        The purpose of this survey is to develop the program of college student. For the purpose, the survey which questionned student difficulty was administered to the newcomers in Kwangju health junior college. Questionnaire consists of health, study and circle, family, economy, personality, sex and marriage, morality and value, future, leisure. The data was analyzed by T-test and F test in SPSSPC+ package. As a result, it is found that the female are more concerned with all factor than the male. Especially they are interested in leisure, morality and value, study and circle, personality, future. In conclusion, the author urges educational administrators to pay concern with the such educational programs as personal oranization, curriculum, expansion of facilities for extracurriculum activities, emotional guedance for the betterment of students adaptation to school life.

        This study comes up with. the problems of what should be done for the betterment of existing "A study on the Organization and Development of Public Health Administration. " Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Public Health is a science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting physical and mental health efficiency through the oranized community efforts for the sanitation of the environment, the control of communicable diseases, the education of the individual in personal hygiene, the organzation of medical and nursing services for the early diagnosis and preventive treatment of diseases, and the development of the social machinery which will insure to every individual in the community standard of living adequate for the maintemance of health.

      • 광주보건대학생의 성의식에 대한 고찰 : 지식·태도·행위를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to explore general attitudes to sex and marriage and to provide fundamental information for its related problem counseling in Kwang-ju Health College. For the purpose, questionaire that consisted of 14 items for general information of students(gender, residence, job experience etc.), I item for satisfaction of major, 10 items for marriage related attitude(the age for marriage, age difference with a match, etc.) and 28 items for sex related attitude(attitude to sex stereotype experience of sex education, etc.) was analyzed. The main results on this study was as follows; 1. Just 50.5% students answered to be satisfied with their major. 2. About one third of students had a stady girl freind or boy freind(34.2%) and they were the most in third grade. More students answered campus couple desireable than undesireable and more homo-sexual love passible. 3. Comparing male and female students' answers to sentences implied who can sexual intercourse with, as "Sexual intercourse without love is acceptable", or "Sexual intercourse with a person who love is acceptable" etc., the results showed that male students have more sex liberal attitude to the sexual intercourse than female. Comparing male and female students' answers to sentences implied gender related stereotype, as "Man have to be masculine and woman have to be feminine" etc., the results showed that female students have resistant attitude to the stereotypes than male. It would be dual sex and gender related attitude that males are unconservative but females are conservative, or sexual behavior of male is treated generous than female. 4. Intensive education on the sex and the publicize it must be considered.

      • 1988學年度 新入生集團特性에 關한 調査硏究 : 光州保健專門大學의 境遇

        The newcommer questionaire was administered to KHJC freshmen population. The total number of newcommer was 1040; male student, 404; female student, 636. To the newcommer questionaire, the number of respondents was 1000. The contents of the questionaire covered following areas of newcommer's characteristics. 1) Personal identification, in which 4 items such as age, long-term residential address, residential conditions, religious affiliate, were included. 2) Family relations, in which 9 items such as father's or mother's age, their vocation, school career, number of family number, family atmosphere etc. were included. 3) Economic status, which contains such items as total income of the family, the source and adequateness of monetary support during school life. 4) Interpersonal relationship, which contained questions such as wanted type of friend, generation gap, topic of conversation with friends, etc. 5) Highschool life: year of highschool graduation, city or province of respondents' highschool located were questioned. 6) Study plan : the motive and procedure in deciding to apply ones department, academic areas, and etc. were questioned. 7) College life : kinds of difficulty in college life, extracurricular activity wanted, expectation to the professors, and etc. were surveyed. 8) Life philosophy, in which living values, furture plan, and etc. were questioned.

      • 보건대학 보건행정과 학생들의 보건·의료행정교육에 대한 태도 조사 연구

        This study selected 146 of 148 students attending the Dept. of Health Administration, K Health College in Kwangju, who responded to a questionnaire, in Nov. 13~17, 2000 and examined and analyzed reason to choose and enter the Dept. of Health Administration, the degree of satisfaction at school life, attitude to public health administratorship, and career perspective upon graduating. 1. Choosing the Dept. of Health Administration before entering 1) Most students chose their major suddenly just before college entrance exam. regardless of their goal, aptitude, and taste. The attention should give to motivation for academic achievement and special guidance and care for adapting t school life. 2) For advice on choosing a major self-choice accounted for 58.5% and others' advice, including parents, siblings, or friends for 31.5%, showing that choosing a major by others could cause unsatisfied subjects of study or school life. 3) For reason to choice a major, 33.6% was affected by passable results of college entrance exam and 27.4% by easiness to get a job. Considering that results of college entrance exam greatly influenced choosing a major, the focus of guidance should be on understanding students and planting a right view as a professional for public health administration in students' mind. 2. Choosing the Dept. of Health Adminstration after entering. 1) For the order of preference for this department, the first preference accounted for 70.5%. of them, 40.4% answered adapted well, but the rest indicated not know, trying or not adpat themselves. The findings showed that there was the difference between choosing a major as the first preference and actually adapting themselves. 2) For desire to change a course, 38.4% responded yes and 60.3% no. Aunsuitable aptitude was highest in reason, followed by the lack of social view, small ay, and difficult school work. 3) 19.2% responded they would choose the Dept. of Health Administration agin; 53.4% did not know and 25.3% would not choose again. For recommending this department for others, 76.0% did not want to oppose with those who want and 11.0% wanted to recommend willingly 3. The degree of satisfaction at school life 1) For school life, 50.5% answered good and 28.1% very satisfied or satisfied. Poor educational environment(school facilities) was highest 13.7% in the reason for unsatisfaction, followed by too heavy school schedule and social view of health administration. 2) For satisfaction at choosing this department, 56.2% answered good, 31.5% very, satisfied or satisfied, and 12.4% not satisfied or not very satisfied. Different curriculum to expectation was highest 12.3% in reason for unsatisfaction, followed by too heavy school work, disagreement between theory and practice, and inadequate practice order, showing that school should make efforts to promote students' skill and sincere personal relation in order to solve student's possible complaint or problem. 4. Attitude to public health administratorship 1) For self-consciousness of the level of public health administratorship, 53.4% responded similar and 21.2% higher than other jobs. 2) For social view of public health administration, 69.9% responded not so good; 21.9% good, and 7.4% bad. 3) For view of public health administratorship, 41.1% though that it required responsibility and originality as a health information officer and 34.2% that it did not establish its system and was subject to medicine. It suggest that all professions should cooperate with original authority and dignity and unique knowledge and skill. 5. Career perspective after graduating 1) Medical office was highest 62.3% in desired job after graduating, followed by customer affairs office 17.1% and pharmacy 3.4%. 2) For desired period, 43.8% wanted to hold a continuously and 41.1% wanted to have a job after marriage if possible. Considering that most want lifelong work, the emphasis should be on fostering ability to cope with radical society with specific and systematic plan. 3) 28.8% wanted t transfer to another college after graduating and 67.8% did not. Health adminstration was highest in desired department, followed by insurance and business adminstration. Effective academic guidance and counterplan should be considered for students who want to transfer to another college.

      • 광주보건전문대학 신입생의 정신건강에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to identify the special character of newcomers and to use it for the student guidance and the cunseling activities. For this purpose, the survey which questioned general problems and SCL - 90 - R was administered to the Kwangju Health Junior College newcomers. The data was analyzed by T-test and F test. As a result, I can get the following conclusions. 1) The state of mental health of newcomers is better than that of Kim et al (1984). 2) The state of mental health of newcomers is similar to the proceeding studies. On the basis of this conclusions, I suggested some ideas showed in the thesis. However, this study has few limitations.

      • 교수-학습 지원체제 구축 방안에 관한 연구

        This study was attempted to find out the alternatives for constructing of Teaching-Learning support system. Junior college was establish for educating quality manpower. Although junior college has made great contribution to economic and industrial development until now, however, it has brought out a lot of problems. Nowadays the dominant trends of problems are lack of newly enrolled student, student's deficiency of learning ability, and deficiency of professor's experience about expert knowledge of teaching. To solve these problems, constructing of Teaching-Learning support system is indispensable. Constructing of Teaching-Learning support system is a strategy aimed at improvement of educational quality in junior college. The alternatives for constructing of Teaching-Learning support system are : 1) Making a program of heightening professional of junior college faculty 2) Making a program of strengthening learning ability of junior college student 3) For effective vocational education and to improve student recruitment, Making a curriculum more flexible and broader is necessary. college education should strength the career-related curriculum during undergraduate student college days. 4) Building up educational environment and constructing infra to utilize media and materials Current social changes want educational reform of junior college. Educational reform is long-term process that requires commitment and sustained effort. Constructing of Teaching-Learning support system is a strategy for more better education of the college-level students.

      • 인간의 meningioma에서 nm23-H1의 발현과 세포이동능은 역비례한다

        The ㎚23 gene is widely documented as a suppressor of the metastatic phenotype in many human cancers. However, its role with respect to the invasive behavior of primary central nervous system tumors has scarcely been addressed. The present study was aimed to examine the expression of the ㎚23-Hl gene product in 14 meningiomas in order to clarify the association of its expression with the histological types or migration rate, The ㎚23-Hl protein levels in human meningiomas were analyzed using Western blotting analyses. The ㎚23-Hl protein levels and cell migration rate was not correlated with different histologic types of meningiomas. However, the expression of ㎚23-Hl is inversely correlated with the migration rate in meningiomas. These results suggest that ㎚23-Hl may play an important role in the cell migration of meningiomas in female patients.

      • 일부 전남 지역 초등학생의 신체계측에 의한 비만실태 조사

        This study was carried out with 96 elementary school students to investigate the obesity prevalence of childhood in Jeon-Nam using Anthropometric Measurement. We classified the subjects into underweight, normal and obese group according to the grade of obesity indices by using physical index, Obesity Rate, BMI, Kaup index and Triceps skin fold thickness. By BMI, 8.3% of the subjects were underweight, 36.5% of subjects were normal and 55.2% were obese including overweight. By Obesity Rate, 32.3% of subjects were normal 67.7% were obese including overweight. By Kaup, 20.8% of the subjects were underweight, 61.46% of subjects were normal and 17.7% were obese including overweight. Triceps skin fold thickness was 19.31±5.28 of were normal 67.7% were obese including overweight. The weight of the obese group was shorter than normal group. The height was no significant difference in obese group between the normal group, Obesity represents a major health problem with significant economic Implications for the society. In conclusion, a need for implementing nutrition education program focused on weight control is suggested.

      • 일본어 교수법으로써의 논쟁 학습 활동에 관한 연구

        In this paper, the use of debate as an activity in the Communicative Approach in second language acquisition. in order to improve students' grammatical and communicative skills, as well as develop attitudes for communication in the classroom, is discussed. Special emphasis has been placed on nine merits: (1) critical thinking, (2) reading skills, (3) listening skills, (4) writing skills, (5) speaking skills, (6) research skills, (7) organization, (8) teamwork and cooperation, and (9) motivation for social problems. The demerit is the mental pressure for output, especially, for speaking. In order that students receive benefit in these areas, as well as face reduced stress from haying to produce language, three aspects in language study must be born in mind: (1) formal and content schema, (2) knowledge of the content-based topic area, and (3) basic knowledge of the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The question arises as to the method of implementation for debate in the classroom actually. Debate is carried out by teams. There are affirmative and negative teams, while other students play an important role as audience or judges at the end of the debate. The Korean Japanese teacher(KJT) and native Japanese teacher(JJT) should intervene through comments and give some advice at appropriate points, and not by judging. There is room for further investigation concerning teachers who are accustomed to debating. Although debate is becoming more popular in Korean schools, few JSL teachers seem to have experienced actual debates or received formal training in debate. However, when teachers have enough knowledge and experience in debating techniques, debate should be implemented in JSL teacher training programs and later in JSL classes. Once debate has become part of the core of the language learning curriculum, it will promote second language development in both grammatical and communicative skills. Therefore, the training of JSL teachers in debate, focused on language instruction, should be investigated and eventually instituted in JSL teacher-trainer programs. In conclusion, when debate as an activity for Communicative Approach becomes more common in many schools and institutes, students will be able to know the fun of communication, and develop grammatical and communicative skills, attitudes and international understanding through debate.
