The purpose of this paper is to provide reference data related to the body weight, food & water consumptions, urinalysis, hematology and serum biochemistry parameters and absolute & relative organ weights obtained from control Sprague-Dawley rats, used in the 4-week and 13-week repeated-dose toxicity studies conducted in our laboratory between 2005 and 2008. The mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum range values for hematology and serum biochemistry parameters, data of absolute & relative organ weights, and the difference between sexes and study duration of week 4 versus 13 week are presented. The studies were conducted according to “the standards of Toxicity Study for Medicinal Products” (2005) and The KFDA Notification No. 2000-63 ‘Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)’ (2000) issued by KFDA. These data could be used as reference material of Sprague-Dawley rats by conducting the studies to evaluate the toxicological profile of pre-clinical toxicity studies.

The reinforced concrete lining in the hydraulic pressure tunnel tends to crack during the water-filling process. The lining will be detached from the surrounding rock due to the inner water exosmosis along concrete cracks. From the previous research achievements, the cohesive element is widely adopted to simulate the concrete crack but rarely adopted to simulate the lining-rock interface. In this study, the zero-thickness cohesive element with hydro-mechanical coupling property is not only employed to simulate the traditional concrete crack, but also innovatively introduced to simulate the lining-rock interface. Combined with the indirect-coupled method, the hydro-mechanical coupling algorithm of the reinforced concrete lining in hydraulic pressure tunnels is proposed and implemented in the finite element code ABAQUS. The calculated results reveal the cracking mechanism of the reinforced concrete lining, and match well with the observed engineering phenomenon.

We take formulate structure from motion as a learning problem, and propose an end-to-end learning framework to calculate the image depth, optical flow, and the camera motion. This framework is composed of multiple encoder-ecoder networks. The key part of the network structure is the FlowNet, which can improve the accuracy of the estimated camera ego-motion and depth. As with recent studies, we use an end-to-end learning approach with multi-view synthesis as a variety of supervision, and proposes multi-view consistency losses to constrain both depth and camera ego-motion, requiring only monocular video sequences for training. Compared to the recently popular depth-estimation-networks using a single image, our network learns to use motion parallax correction depth. Although MuDeepNet training requires the use of two adjacent frames to obtain motion parallax, it is tested by using a single image. Thus, MuDeepNet is a monocular system. The experiments on KITTI dataset show our MuDeepNet outperforms other methods.

Retroperitoneal fibrosis is a slowly progressing syndrome that is a part of a systemic fibrosing disease. Most causes are idiopathic, whereas the remainder are associated with methysergide ingestion, malignancy, or aneurysm of abdominal aorta. The pathogenesis is unclear, but the evidences supporting systemic autoimmune process are present, i.e. the apprearance of autoimmune antibodies, especially antinuclear antibody, positive direct or indirect Coombs' test, and the association with immune thrombocytopenia. Effective treatment with corticosteroid is another suggestion of autoimmune nature of this disease. We experienced a case of retroperitoneal fibrosis with immune thrombocytopenic purpura and positive antinuclear antibody. A 44-years old man who was in splenectomy state due to immune thrombocytopenic purpura for 15 years visited us for obstructive uropathy caused by retroperitoneal fibrosis. He was treated with double J catheter insertion in both ureters, and oral medication of corticosteroid and tamoxifen. Renal failure and thrombocytopenia was improved after treatment and the retroperitoneal fibrotic mass size decreased.
The effect of HCP on the formation of twin boundaries and dislocations in Ni–Co alloys

In this study, molecular dynamics (MD) was used to simulate the rapid solidification process of Ni47Co53 and Ni48Co52 alloys at a cooling rate of 1012 K/s. The effects of HCP on the formation of twin boundaries and dislocations in two Ni–Co alloys are studied. It is found that the difference of HCP clusters is the main effect that producing discrepancies on microstructure of two alloys. The number of HCP clusters accounted for 9.23% in Ni47Co53 alloy. They are regularly arranged to form the number of single-layer twin boundaries, and each twin boundary ends in a dislocation. The FCC and HCP structures coexist in the same atomic layers, which is easy to create dislocations. The relatively standard FCC crystal and only 0.32% HCP clusters are formed in Ni48Co52 alloy at 300 K. That small amount of HCP clusters are dispersed on the surface, and cause the formation of dislocation in the border with FCC clusters.

For the quality control of Leonuri Herba, alkaloid compound, leonurine, was isolated from the MeOH extract of Leonurus sibiricus L. (Labiatae) and identified by the spectroscopic analysis. A quantitative analysis of leonurine using HPLC method showed that the average contents were $0.124{\pm}0.065%$ in 34 samples collected throughout the regions of Korea.

The Acanthopanax genus belonging to the Araliaceae family is widely used as a traditional medicine having tonic and sedative effects. For the quality control of Acanthopanacis Cortex, lignan compound, acanthoside D, was isolated from the MeOH extract of Acanthopanax sessiliforum Seeman. (Araliaceae) and identified by the spectroscopic analysis. A quantitative analysis of acanthoside D using HPLC method showed that the average contents were $0.081{\pm}0.058%$ in 39 samples collected throughout the regions of Korea.

Chlamydophila psittaci is an important intracellular pathogen. Persistent infection is an important state of the host-parasite interaction in this chlamydial infection, which plays a significant role in spreading the organism within animal populations and in causing chronic chlamydiosis and serious sequelae. In this study, a C. psittaci persistent infection cell model was induced by penicillin G, and real-time quantitative PCR was used to study the transcriptional levels of 10 C. psittaci genes (dnaA, dnaK, ftsW, ftsY, grpE, rpsD, incC, omcB, CPSIT_0846, and CPSIT_0042) in acute and penicillin-G-induced persistent infection cultures. Compared with the acute cultures, the penicillin-G-treated cultures showed a reduced chlamydial inclusion size and a significantly decreased number of elementary body particles. Additionally, some enlarged aberrant reticulate body particles were present in the penicillin- G-treated cultures but not the acute ones. The expression levels of genes encoding products for cell division (FtsW, FtsY) and outer membrane protein E encoding gene (CPSIT_0042) were downregulated (p < 0.05) from 6 h post-infection onward in the persistent infection cultures. Also from 6 h post-infection, the expression levels of DnaA, DnaK, IncC, RpsD, GrpE, and CPSIT_0846 were upregulated (p < 0.05); however, the expression level of OmcB in the persistent infection was almost the same as that in the acute infection (p > 0.05). These results provide new insight regarding molecular activities that accompany persistence of C. psittaci, which may play important roles in the pathogenesis of C. psittaci infection.
