      • HIV 감염자에 대한 달팽이 엑기스의 혈액면역학적 효과

        A unique sialic-acid-binding lectin from giant African snail Achatina fulica(AF) has a T cell mitogenicity. It was also noted that acetone extracts of AF have a anti-HIV effect in vitro. Thirty HIV-infected individuals(HIV+) were treated with AF extract(40% Chunho extract) for average 5. 5 months. Peripheral blood sampling and questionnaire were done every month after take. There was a significant decrease of WBC from 4 months after take. As a result, lymphocyte counts also decreased(P<0.01). However, there was a significant increase of CD4+T cell percentage from 1 month(P<0.01). The mean increase of CD4+T cell count was significant for first one month(39/pl)(P<0.05). Body weight also increased significantly(P<0.05). Over 90% HIV+ ex-pressed symptomatic improvement and wanted to be treated with AF extract continuously after the end of this study. In one HIV+ treated with AF for 19 months, the increases of CD4+T cell percentage and counts over 11 times after AF extract take were mean 67% and 85%, respectively, compared to baseline value. These data strongly suggest that aqueous AF extract has a immune enhancing effect on HN+.

        Ultrasonic spray systems to atomize liquid materials with applying ultrasonic energy have rapidly increased in medical and industrial applications since they can easily control the size and quantity of particle as compared to the mechanical method. In this study, we design and fabricate ultrasonic nozzle with different horn design, such as conical, step and complex type, investigate electrical and spray characteristics of ultrasonic nozzles. We also analyze the relationship between the size and distribution of particle and resonant frequency.

      • 에너지 효율 스마트 윈도우용 전기 변색 재료의 개발

        The electrochromism of WO_3 and V_2O_5 thin films have been studied. The WO_3 thin film is found to be cathodic coloration material and the coloration efficiency of this film is close to 60〔㎠/C〕 in the near infrared region. The V_2O_5 thin film exhibits cathodic coloration in the near infrared and anodic coloration in the blue and near UV region. The cathodic coloration in the 450∼1100 nm wavelength range is relatively weak with a maximun coloration efficiency of 6〔㎠/C〕. It was found that the amorphous WO_3 thin films with 100 nm thickness have electrochromic properties suitable for counter electrode to WO_3 thin film based complementary devices.

      • 다중 제어루프에 의한 자기부상용 DC-DC 전원장치에 관한 연구

        The author present a modified multi-loop algorithm including feedforward for controlling a 55kW step down chopper in the power supply of Maglev. The control law for the duty cycle consists of three terms. The first is the feedforward term which compensates for variations in the input voltage. The second term consists of the difference between the slowly moving inductor current and output current. The third term consists of proportional and integral terms involving the perturbation in the output voltage. This perturvation is derived by subtracting the desired output voltage from the actual output voltage. The proportional and integral action stabilizes the system and minimizes output voltage error. In order to verify the validity of the proposed multi-loop controller, simulation study was tried using Matlab simulink.

        We have fabricated offset gated n-channel polysilicon thin film transistors with different offset length in order to reduce anomalous off-current and examined the effect of offset gated structure on poly-Si TFT's. It is found that offset regions behaves as a parasitic series resistance that lowers the on-current as it reduces the off-current. For the W/L =50㎛/10㎛ of poly-Si TFT's studied the optimum offset length is 0.5㎛ and its on/off current ratio is improved about two order magnitude larger than that of the conventional structure TFT's.

      • 축류 회전차 후방의 2차유동과 후류에 관한 실험적 연구

        The measuring system controlled by microcomputer was constructed in order to measure the three dimensional flow field behind an axial flow compressor rotor. Detailed measurements were made of the flow field behind an axial flow rotating blade row using this system and a 45°single slanted hot wire. The interaction of the wake with the annulus wall boundary layer, the secondary flow and the tip leakage flow results in slower decay and larger width of the wake. By the mixing of the wake with the strong secondary flow at the corner between the hub wall and the suction side, the wake near the hub wall has the largest width and the largest axial velocity defect. The reduction of the mass flow rate entails separation, stall and larger tangential velocity. In particular, as leakage flow become strong, it absorbs the wake and affects the flow at the full passage near the casing wall.

        Micromechanical structures such as cantilever beams and bridge array (~μm thick, 100~500 μm long) were fabricated by formation of porous silicon layer. The beam array of n/p samples have irregular etched surface and cusp. On the otherhand, beams of n/n^(+)/n structure have clear etched surface and no cusp.

        노인정신장애 평가척도(Psychogeriatric Assessment Scale)의 한국판 표준화 연구

        연구목적 : 본 연구는 치매와 우울증을 다차원적으로 평가할 수 있는 도구인 Psychogeriatric Assessment Scale(PAS)의 한국판(PAS-K)을 개발하기 위한 것이다. 방 법 : 번역, 역번역, 그리고 세차례의 예비조사를 통하여 PAS-K를 제작하였다. 60세 이상의 노인 291명(임상환자군 : 58명, 지역사회노인군 : 168명, 수용시설 거주자 : 67명)과 그들의 정보제공자들을 대상으로 PAS-K, Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS), Korean version of Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE-K), Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HRSD), 그리고 Hachinski Ischemic Score 를 적용하고, Diagnostic Interview chedule(DIS-Ⅲ-R)을 사용하여 치매와 우울증을 진단하였다. PAS-K의 신뢰도와 타당도를 평가하고, 예민도와 특이도, Kappa값, 그리고 ROC커브 분석법을 이용하여 PAS-K의 6개의 소척도들(피검자면접 : 인지기능 장애척도, 우울척도, 뇌졸중척도, 정보제공자면접 : 인지기능 저하척도, 행동변화척도, 뇌졸중척도)의 최적 절단점을 구하였다. 결 과 : PAS-K는 높은 내적 일관성을 보였고, 검사자간 신뢰도도 만족할 만한 수준이었다. PAS-K의 소척도들을 다른 표준화된 검사도구들과 비교하였을 때 인지기능 장애척도와 인지기능 저하척도는 MMSE-K와, 우울척도는 GDS 및 HRSD와 유의한 상관관계를 보였으며, 뇌졸중척도는 Hachinski Ischemic Score와 통계적으로 의미있는 상관관계를 보였다. 최적절단점은 인지기능 장애척도 10점, 인지기능 저하척도 3점, 우울척도 5점, 피검자면접과 정보제공자 뇌졸중척도 모두 1점, 그리고 행동변화척도 2점으로 추정하였다. 결 론 : 본 연구를 통해 PAS-K의 신뢰도와 타당도가 검증되었고, 노인정신의학 역학연구나 보건분야에서 치매와 우울증의 임상경과관찰 및 일차 선별도구로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있게 되었다. Objectives : This study was designed to develop the Korean version of the Psychogeriatric Assessment Scale(PAS-K), a multidimensional screening tool for the dementia and depression. Methods : Through three times preliminary trials, the authors translated PAS into Korean. The PAS-K, Geriatric Depression Scale, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, Hachinski Ischemic Scale and Mini-Mental State Examination-Korean version were administered to 291 subjects over the age of 60 and the same number of their informants(67 subjects were institutionalized, 168 subjects were in community, 58 subjects were psychiatric hospital patients). And the Diagnostic Interview Schedule(DSM-Ⅲ-R) was independently administered to exactly diagnose dementia and depression. The reliability and validity test, optimal cut-off point estimation for six each scale and ROC curve analyses were done to investigate the diagnostic validity of PAS-K. Results : Internal consistency and interrater reliability of the PAS-K were high. Concurrent validity of each scales of PAS-K was good in being measured with other standardized scales. The optimal cut-off points of each scale of the PAS-K were estimated as follows : 1) Stroke Scale of subject interview : 1, 2) Cognitive Impairment Scale of subject interview: 10, 3) Depression Scale of subject interview : 5, 4) Stroke Scale of informant interview : 1, 5) Cognitive Decline Scale of informant interview : 3, and 6) Behavioral Change Scale of informant : 2. conclusions : The PAS-K was valid and reliable screening tools for detecting dementia and depression. Therefore the PAS-K could be widely and extensively used in psychogeriatric epidemiological research or clinical setting of primary screening for dementia and depression.

        한국 주요정신장애의 유병률 및 관련요인 : 2006 전국정신질환역학조사

        Objectives The aims of this study are to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in the Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI), and to compare those with previous studies. Methods The Korean Epidemiologic Catchment Area study Replication (KECA-R) was Conducted between August 2006 and April 2007. The sampling of the subjects was carried out across 12 catchment areas. A multistage, cluster sampling design was adopted. The target Population included all eligible residents aged 181o 64 years. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI) based on the DSM-IV (N=6,510, response rate=81.7%). Results A total of 6,510 participants completed the interview. The lifetime and 12-month prevalence rates for all types of DSM-IV disorders were 30.0% and 17.3%, respectively. Those of Specific disorders were as follows : 1) alcohol use disorder, 16.2% and 5.6% ; 2) nicotine use disorder, 9.0% and 6.0% ; 3) specific phobia, 3.8% and 3.4% ; 4) major depressive disorder, 5.6% and 2.5% ; and 5) generalized anxiety disorder, 1.6% and 0.8%. Data relating to nicotine and alcohol use disorder revealed a very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among females than males. Conclusion The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in the distribution of psychiatric disorders across the country and times were observed.

      • 보행환경이 보행에 미치는 영향

        Fall-related accidents account for more than 800,000 injuries and 13,000 fatalities a year in North Americain. And also it is estimated that one-third of all persons 60 years old and older suffer falls each year. The Balance and posture are affected by vision, vestibular system and somatosensory system(proprioception). Three influences related to the older population's risk of falling are normal aging progress, pathology that increases with age and environmental conditions. In this study, to understand the effect of various environmental conditions on kinetic characteristics of initiation of gait and standing posture, vertical ground reaction forces(VGRF), center of pressurc(COP), postural analysis and psychologic index were evaluated in 20 men with no history of neuromusculoskeletal abnormality. The results are 1) VGRF according to various environmental conditions are not significant change. 2) Temporal analysis of IOG according to carpet and wood floor are significantly slowed in wooden floor. 3) Temporal analysis of IOG with or without shoes are not significnat change. 4) The effects of illumination to balance increased maximal oscillation by decreased of illumination
