This study was undertaken for the clinical evaluation and statistical analysis on the 38 cases of placenta previa who were admitted and treated from March 1, 1988 to Feb. 28, 1991. The results were as follows : 1. The incidence of placenta previa was one per 53 deliveries or 1.90% 2. There were 57.9 % total placenta previa, 21.1 % partial placenta previa, 13.1 % low-lying placenta previa and 7.9% marginal placenta previa. 3. Placenta previa has occured more often in multipara (63.2%) than primigravida 4. More than one-third (38.8%) cases of placenta previa had delayed admission until labor occured for some time following vaginal spotting has first time been noticed. More instructive prenatal education should be emphasized 5. Lower segment transverse section rate was 63.2%, classical cesarean section rate was 15.8% and cesarean hysterectomy was 9.8%. The rest of them were treated by vaginal deliveries of 5 cases(13.2%) 6. The perinatal loss associated with placenta previa was considered still higher : the premature death was 15.8% and term death was 2.6%. The problem of prevention of prematurity still remains to be studied. 7. There was no maternal mortality in our study

This paper presents a primary study for a new method of enhancing measurement using impedance analysis method, which is widely used for structure health monitoring. Many of skyscrapers, bridges, tunnels, which have been built up several years, and nearly reached their operating life due to aging crack, material deterioration, and so on. therefore, the health monitoring technique has obtained considerable attention. The goal of this research is to show basic information to evaluate structural health condition using piezoelectric sensors. The piezoelectric materials have various merits. It is easy to shape various forms and can be embedded on the materials more conveniently. Moreover, the excitation frequency can be changed and the piezoelectric sensors cost less. All these features make the piezoelectric-based system applicable to structural healthy monitoring. This work presents a study for the development of a practical and quantitative technique for assessment of the structural health condition by piezoelectric impedance-based technique associated with longitudinal wave propagation. To estimate the damage condition numerically, we suggest the evaluation method Cov (Covariance) and CC (Correlation Coefficient) in this paper.

재조합 대장균에서 대량발현 시킨 Citrobacter freundii KCTC 2006 유래이 효소 β-tyrosinase를 이용하여 pyrocatechol, sodium pyruvate, ammonium acetate로부터 3,4-dihydroxy phenyl-L-alanine을 생산하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 이 효소반응에 적합한 온도 및 pH 조건은 각각 18℃와 8.5로 결정되었고, 반응액 중의 ammonium acetate와 sodium pyruvate의 농도는 각각 300 mM, 50 mM 이상으로 조절하는 것이 적합하였다. Pyrocatechol의 경우는 20 mM에서 가장 높은 반응성을 나타냈으나, 기질을 반복적으로 첨가하며 장시간 동안 효소반응을 수행하는 경우에는 pyrocatechol의 고갈을 피하기 위하여, 20 mM에서 50 mM 사이로 조절하였다. 한편, 반응액 중에 ethanol을 10% 첨가한 경우에는 반응속도가약 20% 증가하였다. 이상과 같은 효소반응특성에 기초하여 조제한 기질용액에 β-tyrosinase를 1 unit/㎖ 농도로 가하고, pyrocatechol과 pyruvate가 고갈되지 않도록 간헐적으로 첨가하면서 효소반응을 수행한 결과, 24시간 만에 85.2%의 수율로 31.6g/ℓ의 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-L-alanine를 생산할 수 있었다. By using the β-tyrosinase of Citrobacter freundii KCTC2006, which was cloned and overexpressed in Escherichia coli, 3,4-dihydroxy phenyl-L-alanine (L-DOPA) was synthesized efficiently from pyrocatechol, sodium pyruvate, and ammonium acetate. Optimal temperature and pH for the reaction were determined to be about 18℃ and 8.5, respectively. The effects of substrate concentrations were also examined at different concentrations of ammonium acetate, sodium pyruvate, and pyrocatechol. Ammonium acetate and sodium pyruvate increased the reaction rate until the concentrations reached to 300 mM and 50 mM, respectively. Although pyrocatechol showed the optimal concentration at 20 mM, it was controlled between 20 mM and 50 mM to avoid the depletion of substrate during the enzymatic synthesis. Based on above results, a reaction medium for the production of L-DOPA was prepared and incubated with 1 unit/㎖ of β-tyrosinase. Pyrocatechol and sodium pyruvate was added to the reaction solution intermittently to avoid the substrate depletion during the enzymatic reaction. After 24 hour of reaction, 31.6 g/ℓ L-DOPA was accumulated in the reaction solution as soluble and precipitated ones and the conversion yield was about 85.2%.

Fault Diagnosis based on Large-Scale Ball Mill System of Edge-Transmission

Pieces of large-scale equipment such as a ball mill system are subjected to heavy and alternate loads under the worst working conditions, which result in higher fault rate. However, since such equipments exert important functions to the economy and industry, it isn't recommendable to halt the production just to detect the defects under unconfirmed faults. The paper explores a reliable and practical fault diagnosis scheme for the ball mill system that is widely used in the building material industry. Utilizing the signal acquisition and process system of vibration, the field testing and analysis are performed based on the violent vibration of an edge-transmission φ3×11m ball mill system. The primary diagnosis based on the configuration of transmission system and foundation stiffness is found out clearly, and a feasible resolution scheme is obtained, so the optimal and economic reform scheme is determined. The detailed scheme has been adopted by the production industry. This study based on the fault diagnosis of edge-transmission ball mill system has comprehensive significance of theory and reality. This provides much more bases for vibration inspection and fault diagnosis in building materials industries.
Hyperthermia Promotes Apoptosis and Suppresses Invasion in C6 Rat Glioma Cells

Gliomas are a group of heterogeneous primary central nervous system tumors. Hyperthermia has proven to be a potential therapeutic tool for cancers in the clinic. However, the molecular mechanisms of hyperthermia remain unclear. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of hyperthermia on the invasiveness in C6 glioma cells and related molecular pathways. Here our data show hyperthermia stimulated the release of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-${\alpha}$) and decreased C6 glioma cell migration and invasive capability at 30, 60, 120 and 180 min; with increased spontaneous apoptosis in C6 glioma cells at 120 min. We also found mitogen-activated protein kinase (P38 MAPK) protein expression to be increased and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-${\kappa}B$) protein expression decreased. Based on the results, we conclude that hyperthermia alone reduced invasion of C6 glioma cells through stimulating TNF-${\alpha}$ signaling to activate apoptosis, enhancing P38 MAPK expression and inhibiting the NF-${\kappa}B$ pathway, a first report in C6 rat glioma cells.
