        Factors Associated with Smartphone Dependence of Late School-Aged Children: A Focus on Grit and Family Strengths

        Background: This study was to identify the factors influencing smartphone dependence among late schoolaged children, focusing on grit and family strengths. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 218 children in grades 5 and 6 who were recruited from elementary schools in U and Y cities. The data were collected through self-reported questionnaires, including smartphone dependence, grit, family strengths and general characteristics, for the month of December 2019, just before the novel coronavirus pandemic after obtaining approval from IRB. The collected data were analyzed using multiple regression. Results: Smartphone usage time, the main purpose of smartphone usage (game and social networking), and grit were identified as significant factors of smartphone dependence. This model explained 38% of the total variance showing the variable of grit with the greatest variance. Conclusions: A strategy to develop grit is needed to reduce smartphone dependence among late school-age children.

        임상간호사의 전문직 자아개념과 간호근무환경이 재직의도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 임상간호사의 전문직 자아개념과 간호근무환경이 재직의도에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 실시한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 B시와 Y시에 위치한 종합병원과 상급종합병원에서 근무하는 임상 간호사 152명으로 기관윤리위원회의 승인 후 자가보고식 설문지를 이용하여 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/Win 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 서술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson 상관계수(correlation coefficient), 위계적 다중회귀분석방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 전문직 자아개념이 평균 2.63점(범위 1-4점), 간호근무환경은 평균 2.46점(범위 1-4점), 재직의도는 평균 4.87점(범위 1-8점)이었다. 연구대상자의 일반적 특성 및 근무특성 중 결혼상태(t=2.481, p=.014), 임상실무경력(F=3.491, p=.009), 근무형태(F=-2.208, p=.029)에 따라 재직의도에 유의한 차이가 있었고, 전문직 자아개념(r=.590, p<.001) 및 간호근무환경(r=.375, p<.001)은 모두 재직의도와 유의한 양(+)의 상관관계가 있었다. 이들 변수가 재직의도에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 1단계 일반적 특성 및 근무특성을 투입하고, 2단계에서 간호근무환경 투입 시 간호근무환경만(β=.408, p<.001)이 재직의도에 유의한 영향을 미쳐 20.1%의 설명력을 보였다. 3단계에서 전문직 자아개념을 추가 투입 시, 임상실무경력 3년 이상에서 5년 미만(β=-.236, p=.031)과 전문직 자아개념(β=.508, p<.001)이 유의한 영향요인으로 확인되어 최종 38.5%의 설명력을 보였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of the nurse practice environment and professional self-concept on the retention intention among clinical nurses. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 152 nurses working in the general hospitals of B and Y cities. Data was collected after obtaining the approval of IRB and analyzed by SPSS/Win 21.0 software using hierarchical multiple regression. Retention intention was significantly different in the marital status, clinical career, and shift duty pattern. There were a significant positive correlations between nurse practice environment, professional self-concept and retention intention. When the general and work-related characteristics affecting retention intention were controlled, nurse practice environment turned out a significant predictor of the retention intention. When professional self-concept was included in addition, the factors that most influenced on retention intention were professional self-concept. This model explained 38.5% of the total variance. Therefore, it is necessary to come up with a strategy which strengthens professional self-concept in order to increase clinical nurses’ retention intention.

        레스토랑 블로그의 신뢰도, 지각위험, 지각혜택 및 구매의도와의 관계

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of bloggers'trust, perceived risk, benefit and intention to purchase in restaurants. Data were collected by a total of 206 college students in the Seoul. We employed a Structural Equation Modelling technique to test the causal model. The results indicate that bloggers' trust negatively influence perceived risks. However, the bloggers' trust was found to correlate positively with perceived benefit. The bloggers' trust postively influence an intention to purchase in restaurants. Implications of the results and limitations of the study were discussed.

        산소아과 간호사를 위한 문화적 역량 증진 프로그램 개발 및 효과

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the effect of a cultural competency promotion program for nurses in obstetricsgynecology and pediatrics. Methods: The cultural competency promotion program was developed through the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) steps. In this quasi-experimental study, 30 nurses in obstetrics-gynecology and pediatrics were assigned to the experimental group and 34 nurses were assigned to the control group. The experimental group received this program once a week for four weeks and each class lasted one hour. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, X2-test and Fisher’s exact test with the IBM SPSS Statistics version 21.0 program. Results: After attending the program, cultural competency (t=8.30, p<.001) increased significantly in the experimental group compared to the control group. There were also significant differences between two groups in cultural awareness (t=7.53, p<.001), cultural attitude (t=6.41, p<.001), and cultural knowledge & skills (t=7.79, p<.001) as components of cultural competency . Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that this cultural competency program is effective and efficient for nurses in obstetrics-gynecology and pediatrics and can help nurses provide appropriate multicultural nursing care in multicultural society.

        의학전문대학원생이 스스로 평가한 커뮤니케이션 능력 점수와 표준화 환자가 평가한 의학전문대학원생의커뮤니케이션 능력 점수의 일치도

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the concordance between self and standardized patient (SP) ratings of medical students' communication skills. Methods: Forty-three students interviewed SPs. The students were asked to complete a communication skills questionnaire that comprised 2 measures (empathy and interpersonal communication) before the interview. After each student’s interview with the SP, the latter completed the same questionnaire as the students. Results: Based on Lin's concordance coefficient, there was strong disconcordance between students' self-ratings and the SPs' ratings. With regard to empathic communication, more than 50% of students who considered themselves higher than middle level were regarded by SP as low level. On interpersonal communication, 39% of students who assessed themselves as higher than middle level were scored low level by SPs. Conclusion: There was strong disconcordance between students' self-ratings and the SPs' ratings—students tended to overevaluate themselves regarding their communication skills. These differences might result in patient dissatisfaction and noncompliance. Further,it could become a serious hindrance to the development of a good doctor-patient relationship. Medical educators should make sincere efforts to reduce this gap by teaching medical students the importance of the patients' perception of his doctors'communication skills.

        조리사의 개인-조직 적합성과 개인-직무 적합성이 직업 몰입, 조직 몰입, 이직 의도에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of person-organization fit and person-job fit on occupational commitment, organizational commitment and turnover intentions among cooks in the foodservice industry. Data were collected by a total of 210 cooks at restaurants in the Seoul and Kyunggi area. The analysis of AMOS was used to test the causal model. The results indicate that the person-organization fit was positively related to occupational commitment and organizational commitment. The person-job fit was also found to correlate positively with occupational commitment and organizational commitment. Occupational commitment was positively related to turnover intentions while organizational commitment was negatively related to turnover intentions. Implications of the results and limitations of the study were discussed.

        긍정의 말과 의도가 애기장대 종자의 발아와 생체중에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 긍정의 말과 의도가 애기장대의 발아와 생체중에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 매번 200개의 애기장대 종자를 4개의 묘판에 각각 50개씩 파종하였고 이를 3차례 반복 실험하였다. 10개의 긍정적인 말과 부정적인 말을 개발하여 사용하였으며, 사람의 음성과 기계음(test-to-speech software, Voice TestTM)을 통해 각각의 말을 애기장대 종자에 들려주었다. 또한 사람의 의도가 종자에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 실험자로 하여금 부정적인 말은 부정적인 의도를 가지고, 긍정적인 말은 긍정적인 의도를 가지고 읽게 하였다. 긍정적인 말과 부정적인 말, 그리고 의도는 발아율에 유의미한 영향을 주지 않았다. 그러나 평균 생체중 비교에서는 의도가 있는 사람의 긍정적 말이 애기장대의 생체중 증가에 유의하게 영향을 주었다. 따라서 애기장대에 긍정적인 의도를 포함하여 긍정의 말을 전달하였을 때 애기장대의 생체중에 크게 구별되는 효과가 있다는 점을 알 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of positive words and human intentions on germination ratio and fresh weight of Arabidopsis seedling. In each of total 3 experiments, 200 Arabidopsis seeds were planted in four seedbeds each containing 50 seeds. 10 positive and 10 negative words were developed and read by two different methods respectively (one by a human participant and another by text-to-speech(TTS) software(Voice TextTM). For the effects of human intention on seeds, the participant was specifically instructed to read positive and negative words with corresponding intentions. Positive/Negative words and human intention did not have any significant effects on germination ratio. However, positive words read by a human with good intention had noticeable effects on the fresh weight of Arabidopsis seedlings.
