        외국의 방사성동위원소 사용시설 방사성유출물관리 차등 규제기준비교·분석 및 국내 적용방안

        In Korea, current regulatory standards for radioactive effluent from radioisotope (RI)handling facility still needs to adopt a graded approach per the magnitude of radioactive material andthe likelihood of potential radiological impact. Also, a dose constraint for radioactive effluent has notbeen applied to the RI handling facility in Korea. To overcome the limitations and propose application toKorean regulations, this study comparatively analyzed regulatory standards of selected countries (UnitedStates, Germany, Finland, Sweden, and United Kingdom), reflecting the graded approach. All thosecountries have a single dose constraint (0.01 to 0.3 mSv y-1) as a small fraction of dose limits and apply itto the RI handling facility, which uses unsealed sources. Also, radioactivity concentration limits or totalradioactivity limits are derived from those constraints. In the United Kingdom (UK), the graded approachfor dose assessment is adopted with the optimization threshold (0.02 mSv y-1). With this threshold, the UKregulatory institute provides dose assessment methodology with conservative assumptions for screeningpurposes or methodology with relatively realistic assumptions for detail assessment. Based on thepractices of the selected countries, this study suggests establishing a dose constraint for the RI handlingfacilities to apply the graded approach in Korean regulatory standards. Also, the relevant regulatoryprocess should not place an undue burden on licensees. In line with this, the regulatory institute mightconsider providing a simple dose assessment tool for screening purposes or applicable discharge limitsin terms of total radioactivity or radioactivity concentration to help the licensees comply with the doseconstraints more easily. This study is expected to be used as the basic research to enhance the gradedapproach in Korean regulations on radioactive effluent control of the RI handling facility.

        애완학습곤충 소비자의 행동 모니터링

        본 연구에서는 점차 확대되고 있는 애완학습곤충 시장을 올바르게 이해하고 적절한 대응을 하기 위해 실제 소비자들의 이용행태를 모니터링 함으로써 소비자의 욕구를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 곤충 관련 박물관, 체험관, 곤충농장 등을 방문한 적이 있거나 곤충을 구매한 경험이 있는 소비자가 자신의 블로그에 올린 게시물들을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 게시물의 사진 및 텍스트를 중심으로 내용분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 애완학습곤충 시장은 자녀의 교육목적을 위한 초등학교 저학년 이하의 자녀를 동반한 가족형 방문형태인 것으로 나타났다. 방문 목적지는 주로 서울, 경기의 수도권에 집중되어있으며, 자녀의 방학기간을 이용한 방문이 가장 많았다. 사진 분석 결과 체험활동에 대한 높은 관심도를 확인할 수 있었으며, 만족한 내용도 체험거리가 많고 다양하다는 것이었기 때문에 앞으로도 직접 체험할 수 있는 다양한 형태의 수준별 체험 프로그램을 개발하여 제공해야 할 것이다. 또한 불만족한 내용은 곤충에 대한 거부감인 것으로 나타나 곤충에 대한 친근한 이미지를 형성할 수 있도록 다른 동물이나 식물과 연계한 프로그램의 개발 등 노력이 필요할 것이다. 또한 애완학습곤충 시장이 계속 성장하고 발전하기 위해서는 곤충종의 다양화 및 곤충을 활용한 체계화된 체험프로그램의 개발이 필요할 것으로 보인다. As the market of educational pet insects is expanding, understanding the consumer needs became more crucial. To achieve the ideal analysis on the market, this research monitored the behavior of consumers. The posting on the blogs of consumers, who have visited insect museums and farms, or have bought insects were collected as data. Moreover, the informational contents, photographs and texts, were analyzed. The results showed that the family-unit visitors with elementary school lower graders were the main type of visitors for their children's education. The visiting areas were concentrated in Seoul and the Metropolitans of Gyeonggi province, and the visits were mostly occurred during their children's vacation period. The analysis of posted photographs showed the visitors' high interest in the hands-on program. According to the texts on visitors' blogs, especially, the largest number of visitors satisfied with the variety of program. It implies the necessity of development in diverse and differentiated hands-on program. Otherwise, the programs available to connect insects to other animals and plants should be introduced to reduce aversion against insects, which was reported as the strongest dissatisfaction. In conclusion, diversification on insect species and development in systematized hands-on program seem to be required for the continuous growth of educational pet insects market.

        AHP를 활용한 애완곤충 종 선발의 평가지표 개발 및 적용

        본 연구를 통해 애완곤충산업에 이용될 수 있는 곤충 종에 대한 평가지표를 개발하였다. 분석 방법으로는 전문가 의견조사인 델파이(Delphi) 방법을 이용하여 4개의 대분류와 9개의 중분류로 구성된 평가항목을 도출하였다. 또한, 계층분석과정(AHP)을 활용하여 애완곤충 종을 선발하기 위한 평가기준을 마련하였고, 적용 시험을 통해 점수의 체계화를 구축하였다. We developed an evaluation index for selecting pet insect species. As an expert opinion survey, the Delphi method was used to establish evaluation items. Using AHP (analytic hierarchy process), evaluation criteria for selecting pet insects were proposed. And then based on application testing, we established a scoring system.

        Emergency department utilization and risk factors for mortality in older patients: an analysis of Korean National Emergency Department Information System data

        Objective With trends in population aging an increasing number of older patients are visiting the emergency department (ED). This study aimed to identify the characteristics of ED utilization and risk factors for in-hospital mortality in older patients who visited EDs. Methods This nationwide observational study used National Emergency Department Information System data collected during a 2-year period from January 2016 to December 2017. The characteristics of older patients aged 70 years or older were compared with those of younger patients aged 20 to 69 years. Risk factors associated with in-hospital mortality were analyzed by multivariable logistic regression. Results A total of 6,596,423 younger patients and 1,737,799 older patients were included. In the medical and nonmedical older patient groups, significantly higher proportions of patients were transferred from another hospital, utilized emergency medical services, had Korean Triage and Acuity Scale scores of 1 and 2, required hospitalization, and required intensive care unit admission in the older patient group than in the younger patient group. ED and post-hospitalization mortality rates increased with age; in particular, older medical patients aged 90 or older had an in-hospital mortality rate of 9%. Older age, male sex, transfer from another hospital, emergency medical service utilization, a high Korean Triage and Acuity Scale score, systolic blood pressure <100 mmHg, respiratory rate >20/min, heart rate >100/min, body temperature <36°C, and altered mental status were associated with in-hospital mortality. Conclusion Development of appropriate decision-making algorithms and treatment protocols for high risk older patients visiting the ED might facilitate appropriate allocation of medical resources to optimize outcomes.

        여러 가지 기기에서의 각막곡률 비교

        Purpose: To evaluate device efficacy using the corneal curvature value. Methods: Prospectively, 35 patients (70 eyes) were enrolled in the present study. Three sets of corneal curvature values were obtained using the autorefractor (RK-F1Ⓡ), manual keratometer (OM-2Ⓡ), partial coherence interferometry keratometer (IOL MasterⓇ), wavefront analyzer (KR-1WⓇ), and videokeratography (Orbscan IIⓇ). Repeatability of each device was evaluated by coefficient of variation, standard deviation, and intraclass correlation coefficient. RM-ANOVA on ranks was used to compare the differences in corneal curvatures among the devices. The Bland-Altman plot was performed to assess measurement agreement among the devices. Results: The coefficient of variation values from each device ranged from 2.92% (IOL masterⓇ) to 3.06% (Orbscan IIⓇ), and the values of intraclass correlation coefficient ranged from 0.965 (KR-1WⓇ) to 0.997 (IOL masterⓇ). Compared with the manual keratometer, there was a maximum corneal curvature difference of 1.23 D in KR-1WⓇ, while the other devices had differences less than 0.82 D. Conclusions: When assessing corneal curvature, the repeatability values were similar among the 5 devices, although a difference greater than 1 D was observed when comparing the KR-1WⓇ to the manual keratometer.         국내에서 판매되는 음료 유형별 당류 함량 평가

        The purpose of this study was to provide nutritional information for selecting beverages with low sugar contents. The nutritional data, including the sugar contents of 925 beverages, were collected from the nutrition labels through the official websites of manufacturers and analyzed according to the beverage types. The average price and volume of the beverage products were 1,556.6 won and 224.8 mL, respectively. The volume per price was the highest for carbonated beverages at 351.6 mL/1,000 won. The sugar content was high in the order of carbonated beverages (22.6 g), fruit & vegetable beverages (21.0 g), and mixed beverages (19.1 g). The sugar content per 100 mL was high in the order of fruit juice (10.6 g), fruit and vegetable beverages(9.2 g), ginseng and red ginseng beverages (8.5 g), and mixed beverages (8.3 g). The content of the product per 1,000 won was high in the order of carbonated beverages (23.3 g), fruit and vegetable beverages (23.2 g), and mixed beverages (20.0 g). The number of products with energy from a sugar content of 5% or more compared to the energy reference value was significantly higher in the carbonated beverages (52.2%), fruit and vegetable beverages (33.0%), and mixed beverages (26.5%) than other beverages. The sugar energy ratio of beverage products was highest in the carbonated beverages at 88.9%, followed by fruit and vegetable beverages (87.0%), fruit juices (84.3%), and mixed beverages (76.8%). Overall, beverages with high sugar contents per product, volume, and price were carbonated beverages, fruit and vegetable beverages, and mixed beverages.

        데이터 기반 항공기 지상 이동 시간 예측 알고리즘 개발

        Departure Manager (DMAN) is a tool to optimize the departure sequence and to suggestappropriate take-off time and off-block time of each departure aircraft to the air trafficcontrollers. To that end, Variable Taxi Time (VTT), which is time duration of the aircraftfrom the stand to the runway, should be estimated. In this paper, a study for developmentof VTT prediction algorithm based on machine learning techniques is presented. The factorsaffecting aircraft taxi speeds were identified through the analysis of historical traffic data onthe airport surface. The prediction model suggested in this study consists of severalsub-models that reflect different types of surface maneuvers based on the analysis result. The prediction performance of the proposed method was evaluated using the actualoperational data.
