      • 韓國에 있어서 肝吸蟲症 分布에 관한 疫學的 硏究

        Korea, a total number of 19,758 stool specimens were collected from the inhabitants who lived in the basins of main 6 rivers, i.e. the Han River, the Gum River, the Nakdong River, the Mangyong River, the Yongsan River and the Seomjin River. The specimens were examined both by cellophane thick smear method and Stoll's egg counting technique during the period from March 1973 to October 1982. The distribution and infection rates were compared in those of river and non-river sides, and the epidemiological statrs was analysed statistically by the regression equations and catalytic curves with the results obtained from two endemic areas. The results are as follows: 1. High egg positive rates were revealed among the inhabitants in the areas of all above river basins, whereas low egg positive rates were obtained among the inhabitants in the areas apart from the riversides. However, in some areas which are not directly connected with the rivers, relatively high rates of Clonorchis infection were also observed. 2. The infection rates of Clonorchis sinensis by sex age were shown significantly different among the population in the most of these studied areas. The rates for males were significantly higher than that for females, and the rates were increased by the higher age groups up to 40 to 59 years old. However in the high endemic areas such as Kimhae the infection rates of both sexes were almost parallel and practically similar high rates revealed in all age groups for 20 to 60 years old. 3. The mean E.P.G. count of Clonorchis infection in the surveyed areas was found higher in the areas which shown as higher infection rates. The degree of the intensity of Clonorchis infection by E,P.G. counts was evenly distributed to heavy and very heavy infections as well light and moderate infections in the areas showed high infection rates. 4. The intensity of endemicity in all surveyed areas was compared with the regression equations calculated with the cumulative percentages of E.P.G. counts. 5. For the quantitative analysis of epidemiology of clonorchiasis in Kimhae and Pyongtrek areas, special type of simple catalytic model was applied to the age prevalence rates revealed through stool examination for Clonorchis eggs and intradermal test for the detection of positive reactors. 6. It was suggested that the two-stage catalytic was well fitted to the prevalince rates by sex and age in the egg positive cases in Kimhae and Pyongtaek areas, and the calculation lead to the equation y=1.042(e-^(0.003t)-e^(-0.074t), a=0.074〉b=0.003 in Kimhae area, and y=1.412(e^(-0.024t)-e^(-0.041t), a=0.024〈b=0.041 in Pyongtaed area. 7. In the high endemic area such as Kimhae, the tendency of familial aggregation was not recognized by statistical analysis. In this area, the mean E.P.C. obtained from same persons in 1973 were compared and descussed statistically.

      • Design and evaluation of electron beam energy degraders for breast boost irradiation

        <P><B>Background</B></P><P>For breast cancer patients who require electron boost energies between 6 and 9 MeV, an energy degraders (ED) in the 9 MeV beamline was specially designed and manufactured to increase the skin dose of 6 MeV and to reduce the penetration depth of 9 MeV beams.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>We used Monte Carlo (MC) techniques as a guide in the design of ED for use with linear accelerators. In order to satisfy percent depth dose (PDD) characteristics and dose profile uniformity in water, the shape and thickness of Lucite® ED in the 9 MeV beamline was iteratively optimized and then manufactured. The ED geometry consists of a truncated cone attached on top of a plane plate, with total central thickness of 1.0 cm. The ED was placed on the lower most scraper of the electron applicator. The PDDs, profiles, and output factors were measured in water to validate the MC-based design.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Skin doses with the EDs increased by 8–9 %, compared to those of the 9 MeV beam. The outputs with the EDs were 0.882 and 0.972 for 10 × 10 and 15 × 15 cm<SUP>2</SUP> cones, respectively, as compared to that of a conventional 9 MeV beam for a 10 × 10 cm<SUP>2</SUP> cone. The X-ray contamination remained less than 1.5 %. In-vivo measurements were also performed for three breast boost patients and showed close agreement with expected values.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>The optimally designed ED in the 9 MeV beamline provides breast conserving patients with a new energy option of 7 MeV for boost of the shallow tumor bed. It would be an alternative to bolus and thus eliminate inconvenience and concern about the daily variation of bolus setup.</P>

      • 신장수여자의 수술경과시간에 따른 자기존경감, 희망감, 염려 및 스트레스원의 차이

        This study attempted to examine the differences of self - esteem, hopes, concerns and total stress scores of 110 kidney recipients in before(N=32) and fellowing kidney transplantation [1 to 6 months(N=29), 6 to 12 months(N=23), 12 to 36 months(N=26)] and utilizing severity rating scale of 44 potential stressors on a 5-point scale of 110 kidney recipients in before(N=32) and following kidney transplantation operation [1 to 6 months(N=29), 6 to 12 months(N=23), 12 to 24 months(N=15) and 24 to 36 months(N=11)]. On scores of hopes and total stress, pretransplant group exhibited significantly higher scores than three posttransplant recipient groups. But, it was found that there was no significant differences among four transplant kidney recipient groups on the scores of self - esteem and concerns. In the pretransplant group, craving for foods was identified as the most stressful event, on the contrary, changes in friends was identified as the lowest stressful events. In the 1 to 6 months posttransplant group, side effect of medications was identified as the most stressful event, however, loss of contact with dialysis patients was identified as the lowest stressful event. In the 6 to 12 months posttransplant group, cost of medication, changes in body appearance were identified as the most stressful event, on the other hand, managing of medications at home was identified as the lowest stressful event. In the 12 to 24 months posttransplant group, cost of medication and insurance coverage were identified as the most stressful event, but possibility of dying and competence of nursing staff were identified as the lowest stressful event. In the 24 to 36 months posttransplant group, changes of body appearance was identified as the most stressful event, on the contrary, possibility of infection was identified as the lowest stressful event. Insurance coverage was a continuing concern throughout posttransplant period.

      • Mouse의 심폐이식에서 IL-2 Receptor의 역할에 관한 연구

        Improved graft survival after organ transplantation is relied upon the innumerable studies concerning the immunologic reactions following antigen exposure and the accompanying strategies against rejection response. Cellular immunity is known to act as a major role in organ transplantation. We performed heart-lung transplantation in mice in order to define cellular immune reactions. For that purpose we analysed the functional role of the immune cells by the cellular cytotoxicity and phenotypic reactions by the IL-2 receptor(R) positive immune cells in the spleen as well as in the graft. ·Mean graft survival after the allogenic heart-lung transplantation in mice(BALB/C to CBA) was 8.5±2.5 days. ·Splenocyte cytotoxicity was the highest on the postoperative day 6 and then decreased abruptly to even lower than that of control mouse. ·Immunohistochemical analysis of spleen harvested consecutively during the postoperative period showed that proportion of IL-2R positive lymphocyte was around 20% in white pulp and scarce in red pulp illustrating nonspecific pattern regardless of rejection. ·Quantitative assay of IL-2R positive splenocyte showed the peak level on the postoperative day 6. ·IL-2R analysis of transplanted heart showed that IL-2R positive lymphocyte infiltated the heart progressively from the epicardium toward the endocardium with the maximal cellular infiltrate progressively from the epicardium toward the endocardium with the maximal cellular infiltrate on the postoperative day 4. These results illustrate that cellular cytotoxicity and expression of IL-2R positive cells have the consistent finding in terms of roles and diagnostic aid graft rejection following heart-lung transplantation in mice.

      • CSL(Cross-hole Sonic Logging) 시험 자료를 이용한 현장 타설말뚝 3D 영상화 기법 연구 및 프로그램개발

        The CSL(Cross-hole Sonic Logging) is a method of the integrity test of cast-in-place pile. since it was introduced to domestic applications in early 1990s, it was been widely used at construction sites. Generally, We calculate the ultrasonic velocity by measuring the emission time between Tx-Rx probes moving at the same time while keeping vertical level equal in the tubes at the cast-in-placed pile for evaluating the pile integrity. We detect position, size and existence of weak zone by comparing results which are acquired in each ray-path profile. Vertical position of defect is comparatively correct, but horizontal position and size of defect is inaccurate. We studied 3D imaging techniques for pile integrity test by applying geotomography and Kriging. In this study, we have also developed pc-based software (CSL 3D Imager) for displaying of 3D images.

      • 비만 여성을 대상으로 한 해조류 추출물의 국부처치와 운동 병행을 통한 지방분해 효과의 임상적 검정

        This study was carried out to test the body fat breakdown during topical seaweed extract treatment and in combination with the aerobic exercise. Of 20 female obesity subjects, ten treated a cream types of seaweed extract(control group) and ten treated a placebo cream(placebo group). Topical treatment of each sample was designed for 4 weeks, and treated with 2 times a day about 10ml on the abdomen and the thigh, respectively. All subjects were participated aerobic dance half hour a day and four times a week. After 4 weeks of topical treatment and exercise, they were measured body fat, skinfold thickness, body circumference. Then venous blood samples were taken and analyzed blood cells, serum enzymes, and serum lipids. There were reduction of body weight, % of body fat, antebrachium, brachium, chest, waist, thigh circumference and abdomen thickness between pre and post treatment in both group. Especially, body weight and % of body fat significantly reduced in the subjects treating the seaweed extract than those treating the placebo. There were significant decrement in total cholesterol and LDL whereas increment in HDL and TBIL in the control group, but no significant difference in the placebo group. In conclusion, there were 7.6% of body fat reduction during 4 weeks of aerobic exercise and 21% of body fat reducement in combination of topical seaweed treatment and exercise, respectively. These results suggest that the topical treatment of seaweed extract should be very effective for fat breakdown. Especially, the body fat breakdown maximized in the combination with the topical seaweed extracts treatment and the aerobic exercise.

      • 합천지역 농촌생활용수 암반지하수의 수질과 분포암석과의 관계연구

        As of the end of 2001, even though about 89% of the population throughout the country are blessed with water service, areas of seashore, island and parts of inland are still in difficulties with drinking water. For this reason, the water resources project for stable supply by developing groundwater has been conducted since 1992, under the auspices of Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry. As of 2003, a total of 594 project areas have been completed in the Gyeongsang Province by the KARICO Gyeongnam Branch. Among these, 57 samples in the Hapcheon area developed since 1999, were chosen for chemical analysis of groundwater developed in varieties of rocks. As a result, there appears excessive fluorine in the granite, gneiss and diorite in this area. Correlation analysis between rock type and groundwater chemistry shows that the fluorine has high correlation with Fe and aluminum in diorite, and nitrate nitrogen in the andesite rock, while hardness, total solids and SO4+ have high correlations each other not only in sedimentary rocks but also in all other types of rocks. It has been known that the TDS (fluorine, hardness, total solids, and SO4+) of groundwater increase with depth due to water- rock interaction by increasing the amount of pumping rate at the well. However, in this study, the well depth and groundwater chemistry show little correlation in between. This may be partly due to limited number of samples used in the study with a total of 46 points suitable for drinking water. It may be thought that well distributed sampling points with more samples throughout the whole area should be collected for analysis, so as to increase reliability in the result.

      • 규칙적인 유산소성 운동이 비만아동들의 신체구성 및 호흡순환기능에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to examined the effect of supervised regulary aerobic exercise program with cardiorespiratory function of obese children. The subjects were 16 obese Childrens(elementary school 4∼5 grade), and engaged in regulary aerobic exercise program for 9 weeks(5 days/week, 100 min/day, 60∼70% HRmax) with mountain climbing, basketball and football. The items of cardiorespiratory function measured VEmax, HRmax, RQmax, VCO₂max, VCO₂max, VCO₂max/kg and BFmax after treadmill exercise load. The conclusion of this study was as follows ; 1. In body composition, there were significant decrease(P<0.001) after aerobic exercise for 9 weeks in body weight, percent body mass index 2. In cardiorespiratory function, there were significant increase(P<0.001) after aerobic exercise for 9 weeks in VEmax and VCO₂max by treadmill exercise load. 3. In cardiorespiratory function, there were significant increase(P<0.001) after aerobic exercise for 9 weeks in VO₂mex and RQmax by treadmill exercise load. 4. In cardiorespiratory function, there were significant increase(P<0.001, P< 0.01) after aerobic exercise for 9 weeks in VO₂max/kg and BFmax by treadmill exercise load.

      • 分岐管內 글리세린 수용액의 流動 特性

        본 연구에서는 글리세린 수용액(45%)을 사용하여 2차원 분기관 유로의 정상 층류에서의 분기부의 유동 상태를 알아보기 위하여 레이놀즈 수, 분기 각도, 유량 분배비등이 손실 계수에 미치는 영향을 실험으로 구하고, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 레이놀즈 수 100을 기준으로 하여 100 이하에서 T형과 Y형의 값은 직선적으로 감소하고, 유량 분배비의 영향은 적으며, 100 이상에서는 유량 분배비에 따라 거의 일정한 값, 즉 본관에서는 0.3∼1.3 지관에서는 1.70∼2.45의 수치에 접근한다. 그러나, 분기각의 영향은 레이놀즈 수 100 이하에서는 크지만, 100 이상에서는 매우 적어서 일정한 값, 즉 본관에서 액 0.9, 지관에서 약 1.8의 값을 갖는다. The purpose of this research is to study the characteristics of the dividing flow in the laminar flow region. Using glycerine-water solution(45%) for Newtonian fluid, this research investigates the flow state of the dividing tube in steady laminar flow region of the two dimensional dividing tube by measuring the effect of Reynolds number, dividing angle, and the flow distribution ratio on the loss coefficient. The results of the research is as follows. In T-type and Y-type tube, the loss coefficient of the glycerine-water solution decreases in constant rate when the Reynolds number is below 100. The effect of the flow distribution rate is negligible. But when the Reynolds number is over 100. the loss coefficient as to the flow distribution rate converges to a constant value. In the main tube the value lies in the range of 0.30-1.30. In the lateral tube the value lies in the range of 1.7-2.45. The effect of the dividing angle is considerable when the Reynolds number is below 100. But it is very small and converges to a constant value when the number is over 100: in the main tube approximately 0.9, and 1.8 in the lateral tube.
