Energy Applications of Electrospun Carbon Nanofiber Composites

Among the various existing energy storage technologies, electrochemical capacitors are promising power sources for portable electronic systems and automotive applications, due to their high power density and long life-time. Novel electrospun nanofibers with functional properties can dramatically alter surface reaction rates and charge transport throughout the batteries, causing significant improvement in energy storage efficiency. The design of electrospun nanofiber materials for alternative energy systems is, therefore, a way to develop next-generation energy storage system for a healthy future. Here, we present our work on the development of advanced carbon-based nanofiber electrodes and the integration of these materials into electrochemical capacitors and lithium ion battery with high energy and high power density to achieve high system performance.

As buildings and its facilities are going to be larger and more complex, the BAS (Building Automation Systems) is fundamental to facilities operation, control and maintenance of large-scaled building. Most of the existing BAS covered only limited roles such as building systems monitoring and control, and do not put to practical use for building energy management by using its integrated operation. Each building system (HVAC system, heating system, electric system etc.) is often planned and installed separately, and then it would be worked inefficiently from the side of building energy management. In this research, we aim at developing 3 elements for building energy management systems (Dynamic linkage module for an integrated building operation system, BEEMS, BGESS). In this paper we introduce basic scheme of user-oriented interfaces for SEEMS and BGESS and propose the functions of the linkage module between integrated building operation systems.

Objective : In this study, we conducted to analysis the patents about Korean medicine based treatment technology for pet. Methods : We collected the Korean, Japan, USA, China, EU and PCT patent for the Korean medicine-based treatment technology for pet using WIPSON data base registered by October 4, 2020 were selected. Results : Patents for the development of pet Korean medicine-based treatment technology have been constantly applied since the mid-2000s, starting in 1990, with a total of 84 applications. The number of patent applications filed in Korea was the largest, after Japan and China. The detailed composition of the applications reported until now is pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of pet were the most applied with 39%(33 cases), followed by feed used as stocks for pet at 36%(30 cases). According to the patent application rate by disease, most of applications rate composed to be associated with immunity in 2009 to 2013 with 40% of applications. In 2014 to 2018 43% of patent applications are associated with gastrointestinal/digestive system. In this regard, multiple applications were filed in the order of immunity, digestive system, obesity and urinary system. Conclusion : This study analyzed the trend of 84 patents about Korean medicine-based treatment technology for pet to date to establish the basis for future research and development. There were many applications related to immunity from 2009 to 2013, and since then, related to digestive disease from 2014 to 2018.

스마트폰의 보급과 함께 더욱 활성화되기 시작한 소셜 네트워크 서비스(SNS) 중 하나인 Facebook은 많은 장점을 가지고 있으나 이용자가 많아짐에 따라 단점 또한 적지 않게 발견되고 있다. 그 단점 중 가장 이슈가 되고 있는 것은 단연 개인 사생활의 노출 문제이다. 하지만 이러한 문제점에도 불구하고 Facebook의 운영방식은 이에 대한 규제를 강력하게 하지 않고 있다. 이런 느슨한 개인 정보 보호의 특징을 갖는 Facebook의 사용자들은 양면성을 띄고 있다. Facebook의 사용자들은 자신의 개인정보와 게시물 올리기, 댓글 달기 등의 활동은 감추고 싶어 하면서도 다른 사용자들의 개인정보와 활동들에 대해서는 알고 싶어 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 사용자들의 양면성이라는 측면에 관심을 갖고 연구를 시작하였다. 설문지와 반대 시나리오에 대한 비교검증을 통해 사용자들의 양면성을 조사하고, 적정수준의 공개를 하는 방안이 사용자들의 사용과 선호를 받는다는 사실을 파악하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 논문은 사용자의 양면성을 충족시키는 적정수준의 정보 공개는 Facebook의 운영방식과 그 맥락이 같다는 사실과 이 운영방식과는 다소 반대되는 Cyworld 미니홈피의 하락 추세를 설명 할 수 있다. Facebook, which is the most representative social networking service (SNS), attracts more and more users with increasing use of smartphones, but many problems are also arising with its increasing number of users. One prominent problem with Facebook is that of privacy violation. Despite that privacy has became a social issue, its service provider appears to be reluctant to implement strong regulations regarding the issue. One major reason behind the loose privacy policy may be in the double-sidedness of Facebook users. Although its users desire to have control over how their activities such as personal information, posting, ect are revealed to others, they at the same time wants to have liberal access to other users’ activities. This research is motivated by this double-sidedness of user desire. By using scenarios that compares different intentions of Facebook use (information posting vs. viewing), our survey results showed that users prefer some negotiable levels of public exposure of their activities. Our results are consistent with the current privacy policy of Facebook, and they may also explain the downfall of Cyworld service such as mini-hompy.
