Economic Valuation of Unpaid Work in Korea
Kwon, Tae Hee Research Institute of Asian Women Sookmyung Women' 2005 Asian Women Vol.21 No.-
The measurement of economic value on the unpaid work, corresponding to a household's non-market production, has been performed since 1920's through numerous studies. The field of studies is recently facing newfound attention and necessity to find a more appropriate method for measuring unpaid work. As the United Nation's recommendation for "A New System of National Accounts" redirected related studies to develop a satellite account that measures estimated value of unpaid work as a supplementary index to the household sector of the national accounts since the 1990s. In Korea, unpaid work by women was not measured because the Time Use Survey Data was not available. The purpose of this study is to estimate the value of the productive unpaid work-like housework, food preparation, household maintenance, cleaning, construction and repairs, shopping and services, household management, child care, adult care and volunteer services-performed by overall women in Korea based on the Time Use Survey Data of 1999 published at the National Statistics Office (NSO). The measurement methods used are individual function replacement cost method; generalist replacement cost method, gross opportunity cost method; net opportunity cost method, and integrated cost method. The results of this study show that the total share of women's unpaid work in the "Enlarged GDP" ranges between 21.8 and 27.7%, but the men's share ranges between 4.9 and 5.4%. This work identifies key components of a household's production in the Korean economy, and the estimation of non-market production facilitates comparative analysis with the relevant data of developed countries, and reexamines the contribution to the nation's economic growth made by women's unpaid work.

The study was conducted to evaluate the difference of life style, subjective symptoms and health cognition depending on the Sasang Constitution in the industrial workers. The results were as follows ; Constitutional distribution among exposed group were Tae-eum In(38.4%), So-eum In(35.2%), and So-yang In(26.4%) and it was turned out that Tae-eum In took a higher portion of Sasang constitution than other constitutions in technician workers. 'Exercise' and 'Obesity' were found most in Tae-eum In, In So-eum In there were many 'Normal' weight and 'Having digestive disorders' were found most in So-eum In. There were no significant difference in the health cognition among the constitutions. The closer to 'normal' weight, the higher prevalence in 'having' concern about health condition and the more 'normal' condition in sleeping, the higher prevalence of 'having' self-confident in present health.
Peroxiredoxin V Regulates Aco2, Acadm, and Acox1 Activity in Hypoxic Kidney

Peroxiredoxin V, an atypical thioredoxin peroxidase, is widely expressed in mammalian tissues. In addition, Prdx V is localized in mitochondria, peroxisome, cytosol, and nucleus. Prdx V has been reported to protect a wide range of cellular environments as antioxidant enzyme, and its dysfunctions may be implicated in several diseases, such as cancer, inflammation, and neurodegenerative disease. Identification and relative quantification of proteins affected by Prdx V may help identify novel signaling mechanisms that are important for oxidative stress response. However, the role of Prdx V in the modulation of hypoxia‐related cellular response is not studied yet. In order to examine the function of endogenous Prdx V in hypoxic condition in vivo, we generated a transgenic mouse model with Prdx V siRNA expression controlled by U6 promoter. Of many tissues, the knockdown of Prdx V expression was displayed in kidney, lung, and liver, but not spleen and skin. We conducted on the basis of nano‐UPLC‐MSE proteomic study to identify the Prdx V‐affected protein networks in hypoxic kidneys. In this study, we identified protein networks associated with oxidative stress, fatty acid metabolism, and mitochondrial dysfunction. Our results indicated that Prdx V affected to regulation of kidney homeostasis under hypoxia stress.

This study was intended to perform cephalometric analysis of the facial soft tissue profile after surgical correction of skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion after SSRO in 29 patients (Males 12, females 17). Lateral cephalograms were taken in centric occlusion before and immediate, long term after surgeries. 1. Counter-clockwise rotation of mandible was observed after the surgery, average relapses of mandibular set back were 1.23-1.28mm. The net effects of the mandibular set-back after surgeries were 81.7-82.2%. Because these relapse tendencies may reduce the effects of the surgical outcomes, surgeon must consider these net before the surgical treatment planning. 2. The ratio of horizontal changes of hard tissue to soft tissue at lower lip, mentolabial sulcus, pogonion were 72.7-93.7%, 100.3%, 99.1-102.1% respectively. There were little changes at upper lip position anteroposteriorly. 3. The relationship of upper and lower lips were improved after surgery. Lower lip was posteriorly repostioned and upper lip was flattend and elongated in conjunction with deepening of inferior lobial sulcus. But profile of chin was still prominent after surgery. 4. Hard tissue horizontal changes and tissue vertical changes were significantly correlated with each other and there were reverse correlations with hard tissue vertical changes and soft tissue horizontal changes.
High Pressure Liquid Chromatography에 의한 김치중의 Nitrosodimethylamine의 檢出
李泰圭,權泰英,梁熙天 又石大學校 1983 論文集 Vol.5 No.-
Winter Kimchi added with salted Anchovy was fermented for 25 days at 5℃. Then, this Kimchi was gone under the process of steam distillation with alkaline condictions, and High Pressure Liquid Chromatography was employed to detect nitrosodimethylamine(NDMA). It was concluded that NDMA contents and recovery ratio were 0.15ppm and 61.0%, repectively. Sucrose and radish juice effected on the formation of NDMA in Kimchi.

A phasor extraction algorithm based on a modified least square error method which can be used for a high speed digital distance relay is proposed. To obtain stable phasor values very quickly, first, a lowpass filter which has very short transient period and no overshoot is used. Secondly, the conventional least square error method is modified to the one having the data window of 3 samples by applying a FIR filter which removes the DC-offset component in current relaying signals.
