Primary colonic lymphoma is a rare disease and open surgical biopsy is usually necessary for hietological confirmation. Despite the submucosal location of the tumors, histological confirmation is frequently made by endoscopic multiple punch biopsies. Recently, three patients were admitted to the hospital with right lower guadrant abdominal pain, mass and abnormalities in the right colon and cecum on the barium enema. We performed colonoscopy and found smooth surfaced polypoid mass with occasional shallow ulcerations without lobulation, so suspected lymphoma endoscopically but failed to confirm histologieal diagnosis by usual punch biopsy. Thereafter, all three cases were undergone to laparntomies, and two were confirmed to be non-Hodgkins lymphoma and the other was Hodgkins disease. Here, we present those three cases of endoscopically found colonic lymphoma with review of literatures.
능동 어레이 해석법에 의한 굴절율 도파 어레이의 방사빔 특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, the near-field intensity and phase profiles and the corresponding far-field intensity patterns of the lasing supermode at threshold for AlGaAs/GaAs index-guided laser arrays with three stripes have been calculated by active array analysis. In order to obtain a sing-lobe far-field an array with net-loss between channels should have a channel width w=3㎛, a channel spacing w'=3㎛ and an effective refractive index step Δη=0.005. Both an array with w=4㎛, w'=4㎛ and Δη=0.003 and an array with w=4.5㎛, w'=3.5㎛ and Δη=0.005 have a twin-lobe far-field. But we can make these two arrays have a single-lobe far-field by increasing the thikness of a passive cladding layer to 1㎛.
Active Array Analysis vs. Passive Array Analysis : A Comparison

본 논문에서는 주입된 전류운반자가 굴절율에 주는 영향과 광분포가 전류운반자에 주는 영향을 모두 고려하면서 beam propagation method에 기초하여 해석하는 능동 어레이 해석법과, 두 영향을 고려하지 않으면서 coupled-mode formalism에 기초한 수동 어레이 해석법을 세 개의 채널을 갖는 굴절율 도파 어레이에 대하여 적용하고, 그 계산 결과를 검토 비교하였다. 발진하는 모드의 차수는 두 방법 모두 같은 결과를 제공하더라고 발진 모드의 near-field와 far-field의 profile은 두 방법이 매우 다른 결과를 보여 주었고, ω=ω'=3㎛의 경우가 ω=ω'=4㎛의 경우 보다 더욱 큰 차이를 보였다. In this pater the active array analysis based on the beam propagation method, taking into account the effect of injected carriers on the refractive index and the effect of the optical field on the carrier distribution, has been compared with the passive array analysis based on the coupled-mode formalism in case of three-channel index-guided arrays. The near- and far-field profiles obtained by the passive array analysis are quite different from those obtained by the active array analysis, even though both methods get the same supermode order lasing at threshold. The discrepancy between the active and passive analyses is more outstanding in the ω=ω'=3㎛ case than in the ω=ω'=4㎛ case.
굴절율 도파 어레이의 모드 선별성, 방사빔폭 및 모드 안정성에 관한 연구

We have studied the effect of channel and/or spacing chirpings on the near field and near field intensity patterns, modal gains and radiation angles of 6 supermodes in the index-guided laser arrays with 6 channels, on the basis of the coupled mode theory. The spacings between channels can be indenpendent parameters for control of the radiation angle. It is found that an asymmetrically v channel-chirped array has both a smaller radiation angle and better supermode discrimination characteristics than a uniform array. Comparing two approaches for enhancing modal stability in point of supermode discrimination characteristics, approach I which increases the coupling cofficient between the outer-most waveguides at each end of an otherwise uniform array, has superior discrimination characteristics to the approach II which increases the propagation constant for the end elements with the same coupling between neighbor elements. Approach III which has a narrower spacing between the outer-most waveguides at one end and a wider channel width of the outer-most waveguide at another end, gets a narrower radiation angle than the approach I and good supermode discrimination characteristics by applying optimized gain profiles.
굴절율 도파 다지역 레이저 어레이의 광특성에 관한 이론적 연구

In this paper, I have proposed new index-guided multi-section laser arrays with three stripes. The field intensity and phase profiles and the corresponding far-field intensity patterns of the lasing supermode at threshold have been calculated by a beam propagation method. It has been proved that proposed multi-section laser arrays of types and Ⅱhave a single-lobe beam in the far-field unlike a twin-lobe far-field in a uniform array, which comes from the fact that in the multi-section laser arrays "V-" and/or "Λ-" channel-chirped sections enhance the discrimination between supermodes and the increased interchannel gain, obtained by widening the channel width, causes to enhance the coupling across the device and therefore promote the tendency of the array to operate in the phase-locked mode.
