      • Layer-controlled thinning of black phosphorus by an Ar ion beam

        <▼1><P>BP thinning was carried out using a monoenergetic Ar<SUP>+</SUP> ion beam and the BP could be thinned without damaging the surface.</P></▼1><▼2><P>Black phosphorus (BP) is one of the most interesting two-dimensional (2D) layered materials due to its unique properties, including a band gap energy change from 0.3 eV (bulk) to 2.0 eV (monolayer) depending on the number of BP layers, for application in nanoelectronic devices. In general, 2D layered materials including BP have limitations in terms of synthesis due to the process factors such as time, temperature, <I>etc.</I>, and thus, a thinning technique from the bulk material to a 2D material needs to be used while controlling the removed layer thickness. In this study, layer-controlled thinning of BP was performed by using a controlled Ar<SUP>+</SUP> ion beam method and the BP thinning characteristics were investigated. By using the near monoenergetic ion energy in the range of 45–48 eV, BP could be thinned with the thinning rate of ∼0.55 nm min<SUP>−1</SUP> down to bilayer BP without increasing the surface roughness and without changing the chemical binding states. The BP oxide on the pristine BP could also be successfully removed using the same Ar<SUP>+</SUP> ion beam. 2D BP field-effect transistors (FETs) fabricated with the thinned bilayer–10-layer BPs exhibited electrical characteristics similar to those of pristine BP FETs suggesting no electrical damage on the BP layers thinned by the controlled monoenergetic Ar<SUP>+</SUP> ion beam.</P></▼2>

        The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for making, operating and managing good golf practice place. So, we surveyed selection variable by questionnaire and analyzed selection variable by SPSS Windows Version 11. This study will give us qualitative evelopment of golf practice environment. This paper concludes with following points. First, Main customers were prospective golfer and people(management, professionalist, housewife) who have time and money to spare in their fories, and they usually came there with their friend or colleague. Facilities and practice environment to improve golf ability were main factors when they select golf practice place. Main purpose of going to golf practice place was to develop their golf ability. Second, The survey on the overall selection factor reveals that there are a significant difference according to gender, educational level, golf career, using time of driving range, using frequency of driving range, practicing time, using frequency of golf course, using purpose of driving range. And female in leisure factor, finishing high school in leisure factor, under six month(golf career) in leisure factor, (using time) pm 4-7 in popularly factor, (using frequency) more than sixth a week in ability improvement factor and less than once a week in leisure factor, (practicing time) over 3 hour in ability improvement factor, (using frequency of golf course) more than sixth a month in ability improvement factor and one or second a month in leisure factor, (using purpose) control fatness in popularly factor appear high selection reason value. Third, we measured selection reason value and user satisfaction value, the results can be summarized as follows. In selection reason, it appeared that help to improve golf ability and to practice golf variable was the largest value and help to train approach shot variable was the second value, and moderate prices in charge was the lowest value. Through this point, we can guess that pitching course user think that pitching course has positive thing to improve golf ability and to practice golf. Through the whole value, we can guess that something to improve golf ability is the best one among the selection reasons of pitching practicing course rather than charge, distance, friendship, and overall user satisfaction value appeared positive value as 3.67.

        동측에 발생한 대퇴골 경부 및 간부 골절의 치료

        목적: 동측의 대퇴골 경부 골절과 간부 골절이 동반된 경우에서 수술적 치료에 대해 본원에서 실시한 수술 방법들의 결과를 분석하였다. 대상 및 방법: 수술 후 1년 이상 추시 관찰이 가능하였던 11례를 대상으로 하였으며 경부 골절은 Garden 제 1형이 3례, 제 2형이 6례, 제 3형이 1례, 제 4형이 1례였다. 간부 골절은 중간부가 7례, 원위부가 4례였다. 추시 기간은 최소 1년 이상으로 평균 33개월이었고 11례 전부가 남자였으며 나이는 22세에서 54세로 평균 38세였다. 각 수술 방법에 따른 수술시간을 측정하였으며 방사선학으로 골유합의 시기, 부정유합, 불유합 등을 평가하였고 임상적으로는 골절부의 동통 및 관절 운동장애를 평가하였다. 결과: 치료 방법으로는 경부는 다발성 피고정술이 8례, 활강압방 고 나사못고정술이 1례였으며 간부의 경우는 중간부는 역행적 Ender정 고정술이 4례 , 금속판 고정술이 1례, 재건상 골수강내 고정술이 2례, 역행적 금속정 고정술이 1례였고, 원위부는 금속판 고정술이 1례, 역행적 교합성 금속정 고정술이 3례였다. 평균 수술시간은 재건상 골수강내 골종술이 180분, 다발성 핀고정술 및 금속판 고정술이 220분, 다발성 핀고정술 및 역행적 골수강내 고정술이 200분이었다. 골유합 기간은 간부 골절의 경우 평균 5개월이었다. 경부 골절에 대한 합병증으로는 간부 골절에 대해서 Ender정 고정술을 한 1례와 간부에 금속판 고정술을 한 후 지연진단되어 경부에 다발성 핀고정술을 한 1례에서 대퇴골두에 무혈성 괴사증이 병발하였으며 재건상 골수강내 금속정 삽입술을 한 1례에서 수술시 경부 골절의 정복소실이 있었으며 간부 골절에 대한 합병증으로는 역행적 금속정 고정술을 한 2례 (Ender정 1례와 교합성 금속정 1례)에서 불유합이 생겨서 금속판 고정술 및 자가골이식술로 대치하였다. 그리고 Ender정 고정술을 한 1례에서 지속적인 슬관절 주위 동통이 있었다. 결론: 대퇴골 경부 골절과 동측의 간부 골절이 동반된 경우의 수술적 치료에서 재건상 골수강내 금속 고정술은 기술적으로 어려움이 많아서 경부와 간부의 치료를 각각 하는 것이 기술적으로 쉬웠다. 수술시는 경부 골절의 수술을 먼저 하여도 고정에 어려움이 없었으며 간부 골절은 분쇄 골절이 많기 때문에 견고한 내고정이 필요하였다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analysis the result of operative treatment in ipsilateral femur neck and shaft fracuture. Material and Methods: Eleven cases of ipsilateral femur neck and shaft fractures were operated and followed more than 1 year. There were 11 men and mean age at index operation was 38 years (range 22~54). In neck fracture there were 3 of type Ⅰ, 6 of type Ⅱ, and 1 of typeⅢ according to Garden classification, shaft fractures were located an middle 1/3 (7 cases), at distal 1/3 (4 cases). We evaluated the operation time, union time, nonunion, malunion, and clinical evaluation with pain and joint stiffness. Result: In neck fractures treatment methods were 8 of multiple pinning, 2 of reconstruction nail and 1 of CHS, in shaft fractures 2 of DCP, 7 of retrograde nailing (3 Ender nail, 4 interlocking nail). The mean operation time was 180 minutes in reconstruction nail, 220 minutes in multiple pinning and DCP and 200 minutes in multiple pinning and retrograde nailing. The mean time for shaft union was 5 months. The complications were 1 case of neck reduction loss during operation in reconstruction nailing group, 1 of persistant pain around knee in Ender nailing group. Conclusion: The author think that reconstruction nail fixation is technically difficult, thus neck and shaft fracture be fixed individually. Neck fracture can be fixed first without difficulty and shaft fractures should be fixed rigidly due to comminution.

        외나로도 주변해역 퇴적물의 지화학적 특성과 저서 생물상

        In order to evaluate the relationship between geochemical characteristics and benthic facies of the sediments from the Oenaro Island where red tide proliferation is first observed every year including this year, surface and short multiple core sediment samples were analyzed in terms of geochemical and benthic facies variation. The contents of organic carbon, carbonate, and sulfide gas were relatively low. The variation in C/N ratios, which indicate nature of organic carbon, suggested that the organic carbon recorded in the study area is composed of mixtures of marine and terrigenous organic matters. The concentration of minor elements found at the surface and multiple core sediment samples were also low as well as the enrichment factors(Ef) for the seven heavy metals indicated that the sediment of this area is not polluted significantly. The macrobenthic faunal community comprised 61 species, and their mean density was 708 ind./m2. Polychaete worms were major taxa of this benthic community. A crustacean amphipod, Melita sp. was the most abundant species accounted for 20.7% of total abundance, and the small polychaetes such as Heteromastus filiformis, Paralacydonia poradoxa, Magelona japonica, and Sigambra tentaculata were the next dominant species. The macrobenthos around the Oenaro Island were more diverse and abundant than that in Gamak Bay. The benthic communities in the study area sustained somewhat different species composition based on the cluster analysis and the MDS ordination. The benthic community health condition at three stations seemed to be unbalanced, and slightly polluted based on the biological index such as BPI and BC. There was no clear relationship between the geochemistry characteristic and the benthic faunal facies attributed by the micro-algal blooms in this coastal area.

        This study is concerned about seismic performance evaluation of seismically isolated structure in transfer story, First, a principle of aseismatic structure and seismically isolated structure is presented. There is a transfer story to transfer a load of superstructure to an understructure in case of High-rise complex building for residence and commerce, This study is composed of two parts, Firstly, by comparing the dynamic characteristics of seismically isolated structure and non-seismically isolated structure such as story displacement, strain, period, and base story shear, the effects of isolation system are presented, and lastly, the methods to design structural system more effectively by using isolation system are suggested.

        We have encountered a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating Escherichia coli sepsis in a 47-years-old male. He was successfully treated with antibiotics, anticoagulants, and vasodilator. To our knowledge, this is the first report on symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating E. coli sepsis in Korea.

      • Genetic diversity analysis of Agaricus bisporus strains by Inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) and SSR–PCR

        Twenty Inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) and 30 SSR primers were used to assess genetic diversity of 64 Agaricus strains including 45 A. bisporus strains and other 19 Agaricus spp. Of them, four ISSR primers, (GA)₈T, (AG)₈YC, (GA)₈C and (CTC)₆and seven SSR markers produced PCR polymorphic bands between the Agaricus species or within A. bisporus strains. PCR polymorphic bands were inputted for UPGMA cluster analysis. Forty five strains of A. bisporus are genetically clustered into 6 groups, showing coefficient similarity from 0.75 to 0.9 among them. The varieties, Saea, saedo, Saejeong and Saeyeon that have recently been developed in Korea were involved in the same group with closely genetic relationship of coefficient similarity over 0.96, whereas, other strains were genetically related to A. bisporus strains that were introduced from USA, Eroupe and Chinese.

        Promises and Risks of Unsaturated Volatile Organic Compounds

        Limonene, pinene, and isoprene are abundant and ubiquitous volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which are found in various natural products and also produced from various manufacture processes. Limonene and pinene are major components of food additives and household products for enrichment of good flavors and elimination of malodors, and isoprene is a basal motif of monoterpenes such as limonene and pinene. They have shown many beneficial effects such as chemopreventive, chemotherapeutic, and antioxidant activities. Upon certain conditions, however, adverse effects of these compounds on human health have also been reported. Although they do not seem to have acute and severe toxicity to human, they can easily generate secondary organic aerosols (SOAs) when they react with oxygen and/or ozone, which have shown certain toxic effects on experimental animal models as well as on humans. Numerous household and scented products containing limonene, pinene, and isoprene are widely used in these days. However, biological consequences upon exposure to these products are largely unknown. The aim of this review is to summarize and analyze the current understanding on the biological effects of VOCs, in particular limonene, pinene, and isoprene, as well as their SOAs.
