This is report of a case of primary mucocele occurring in the left maxillary sinus, which is supposed to be rare. This 32 years old male entered to the National Police Hospital on Oct. 2-1971 with complaints of a palpable mass in the left cheek. The external examination revealed that a walnut sized, moderately hard, and sound shaped mass which has slight fluctuation, was palpated on the left7 maxillary; region, however no tenderness could be demonstrated. Aspiration of the contents disclosed chocolate colored mucoid fluid, and negative finding were detected, in the nasal cavity by ant rhinoscopy. X-ray study of maxillary sinus showed slight cloudiness over the left maxillary sinus, without definite evidence of the bone destruction. Under suspiction of maxillary cyst exploratory operation(caldwell-luis operation approach) was performed and found that a large mucocele of maxillary sinus which, involving the ant and medical bony wall of the sinus. The whole mucosa was carefully separated and removed and a wide enough counter opening was made. Post operative course was satisfactory and no undesirabe sequela occurred up to date.

A rotordynamic system consists of components that undergo rotational motion. These components include shafts, impellers, thrust collars, and components that support rotation, such as bearings and seals. The motion of this type of rotating system can be modeled as two-dimensional motion and, accordingly, the equation of motion for the rotordynamic system can be represented using complex coordinates. The directional frequency response function (dFRF) can be derived from this complex coordinate system and used as an effective analytical tool for rotating machinery. However, the dFRF is not widely used in the field because most previous studies and commercial software are based on real coordinate systems. The objective of the current study is to introduce the dFRF and show that it can be an effective tool in rotordynamic analysis. In this study, the normal frequency response function (nFRF) and dFRF are compared under rotordynamic analysis for isotropic and unisotropic rotors. Results show that in the nFRF, the magnitude of the response is the same for both positive and negative frequencies, and the response is similar under all modes. Consequently, the severity of the mode cannot be identified. However, in the dFRF, the forward and backward modes are clearly distinguishable in the frequency domain of the isotropic rotor, and the severity of the mode can be identified for the unisotropic rotor.

This study was conducted to investigate the operational status of 12 pig farms that compost using an enclosed composting system and to evaluate the stability of the compost produced. Land scale, pig house scale, animal numbers, reactor capacity, manure input, retention time, maturation scale, maturation days, liquid manure treatment, and scrubber installation were surveyed, and material properties of pig manure were investigated to analyze changes at three points (Input, Output, Maturation). Manure water content, pH, elemental analysis (C, N, S, H, O), total solids, volatile solids, organic matter, and gemination indices were analyzed. Analysis results provided information on how pig farms operate. In addition, as composting progressed, germination indices increased, indicating material stabilization; however, material properties did not change significantly as maturation progressed. The study provides an understanding of the basic operating methods of enclosed composting systems and of changes in pig manure properties.

The multi-function radar of surface ships is configured with four faces, enabling detection and tracking in all directions as a fixed radar system. The radar requires an independent power system configuration for each face, and maximum power consumption accounts for a significant portion of the total power consumption of surface ships. Therefore, to ensure the efficient power operation of surface ships, radar power conversion devices must have a power factor control functionality to reduce harmonics during AC to DC power conversion. This paper proposes an active power factor correction method using a Vienna rectifier to address these problems. This rectifier can control the reactive power by detecting the magnitude, phase, and frequency of three-phase power, thus enabling synchronized control of the three-phase AC voltage and current. Moreover, due to the high-speed switching control provided by power semiconductor devices, such as MOSFET and IGBT, the input current can be controlled to closely resemble a sinusoidal waveform, thereby minimizing low-order harmonics that impact the power system, which would allow the radar system to achieve a high power factor under all load conditions and enable the efficient power operation of surface ships.
