        Lactobacillus reuteri ATG-F4 Alleviates Chronic Stress-induced Anhedonia by Modulating the Prefrontal Serotonergic System

        Mental health is influenced by the gut-brain axis; for example, gut dysbiosis has been observed in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). Gut microbial changes by fecal microbiota transplantation or probiotics treatment reportedly modulates depressive symptoms. However, it remains unclear how gut dysbiosis contributes to mental dysfunction, and how correction of the gut microbiota alleviates neuropsychiatric disorders. Our previous study showed that chronic consumption of Lactobacillus reuteri ATG-F4 (F4) induced neurometabolic alterations in healthy mice. Here, we investigated whether F4 exerted therapeutic effects on depressive-like behavior by influencing the central nervous system. Using chronic unpredictable stress (CUS) to induce anhedonia, a key symptom of MDD, we found that chronic F4 consumption alleviated CUS-induced anhedonic behaviors, accompanied by biochemical changes in the gut, serum, and brain. Serum and brain metabolite concentrations involved in tryptophan metabolism were regulated by CUS and F4. F4 consumption reduced the elevated levels of serotonin (5-HT) in the brain observed in the CUS group. Additionally, the increased expression of Htr1a , a subtype of the 5-HT receptor, in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) of stressed mice was restored to levels observed in stress-naïve mice following F4 supplementation. We further demonstrated the role of Htr1a using AAV-shRNA to downregulate Htr1a in the mPFC of CUS mice, effectively reversing CUS-induced anhedonic behavior. Together, our findings suggest F4 as a potential therapeutic approach for relieving some depressive symptoms and highlight the involvement of the tryptophan metabolism in mitigating CUS-induced depressive-like behaviors through the action of this bacterium.

        애매모호한 브랜드 네임이 소비자의 제품선호도에 미치는 영향 - 태그라인 및 조절초점의 상호작용효과를 중심으로 -

        본 연구는 브랜드 네임의 유형과 제품의 태그라인 유형 및 소비자 조절초점간 상호작용효과가 소비자의 제품 선호도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 총 두 차례에 걸쳐 실험을 실시하였다. 1차 실험에서는 89명의 여대생들을 대상으로 2(브랜드 네임의 유형: 애매모호한 브랜드 vs. 명확한 브랜드)×2(태그라인의 유형: 적당 불일치 vs. 일치) 완전요인 설계(Between-Subjects Full Factorial Design)를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 2차에서는 대학생 153명(남=53명, 여=100명)을 대상으로 2(브랜드 네임의 유형: 애매모호한 브랜드 vs. 명확한 브랜드)×2(태그라인의 유형: 적당 불일치 vs. 일치)×2(조절초점: 향상 vs. 예방) 완전요인 설계로 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 제품 선호도에 대한 브랜드 네임의 유형과 태그라인 유형의 상호작용효과 분석결과, 일치한 태그라인의 경우 브랜드 네임의 유형에 따라 제품 선호도에 차이가 없는 것으로 나타난 반면, 적당 불일치한 태그라인일 때는 소비자가 명확한 브랜드 네임보다 애매모호한 브랜드 네임에서 제품을 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 소비자의 제품 선호도에 대한 브랜드 네임의 유형과 조절초점의 상호작용효과 분석결과, 예방초점 소비자는 브랜드 네임의 유형에 따라 제품선호도에 차이가 없는 것으로 나타난 반면, 향상초점 소비자는 명확한 브랜드 네임보다 애매모호한 브랜드 네임에서 제품 선호도가 더 높게 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 시사점과 한계점 및 향후 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다. This study aims to investigate the interaction between brand name's type and taglines and regulatory focus on consumer's product preference. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the results of examining the effects of the interaction between tagline types(moderately incongruous vs. congruous) and brand name types(ambiguous brand vs. common descriptive brand) showed that, with moderately incongruous taglines, consumers' product preference was greater for ambiguous brand names than for common descriptive brand names, whereas with congruous taglines, there was no significant difference among brand name types. Second, the results of examining the effects of the interaction between brand name types and regulatory focus(promotion vs. prevention) showed that the product preference of consumers with promotion focus was greater for ambiguous brand names than for common descriptive brand names. On the other hand, in the case of consumers with prevention focus, there was no significant difference in their preference according to brand name types. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed. Also, limitations of this study and future directions are addressed.

        Ethanol Extract of Bupleurum falcatum Improves Functional Recovery by Inhibiting Matrix Metalloproteinases-2 and -9 Activation and Inflammation after Spinal Cord Injury

        Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are zinc-dependent endopeptidases that degrade the extracellular matrix and other extracellular proteins. Upregulation of MMPs activity is known to be required for the inflammatory cell infiltration after spinal cord injury (SCI) and most likely contributes to early blood spinal barrier disruption and inflammation, thereby leading to the impairment of functional recovery. Here, we examined the effect of ethanol extract of Bupleurum falcatum (BF) on functional recovery by inhibiting MMP-2 and -9 activation and inflammation after SCI. Rats received a moderate, weight-drop contusion injury to spinal cord were administered orally with BF at a dose of 100 mg/kg for 14 d and functional recovery was measured by Basso- Beattie-Bresnahan locomotor open field behavioral rating test, inclined plane test and foot print analysis. To examine the neuroprotective effect of BF, TUNEL staining and counting were also performed. In addition, the expression and/or activation of MMP-2, MMP-9 and inflammatory mediators such as TNF-Ձ, IL-1Ղ, COX-2, and iNOS were examined by RT-PCR and gelatin zymography using spinal cord tissue from 1 d after injury. Our data showed that BF significantly inhibited the expression and activation of both MMP-2 and MMP-9 after SCI. The mRNA expressions of TNF-Ձ, IL-1Ղ, COX-2, and iNOS were also significantly attenuated by BF. Furthermore, BF reduced apoptotic cell death at 1 d after injury, thereby significantly reduced lesion volume and improved functional recovery. Taken together, these results suggest that BF can be used as a potential therapeutic agent for treating acute spinal injury.

        통일형 벼에서 메소트리온계 제초제 저항성 연관 DNA marker 탐색

        This study was conducted to identify DNA markers related to resistance to herbicide containing mesotrione in Tongil type rice. Two Tongil type elite lines; Milyang154 and Suweon382, showed resistance to mesotrione, whereas the others were susceptible at 20 days after mesotrione application, and severe growth inhibition was observed in the remaining 13 lines. As a result of analysis of mesotrione resistance using 190 F2 populations derived from a cross of Hanareum2 (susceptible) and Milyang154 (resistant), the mesotrione resistance locus was shown to be a single dominant gene with a 3:1 segregation ratio (X2=1.19, P=0.31). To identify a DNA marker closely linked to the mesotrione resistance gene, bulked segregant analysis (BSA) was adopted. The DNA marker RM3501 was identified on chromosome 2 with a recombinant value of 0.53 to the mesotrione resistance gene. Mst1(t) was located between SSR (simple sequence repeat) markers RM3501 and RM324 with a physical map distance of 10.2 Mb–11.4 Mb on chromosome 2. The band pattern of agarose gel electrophoresis of the SSR marker RM3501 showed the same segregation pattern with respect to mesotrione treatment in 20 Tongil type varieties and a BC2F2 segregation population derived from a cross between Unkwang (resistant) and Hanareum2 (susceptible). Thus, the RM3501 DNA marker could be used in breeding programs for Marker Assisted Selection in mesotrione resistant rice breeding.

        중고령 비은퇴자의 예상 노후생활비 평가 연구

        현재 우리나라는 초고령 시대로 접어들고 있으며, 평균수명의 증가, 저출산과 같은 인구구조의 변화로 국가 차원의 노후보장 지원에는 한계가 있어 개인적인 노후 준비가 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 노후 준비를 위해서는 장기적인 계획과 실행이 요구되는데, 그 기본은 은퇴 이후 생활에 대한 목표설정과 노후생활비 예측 기반 노후 자금 규모를설정하는 것이다. 이때, 희망 수준이 아닌 현재 소비지출 수준과 향후 줄어들거나 증가할 것으로 예상되는 비용을 종합적으로 고려하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구는 국민노후보장패널 조사 8차 자료를 활용하여 중고령 비은퇴자의 예상 노후생활비 금액뿐만 아니라최소 노후생활비와 적정 노후생활비 비율, 개인 및 부부 기준 노후생활비 비율을 포함한노후생활비에 대한 평가를 살펴보았다. 또한, 은퇴에 따른 소비지출 변화의 관점에서 현재소비지출을 기준으로 1인 및 부부 가구가 노후생활비를 어떻게 예상하는지와 현재 소비지출 수준 대비 예상 노후생활비 수준 평가에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 월평균 소득과 지출 수준이 높을수록 예상 노후생활비를 높게 평가하였고, 개인 대비 부부 기준 생활비는 약 1.7배, 최소생활비 대비 적정생활비는 1.4배로 나타났다. 또한, 1인 가구와 부부 가구 모두 최소 노후생활비는 현재 소비지출 수준과 유사하게, 적정 노후생활비는 약 1.3배 높게 예상하였다. 또한, 현재 소비지출 중위수 기준으로 중위수 이하 집단과 초과 집단으로 구분하여 분석한 결과, 중위수 이하 집단에서 현재 소비지출 대비 최소생활비를 약 1.3배, 적정생활비를 약 1.7배 높게 평가하고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 현재 소비지출 대비 예상 노후생활비 평가의 영향요인을 살펴본 결과, 소득이 높을수록 노후생활비를 현재 소비지출 수준보다 더 적게 평가 확률이 높았고, 소득이 낮을수록 노후생활비를 현재 소비지출 대비 더 많게 평가할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 연령이 높을수록 노후생활비를 현재 소비지출 수준과 비슷하게 평가하기보다 더 많게 평가할 확률이 높았고, 연령이 낮을수록 현재 소비지출 수준보다 더 적게 예상할 확률이 높았다. 본 연구에서 도출된 중고령 비은퇴자의 특성별 예상 노후생활비 수준이나 개인/부부 및 최소/적정 노후생활비 비율의 결과치는 은퇴 및 노후설계 시 참고치로활용할 수 있을 것이며, 본 연구 결과는 향후 개인 특성에 따른 예상 노후생활비 분석 시금액 자체뿐만 아니라 현재 소비지출 대비 노후생활비 평가 수준을 함께 고려할 필요가있다는 점을 시사한다. This study used the data from the 8th Korean Retirement and Income Study (KReIS) to examine the retirement living expenses evaluation, including the minimum-appropriate retirement living expenses ratio and individual-couple retirement living expenses ratio among middle-aged and elderly non-retirees. In addition, from the perspective of changes in the consumption expenditure due to retirement, it included how individuals and couple households estimate retirement living expenses based on their current consumption expenditure and the factors that affect the evaluation of the retirement living expense level compared to the current consumption expenditure level. As a result of the study, when comparing the expected retirement living expenses for individuals and couples, the living expenses for couples were approximately 1.7 times those of individuals, and appropriate living expenses were found to be 1.4 times the minimum living expenses. In addition, for both single-person households and couple households, the minimum retirement living expenses were expected to be similar to the current consumption expenditure level, and the appropriate retirement living expenses were expected to be about 1.3 times higher. Finally, the main factors influencing the evaluation of expected retirement living expenses compared to the current consumption expenditure were analyzed. The higher the income, the more likely it was that retirement living expenses would be assessed as less than the current consumption expenditure, and the lower the income, the more likely it was that retirement living expenses would be assessed as more than the current consumption expenditure. In addition, the older the person, the higher the probability of estimating retirement living expenses as more than the current consumption expenditure level. The younger the person, the higher the probability of estimating the retirement living expenses to be less than the current consumption expenditure level. The results of the expected retirement living expenses level or individual/couple and minimum/appropriate retirement living expenses ratio in this study are expected to be used as a reference for retirement planning. This study suggests that when analyzing expected retirement living expenses, it is necessary to consider not only the amount itself but also the level of estimation of retirement living expenses compared to the current consumption expenditure.

        NAA10 Hypomethylation is associated with particulate matter exposure and worse prognosis for patients with non-small cell lung cancer

        Airborne particulate matter (PM) is a major health hazard worldwide and is a key factor in lungcancer, which remains the most common type of malignancy and the leading cause of cancerrelateddeaths. DNA methylation is a critical mechanism underlying the detrimental effects of PM,however, the molecular link between PM exposure and lung cancer remains to be elucidated. N-α-acetyltransferase 10 (NAA10) is involved in the cell cycle, migration, apoptosis, differentiation,and proliferation. In order to investigate the role of NAA10 in PM-induced pathogenesisprocesses leading to lung cancer, we determined the expression and methylation of NAA10 innormal human bronchial epithelial (NHBE) cells treated with PM10, PM10-polycyclic aromatichydrocarbons (PAH), and PM2.5 and evaluated the prognostic value of the NAA10 methylationstatus in lung cancer patients. Exposure to all PM types significantly increased the expressionof NAA10 mRNA and decreased the methylation of the NAA10 promoter in NHBE cellscompared with the mock-treated control. NAA10 hypomethylation was observed in 9.3% (13/140) of lung cancer tissue samples and correlated with NAA10 transcriptional upregulation. Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that NAA10 hypomethylation was associatedwith decreased survival of patients with lung cancer. Therefore, these results suggest that PMinducedhypomethylation of the NAA10 may play an important role in the pathogenesis oflung cancer and may be used as a potential prognostic biomarker for lung cancerprogression. Further studies with large numbers of patients are warranted to confirm ourfindings.

        합창공연 서비스품질 요인이 관객만족에 미치는 영향

        고급문화로 인식되고 있던 클래식공연은 클래식 축제 혹은 해설이 있는 오케스트라 공연 같이 다양한 방식을 통해 사람들에게 대중화되기 위하여 다가가고 있다. 그 결과 매년 공연횟수가 꾸준히 증가하였으며 2022년에는 코로나 이후 가장 많은 공연을 올린 장르가 되었다. 합창공연은 클래식 공연의 장르 중 하나로, 다른 클래식 공연에 비하여 아직까진 사람들에게 친숙하지 않은 장르이며 활성화되지 못하고 있다. 합창공연 분야의 발전을 위해서는 관객이 지각하는 합창공연의 구체적 품질요소를 규명하고, 이를 통해 향상된 품질의 공연서비스를 제공하여 관객의 만족도 향상과 이에 의한 재관람 혹은 재방문을 유도하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 Brady와 Cronin이 제안한 물리적 환경, 상호작용 및 결과로 구성되는 3차원 서비스 품질측정 모형을 기반으로 각 차원을 구성하는 하위차원요소를 확인하고, 이러한 하위차원 요소들이 관객이 지각하는 품질에 미치는 영향력의 차이를 규명하였다. 연구결과 합창공연 서비스품질은 물리적환경, 상호작용 및 결과품질 차원에서 각각 공연장과 부대시설, 직원서비스, 합창공연 프로그램과 연주자 실력 등 총 5개의 하위차원으로 구성되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 하위 품질차원요소 중 공연장, 합창공연 프로그램, 연주자 실력 요인의 3가지가 관객만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 수요자라고 할 수 있는 관객들을 대상으로 실증적 연구를 진행하여 합창공연의 서비스품질 요소들을 규명하였다는 바에 의의가 있다. 또한 향후 합창공연을 기획 및 구성하거나 운영할 경우 향상된 관객만족도를 제공할 수 있을 것이며, 이를 통해 합창공연의 활성화 방안 마련을 위한 기반적 자료로 이용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Classic performances, which were recognized as high-end culture, are approaching people in various ways, such as classical festivals or orchestra performances with explanations. As a result, the number of performances steadily increased every year, and in 2022, it became the genre with the most performances since COVID-19. Choral performances are one of the genres of classical performances, and compared to other classical performances, they are not yet familiar to people and have not been activated. For the development of the choral performance field, it is very important to identify specific quality factors of choral performances perceived by the audience and to provide improved quality performance services to improve audience satisfaction and induce re-view or revisit. In this study, the sub-dimensional elements that make up each dimension were identified based on the 3D service quality measurement model proposed by Brady and Cronin, and the difference in the influence of these sub-dimensional elements on the quality perceived by the audience was identified. As a result of the study, the quality of choral performance service consists of a total of five sub-dimensions, including concert hall, auxiliary facilities, employee services, choral performance programs, and performer’s skills, respectively. In addition, three of these sub-quality dimensional factors were found to have a significant effect on audience satisfaction. This study is meaningful in that it conducted an empirical study on the audience, who can be called consumers, to identify the elements of service quality of choral performances. In addition, if a choral performance is planned, organized, or operated in the future, it will be able to provide improved audience satisfaction, and through this, it is expected to be used as basic data for preparing measures to revitalize choral performances.

        딥러닝을 활용한 비전 기반 궤적 예측 연구 동향 분석

        Predicting the movement of objects, such as people, bicycles, and cars, is one of the important technologies. Since the moving object has an attribute value called the time series, technology of predict the trajectory of the moving object is being used in a wide range of fields. The vision-based trajectory prediction model, which predicts the next movement of a vehicle or collision between moving objects with image data from drones and CCTVs that transmit image data in real time, is an important application with the development of image deep learning technology. In this study, we introduced deep learning methodology related with vision-based prediction techniques, which have been studied recently, by dividing in to RNN, feedforward, GAN, attention module, and multimodal information. And also we looked into the field of the applications and the data sets that related with five divided categories. Referring to the methodology, application fields, and available datasets introduced in this study, it is expected to be of practical help in various domestic research fields utilizing the trajectory prediction in the future.
