      • 위선암에서 p53, MMP-2 및 TIMP-2의 표출

        Gastric adenocarcinoma is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. Many oncogens have been found in malignant tumor cells. Among these oncogene, MMP-2 and TIMP-2 show important role in invasivness and metastasis of malignant tumor cells. P53 is regulator of cellular proliferation, and the over expression of p53 relate to malignant transformation and prognosis. To evaluate the expression of MMP-2, TIMP-2, and p53 according to histopathologic features and the relation between these antigens and prognosis in gastric adenocarcinoma, we have performed immune staining, using mouse anti-MMP-2, mouse anti-p53, and mouse anti-TIMP-2 for 91 cases. The results were as follows; 1) The expression rates of MMP-2, TIMP-2, and p53 in gastric adenocacinoma were 58.2%, 57.1%, and 49.5%, respectively. 2) MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in gastric adenocarcinoma showed reverse correlation.(p<0.001) 3) MMP-2 showed more higher expression rates in intesinal type and sell differentiated form of gastric adenocarcinoma, and in cases showing more deeper invasion and metastasis to lymph nodes in advanced carcinoma. 4) TIMP-2 in advanced carcinoma showed more lower expression rates in cases showing more deeper invasion and metastasis to lymph nodes. 5) MMP-2 expression and TIMP-2 non-expression showed more higher frequency in intestinal type of gastric adenocarcinoma and in cases showing more deeper invasion depth in advanced carcinoma. 6) p53 in advanced carcinoma showed more higher expression rates in cases more deeper invasion and metastasis to lymph nodes. Above results indicated that MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in gastric adenocarcinoma shows reverse correlation, and may be show reverse relation according to progression, type, invasion depth, and metastasis to lymph node. The expression of p53 may be related to metastasis to lymph nodes and degree of depth in advanced carcinoma.

      • 꽃게껍질로 제조된 키토산의 항균효과

        고분자당류인 chitosan은 가식성 포장제, 항암제, 생물응집제, 항균물질 등으로 폭넓은 이용성을 갖는다. 다량으로 폐기되고 있는 갑각류의 껍질을 효율적으로 이용하게 위하여 꽃게 껍질에서 chitin을 분리정제한 후 탈아세틸화하여 chitosan을 제조하였다. 제조된 chitosan중에서 분자량 42,000이 Escherichia coli O157:NM에 항균력이 가장 우수하였다. 이들 결과로 부터 각종 식중독균에 대하여 항균력을 조사하였다 항균력시험으로 부터 식중독균 중에서 Gram음성균 보다 양성균에 대하여 효과적이 였으며, Gram음성균 중에서도 균종에 따라 상이한 항균력을 보였다. Chitosan was well known as an available material preparing for edible film, antiturmor agent, biocoagulant, and antimicrobiotics etc. For the effective use of Crustacean shell, chitin was prepared from the shell of Blue crab, and chitosan was made through the deacetylation of above chitin. Prepared chitosan with 42,000 M.W. showed most antibacterial effect for Escherichia coli O157 : NM. From this result, chitosan was tested its antibacterial reaction for some Gram prositive and negative food-poisoning bacteria. Antibacterial effect of chitosan was more higher for Gram positive bacteria than Gram negative bacteria and its antibacterial reactions were different for species of Gram negative bacteria.

        Simplified Effective Compressive Strengths of Columns with Intervening Floor Slabs

        The current design codes discuss the effective compressive strengths of columns, which reflect a decrease in load transfer performance that can occur when columns and slabs have different concrete compressive strengths. The effective compressive strength of a column increases as it is confined by the slab, and the design codes mandate three different effective compressive strengths for interior columns (confinement on four sides), exterior columns (confinement on three sides), and corner columns (confinement on two sides). For both corner and exterior columns, the confinement effect of the slab is significantly smaller than that for the interior column, and there is a more marked decrease in load transfer performance. However, there is still a lack of theoretical studies investigating the effective compressive strengths of the corner and exterior columns. Therefore, based on the analysis model established in previous research, this study has proposed an equation for calculating the effective compressive strengths of the corner, exterior and isolated columns without any confinement effects of the slab. In addition, axial loading tests of isolated columns were conducted and the proposed equation was verified.

      • 인버터 구동용 유도전동기 고정자 권선의 절연특성 연구

        Inverters with high speed switching and advanced PWM techniques are widely used for variable speed applications. But some adverse effects on the stator winding insulation are reported due to excessive voltage stress, which results in the premature insulation breakdown. This is aggravated by the high switching speed of modem switching devices such as IGBT (Insulated Gate Bi-polar Transistor) with which the rate of rise in voltage (dv/dt) increases considerably. In this paper, the test results for evaluation on the stator winding insulation of 310V induction motors are presented. Also, the insulation characteristics are presented in order to analyze the insulation strength under high voltage due to high switching speed of IGBT PWM inverter. 26 induction motors of 6 types with different wires and insulation techniques are built and thoroughly tested. The maximum partial discharge (PD) magnitude (Qm) and the discharge inception voltage (DIV) are obtained by PD test. Under AC current test, the rate of change in AC current (ΔI) and the change in dissipation factor (Δtanδ) are measured. From the above test data, the effects due to different wires and insulation techniques on the insulation characteristics of low-voltage induction motors are compared and analyzed. The insulation technique to enhance the insulation strength is suggested from the test results.

        An analytical and experimental investigation is made to the dynamic response of a cantilever with a tip mass that models some of the basic phenomena involved in the response of a flexible manipulator with a tip mass on its free end under the given rotating motion. The system equation is derived from the Hamilton's principle on the basis of the Euler-Bernoulli hypothesis and an approximate solution is obtained from modal analysis using Galerkin's method for the vibration response of the system subjected to a sudden stop after an impulsive rotation. Experiment was performed to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis. Results are given for the vibration amplitude of the free end with respect to tip mass ratio, non-dimensionalized rotating velocity, rotating angle and non-dimensionalized hub length. The rotating condition to minimize the vibration amplitude of the free end can be determined for the given basic parameters.

        Effects of coal powder on the apple productivity were investigated from the plant eco-physiological point of view. 1) Light absorption by the dispersion of 10, 30 and 50g/㎡ of 54μ meshed coal powder was 42, 82 and 94% of the incident light, respectively. 2) Leaf area index of the coal treated apple tree on June (nearly maximum) was slightly larger than that of the control plant, i.e., 4.5-5.0 for Jonathan and 5.5-6.0 for Rolls Janet. Relative light intensity under this apple leaf population declined to 3.4-2.4% on June 26, 1974. 3) Application of coal powder on apple tree resulted in an increase of specific leaf area. 4) Assimilation rate measured by the half leaf method showed a decreased rate in the treated leaf. 5) Transpiration rate decreased by 9.6% on the coal powdered leaf. 6) Surplus photosynthesis of the apple leaf population was 31.1-32.7g/㎡/day from the estimation by the formula of Monsi-Saeki. 7) Growth rate of fruit diameter and shoot length showed the obstructive effect of coal treated apple tree. 8) Rate of June drop of the coal treated apple (50g/㎡) increased 11.0-15.7% as compared with that of the control plant.

        In this paper we evaluate the performance of the cached RAID5 which uses the parity cache and the data cache to overcome the small write problem. From the result of the simulation study we show that the cached RAID5 provides performance improvement with reasonable cache size.

      • 균열밀도에 따른 R·C 슬래브 교량의 내하력 평가

        Through the exterior features on reinforced concrete slab, crack density and crack originate deflections ratio crack density, decrease percentage of load carrying capacity, crack originate deflections ration and decrease percentage of load carrying capacity were statistically analyzed. Crack density, crack originate deflections ratio and decrease percentage of load carrying capacity are very closely related each other with 0.724, 0.821 and 0.317 of correlation coefficient within 95% of mind level. However, the correlation between crack originate deflections ratio and decrease percentage of load carrying capacity was low. Through the regression equation curve method in which crack density selected as independent variable, crack originate deflections ratio and decrease percentage of load carrying capacity as dependent variable, regression equations were presumed. Equations exist in mind level range of F(0.05, S-curve showed the highest, conformance with 79.5%, 72.2%. The regression equation between CRD or LCCD and CD was also shown. The overall judgement of load carrying capacity of bridges can be possible through the moreover investigation of crack density, the time needed precision could be valuable data for lower maintenance cost, the degree of deterioration of bridges and safety judgement.

      • 균열도가 R·C 교량의 수명에 미치는 영향

        There are several causes. the percussion from the exterior, the decline of capacity by circumstances, the crack occured in the interior, the carbonation and soon, that can shorten the span of life of concreted construction. However, the crack itself, as the primary factor of the life-curtailment of concreted construction, is principal and should bring about the erosion of the reinforcing rod and the curtailment of sticking strength between concrete and reinforcing rod and the span of life. The span of life of construction influenced by crack will be treated in this report. Finally, I think that the Crack-Ratio found out by the outside investigation with timeworn R·C bridge should be utilized for deciding bridge's life and danger with statistics·analysis of used-life/carbonation-life, used-life/ fatigue-life.

        Purification and Characterization of a Recombinant Caulobacter crescentus Epoxide Hydrolase

        A Caulobacter crescentus epoxide hydrolase(CCEH) from a recombinant Escherichia coli was purified to homogeneity using a three-step procedure. The CCEH protein was purified 7.3-fold with a 22.9% yield in overalll activity. The optimal reaction temperature and pH were determined to be $37^{\circ}C$ and pH 8.0, respectively. The addition of 10%(v/v) dimethylsulfoxide as a cosolvent improved the enantioselectivity of CCEH for a batch kinetic resolution of racemic indene oxide.
