저자등은 만성 alcoholism 환자에서 만성 췌장염 및 췌장 가낭종에 의한 심와부와 좌상복부통으로 내원하여 우연하게 실시된 식도 내시경 및 조직 생검으로 의진되어 In situ hybridization에 의하여 확진하게된 Herpes virus에 의한 식도염 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Herpes simplex esophagitis is a rare disease. Mostly, it occurs in hospitalized, immunosuppressed, and preterminal patients with or without malignancy. It is confirmed by In situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, or direct visualization of virus by electronmicroscopy. Among them the former is an useful technique for rapid detect viral nucleic acids in the tissue sections. We report a esophageal ulceration with pancreatic pseudocyst. Herpetic esophagitis was suggested by characteristic endoscopic and light microscopic findings, and it was confirmed by In situ hypridizaion in the tissue section. With symptomatic treatment, this patient was recovered from esophageal ulceration.
Integration of a Passive-Type UHF RFID Tag Using Ferroelectric Memory Technology

We investigated a passive-type rewritable radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag operating at the UHF (860 . 960 MHz) band and using ferroelectric memory (FeRAM) technology. The transponder integrated circuit(IC) for the UHF RFID tag was implemented with 0.25-μm one-poly four-metal standard logic CMOS technology with the addition of a FeRAM and Schottky diodes. The Pb(Zr,Ti)O3(PZT) capacitor array with a unit area of 1.4 × 1.4 μm2 for the FeRAM-embedded RFID tag showed a remnant polarization of 30 μC/cm2 and a leakage current of 1 × 10.5 A/cm2 at 3 V after full process integration. The novel ferroelectric technology utilizing a stacked capacitor structure and a high capacitance PZT capacitor allowed a highly competitive transponder chip size (550 × 550 μm2) by reducing the area of the analogue circuit without adding any complexity to the process integration. The PZT capacitor-based analogue circuitry showed almost the same performance as that of conventional capacitor type circuitry. Thus, the ferroelectric memory technology is very promising for the realization of a cost-effective, passive-type, rewritable UHF RFID tag.

<P>T helper 17-related cytokines have been implicated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis. The study aimed to identify cytokines associated with the treatment response of RA patients to tocilizumab (TCZ), a humanized monoclonal antibody against the interleukin- (IL-) 6 receptor. As an independent substudy of the 24-week, randomized, double-blinded CWP-TCZ301 trial of TCZ in RA patients with an inadequate response to disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, serum levels of cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-alpha, IL-17A, IL-21, IL-23, IL-6, and soluble IL-6 receptor were measured. Baseline IL-17A levels were significantly lower in RA patients who achieved disease activity score 28 (DAS28) remission at 12 weeks of TCZ treatment, compared to patients not in remission. Patients were stratified into IL-17A low group and IL-17A high group. Significantly more patients in the IL-17A low group achieved remission as compared to the IL-17A high group (47.6 versus 17.4%, <I>P</I> = 0.032). DAS28 improvement was significantly better in the IL-17A low group than in the IL-17A high group at 12 weeks (<I>P</I> = 0.045) and 24 weeks (<I>P</I> = 0.046) after adjustment. Other baseline cytokines were not associated with treatment response to TCZ. The data demonstrate that low baseline IL-17A levels are associated with better clinical response to TCZ treatment in RA patients.</P>

This paper describes a system controller connected via a shared bus to distributed subsystems for multi-tasking, which contributes to a high performance operating system at the lowest system cost. The system controller consists of a single board microcomputer. The subcontroller consists of incremental motion control system for both velocity and position control, employs low cost digital logic gates to achieve the system design flexibility possible with the microprocessor, utilizes a incremental encoder to provide both position and velocity signals, and derives the velocity profile and the rotation direction from the digital difference between the required position data and the feedback data. It is found to be effective in a point-to-point position control system for Industrial processing automatization.

<P>Abstract</P><P>Background and study aims: </P><P>A prepackaged low residue one-day diet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) has been recently developed to improve patient tolerance for bowel preparation prior to colonoscopy. The aims of this study were to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of bowel preparation protocols based on a low residue diet and 4L polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution, and to compare these new options with the traditional liquid diet and the PEG 4L lavage.</P><P>Methods: </P><P>A total of 214 patients (mean age: 54.1 years; 120 male, 94 female) from four university hospitals were included in the analysis. Patients were randomized to receive a clear liquid diet and the PEG 4L regimen (106 patients) or the low residue test meals and the PEG 4L regimen (TM-PEG 4L, 108 patients). The colon cleansing efficacy of the different preparations was rated using the Ottawa bowel preparation scale.</P><P>Results: </P><P>No significant differences were observed between the treatment groups according to the Ottawa cleansing scale findings (PEG 4L: 2.97 <I>vs</I> TM-PEG 4L: 2.46, <I>P</I> = 0.063). The overall tolerability was higher in the TM-PEG 4L group than in the PEG 4L group (<I>P</I> = 0.036). No difference was found when the two groups were compared with regard to adverse events (<I>P</I> = 0.599).</P><P>Conclusions: </P><P>A prepackaged low residue one-day diet provided cleansing efficacy similar to that of a clear liquid diet and offered the benefit of improved tolerability compared to the conventional PEG 4L regimen.</P>

염화철(II)과 염화코발트(II) 혼합물의 증기를 수소로 환원하는 방법에 의하여 0.1 미크론 이하의 철-코발트 합금 초미분체를 제조하였다. 철, 코발트의 혼합조성, 철, 코발트 염화물의 농도, 수소와 운반가스(알곤)의 유량, 초미분체 생성후 산화피막 형성조건 및 초미분체 생성시 자장을 걸어 주었을 때의 영향 등이 실험적으로 조사되었다. 생성된 철-코발트 합금 초미분체에 대하여 ICP(inductively coupled plasma), PIXE(proton induced X-ray emission), XRD(X-ray diffraction), EDS(energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy). XPS(X-ray photoemission spectroscopy), TEM(transmission electron microscopy), VSM(vibrating sample magnetometer)을 이용 입자크기분포, 불순물의 조성, 결정성 및 자기적 성질을 측정하였다. 생성된 철-코발트 합금 초미분체의 크기는 0.025-0.045 미크론 범위이었으며, 불순물로 존재하는 염소와 산소는 주로 분체의 표면에 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 초미분체가 생성되는 부분에 자장을 걸어 줌으로써 철-코발트 합금 초미분체의 사슬이 보다 곧게 되었으며 이에 따라 항자력의 값이 증가하였다. 제조된 철-코발트 합금 초미분체의 최대 항자력값은 1,466 oersted이었고, 포화자화값은 130-180 emu/g 범위로 나타났다. Ultrafine iron-cobalt alloy powders having diameters less than 0.1 micron were manufactured by hydrogen reduction of vapor mixtures of iron(II) chloride and cobalt(II) chloride. The effects of the following variables on chemical, morphological and magnetic properties of the powders were experimentally investigated: composition of iron and cobalt in the alloy powder, concentrations of the metal chlorides in the vapor, flow rates of hydrogen and carrier gas(argon), conditions for the post-formation of oxide films on the powder surface, and the magnetic field applied where the powder is formed. Particle size distribution, chemical compositions of impurities, crystal structure and magnetic properties of the powders were measured using ICP, PIXE, XRD, EDS, XPS, TEM and VSM. The average particle size of the powder was in the range of 0.025 to 0.045 micron. Most of oxygen and chlorine, major impurities in the powder, were observed to exist on the surface of the powder. By applying a magnetic field where the powder is being formed, the curved chain of iron-cobalt alloy particles was straightened, and a higher coercive force was obtained. The maximum coercive force of the iron-cobalt powders was 1,466 oersted. The saturation magnetization of the powder ranged from 130 to 180 emu/g.

<P>Carbon nanotube (CNT) membranes are considered as next-generation membranes for desalination. Among the various types of CNT membranes, vertically aligned (VA) CNT membranes provide rapid water transport. However, when the water permeability of VA CNT membranes are compared with those of the commercial membrane, the VA CNT membranes only showed slightly higher water permeability due to their low pore densities. Additionally, the applicability of VA CNT membranes for desalination has been limited due to their larger pore sizes. Herein, we improved VA CNT membranes in terms of the desalination potential, flux enhancement, and scale-up. For the desalination potential, graphene oxide (GO) or polyamide (PA) were coated on a VA CNT membrane as a selective layer, which showed approximately 40-65% NaCl rejection, respectively. A pretreatment polyelectrolyte coating for a GO-coated VA CNT membrane increased the water permeability by approximately 50%. For the flux enhancement, the water permeability of a VA CNT membrane was nearly doubled when the VA CNT forest was mechanically densified by half. Finally, an enlarged VA CNT forest (2 x 2 cm(2)), sequential VA CNT forests (1 x 1 cm(2)) in a large cast, and an assembly of the VA CNT membrane were suggested as scale-up approaches.</P>
