Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor associated with an unerupted mandibular lateral incisor: a case report
Seo, Won-Gyo,Kim, Chul-Hwan,Park, Hae-Seo,Jang, Jong-Won,Chung, Woo-Yeol The Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial S 2015 대한구강악안면외과학회지 Vol.41 No.6
Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is a rare, benign odontogenic tumor that predominantly appears in the second decade of life in female patients. Most AOTs occur in the anterior part of the maxilla and are usually associated with impacted anterior teeth. There are three types of AOT, follicular, extrafollicular, and peripheral, which are classified based on the location of the lesion and its association with the impacted tooth. We report a rare case of AOT associated with an impacted right mandibular lateral incisor in an 11-year-old female patient.
Pin Power Reconstruction of HANARO Fuel Assembly via Gamma Scanning and Tomography Method
Seo, Chul-Gyo,Park, Chang-Je,Cho, Nam-Zin,Kim, Hark-Rho Korean Nuclear Society 2001 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.33 No.1
To determine the pin power distribution without disassembling, HANARO fuel assemblies are gamma-scanned and then the distribution is reconstructed tv using the tomography method. The iterative least squares method (ILSM and the wavelet singular value decomposition method (WSVD) are chosen to solve the problem. An optimal convergence criterion is used to stop the iteration algorithm to overcome the potential divergence in ILSM. WSVD gives better results than ILSM , and the average values from the two methods give the best results. The RMSE (root mean square errors) to the reference data are 5.1, 6.6, 5.0, 6.5, and 6.4% and the maximum relative errors are 10.2, 13.7, 12.2, 13.6, and 14.3%, respectively. It is found that the effect of random positions of the pins is important. Although the effect can be accommodated by the iterative calculations simulating the random positions, the use of experimental equipment with a slit covering the whole range of the assembly horizontally is recommended to obtain more accurate results. We made a new apparatus using the results of this study and are conducting an experiment in order to obtain more accurate results.
시안산이 Superoxide Dismutase의 Carbamylation과 활성에 미치는 영향

The patients with end stage renal disease show several complications such as artherosclerosis, anemia and increased susceptibility to infection by damage due to oxygen free radicals. Superoxide dismutase(SOD) is directly linked to the fate of the highly reactive oxygen metabolites. If there is an alteration in the activity of SOD, this alteration may contribute to the complications by reactive oxygen species in patients with end stage renal disease. In this experiment, SOD activity and the effect of cyanate on the activity of SOD was studied to understand the mechanism of several complications mediated by oxygen free radicals in patients with end stage renal disease. SOD activity in the plasma and erythrocytes from patients with end stage renal disease was significantly lower than those from healthy controls. It is known that underproduction of SOD leads to excess production of superoxide and reduced iron favoring hydroxyl radical formation. The results in this experiment suggest that there is an overproduction of superoxide anion in patients with end stage renal disease. The overproduction of superoxide anion may contribute the patients with end stage renal disease susceptible to oxidant damages. To evaluate if cyanate could carbamylate SOD, SOD was incubated with cyanate. The level of carbamylated SOD increased as the time of exposure to cyanate increased from 0 hour to 72 hours. Furthermore, the degree of carbamylation of SOD increased as cyanate concentration in the incubation media rose from 20mM to 1M. There appears to be a maximum degree of carbamylation at a concentration of 1,000mM cyanate. To test the hypothesis that in vitro carbamylation of SOD alters its biological activity, SOD activity was measured after incubation with cyanate. The activity of carbamylated SOD decreased as the time of exposure to cyanate increased from 0 hour to 72 hours. Furthermore, the activity of carbamylated SOD decreased as cyanate concentration in the incubation media rose from 20mM to 1M and when albumin was added to the reaction mixture, the loss of SOD activity was prevented. These results are consistent with the hypothesis that SOD is also carbamylated and lost biological activity in end stage renal disease patients by cyanate, and that the degree of carbamylation depends on both the concentration of cyanate and the length of exposure. Also, these suggest that albumin may prevent carbamylation of SOD at least in vitro condition.

This paper addresses simplified method for nonlinear soil-structure interactions (SSI) analysis of base-isolated nuclear power plant (NPP) structure under incident seismic waves. The accuracy and applicability of the method are evaluated by comparing with nonlinear time history responses obtained by the boundary reaction method (BRM).
Effect of Neutron Energy Spectra on the Formation of the Displacement Cascade in ${\alpha}-Iron$
Kwon Junhyun,Seo Chul Gyo,Kwon Sang Chul,Hong Jun-Hwa Korean Nuclear Society 2003 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.35 No.5
This paper describes a computational approach to the quantification of primary damage under irradiation and demonstrates the effect of neutron energy spectra on the formation of the displacement cascade. The development of displacement cascades in ${\alpha}-Iron$ has been simulated using the MOLDY code - a molecular dynamics code for simulating radiation damage. The primary knock-on atom energy, key input to the MOLDY code, was determined from the SPECTER code calculation on two neutron spectra. The two neutron spectra include; (i) neutron spectrum in the instrumented irradiation capsule of the high-flux advanced neutron application reactor (HANARO), and (ii) neutron spectrum at the inner surface of the reactor pressure vessel steel for the Younggwang nuclear power plant No.5 (YG 5). Minor differences in the normalized neutron spectra between the two spectra produce similar values of PKA energy, which are 4.7 keV for HANARO and 5.3 keV for YG 5. This similarity implies that primary damage to the components of the commercial nuclear reactors should be well simulated by irradiation in the HANARO. Moreover, the application of the MD calculations corroborates this statement by comparing cascades simulation results.

Tunable lasers have played an important role in a variety of industrial fields, by supplying stable output over a wide range of wavelengths. The external-cavity diode laser (ECDL) is widely used, because it provides a relatively broad tuning range, compact configuration, and easy control. In this paper, a new design is proposed for the Littman ECDL. The new design possesses a mode-hop-free single mode which is capable of tuning over a wide range of 17 nm, as a result of reconfiguring the pivot point location. Simulation and experimental studies were performed to verify our proposed method.
