A Study on the Functionality of Halophytes from Coast area of Jeollanam-do

This study was undertaken to improve the perceived value of halophytes and contribute to the activity of the local economy by analyzing the antioxidant activity and mineral content of Suaeda japonica, Tetragonia tetragonoides, and Spergularia marina that grow wild on the mud flats and coastal areas. The total phenolic compound content found in each order is as follows: Suaeda japonica (3.674∼5.989 mg TAE/g dry wt.), Tetragonia tetragonoides (2.515∼4.471 mg TAE/g dry wt.), and Spergularia marina (2.450∼4.067 mg TAE/g dry wt.); DPPH radical scavenging and ABTS cation radical scavenging activities were also recorded in the same order. In the case of minerals, Iron(Fe) was relatively high in Suaeda japonica (960.1∼1,346.7 mg/kg), Manganese(Mn) in Tetragonia tetragonoides (197.1∼574.8 mg/kg), and Zinc(Zn) was relatively high in Spergularia marina (63.19∼216.56 mg/kg). It was confirmed that the mineral content of Suaeda japonica, Tetragonia tetragonoides, and Spergularia marina was significantly higher than that of Chinese cabbage, lettuce, leek, and spinach.

Generally, the analysis of a sodium-water reaction (SWR) is classified by two major events. One is the very initial stage of peak pressure and shock wave propagation caused by the reaction itself, and the other is the bulk motion including the mass transfer phase in the quasi-steady state of the reaction period during several second or minute orders after leak initiation. The system dynamic response during a sodium-water reaction event shows very different characteristics between the initial stage and the long-term period. In order to investigate the later phase of a SWR event. the code SELPSTA (Sodium-water reaction Event Later Phase System Transient Analyzer) has been developed and the desing and construction of the test facility has been made.
위장관의 원발성 B 세포 악성 림프종의 재분류와 bcl-2, cyclin D1, bcl-6 및 p53 발현의 의미

Background and Objectives : In recent years, the REAL (Revised European American Lymphoma) classification provided a new category of MALT (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma in B cell lymphomas. We have analyzed the expression of bcl-2, cyclin D1, bcl-6 and p53 and correlated with the subtypes and histologic grade of primary gastrointestinal B cell lymphoma. Also we investigated the usefulness of immunophenotypic features in diagnosis of low grade B cell lymphoma. Materials and Methods : Twenty-two cases of primary gastrointestinal B cell lymphoma were recategorized in low grade MALT lymphoma, low/high grade MALT lymphoma, high grade MALT lymphoma, and diffuse large cell lymphoma according to the morphological findings. We investigated the expression of bcl-2, cyclin D1, bcl-6 and p53 by immunohistochemical method. Results : The bcl-2 protein expression was higher in the low grade MALT lymphoma than in the high grade lymphoma. The cyclin D1 protein expression was negative in all cases. The expression of bcl-6 and p53 protein was negative in all low grade MALT lymphoma. Conclusion : The results suggest that we can differentiate the low grade lymphoma from the high grade lymphoma by immunohistochemical staining for bcl-2, bcl-6, and p53 protien.
잡음환경에서 구름 볼 베이링의 결함검출을 위한 ALE의 적용

It is very important to detect the bearing defects in rotating machinery since the critical failure of bearing cause a machinery shutdown. However it is difficult to detect the vibration signal resulting from the initial defects of bearing because of the high level of broadband noise. A signal processing technique, called the adaptive line enhancer(ALE) as one of adaptive filter, is studied in this work. This technique is to eliminate broadband noise without a prior knowledge of the noise and signal characteristics. Also we propose the optimal methods for selecting the three main ALE parameters such as correlation length, filter order and adaptation constant used in the adaptative process. Vibration signals for three abnormal bearings, including inner and outer raceways and ball defects, were acquired from Anderon(angular derivative of radius on)meter. The experimental results showed that the proposed technique can reliably detect the bearing defective signals masked by broadband noise.

Agranulocytosis, one of the major side effects of antithyroid a gents, probably occurs in less than 0.25% of cases treated with antithyroid agents. It usually occurs within the first several weeks or months after the initiation of therapy, when drug dosage is higher. Most reported cases of agranulocytosis have occurred during the first 3 months of therapy. We describe here a rare case that did not experience the side effect for 6 years of antithyroid agent treatment but presented with agranulocytosis in one month after re-exposure. It suggests that the major side effect such as agranulocytosis can occur in patients who had undergone prior uneventful antithyroid drug therapy.

The study was carried out to develop edible natural broth substrate resource with lentinus edodes Mycelium, and to produce effectively. We selected potato, pear, corn, banana and apple with natural broth media, respectively. The results investigated for new resource are as follows. The optimum temperature for mycelial growth ranged from 23~29℃, optimum temperature 26℃. The optimum pH ranged from 5.0~6.0, optimum pH 5.5. The carbon source contents were effective in 5~20% glucose almost identical., The nitrogen source peptone was higher growth in the 0.5~2.0% than 0.1%. For 5 weeks incubation, Natural substrates broth from banana, potato and corn grew better than pear apple, respectively.

세자리 Schiff base Cobalt(Ⅱ)와 Nickel(Ⅱ) 착물들의 합성과 전기화학적 성질

Co(Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) complexes containing tridentate Schiff base ligand SOIPH [salicylidene-o-iminopyridine] derived from salicylaldehyde with 2-aminopyridine were synthesized. These complexes were characterized 표 elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis(T.G.A.), solution conductivity, and IR and UV-visible spectra. It was found that Co(Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) complexes had a 2 : 1 Schiff base ligand to metal(Ⅱ) ratio and were octahedral configuration. The redox processes of these complexes in DMF and DMSO containing 0.1M TEAP as supporting electrolyte were investigated at glassy carbon electrode by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and at HMDE(hanging mercury drop electrode) by differential pulse polarographic (DPP) technique. Reduction of Co(Ⅱ) complex was two steps, whereas Ni(Ⅱ) complex was one step. Reduction of these complexes observed as one electron process irreversibly and diffusion- controlly. Reduction of the Co(Ⅱ) complex was observed positive potential than Ni(Ⅱ) complex.
단감나무의 品種別 生理 및 形態的인 特性에 관한 硏究(Ⅰ) : 잎의 生理 및 形態 Physiology and Morphology of Leaves

Experiments on the 1eaf characteristics have been carried out in sweet persimmon cultivars. The results obtained are as followings : Mikado and Daean-Dangam were the largest for leaf length, leaf width, leaf area and leaf weight in all cultivars, while Suido was the smallest for leaf width, leaf area and leaf weight. Suruga was the thickest for the leaf thickness, but Johongsi was the thinnest. The largest leaf stalk diameter was observed in Mikado and Ichimogkei-Jiro, but the smallest was Hana-Gosho. For the leaf stalk length, Kyara was the longest and Zenjimaru the shortest. For the index of leaf shape, RO-19 showed the largest as 66.5% for the south-facing leaf and 68.3% for the north-facing leaf, but Kyara and Suido showed smallest. The south-facing leaf showed large values in lcaf shape index, leaf thickness, leaf stalk diameter and leaf stalk length, but the north-facing leaf was relatively large in leaf length, leaf width, leaf area and leaf weight. For the content of chlorophyll, Hana-Gosho and RO-19 cultivars contained higher, but Yido and Bang-Gosho contained lower. In average for all cultivars, the contents of N, Ca and B were low, that of P seemed in sufficient and those of K and Mg were difficient. However, the contents of Na, Cu, Zn, Fe and Mn were moderate. The content of Al in particular, were high(81-148ppm) for all cultivars.
