We synthesized new organoselenium compounds that allylseleno moiety at 3-position of pyridazine nucleus was introduced to yield allylselenium compounds and the 6-position was substituted with nitrogen (N) atom containing alkyl moieties. Imines 3a~d were synthesized from the 3-allylseleno-6-chloropyridazine by refluxing in n-butanol for 18〜36h with catalytic tetra-w-butyl ammonium bromide (TBAB) through alkylimination. We studied structures of synthetic organoselenium compounds and proposed the alkylimination through tautomerization and alkylamination. The target compounds 3a~d were characterized by solution NMR spectroscopy (^1 H, ^13 C).

치과의사는 자폐인의 치료시 자폐증의 정도와 의학적 관리가 필수적인 질환, 내과적 병력 , 또는 현재 환자가 복용하고 있는 약물등을 고려하여 이에 따라 적절한 행동조절 방법을 선택하여야 한다. 행동조절 방법의 선택시 술자가 선호하는 방법을 우선 하기보다는 환자의 상태와 치과치료시 환자와 보호자가 받는 스트레스를 최우선으로 고려하는 것이 필요하다. 환자의 현증에 대한 적절한 행동 조절하의 치과치료도 중요하지만, 그보다 더 중요한 것은 환자가 거부감을 느끼지 않고 치과에 내원할수 있도록 훈련시키는 것과 지속적인 구강위생 관리이므로 보호자를 위한 구강위생 관리교육 및 주기적인 내원에 의한 관리가 필요하다고 생각된다. The autism is a complex disorder, characterized language impairment, perceptual-motor difficulties, and social disturbance. The autistic children have hyperactivity, lack of cooperation, inappropriate patient/dentist interaction, so they require pro fessionally recognized behavioral management technique during dental treatment such as behavior modification, pharmacological agents, and general anesthesia. A behavior management technique can be chosen by factors such as the severity of autism possible accompanying disabilities, degree of cooperation, oral and general conditions of children. A non-pharmacological behavior modification may be selected for the autistic children who are able to communicate with dentist with mild dental caries, without compromised medical history. In case of excessively hyperactive, destructive, antisocial, and/or severe communicative disorder, a sedation technic with chloral hydrate, antisocial, and/or severe communicative disorder, a sedation technic with chloral hydrate, hydroxyzine, midazolam or nitrous oxide gas might to be performed. General anesthesia is preferred for severe communicative and/or behavioral disorder, elder age, excessive dental care need, and living a remote area.
카드뮴 독성에 대한 Metallothionein의 보호 작용

The protective roles of metallothionein(MT) exogeneously adiministered have been examined in the liver and kidney of cadmium(Cd) treated mouse, In Cd treated mouse, cellular damages such as nuclear pyknosis and necrosis were observed, Increased intercellular spaces and obscure liver lobules were often observed. The extent of damages of liver cells in Cd-MT treated group decreased compared with Cd treated group. And also, MT reactivity of this group was prominent in nuclei and cytoplasm. The enzyme activities of ALT and AST showed less alterations in CchMT treated group. In the case of kidney, protective effects of MT against Cd toxicity were comparatively not clear, In conclusion, these experimental results suggest that metallothionein reduces cellular damages resulted from cadmium in the liver of mouse.

This study was performed to develop a rapid test kit for pathogenic Staphylococcus in various samples. The rapid detection kit has been fabricated based on nitrocellulose lateral-flow strip. Colloidal gold and Staphylococcus antibodies were used as a tag and a receptor, respectively. Manually spotted Staphylococcus antibody and anti-mouse antibody on the surface of nitrocellulose membrane were used as test and control lines, espectively. Feasibility of the rapid kit to detect Staphylococcus aureus in samples were evaluated. The intensity of the color of the tes line started to increase with the samples in which higher concentration of the cells were contained. The sensitivity of the sensor was 106 cfu/mL Staphylococcus spiked in PBS. Also, the rapid test kit could detect 105 cfu/mL of Staphylococcus in chicken meat extract.

The natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 1(Nramp1) has been proposed to directly regulate bactericidal or bacteriostatic activity of the macrophage toward pathogens or participate in macrophage activation that lead to microbial elimination in the host. The relationship between Nramp1 and nitric oxide(NO) as an antimicrobial factor has not been precisely defined to date. To devise an in vitro assay for Nramp1 function, this study introduced a wild type Nramp1^(G169) cDKA transfected RAW264.7 macrophages(A8) which bear a homozygous mutant Nramp1^(D169) allele and are permissive to replication of specific intracellular parasites. RAW264.7 and A8 macrophages did not produce NO, but vitamin D_(3)-activated-Mycobacterium marinum-infected RAW264.7 and A8 macrophages pretreated with vitamin D_(3) leaded to the increase of NO production and growth inhibition of M. marinum. Inhibition of NO production by a NO inhibitor, L-NAME, abolished the above effects. The mRNA expression of iNOS in infected macrophages with costimulated vitamin D_(3) was increased. IFN-γ activated macrophages also showed the same results with vitamin D_(3) activated macrophages. These results suggest that bactericidal or bacteriostatic activity in RAW264.7 and A8 macrophages correlated with the production of NO, although NO might not be the only factor responsible for controlling M. marinum infection. The Nrampl gene is considered to be a cofactor in the controlling the replication of M. marinum infection.

The incidence of coexisting hyperparathyroidism and empty sella syndrome is rare and the etiology and incidence of their coexistence is not known. The association of hyperparathyroidism and the empty sella syndrome may be related to multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) syndrome due to a genetic disorder. We experienced a rare case of hyperparathyroidism presenting as acute pancreatitis combined with empty sella. We report here a 37-year old female who manifested epigastric pain because of acute pancreatitis. She had hypercalcemia due to parathyroid adenoma. A pituitary gland was not visible in the sella turcica on MRI scans. On genetic analysis, she did not show a mutation of the MENIN gene. Empty sella is thought to be a coincidental finding with hyperparathyroidism.
Altered PLCβ-1 expression in the gerbil hippocampal complex following spontaneous seizure

Although the phospholipase C (PLC)β-1 isoform is associated with spontaneous seizure and distinctively expressed in the telencephalon, the distribution of PLCβ-1 expression in the epileptic gerbil hippocampus remains controversial. Therefore, we determined whether PLCβ-1 is associated with spontaneous seizure in an animal model of genetic epilepsy. In the present study, PLCβ-1 immunoreactivity was down-regulated in seizure-sensitive (SS) gerbils more than in seizure-resistant (SR) gerbils. The expression of PLCβ-1 within calretinin (CR)-positive neurons was rarely detected within the dentate hilar region of SS gerbils. PLCβ-1 immunoreactivity in the hippocampus was significantly elevated as compared to that in pre-seizure SS gerbil 3 h post-ictal. These findings suggest that alterations in PLCβ-1 immunoreactivity in the SS gerbil hippocampus may be closely related to the epileptic state of the gerbil brain and transiently elevated PLCβ-1 protein levels following seizure episodes. Such alterations may be compensatory responses in the SS gerbil hippocampus. [BMB reports 2011; 44(9) : 566-571]
Multi-user Precoding-aided Spatial Modulation with Block Diagonalizaion

In this paper, we introduce a multi-user precoding-aided spatial modulation based on block diagonalization (BD). In contrast to conventional algorithms, our proposed technique eliminates the inter-user interference (IUI) though applying BD. As such, the proposed system avoids the inversion of either large-size matrices or a set of matrices, as compared to conventional techniques. In terms of system performance, the proposed technique can be used in under-determined and determined systems, with considerable improvements of the system performance in case of the under-determined systems due to the increased diversity gain.
