지난 8월 25일 개최된 건협 언론인 초청 간담회에서 이성우 보건국장은 '일차보건의료와 예방시책'이라는 주제를 가지고 우리나라 국민 건강 관리 시스템의 예방시책 방안을 얘기했다. 이 글은 이국장의 발표문을 게재한 것이다.

참깨에서 雄性不稔系統을 이용한 雜種種子 生産體系를 확립하기 위하여 웅성불임계통의 後代檢定을 통한 유전양식 구명과 稔性回復親 계통육성을 위한 재배종의 Heterobeltiosis 검정 및 維持親(N(msms)) 개발에 대한 재배종 유전인자 조성 검정결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 도입된 雄性不稔系統은 그 자매계통(MF)과의 교배후대에서 웅성불임율이 50% 전후로 나타난 것으로 보아 GMS(Genic Male Sterility)형 웅성불임 계통임을 확인하였다. 2. F₂ 분리세대에서 재배종에 대한 Heterobeltiosis 조사결과 수원128호와 안산깨를 부본으로 한 조합에서 높게 나타나 GMS 체제에서 稔性回復親(Restorer)으로 유망시 되었다. 3. F₂에서 雄性不稔率은 1∼10% 비율로 나타났으며 재배종에 MS 유전인자 도입을 위한 웅성불임계통을 Backcross 하였다. 4. 장려품종을 母本으로 하고 MF(MSms) 계통을 父本으로 한 51조합의 분리세대에서 雄性不稔率은 10% 미만이었고 F₂ 분리세대에 웅성불임 개체의 출현여부에 따른 모본의 유전자 조성을 확인하기 위한 후대검정 결과 재배종의 遺傳子 造成은 대부분 N(MSMS) 또는 S(MSMS) 계통으로 나타났다. This experiment was conducted to establish basic techniques for CGMS hybrid seed production system in sesame. First, the type of MS lines which were from China was identified as GMS type and, secondly, higher heterosis potential lines among several varieties in Korea were selected by heterobeltiosis test and these lines would be adaptable for MS restorer under the GMS seed production system. Thirdly, genetic composition of parents in 56 combination lines was identified by comparison of MS segregation ratio in the F₂ generation. Average MS segregation ratio ranged to 0∼12%. In view of MS segregation ratio, it was concluded that most of cultivars in Korea have the N(MSMS) or S(MSMS) genetic composition which can't be utilized under the MS seed production system in sesame.

It is a strategic time to prepare for the future when the inter-Korean relationship is in the present lull phase. This study prepared an evaluation system for various inter-Korean exchange and cooperation projects hosted by local governments as the possibility of inter-Korean exchange and cooperation increased due to positive changes in the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Considering the nature of the ongoing inter-Korean relations, this research project has developed the evaluation index for the projects. The core goal of this study is to prepare an indicator system that can be applied consistently to the evaluation of inter-Korean exchange and cooperation projects. For that goal. this evaluation system reflects the internal characteristics of North Korea and the characteristics of inter-Korean relations instead of the general standard of the evaluation system. After developing the evaluation system on the inter-Korean exchange and cooperation projects, a pilot evaluation was conducted.

Preliminary screening test of modulators for multidrug resistance with 400 medicinal plants was carried out by using human multidrug resistance cell line, KB-V1. Among active medicinal plants, the unripe fruits of Evodia officinalis showed a potent modulating activity of MDR. From MeOH extract of this plant, we isolated two indole alkaloids, rutaecarpine (1) and evodiamine (2), by repeated silicagel column chromatography. Rutaecarpine increased the cytotoxicities of vinblastine and taxol against multidrug resistance cells, but evodiamine showed no modulating activity in spite of its potent cytotoxic activities.
