      • 활성탄을 이용한 휘발성 유기화합물(VOCs-BTX)의 흡착특성

        Adsorption characteristics of volatile organic compounds(VOC) by activated carbon were investigated using a continuous generation system for VOC. As samples of VOC, benzene, toluene, and xylene were adopted. The pelletized activated carbon prepared by Hanil Green Tech. Company was used as a adsorbent. As operating variables, adsorption temperature(25∼45℃) and partial pressure of VOC(0.25∼22.5mmHg) were applied. Adsorption characteristics such as adsorption rate, adsorption equilibrium capacity, and breakthrough curve were studied. The experimental results show that the adsorption rate increases with increasing temperature and partial pressure. Also, the adsorption equilibrium capacity increases with increasing pressure. and decreases with increasing temperature.

        The purpose of this study was to analysis the kinematic variables of two-handed backhand drive in tennis pretending just as real competition situation. Two male Korean juvenile top player(Left lead handed type) who was gold medalists and awarded in national championships 2000, was filmed on 16mm high speed cameras(Photo-sonic co., 100fps, from the front, side view) on performing in two-handed backhand drive in tennis stroke throughout the ball machine(Lob star co., 50km/h. on ball speed) by the method of three-dimensional analysis. The kinematic variables, temporal, posture were computer through film analysis. The results were as follows; 1) Temporal variable : In elapesd time by phase, the backswing showed the longest time(0.73∼0.23 sec.,) and the next was forward swing(0.39∼0.42 sec.), and then the follow through was followed(0.20∼0.23 sec.), and the total elapsed time was 1.35∼1.40 sec. 2) Posture variables : The right angles of the elbow decreased from the ready position to the follow through by gradually(145 ˚→77 ˚, 146 ˚ →92 ˚). When impact, the left angle increased. When follow through, showed a different pattern between subject A(increased) and subject B(decreased). The shoulder angle increase from the ready position to the backswing. When impact, it decreased, and when follow through, it increased again, and it showed the same pattern in right and left. The hip angle decreased from the ready position to the backswing, and when impact and follow through, it was shown as a little increase, and this means that when backswing, the posture was flexioned, and when impact and follow through, it swinged extensioned by gradually. In case knee angle, sub. A was swing small-scale deviation(129 ˚→165 ˚: 36 ˚), sub. B was swing large-scale deviation(117 ˚→163 ˚, 46 ˚), between flexion and extension in right and left. Generally reviewing the variable of posture by this result, we could see that sub. A's swing motion was more unstable, swing deviation more larger, and sub. B's swing motion was mort stable, swing deviation more smaller.

        The purpose in this study is to develope of high strength and corrosion reistant Mg-Zn system alloys by controlling microstructures and by adding of Cu elements. To produce optimum tesile strength,it is imperative to obtain effective grain refinment during casting. Optimal condition for grain size refining effect was obtained at the minmum composotion of 2wt% Cu or 1.5wt%So addition to Mg-6wt%Zn alloy.Age hardening behavior was experimented at the optimal compositions of the Mg-6wt%Zn, Mg-6wt%Zn-2wt%Cu and Mg-6wt%Zn-1.5wt%Si. The hardeness increment due to age hardening was at the Mg-Zn-Si alloy system. The improvement of corrosion resistanece by the addition with Cu is related to and increasing Zn/Cu ration in the intermatallic particles in the Mg-Zn system.Further improvements obtained by T6 treatment are related to the properties of the Mg-Zn phase,whih acts as a corrosion barrier by precipitating along the grainboundaries.Filiform corrosion observed soon after pit initiation and cellular form of pit propagation later in chloride media are explained in terms of solid solution matrix structure and the properties of air formed oxide.The information obtained from the fundamental research work is utilized in suggesting ways of improving the corrosion resistance of commercial AZ91.

        장기표면의 내외봉한관과 봉한소체의 형태학적 관찰

        Objective: In 1960`s Bonghan Kim`s team found BongHan(BH) ducts which were presumed as acupuncture meridians and BH corpuscles. They asserted Bonghan theory and SanAl theory which was involved in cell division and cell restoration. However, many other experiments which had been operated to demonstrate and find the existence of BH ducts had failed because of the secret of blue stain drugs. During the last several years, BongHan theory has been revived through experimental researches to find the anatomical structures of BH ducts and corpuscles by Soh`s Biomedical Physics Lab. Soh`s research team used the staining with Janus Green B, Alcian blue, nanoparticles and Acridine Orange. We used DAPI staining to find the existence of BH ducts and the corpuscles and to observe nuclear arrangement. Methods: We used japan white rabbits as experimental animals. BH ducts and corpuscles were stained with DAPI. The nucleus configuration in BH ducts stained with DAPI were observed with microscope. Results: In this study, we found thread like structures in silver white color distinguished from the blood vessels, nerves and lymph vessels. These thread like vessels in the linear duct shape were connected to same colored mass in the ball shape. Thread like structures we found could be separated easily from the surrounding other organ mass. The nuclei of the thread like structure in DAPI staining, are about 10~20㎛ length, in rod shape and linear arrangement. Conclusion: We concluded that the thread like structure we found was same vessel reported by Soh`s research team, BongHan ducts and corpuscle.

      • 오차드그래스(Dactylis glomerata L.)의 품종에 따른 종자유래의 캘러스 형성률과, 캘러스 크기 및 식물체 재분화 효율의 비교

        Comparison results of callus formation ratio from seed explants, callus sizes, regeneration ratios from callus and regeneration efficiency [calculated by following formular; callus formation ratio(%) × regeneration ratio(%)/100]for 27 ochardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.)varieties imported and Hapsung 2 developed in Korea are as follows; 1. Among ochardgrass varieties showing more than 50% callus formation ratios, the descending order of callus formation ratio after bedding the seed explants for 4 weeks was 93>Sparta>Pizza>Condor>Lidaglo>Glorus>Hapsung2>Frode. 2. The callus sizes after bedding for 4 weeks were in the range of φ 0.43cm~4.2cm in which there was 10 times size difference between the largest one and the smallest one but most of them were between φ2.5cm~4cm. 3. The regeneration ratio from callus among varieties were in the range of 0~36% and descending order of the upper 6 varieties was Plano>Akimidori>Justus>Lidacta>Currie>Hall mark. 4. The regeneration efficiency which is calculated by the ratios of regeneration from seed explant numbers was between 0 to 17.4% among which Justus showed the highest value in the 4-week treatment. 5. The correlation between callus formation ratios and the callus sizes, callus formation ratios and regeneration efficiency, and callus sizes and regeneration efficiency were r=0.5765, r=0.6365 and r=0.6246, respectively in 4-week callus and all the correlations were significant on the 1% level. 6. In 6-week callus, the descending order callus formation ratios from seed sxplants for the best 6 varieties was Condor>Sparta>93M>Justus>Potomac>Lidaglo>Frode. 7. The callus sizes formed were between φ1.5~5.7cm in which Sparta, the largest one of φ5.7cm was five times larger than the smallest one. The callus size of the control variety. Hapsung 2 was φ3.8cm, which belonged to larger size. 8. Regeneration ratio showed a great deviation among varieties from 6-week old calli by showing from 0% to 100% in which all the calli were regenerated in Plano while no callus was regenerated in Juno, 9. The range of regeneration effciency was between 0~28% among varieties in which the values from 6-week callus treatment were larger than those from 4-week callus treatment. Especially, the value of Potomac in 6-week was 3 times larger than that in 4-week. 10. The correlation between callus formation ratios and the callus sizes, callus formation ratios and regeneration efficiency, and callus sizes and regeneration effciency were r=0.8369, r=0.6683 and r=0.5937, respectively in 6-week callus, and all the correlations were significant on the 1% level.

        Development of a Theranostic Convergence Bioradiopharmaceutical for Immuno-PET Based Radioimmunotherapy of L1CAM in Cholangiocarcinoma Model

        <P><B>Purpose:</B></P><P>Cholangiocarcinoma is a malignancy of bile duct with a poor prognosis. Conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy are generally ineffective, and surgical resection is the only curative treatment for cholangiocarcinoma. L1-cell adhesion molecule (L1CAM) has been known as a novel prognostic marker and therapeutic target for cholangiocarcinoma. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of immuno-PET imaging–based radioimmunotherapy using radiolabeled anti-L1CAM antibody in cholangiocarcinoma xenograft model.</P><P><B>Experimental Design:</B></P><P>We prepared a theranostic convergence bioradiopharmaceutical using chimeric anti-L1CAM antibody (cA10-A3) conjugated with 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid (NOTA) chelator and labeled with <SUP>64</SUP>Cu or <SUP>177</SUP>Lu and evaluated the immuno-PET or SPECT/CT imaging and biodistribution with <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-/<SUP>177</SUP>Lu-cA10-A3 in various cholangiocarcinoma xenograft models. Therapeutic efficacy and response monitoring were performed by <SUP>177</SUP>Lu-cA10-A3 and <SUP>18</SUP>F-FDG-PET, respectively, and immunohistochemistry was done by TUNEL and Ki-67.</P><P><B>Results:</B></P><P>Radiolabeled cA10-A3 antibodies specifically recognized L1CAM <I>in vitro</I>, clearly visualized cholangiocarcinoma tumors in immuno-PET and SPECT/CT imaging, and differentiated the L1CAM expression level in cholangiocarcinoma xenograft models. <SUP>177</SUP>Lu-cA10-A3 (12.95 MBq/100 μg) showed statistically significant reduction in tumor volumes (<I>P</I> < 0.05) and decreased glucose metabolism (<I>P</I> < 0.01). IHC analysis revealed <SUP>177</SUP>Lu-cA10-A3 treatment increased TUNEL-positive and decreased Ki-67-positive cells, compared with saline, cA10-A3, or <SUP>177</SUP>Lu-isotype.</P><P><B>Conclusions:</B></P><P>Anti-L1CAM immuno-PET imaging using <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-cA10-A3 could be translated into the clinic for characterizing the pharmacokinetics and selecting appropriate patients for radioimmunotherapy. Radioimmunotherapy using <SUP>177</SUP>Lu-cA10-A3 may provide survival benefit in L1CAM-expressing cholangiocarcinoma tumor. Theranostic convergence bioradiopharmaceutical strategy would be applied as imaging biomarker-based personalized medicine in L1CAM-expressing patients with cholangiocarcinoma.</P>

        악성 종양의 추적 관찰 중 PET-CT에서 발견된 갑상선의 우연종

        Purpose: The incidence of thyroid cancer is increasing in Korea, partially owing to the development of diagnostic tools. Positron emission tomography (PET)-computed tomography (CT), in particular, has generally been used for evaluation of metastasis and follow-up of malignancy. Methods: We retrospectively investigated 2,833 patients with PET-CT for metastasis work-up or cancer follow-up, which was performed between January 1998 and May 2008 at Inha University Hospital. Of them, abnormal thyroid findings were discovered in 181 patients and we studied the result of further evaluation or follow-up PET-CT. Results: Thyroid cancer was diagnosed in 26 patients, including metastatic cancer in 3 patients, and non-operated primary cancer in 2 patients. Other 21 patients received operation, which in all histopathologically revealed papillary carcinoma. The mean age of the 21 patients was 55.4 years. Nine patients had a history of radiotherapy. The site of malignant nodule was discordant between PET-CT and histopathologic result in 6 patients. The mean size of malignant nodules was 9.45 mm (0.1∼23 mm) with microcarcinoma in 10 patients (47.6%). The mean interval between diagnoses was 15.8 months, and in 4 patients operations for two malignancies were performed in a same day. The incidence of thyroid cancer was significantly high in female patients, but the differences of incidence among different cancer groups were not significant for female patients. Conclusion: Early diagnosis of synchronous or secondary thyroid cancer by PET-CT in cancer patients can make early treatment and better strategies for multiple malignancies possible.         소아 청소년 정신건강 선별검사 및 치료 연계 효율성에 대한 연구

        Objectives:This study evaluated the effectiveness of school-based mental health screening and treatment linkage programs, focusing on attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and adolescent depression. Methods:All 11,158 children and adolescents aged 8-14 years in Seoul received a school-based mental health screening, consisting of the Korean versions of the ADHD rating scale and the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), for ADHD, and the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-DS) and the Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire-Junior (SIQ-JR), for depression. The high-risk children’s and adolescents’ diagnoses were confirmed using the Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children-IV (DISC-IV). Treatment linkage programs were managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Community Mental Health Center (Program 1), the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Program 2), or the Dongjak District Office of Education (Program 3). We estimated and compared the referral rates of the three programs. Results:Program 1 screened and referred 22.9% of ADHD youths to mental health services, Program 2, 68.8%, and Program 3, 40.0%. Program 1 screened and referred 22.8% of depressed youths to mental health services, Program 2, 53.8%, and Program 3, 88.9%. Key elements for successful screening and referral programs were an effective school/community mental health center/Office of Education network, the parents’ financial support and perception of their child’s mental health status as being problematic, and the teachers’ active engagement. Conclusion:This is the first study investigating the effectiveness of school-based mental health screenings’ linkage to treatment for primary and middle school students in Korea. An effective network for community mental health and improvements in parents’ and teachers’ perceptions regarding mental health are needed for more successful treatment linkage.

        Current status of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) exposure among mothers and their babies of Korea-CHECK cohort study

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Despite the global ban, organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) have been a persistent and significant environmental health issue worldwide. Prenatal exposure to these persistent organic pollutants (POPs) has been identified as a major route of exposure among developing fetuses and newborn infants. Among Children's Health and Environmental Health of Korea (CHECK) cohort population, pregnant females (<I>n</I> =148) and their matching newborn infants (<I>n</I> =117) recruited from four cities of Korea in 2011 were investigated. The blood serum and cord blood serum were sampled at delivery, and measured for 19 OCPs and 19 PCBs. In addition, a questionnaire regarding demographic characteristics, and dietary habits were conducted. The most frequently detected POPs in both maternal blood and cord blood were <I>p,p</I>′-dichlorodiphenyl dichloroethylene (DDE) (99% detection in maternal, and 98% in cord blood serum) and PCB153 (95% in maternal, 74% in cord blood serum). The levels of dichlorodiphenyl trichloroethanes (DDTs) in both maternal (average 82.5ng/g lw) and cord blood serum (average 77.5ng/g lw) were comparable to or greater than those reported in Japan about a decade ago. Approximately two thirds of the pregnant women and newborn infants showed the <I>p,p</I>′-DDE concentrations exceeding the biological equivalent (BE) corresponding to 10<SUP>−6</SUP> excess cancer risk. In addition, less chlorinated PCBs were detected higher in both maternal and cord serum. Less chlorinated PCBs also showed greater transplacental ratio. Dairy consumption among the subjects was positively associated, and tea consumption was negatively associated with serum levels of several POPs. Our results show that the exposure to legacy POPs, especially DDTs, among pregnant women and newborn infants is still prevailing, thus warrants measures for exposure mitigation among these vulnerable populations.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> OCPs and PCBs were measured in serum of Korean mothers and their matching newborns. </LI> <LI> Levels of most OCPs in maternal and cord serum are correlated. </LI> <LI> Less chlorinated PCBs are detected higher in cord serum than maternal serum. </LI> <LI> DDTs are of potential health concern, with 67% of subjects potentially at risk. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
