        Are There Any Simple Monetary Policy Rules For China's Economy?

        This paper probes various kinds of simple monetary policy rules into Chinas economy based on the New-Keynesian Aggregate Demand Equation to gauge the equilibrium interest rate and the Augment-Expectation Phillips curve to explore the expectation properties of Chinas resident. All the tests reach the same conclusion that there are no any simple monetary policy rules can fit the experiences of Chinas monetary policy. Alternative Phillips curves indicate that the empirical desirable trade-off between the faster economic growth and the lower inflation may only be achieved with the coordination of monetary and fiscal policies, as well as the discreet and flexible monetary policies, not the simple monetary policy rules.

        Ginseng berry polysaccharides on inflammation-associated colon cancer: inhibiting T-cell differentiation, promoting apoptosis, and enhancing the effects of 5-fluorouracil

        Background: Ginseng is a commonly used herbal medicine in treating various medical conditions. Chronic gut inflammation is a recognized factor for the development of colorectal cancer (CRC). In this project, Asian ginseng berry polysaccharide preparations were used to assess their effects on CRC and related immune regulation mechanisms. Methods: Ginseng berry polysaccharide extract (GBPE) and purified ginseng berry polysaccharide portion (GBPP) were used to evaluate their activities on human HCT-116 and HT-29 CRC cell proliferation. Interleukin-8 secretion analysis was performed on HT-29 cells. Naive CD4 cell isolation and T-helper cell differentiation were performed and determined using flow cytometry for Th1 and Treg in addition to cell cycle and apoptotic investigation. Results: GBPE and GBPP significantly inhibited interleukin-8 secretion and cancer cell proliferation, inhibited CD4<sup>+</sup>IFN-γ<sup>+</sup> cell (Th1) differentiation, and decreased CD4<sup>+</sup>FoxP3<sup>+</sup> cell (Treg) differentiation. Compared to the GBPE, GBPP showed more potent antiinflammatory activities on the malignant cells. This is consistent with the observation that GBPP can also inhibit Th1-cell differentiation better, suggesting that it has an important role in antiinflammation, whereas Treg cells hinder the body's immune response against malignancies. Supported by cell cycle and apoptosis data, GBPE and GBPP, at various degrees, remarkably enhanced the anticancer activities of 5-fluorouracil. Conclusion: Data from this project suggested that Asian ginseng berry potentially has clinical utility in managing enteric inflammation and suppressing CRC through immunomodulation mechanisms.

        Optimal Consensus Control for Heterogeneous Nonlinear Multiagent Systems with Partially Unknown Dynamics

        This paper focuses on an optimal consensus problem for heterogeneous discrete-time nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) with partially unknown dynamics. For those systems, it is difficult to obtain the solution of the coupled Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equations, which is necessary to address the optimal consensus problem. A new hierarchical and distributed optimal control strategy is developed to derive the near solution of the HJB equations. Its control structure consists of the model reference adaptive control (MRAC) layer and distributed control layer. In the MRAC layer, the adaptive feedforward and feedback controller is designed to make the states of followers converge to ones of their corresponding reference models. Then, the optimal consensus problem of heterogeneous MASs is formulated as that of homogeneous MASs. In the distributed control layer, an online distributed value iteration algorithm is proposed to approximate the optimal solution of the HJB equations for reference models. Thereby, the optimal consensus is also achieved for the heterogeneous MASs. The two convergence properties are analyzed to demonstrate the MRAC performance and the optimal consensus, respectively. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

      • Stability Analysis and Evaluation of ESR for Hysteresis Controlled Buck Converter

        Buck converter using hysteresis controller has been widely used for power supply in industry applications owing to its instantaneous load transient. However the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of output capacitor has a significant effect for the stability performance. In this paper, the critical value of ESR is analyzed and calculated in the hysteresis controlled buck converter. Finally, simulation results indicate that the larger output capacitor ESR is necessary to make sure the converter operate normally, otherwise, the converter will operate abnormally.

        Distributed Secondary Control of AC Microgrid and its Frequency Domain Analysis Considering Time Delay

        In this paper, distributed secondary control of AC microgrid (MG) is studied and the infuence of communication delay on its control performance is analyzed and verifed. Firstly, a secondary control strategy for the MG is designed to achieve frequency recovery and proportional active power dispatch. Secondly, the stability of the MG system is analyzed in the frequency domain and a rigorous formula is derived to calculate the delay margin for the stability of the distributed secondary control with communication delays. The theoretical calculation results of the stability margin are approximately consistent with the simulation results, with an error of only 1.27%. The efects of the algorithm gains, communication topology, and connection weights on the delay margin are discussed based on the derived formula. The results demonstrate that the algorithm gain is inversely proportional to the delay margin. Changes in the communication topology and connection weights lead to changes in the maximum eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix L, which in turn afects the delay margin. Moreover, the infuence of time-varying delays is considered. The system can tolerate greater time-varying delays than fxed delays. Simulation and experimental results validate the efectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

      • A Decupled PQ Control strategy of Voltage - Controlled Inverters

        This paper deals with problems caused by high distributed generation penetration and proposes a simple and precise PQ control strategy for voltage-controlled inverters in micro grids. The widely-used current-controlled inverters cannot provide voltage support for micro grids and have to develop seamless transfer strategy between gird connected mode and islanded mode. A voltage-controlled inverter is raised in the paper due to the problems. The new inverter can be regarded as a voltage source cascaded with controllable output impedance. By adopting a new phase-locked loop, the output voltage amplitude and frequency are well decoupled. Thus output active and reactive powers are decoupled satisfactory. The output response is fast and precise. The idea is verified by simulation and experiment results.

        Genome-wide locus-specific DNA methylation repatterning may facilitate rapid evolution of mercury resistance in rice

        Background: Albeit a relatively stable epigenetic modification, DNA methylation in plants can be repatterned and play important roles in response to biotic and abiotic stresses. However, whether DNA methylation dynamics may contribute to cope with mercury (Hg) stress in plants remains to be fully investigated. Objective: To probe the potential roles of DNA methylation dynamics in coping with Hg stress in rice. Methods: Whole-genome bisulfite sequencing was used to profile the DNA methylation patterns of a rice Hg-resistant line (RHg) selected from a heterozygous mutant of the DNA methyltransferase 1 gene (OsMET1+/-), together with its Hg-sensitive wild-type plants of cv. Nipponbare (Nip) under both normal and Hg stress conditions. Results: Genome-wide locus-specific differential methylation regions (DMRs) were detected between RHg and Nip under normal condition, the predominant DMR patterns were CG hypo-DMRs, CHG hypo-DMRs and CHH hyper-DMRs. In both lines, more hyper- than hypo-DMRs were detected at all three sequence contexts (CG, CHG and CHH) under Hg stress relative to normal condition. Comparison of DNA methylation changes in the two lines under Hg stress indicates that RHg had a more dynamic methylome than the control (Nip). Original DMRs in RHg trended to transform to opposite status (from hyper- to hypo- or vice versa) under Hg stress condition. Gene ontology analysis revealed that Hg-resistance-related DMGs were enriched in diverse biological processes. Conclusions: Our results suggest genome-wide locus-specific DNA methylation repatterning can facilitate rapid acquisition of Hg resistance in rice.

        A detection method of Escherichia coli O157:H7 based on immunomagnetic separation and aptamers-gold nanoparticle probe quenching Rhodamine B’s fluorescence

        This research aimed to detect Escherichia coli O157:H7 in milk based on immunomagnetic probe separation technology and quenching effect of gold nanoparticles to Rhodamine B. Streptavidin-modified magnetic beads (MBs) were combined with biotin-modified antibodies to capture E. coli O157:H7 specifically. Gold nanoparticle (AuNPs) was incubated with sulfhydryl-modified aptamers (SH-Aptamers) to obtain the Aptamers-AuNPs probe. After magnetic beads captured target bacteria and formed a sandwich structure with the gold nanoprobe, Rhodamine B was added into complex to obtain fluorescent signal changes. Our results demonstrated that the established method could detect E. coli O157:H7 in the range of 101–107 CFU/mL, and the limit of detection (LOD) was 0.35 CFU/mL in TBST buffer (pH = 7.4). In milk simulation samples, the LOD of this method was 1.03 CFU/mL. Our research provides a promising approach on the detection of E. coli O157:H7.

      • Task Scheduling System Based on Consensus Algorithm in P2P Network

        Centralized networks can perform task scheduling readily because they can easily collect system information and manage tasks. However, due to the existence of the central nodes, centralized networks have low fault tolerance. On the contrary, peer-to-peer(P2P) networks have higher fault tolerance, but they do not have global information without central nodes. Therefore, how to schedule tasks in a P2P network has become a problem and a challenge. This paper proposes a consensus algorithm to maintain task information in the P2P network and implements a scheduling system to solve this problem. At the same time, it combines the ease of container deployment and migration to improve the efficiency of task scheduling. Besides, the heartbeat mechanism between nodes achieves fault tolerance for nodes. The system can be used in network environments without central nodes, such as mobile Ad hoc networks.
