JOUNG-YOUNG, SUG,SU-HO, LEE,JUN-YONG, CHOI,SOON-CHEOL, PARK,JU-HYUN, YOO,GEON, SA-GONG Taylor Francis 2008 Integrated ferroelectrics Vol.99 No.1

Based on quantum transport theory, we analysis the temperature dependence of optical quantum transition line shapes (QTLS) of GaAs and CdS in some temperatures, through the numerical analysis of theoretical result. We study the thermal properties of electron-piezoelectric phonon interacting system in the confinement of electrons by square well confinement potential. In order to analysis the quantum transition process, we compare the temperature dependence of the QTLW and the QTLS of two transition process, which are the phonon emission transition process and the phonon absorption transition process. We use the theory of the projected Liouville equation method with Equilibrium Average Projection Scheme (EAPS).

바나듐이 도핑된 강유전체 Bi₄Ti₃O_12 박막(BTV)의 성장과 특성
정원태,최은경,김현주,강민진,김상수 昌原大學校 基礎科學硏究所 2001 基礎科學硏究所論文集 Vol.13 No.-
Bi3.99Ti2.97V0.03O12 (BTV) thin films with 3 mol% vanadium doping were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that single-phase lapered perovskite were obtained and preferred orientation was not observed. Under the annealing temperature at 600℃, the surface morphology of the BTV thin films had fine-rounded particles and then changed plate-like at 650℃ and 700℃. The remanent polarization (2Pr) and coercive field (2Ec) of 700℃ annealed BTV thin film were 25 μC/cm2 and 116 kV/cm, respectively. In addition, BTV thin film showed little polarization fatigue during 109 switching cycles. These improved ferroelectric properties were attributed to the increased rattling space and reduced oxygen vacancies by substitution Ti4+ ion (68 pm) with smaller V5+ ion (59 pm). The dielectric constant and loss were measured 130 and 0.03 at 10 kHz, respectively.
A Study on the Smoke Removal Characteristics of the ESP Adopting Resonant dc-dc Converter
Kim, Su-Weon,Park, Jong-Woong,Joung, Jong-Han,Chung, Hyun-Ju,Choi, Jin-Young,Kim, Hee-Je The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2004 KIEE International Transactions on Electrophysics Vol.4C No.5
In this study, we propose a small high voltage power supply, which uses a half-bridge ZCS resonant and Cockroft-Walton circuit as its ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator). This power supply transfers energy from the ZCS resonant inverter to the step-up transformer. The transformer secondary is then applied to the Cockroft-Walton circuit for generating high voltage as a discharging source of electrodes. It is highly efficient because its amount of switching losses are reduced by virtue of the current resonant half-bridge inverter, and also due to the small size, low parasitic capacitance in the transformer stage owing to the low number of winding turns of the step up transformer secondary combined with the Cockroft-Walton circuit. Using this power supply, experiments have been carried out as a function of the switching frequency and duty ratio in order to investigate the smoke removal characteristics. From these results, the best operational condition is obtained at the switching frequency of 9 kHz and the duty ratio of 50% in this ESP.

Background: Multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MDRAB) is widespread among intensive care units worldwide, posing a threat to patients and the health system. We describe the successful management of a MDRAB outbreak by implementing an infection-control strategy in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Methods: This retrospective study investigated the patients admitted to the PICU in periods 1 (8 months) and 2 (7 months), from the index MDRAB case to intervention implementation, and from intervention implementation to cessation of MDRAB spread. An infection-control strategy was designed following six concepts: 1) cohort isolation of colonized patients, 2) enforcement of hand hygiene, 3) universal contact precautions, 4) environmental management, 5) periodic surveillance culture study, and 6) monitoring and feedback. Results: Of the 427 patients, 29 were confirmed to have MDRAB colonization, of which 18 had MDRAB infections. Overall incidence per 1,000 patient days decreased from 7.8 (period 1) to 5.8 (period 2). The MDRAB outbreak was declared terminated after the 6-month followup following period 2. MDRAB was detected on the computer keyboard and in condensed water inside the ventilator circuits. The rate of hand hygiene performance was the lowest in the three months before and after index case admission and increased from 84% (period 1) to 95% (period 2). Patients with higher severity, indicated by a higher Pediatric Risk of Mortality III score, were more likely to develop colonization (P = 0.030), because they had invasive devices and required more contact with healthcare workers. MDRAB colonization contributed to an increase in the duration of mechanical ventilation and PICU stay (P < 0.001), but did not affect mortality (P = 0.273). Conclusion: The MDRAB outbreak was successfully terminated by the implementation of a comprehensive infection-control strategy focused on the promotion of hand hygiene, universal contact precautions, and environmental management through multidisciplinary teamwork.

Purpose: Topical calcineurin inhibitor is recently developed topical immunomodulator, and preliminary studies showed its effectiveness in the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). However, some side effects including transient irritation can influence the patient compliance. So, there are some needs to improve the patient compliance. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy, safety and patient compliance with using topical tacrolimus 0.1% to treat AD when the correct information about topical tacrolimus are properly given to patients. Methods: We examined the medical recordings, clinical severity scoring of total 194 AD patients at 9 general hospitals in Seoul, Korea from September 2010 to August 2011. We offered an infosheet of topical tacrolimus 0.1% and the patients applied it twice a day for 2 weeks. And we measured the efficacy of the topical tacrolimus 0.1% with SCORing atopic dermatitis (SCORAD) index, patient’s global assessment (PGA), and investigator’s global assessment (IGA). Results: Topical tacrolimus 0.1% effectively controlled AD with a reduction of the SCORAD index from baseline 31.9 to 20.2 at 2 weeks of application. In IGA results showed 98% got improvement and in PGA, results showed 96% got improvement after treatment. Although 42.3% of the patients complained of adverse effects, these were all transient. The effect of information on topical tacrolimus 0.1% showed 34% patients could predict the side effect, 35% patients could feel safety to use, and 18% patients experienced side effect but could maintain topical calcineurin inhibitor. Conclusion: Topical tacrolimus 0.1% may be an effective treatment modality for AD when patients show good compliance for applying the ointment. And properly given, the correct information may increase the patient compliance. (Allergy Asthma Respir Dis 2013;1:221-226)
