 질서, 체계, 권위가 변형된 세계로 성찰과 교정의 기능을 한다. 조화와 균형을 회복할 수 있는 치유와 소통의 장(場)으로서 성격의 안정화를 이루는 핵심이 된다. In children`s story of Lee Junyeon, fantasy is the technique showing unstable psychology of character and recovering suppressed desire by strange form. Through the fantasy of「Indelible diary」and「Letter brought by dol l」, uneasiness and sense of guilt are shown by diary, letter, dream and inanimate world and dynamic power is displayed while tension is deepened. The process that exchange of inanimate object, metonymic alternative, and realistic character, spell of supernatural character and alter ego motif approach the subject expresses abnormal realities of character and unstable psychology vividly. Also, it shows the problems of escape· neglect·exclusion from realities to fantasy. Lee Junyeon recovers satisfaction of concealed·suppressed desire through the fantasy and induces stability of personality so that character can recover harmony and balance. Fantasy is changed reality and plays functions that escaped·neglected·excluded psychology is treated and correction is done for communication.
