SiC nanorod has been synthesized directly on Si using CVD method. Ni was used for liquid catalyst during growth, and HMDS was used for source materials. Growth temperature and time effected grown nanorod’s diameter by growth rate. Deactivation was occurred at high source gas concentration. From the cross-sectional SEM image, SiC nanorod growth was divided two regions because of lateral VS growth effect. SiC nanorod was grown with uniaxial direction and highly crystalline phase.
상황버섯(Phellinus linteus)으로부터 Ergosterol의 분리

상황버섯을 80% MeOH 용액으로 추출하고, 추출물을 EtOAc, n-BuOH 및 물로 분배, 추출하였다. 이 중 EtOAc 분획을 silica gel 및 octadecylsilica gel(ODS) column chromatography로 정제하여 1종의 sterol 화합물을 분리하였다. 화합물의 화학구조는 NMR, MS 및 IR 등의 스펙트럼 데이터를 해석하여, ergosta-7,22E-diene-3β,5α,6β-triol(cerevisterol, 1)로 동정하였다. 이 화합물은 상황버섯에서 처음 분리 보고 되었다. Phellinus linteus was extracted with 80% aqueous MeOH, and the concentrated extract was partitioned with EtOAc, n-BuOH and H_(2)O. The repeated silica gel and ODS column chromatographies of the EtOAc fraction led to the isolation of one sterol. From the result of spectral data including NMR, MS and IR, the chemical structure of the sterol was determined as ergosta-7,22E-diene-3β,5α,6β-triol (cerevisterol, 1). Compound 1 was isolated from the Phellinus linteus for the first time in this study.

Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound in red wine that has anti-oxidant and cardioprotective effects in animal models. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) play key roles in foam cell formation and atherosclerosis. We studied LPS-mediated foam cell formation and the effect of resveratrol. Resveratrol pretreatment strongly suppressed LPS-induced foam cell formation. To determine if resveratrol affected the expression of genes that control ROS generation in macrophages, NADPH oxidase 1 (Nox1) was measured. Resveratrol treatment of macrophages inhibited LPS-induced Nox1 expression as well as ROS generation, and also suppressed LPS-induced MCP-1 mRNA and protein expression. We investigated the upstream targets of Nox1 and MCP-1 expression and found that Akt-forkhead transcription factors of the O class (FoxO3a) is an important signaling pathway that regulates both genes. These inhibitory effects of resveratrol on Nox1 expression and MCP-1 production may target to the Akt and FoxO3a signaling pathways.
