      • Removal of Cochlodinium polykrikoides using a novel material produced from sediment - A field study

        The present study was conducted in three fields at Namhae to examine the removal efficiency of organic free, heavy metal immobilized sediment on Cochlodinium polykrikoidesand on sea water quality. The present study results concluded that removal efficiency was depends on the initial number of red tide cells. There was no drastic change in the sea water quality after sediment spray. For the comparison of effectiveness of betonite, zeolite and lime were mixed with sediment did not show any marked difference in removal. Finally, the present study evaluated 5Og/m² sediment is Sufficient to remove 100% cells density, even though various environmental factors are interfering the mechanism.

      • 유연구조물의 잔류진동제어를 위한 시간지연기법 연구

        본 논문에서는 유연한 부착물을 갖는 우주구조물의 회전 시 발생할 수 있는 잔류진동을 최소화하고 또한 그 응용 범위가 넓은 입력설계 방법과 등가화 된 시간 지연기법을 다루었다. 먼저 Singh과 Vadali가 제안한 제어기를 이용하여 하나의 모드에 대한 시간 지연 제어기를 설계하고 입력설계 방법과 등가화 됨을 보였다. 그리고 실제 모델에 대한 적용과 해석을 위하여 우주구조물에서 많이 사용되는 유연구조물의 운동방정식을 유도하고 해석하였고, 실험을 통하여 입력 설계 방법과 시간 지연 기법을 이용한 잔류 진동 제어에 대한 성능이 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다. In this paper, the time-delay control (TDC) design methods for command signals to minimize the induced residual vibration followed by the maneuvers of the flexible structures has been studied. The equivalence between the time-delay control and the input shaping control has been shown and TDC is applied to control the residual vibration of the flexible structure in this study. It has been shown by a series of simulation and experiments that TDC is very effective to suppress the residual vibration of flexible structure induced by its maneuvers.

      • 자발성 뇌교출혈 환자의 예후에 관한 임상 분석

        Patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage very often develop setvere disturbances of consciousness,pupilary abnormalities, respiratory and motor. They have high mortality rate. Therefore, I analyzed the correlation between the Glasgow outcome scale(GOS)and clincial manifestations or computed tomographic(CT)findings in 48 patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage to clarify factors predicting the prognosis. I examined 48 Patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage; 33 males and 15 females, age 54.6±8.99(mean±S.D.;range 39 to 68)brought to our hospital between January 1995 and December 1999, retrospectively. Correlations between the clinical manifestations, CT findings and the GOS was assessed with multivariate regression analysis. The results were as follow: 1) Patients with the pontine hemorrhage were of 8.8% in those with intracerebral hemorrhage. The ratio of male and female was 33 to 15. The incidence of age is eqial to 40,50 and 60. Total mortality was 41.6%. 2) The poor prognostic factor were that; Glasgow coma scale(GCS)3∼8, irregular respiration. pupilary abnormality, quadriplegia, Brain CT typeⅠ(massive), hydrocephalus, extrapontine extension, Intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH). These clinical analysis should be useful in determining the level of care and future resuscitative efforts.

      • 어린이집 영유아의 성장ㆍ발달에 관한 종단적 연구(Ⅱ)

        The purpose of this study was to investigate longitudinal growth and development of young children and follow-up effects of the educare program in the PNU Day Care Center. Particularly, the first objective of this second report of study was the comparison the entire domains of development with age between the Oct. of 1995 and the Dec. of 1998. The second objective was to analyze the developmental .changes of 5 children who entered the center in 4 years old since Oct. 1995. The subjects of this study were 448 children(241 boys, 207 girls). The instruments of this study were the KISC and KEDl-WISC(for intelligence test), the Learning Readiness Test, the Social and Emotional Scale, Height Scale and Weight Scale( for physical growth). The tests were carried out 2 times per year (the early of the year and the late of the year). Results from comparsion across the 1st through 7th tests during 3 years indicated that the mean of the height was increased about 1-8cm for all of 2-5 years old children. The mean of the weight also was increased about 1.5-4.0kg except 2 years old children. The intelligence score (T score) by KISC was increased around 6-42 points except 6 years old boys and girls. In the intelligence score by KEDl, there was improvements of average 8 points for 7 years old children. In the learning Readiness Test of 5, 6 years old children, the scores all of children except 6 years old girls got were decreased. The scores of 6 years old girls were incresed 6 points in the Dec. of 1998. In the Social and Emotional Scale, there was big improvement of scores between in the 1st test and in the 7th test. These results were discussed in the view of sample size, developmental characteristics, test instruments and educare program of the PNU day care center.

      • 유산소 운동 능력의 차이가 점증최대운동부하 후 피로회복과정에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the effects of aerobic capacity on blood lactate changes after supramaximal progressive loaded exercise. The subjects were divided into Handball players(HB, n=6)group and Control(CT, n=6)group. All subjects exercised according to the protocol by bicycle erogometer. Blood lactate concentration was also measured during the test time. The RER values of CT group were relatively higher than that of HB group. In particular, the RER values of HR group at exercise 8 & 12min were significantly lower than that of CT group(P<0.05). The blood lactate concentration of HB group was significantly lower than that of CT group at 12min during the exercise(P<0.05). During the recovery times the blood lactate concentration of HB group were significantly lower than that of CT group. In addition, blood lactate clearance of HB group was also higher than that of CT group during the recovery time. From these results, it was suggested that lactate clearance during the supramaximal exercise may be affected by the level of endurance exercise performance.

        국내에서 생장한 Kenaf의 해부학적 특성

        국내에서 재배한 kenaf의 해부학적 특성을 광학현미경법으로 조사하였다. Kenaf의 수피부에는 인피섬유, 사부방사조직, 피층유세포 등이 존해하였고, 목질부는 도관, 목섬유, 방사조직 등으로 구성되어 있었다. 도관은 고립관공과 2~3개가 방사방향으로 복합한 복합관공이 많이 존재하였고, 방사조직은 평복, 직립, 방형세포가 모두 분포하고 있었다. 접선단면에서 방사조직은 단열 및 다열방사조직으로 구성되었다. 수피비의 인피섬유층은 생장기간과 함께 증가하였다. Anatomical properties of Kenaf cultivated in Korea was investigated using light microscopy. Bast fiber, phloem ray and cortex parencyma cell were observed in bast, and vessel, wood fiber and rat in core. A lot of solitary and multiple radial pores in core existed. The cell type of ray parenchyma in radial section was procumbent, upright and square sell. Uniseriate and multiseriate rays existed in tangential section. The layer of bast fiber in bast increased with in creasing the growth period.

        고속가공을 위한 검사시편에 관한 연구

        The properties of a machine tool greatly affect machining quality since a machine tool has large variance in its features. Machine tool makers want to find best machining condition with the one that they have built. Machine builders need to develop test specimen since it helps finding characteristics of machine tools when the machining properties of the specimen are analyzed. This paper develops test specimen to identify features of the main spindle, the feeding device, and the frame of a machine tool. The specimen is machined with a high speed machine and the features of the machine are analyzed with test items. They are surface roughness, overshoot in axial movement, errors in circular movement, feeding with small movement, and compensational error. This work can improve usability for a machine tool in machining practice.

      • 경도관 동맥색전술을 이용한 비정상 자궁출혈의 치료

        Objective : Our purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the transcatheter arterial embolization for the management of abnormal uterine bleeding. Materials and Methods : 14 patients with massive or recurrent uterine bleeding underwent percutaneous transcatheter arterial embolization between February 2003 and September 2004. We reviewed 14 cases of uterine artery or internal iliac artery embolization using gelfoam or PVA particles. Results : Good management of uterine bleeding was achieved in 13 of 14(93%) cases. The cause of abnormal uterine bleeding was myoma(5 case), post D & E bleeding(3), acquired vascular malformation(3), pseudoaneurysm(1), adenomyosis(1), and endometrial hyperplasia(1). Conclusion : Transcatheter artery embolization is an effective and life-saving procedure in massive or recurrent uterine bleeding. Early diagnosis and prompt transcatheter arterial embolization is a useful mangement of uterine bleeding.

        Electromagnetic Design of a 15 MW-Class HTS Flux Switching Synchronous Generator considering Mechanical Stress of the Rotor Core

        <P>This paper introduces a novel flux switching synchronous generator (FSSG) using high-temperature superconducting (HTS) field coils. Unlike conventional superconducting synchronous generators, the HTS field coils in the proposed FSSG are mounted in the stator and do not rotate during operation. Therefore, the design and fabrication of the cooling and excitation systems for HTS field coils are easier than those for the conventional superconducting synchronous generator. To verify the feasibility of the structure, a 15 MW-class FSSG was designed using a fundamental design methodology considering the mechanical stress of the rotor core. The design methodology uses mechanical and electromagnetic equations. It defines the size of the rotor first using mechanical equations for the rotor and designs the HTS field winding and armature winding using the electromagnetic equations and an FEM analysis. In addition, the operational characteristics of the FSSG were analyzed by a transient motion analysis using the FEM program. This paper could be utilized to develop superconducting synchronous generators.</P>

        A Study on the Shape of Iron-Core for a Hybrid Electro-Magnetic Suspension System

        <P>This paper deals with the shape design of the iron-core of a hybrid EMS (electro-magnetic suspension) system. A proto-type hybrid EMS system was developed by Yonsei University in 2010 [1], [2]. It is the first step of study on fundamental technology for advanced railroad systems development. The hybrid EMS system requires cooling systems because it uses superconducting magnets [3], [4]. These cooling systems can influence costs to making and operating the hybrid EMS system. Therefore, a study to reduce the number of cooling systems needs to be carried out in order to economically commercialize the hybrid EMS system. In this paper, a method that reduces the number of cooling systems of the hybrid EMS system was proposed. To achieve this, a small-scale iron-core and coils assembly was fabricated. Using this system, characteristics of levitation force according to the structure of the iron-core was evaluated. Also, numerical analysis using the FEM tool in order to evaluate the levitation force and net force of a full-scale model was performed. This paper can be expected to suggest useful data for the design of a hybrid EMS system.</P>
