AlAs/GaAn/AlAs resonant tunneling structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). In this work we observe the occurrence of resonant tunneling through a GaAs/AlAs double barrier at room temperature. A peak to valley current ratio of 1.4 was observed. And we aware of a small deviation in current-voltage characteristics over the sample.

Adsorption on activated carbon on the basis of an effective and widely used process for removing p-toluidine organics from municipal and waste waters has been studied. In this study, the p-toluidine adsorption from aqueous solutions was performed using the activated carbon manufactured by Duksan Chemical Co. The main experimental procedures were divided into two parts of batch experiments and differential bed column tests. The results were as follows ; 1. In the test of pH effects on adsorption, maximum adsorption capacity on activated carbon was observed at pH 7 in solutions. So batch adsorption tests and differential bed adsorption experiments were performed at the condition of pH 7. 2. The adsorption isotherm experiments were conducted at various initial concentrations of 5, 10, 15, 20 & 25 ppm and at initial pH fixed at pH 7 in solutions, with varying carbon dosages. As the best fit Freundlich adsorption isotherm was determined as follows ; q_s = 69.1823C_s^(0.273144) 3. At pH 7 and the flow rate of 450㎤/min greater than 400㎤/min above which the film diffusion resistance was minimized in the differential bed column tests, the reaction kinetics for the removal of p-toluidine from the solution by activated carbon showed 즉 r = 0.01142C_fc - [(1.9887 X 10 exp(-7)) C_i^(2.496075)]q_s^(7.78558Ci^(0.62958)) 4. In the case of activated carbon surfaces treated with acid or basic solutions(O.l N-HC1, 0.1 N-H_2 SO_4, 0.1 N-HNO_3, 0.1 N-NaOH), activated carbon treated by 0.1 N-NH_3 showed good adsorption capacity. On the other hand, when the pH of solution was fixed at 7, carbons not treated by acid or basic solutions showed good performance. It was presumed that the activated carbon employed in this experiment was H-type.

This survey was carried out to investigate the seasonal variations in milk yield, milk fat content and in hygienic quality of raw milk collected from dairy farms in Gyeongnam area from January to December, 1986. Average milk yield per head was 14.8 kg in a day, and the amount of milk yield was greatest in January and December and vice versa in June to September. Fat content of raw milk was average 3.57% is a year and the levels were higher than the average in January to March and October to December but lower in April to September. In somatic cell counts calculated by Rolling Ball Viscometer, positive reaction including trace score (over 250,000 cells/ml) was showed in about 39.0% of bulk milk samples and percentage of the positive reaction was high is proportion to the herd sizes of the farms being large. Percentage of the raw milk rejected in inspection was average 0.24% and it was low in proportion to the herd sizes of the farms being large. The rejection rate revealed most high in May to August and acidification was the most important one of the rejection causes.

에칠렌은 황화(etiolated)완두콩의 종아의 절간조직에서 굴지성 자극에 의한 오옥신의 횡적 이동(lateral transport)의 방향을 역전시키고 그 결과로 줄기의 양성 굴지성 반응을 초래한다. 이와 같은 에칠렌의 작용은 중력 감수체(statolith)라고 알려진 전분체의 세포내 이동과는 별 관계를 찾아 볼 수가 없다. 그러나 전분체와 마찬가지로 중력의 작용으로 세포의 밑부분으로 이동하는 골지체는 에칠렌의 영향을 받으면 그 이동 방향이 역전되어 세포의 윗부분으로 몰리게 된다. 이와 같은 실험결과는 골지체의 이동이 굴지성 자극의 감수, 또는 이로 인한 오옥신의 재분포와 차별적인 세포신장에 대해 어떤 인과 관계에 놓여 있다는 것을 제시해 주고 있는 것이다. Ethylene was found to reverse the direction of gravity-induced lateral auxin transport and to cause an accumulation of auxin in the physically upper sides of horizontally placed pea shoots. The pea shoot displayed a slightly positive(downward) geotropic curvature in the presence of applied ethylene. Golgi bodies were found to be distributed preferentially in the bottom halves of cells as against the top halves following geotropic stimulation, and this pattern of intracellular distribution of dictyosomes was also reversed by ethylene treatment. Intracellular displacement of amyloplasts as a result of geotropic induction was not reversed by the action of ethylene. In view of a positive correlation between the direction of auxin movement and the displacement pattern of dictyosomes, it is suggested that the Golgi bodies are involved in the perception of gravity and/or subsequent redistribution of auxin or differential elongation in geotropism.

Steeping waxy rice is an important process for Yukwa(Korean traditional snacks) making. The pH of steeped water was decreased to 3.8 by increasing steeping days. The first step during steeping may be lactic fermentation by the growth of Lactovacillus, resulting decreasing the pH of steeped water. The second step of steeping was the modification of waxy rice components, primarily starch by growing microorganisms.
벼 생육중기 및 출수기 태풍 "올가" 건풍에 의한 엽신 피해의 품종간 차이와 수량 및 품질 변화

1999년 8월3일~8월4일간 태풍 올가 도래시 건풍에 의한 생육중기 엽신 피해의 품종간 차이와 출수기 이삭 갈변에 따른 수량 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 잎의 증산량 및 수분저하속도가 클수록, 잎이 길이가 길고 폭이 넓을수록 엽신의 피해정도가 컸다. 2. 이삭의 피해 정도가 증가될수록 임실 및 등숙비율은 현저히 낮아지는 경향이며, 쌀 수량은 무피해 대비 피해 3~5는 14~16%, 피해 7은 28%, 피해 9는 48% 감수하였다. 3. 이삭의 피해 정도별 백미 완전미 비율은 피해 정도가 클수록 감소를 보였으며 피해 0~3에서 63~65%, 피해 5~9에서 42~58%의 분포를 보였다. 4. 이삭의 피해정도가 증가할수록 백도 및 색도치가 낮아지며, 단백질 함량은 증가하고 식미치는 저하하는 경향을 보였다. This study was carried out to characterize the influence of dry wind by typhoon "Olga" during Aug. 3~Aug. 4, 1999 on the rice plant(Oryza sativa L.). For the purpose, the affection of the dry wind during the mid-growing stage and heading stage on the leaf damage, yield and rice quality were investigated. The extent of the leaf damage increased with the increase of leaf size and transpiration rate, and also with the decrease of moisture content in the leaves. The percentage of fertile grain decreased in proportion to the increase of the extent of the panicle damage. Compared with none-damaged rice plants in the panicle, the milled rice yield decreased by 14~16% in the degree 3~5 of the panicle damage, and 28~48% in the degree 7~9. The percentage of head rice was the same in the both milled and brown rice in the degree 0~3 of the panicle damage. Above the degree 5, however, it decreased with the increase of the panicle damage. The whiteness and lightness decreased in proportion to the increase of the degree in the unhulled, brown and milled rice. And, there was a tendency that the protein content in the milled rice increased but eating quality decreased with the increase of the panicle damage.

Comparing with diode or thyristor bridge AC/DC converter, It is known that the 3 phase PWM converter has some merits of low THD and unit power factor. In many application such as UPS, it has been a trend to use PWM converter The study on 3 phase PWM converter has already been widely made. However analytical design can not be found from the publications on hardware and controller design. In this paper, the review on analysis of 3 phase PWM converter was made. Through the DC analysis the design of system parameter was made . Through the AC model the voltage and current controller was designed. The gain of controllers was also calculated by analytical method.
