본 논문에서는 웨어러블 컴퓨터의 핵심요소인 신축회로보드 구현에 있어서 인장률 및 내구성을 획기적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 새로운 신축 상호연결(stretchable interconnect)기술을 제안한다. 기존 방법은 신축특성이 없는 금속전극물질로 된 회로패턴을 구불구불한 형상의 기하학적 구조로 설계하여 신축구조를 구현하지만, 낮은 신축 내구성때문에 상용화에 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 전기전도성 섬유사를 이용하여 비교적 제작이 간단하면서 높은 반복 인장 내구성능을 가지는 신축 상호연결 기술을 제안한다. 제작된 시편을대상으로 반복 인장에 따른 피로 실험을 한 결과, 본래 길이의 2.3배에 해당하는 130% 인장을 2만회이상 반복 수행해도 단선이 없는 우수한 내구성과 전기전도도의 안정성을 가지는 것을 확인하였다. In this paper, we propose a new stretchable interconnect method that can be improved dramatically the tensile rate and durability of the circuit board for wearable computer. Previously reported method is to implement the stretchable structure, by designing the twisted geometry shape which is using metallic electrode materials without the stretch property, but it is not easily commercialized because of the low tensile durability. To solve this problem, we propose a relatively simple method for rapid fabrication of stretchable interconnect technology with highly repetition tensile durability using conductive yarns. As the result of experiments was conducted in order to evaluate the repetition tensile durability, We verify that the proposed method has excellent the stability of the electrical conductivity and robustness, which is in capable of withstanding repeated stretch-and-release cycles of over 20,000 at 130% strain, which is 2.3 times of its original length.

Characteristics of stroke cases, acute stroke care, and outcomes after stroke differ according to geographical and cultural background. To provide epidemiological and clinical data on stroke care in South Korea, we analyzed a prospective multicenter clinical stroke registry, the Clinical Research Center for Stroke-Fifth Division (CRCS-5). Patients were 58% male with a mean age of 67.2±12.9 years and median National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score of 3 [1-8] points. Over the 6 years of operation, temporal trends were documented including increasing utilization of recanalization treatment with shorter onset-to-arrival delay and decremental length of stay. Acute recanalization treatment was performed in 12.7% of cases with endovascular treatment utilized in 36%, but the proportion of endovascular recanalization varied across centers. Door-to-IV alteplase delay had a median of 45 [33-68] min. The rate of symptomatic hemorrhagic transformation (HT) was 7%, and that of any HT was 27% among recanalization-treated cases. Early neurological deterioration occurred in 15% of cases and were associated with longer length of stay and poorer 3-month outcomes. The proportion of mRS scores of 0-1 was 42% on discharge, 50% at 3 months, and 55% at 1 year after the index stroke. Recurrent stroke up to 1 year occurred in 4.5% of patients; the rate was higher among older individuals and those with neurologically severe deficits. The above findings will be compared with other Asian and US registry data in this article.

2009년 말, 시작된 '아이폰 쇼크'는 아직도 진행중이다. 아이폰은 기존 무선단말기에서는 상상할 수 없을 정도의 다양한 콘텐츠와 소프트웨어를 손안의 휴대폰에서 사용 가능하다. 전 세계로 창이 열린 앱스토어에는 사용자들을 현혹시킬 만한 게임, 멀티미디어 동영상, 프로그램들이 날마다 넘쳐난다. 이메일, Wi-Fi 등 업무효율을 극대화 할 수 있는 솔루션도 모두 지원된다. 아이폰이 제공하는 혁신적인 기능과 앱스토어 앞에 그동안 초고속인터넷 강국이란 명성과 폐쇄적인 무선망 정책을 구사해왔던 통신서비스 업계는 모두 큰 충격에 빠져 있는 듯 하다. 본 고에서는 늦었지만 이제부터라도 이동환경에서의 앱스토어의 기술 전반을 살펴보고, 우리 고유의 무선인터넷 생태계 복원을 위해 개방형 모바일 앱스토어를 위한 서비스 프레임워크를 제안하고자 한다.

Human activity recognition (HAR) is a technology that aims to offer an automatic recognition of what a person is doing with respect to their body motion and gestures. HAR is essential in many applications such as human-computer interaction, health care, rehabilitation engineering, video surveillance, and artificial intelligence. Smartphones are becoming the most popular platform for activity recognition owing to their convenience, portability, and ease of use. The noticeable change in smartphone-based activity recognition is the adoption of a deep learning algorithm leading to successful learning outcomes. In this article, we analyze the technology trend of activity recognition using smartphone sensors, challenging issues for future development, and a strategy change in terms of the generation of a activity recognition dataset.
FPGA Implementation of ATM Adaptation Layer for HDTV TS Communication over ATM Network

For the reduction of the jitter originated from the cell losses in ATM network when CBR traffic is transferred on AAL5, we propose that the receiver maintain a timer whose expiration time is proportional to the cell time of the source traffic plus the standard deviation of the 1-point CDV of the received ATM cells. Moreover, to enhance the granularity of the error or loss detection mechanism in the AAL5 PDUs, we also modified the AAL5 PDU trailer fields so that each cell comprising the AAL5 PDU has a sequence number field. The simulation results show that the peak-to-peak PDV of the AAL5 PDU by the proposed method is less than 69.4% to that by AAL5. Moreover, the AAL5 user - HDTV decoder - receives the same or more error-free transport packets in the proposed algorithm than those in the ITU-T AAL5 for the same network simulation environment. The proposed AAL is implemented in FPGA with operation frequency of 10MHz. The implemented system fully supports the HDTV system interface which operates at 2.42365MHz.

Background and Purpose Blood pressure (BP) control is strongly recommended, but BP control rate has not been well studied in patients with stroke. We evaluated the BP control rate with fimasartan-based antihypertensive therapy initiated in patients with recent cerebral ischemia. Methods This multicenter, prospective, single-arm trial involved 27 centers in South Korea. Key inclusion criteria were recent cerebral ischemia within 90 days and high BP [systolic blood pressure (SBP) >140 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) >90 mm Hg]. BP lowering was initiated with fimasartan. BP management during the follow-up was at the discretion of the responsible investigators. The primary endpoint was the target BP goal achievement rate (<140/90 mm Hg) at 24 weeks. Key secondary endpoints included achieved BP and BP changes at each visit, and clinical events (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03231293). Results Of 1,035 patients enrolled, 1,026 were included in the safety analysis, and 951 in the efficacy analysis. Their mean age was 64.1 years, 33% were female, the median time interval from onset to enrollment was 10 days, and the baseline SBP and DBP were 162.3±16.0 and 92.2±12.4 mm Hg (mean±SD). During the study period, 55.5% of patients were maintained on fimasartan monotherapy, and 44.5% received antihypertensive therapies other than fimasartan monotherapy at at least one visit. The target BP goal achievement rate at 24-week was 67.3% (48.6% at 4-week and 61.4% at 12-week). The mean BP was 139.0/81.8±18.3/11.7, 133.8/79.2±16.4/11.0, and 132.8/78.5±15.6/10.9 mm Hg at 4-, 12-, and 24-week. The treatment- emergent adverse event rate was 5.4%, including one serious adverse event. Conclusions Fimasartan-based BP lowering achieved the target BP in two-thirds of patients at 24 weeks, and was generally well tolerated.
The Epidemiology of Fracture in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke in Korea

Background: Patients who survive an acute phase of stroke are at risk of falls and fractures afterwards. However, it is largely unknown how frequent fractures occur in the Asian stroke population. Methods: Patients with acute (< 7 days) ischemic stroke who were hospitalized between January 2011 and November 2013 were identified from a prospective multicenter stroke registry in Korea, and were linked to the National Health Insurance Service claim database. The incidences of fractures were investigated during the first 4 years after index stroke. The cumulative incidence functions (CIFs) were estimated by the Gray's test for competing risk data. Fine and Gray model for competing risk data was applied for exploring risk factors of post-stroke fractures. Results: Among a total of 11,522 patients, 1,616 fracture events were identified: 712 spine fractures, 397 hip fractures and 714 other fractures. The CIFs of any fractures were 2.63% at 6 months, 4.43% at 1 year, 8.09% at 2 years and 13.00% at 4 years. Those of spine/hip fractures were 1.11%/0.61%, 1.88%/1.03%, 3.28%/1.86% and 5.79%/3.15%, respectively. Age by a 10- year increment (hazard ratio [HR], 1.23; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.17–1.30), women (HR, 1.74; 95% CI, 1.54–1.97), previous fracture (HR, 1.72; 95% CI, 1.54–1.92) and osteoporosis (HR, 1.44; 95% CI, 1.27–1.63) were independent risk factors of post-stroke fracture. Conclusion: The CIFs of fractures are about 8% at 2 years and 13% at 4 years after acute ischemic stroke in Korea. Older age, women, pre-stroke fracture and osteoporosis raised the risk of post-stroke fractures.
