Partial anomalous pulmonary venous return is a rare congenital pulmonary venous anomaly, in which some of the pulmonary veins drain into the systemic circulation rather than the left atrium. Many variants of partial anomalous pulmonary venous return have been reported. We present a rare type of partial anomalous pulmonary venous return in which the anomalous left upper lobe pulmonary vein drained into the left innominate vein via the vertical vein, accompanying the left upper lobe pulmonary vein in the normal location. 부분 폐정맥 환류 이상은 폐에서 발생하는 선천성 정맥 기형의 드문 형태로, 폐정맥의 일부가 좌심방과 연결되지 못하고 체순환계로 배출되는 질환이다. 다양한 형태의 부분 폐정맥 환류 이상들이 그동안 보고되어 왔다. 본 증례에서, 저자들은 정상 좌상폐정맥에 의한 정상적인 환류를 보이면서, 동시에 수직정맥을 통해 좌측 무명정맥으로도 부분적인 환류 이상을 보이는 좌상엽의 부분 폐정맥 환류 이상의 예를 보고하고자 한다.

Heating cables, widely used in office buildings, factories, streets and railways, deteriorate in electricalinsulation during operation. The insulation deterioration of heating cables leads to electric discharges that can causeelectrical fires. With this background, this paper dealt with a condition monitoring technique for heating cables by theanalysis of discharge signals to prevent electrical fires. Insulation deterioration was simulated using an arc generatorspecified in UL1699 under AC operation, and the characteristic and propagation of discharge signals were analyzed on a 100 meter-long heating cable. Discharge signals produced by insulation deterioration were detected as a voltage pulse because they are as small as a few mV and they are attenuated through propagation path. The frequency spectrum of discharge signals mainly existed in the range from 70 kHz to 110 kHz, and the maximumattenuation of the signal was 84.8% at 100 meters away from the discharge point. Based on the experimental results, a monitoring device, which is composed of a high pass filter with the cut-off frequency of 70 kHz, a comparator, a wave shaper and a microprocessor, was designed and fabricated. Also, an algorithm was designed to discriminate the discharge signal in the presence of noise, compared with the pulse repetition period and the number of pulse counts per 100ms. In the experiment, the result showed that the prototype monitoring device could detect and discriminate the discharge signals produced at every discharge point on a heating cable.
MRI Findings of Post-Traumatic Osteomyelitis of Distal Phalanx Following Neglected Open Fracture

Careful radiologic examination of the osteolytic lesion is important for patients with fracture. Differential diagnosis includes osteonecrosis, neoplasm and infections. In this report, we presented MRI findings of post-traumatic osteomyelitis following neglected open fracture of 3rd distal phalanx with open wound. Early suspicion and imaging of wound or soft tissue inflammation around osteolytic lesion could be helpful for diagnosis of osteomyelitis.
