        In this paper, deep trench etching of silicon was investigated as a function of source power (300~600 W), DC bias voltage (0~-100 V), O2 addition (0~29%). As increasing the RF source power from 300 W to 700 W, the etch rate was increased from 3.52 ㎛/min to 7.07 ㎛/min. The addition of O₂ gas improved the etch rate and the selectivity. The highest etch rate is achieved at the O₂ gas addition of 12%. The selectivity to PR was 65.75 with O₂ gas addition of 24%. At DC bias voltage of -40 V and C₄F? gas flow rate of 30 seem, We were able to achieve etch rate as high as 5.25 ㎛/min with good etch profile.

      • 보리등겨로 제조한 간장의 향기성분

        새로운 장류제품으로서 보리등겨의 이용방안을 모색하기 위하여 간장을 만들어 연구하였다. 보리로 제조한 간장의 갈색화는 점차적으로 증가 하였으며 완만한 변화를 보였다. 향기성분으로는 4-vinyl-2-methoxy-phenol, benzeneacetaldehyde, palmitic acid, 2-furancatboxaldehyde, methyl-9, 12-octadecadienoate, di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, diethyl phtalate, dibytyl-1,2-benzenedicatboxylate, 5-methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde, 3,4-dimethyl-1h-pyrazole, phenylethyl alcohol, dioctyl-hexanedioate, dimethyl-1,2-benzenedicatboxylate, benzaldehyde, methional, 2-methoxy-phenol, n-furfurylidene-3-methylbutyl amine, 1-furfuryl-2-formyl pyrrole, tetradrcanoic acid, 5-methyl-pyrimidine, 4-methyl-5-hydroxymethyl-imidazole, maltol, 5-(5-methyl-2-furanyl)methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde 순으로 높은 함량을 차지 하였다. For investigation of new utilization as jang-products, kanjang was prepared using barely bran. This study was conducted to investigate flavor components of kanjang during fermentation time. The optical density was gradually increased. Among the flavor components identified in kanjang made with barley bran, the contents of 4-viny1-2-methoxy-phenol was the most in quantity followed by benzeneacetaldehyde, palmitic acid, 2-furancarboxaldehyde, methyl-9,12-octadecadienoate, di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, diethyl phtalate, dibutyl-1,2-benzendicarboxylate, 5-methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde, 3,4-dimethyl-1h-pyrazole, phenylethyl alcohol, dioctyl-hexanedioate, dimethyl-1,2-benzenedicarboxylate, benzaldehyde, methional, 2-methoxy-phenol, n-furfurylidene-3-methylbutyl amine, 1-furfuryl-2-formyl pyrrole, tetradecanoic acid, 5-methyl-pyrimidine, 4-methyl-5-hydroxymethyl-imidazole, maltol and 5-(5-methyl-2-furanyl)methyl-2-furancarboxaldegyde.

      • ISC3를 이용한 서울시 대기질 모델링

        In this study ISC3(Industrial Source Complex Ver.3) model is applied to Seoul area (1) to evaluate the applicability of ISC3 by comparing the model results and the measured results under control of Seoul City Government and Han-River Environmental Management Office, and (2) propose the direction of future air pollution management of Seoul area by looking at contributing intensity of point, line and area sources, of which each has different dispersion characteristics, to the air quality. The results of the study, of which pollutant is SO₂ and the year is 1996, are summarized as follows. First, the model results are very similar to those of the measured, showing the regression coefficient(except 4 data of which errors are big) is 0.72 in case of 10 meters height of area source and 0.71 in case of 5 meters height of area source. Therefore ISC3 is judged to be applicable to Seoul area of which comprises of a variety of source types and topographically rolling terrains. Second, for Seoul area, total SO₂emissions are 31.4% from the point sources and the rest 68.6% from the area sources, while contributing weights are 17.39% from the point sources and 82.61% from the area sources in case of 10 meters height of area source, and 16.15% from the point sources and 83.85% from the area sources in case of 5 meters height of area source. Therefore the area sources impact surface concentrations much more than the point sources. Interpreting the second result in terms of contributing intensities which we define the ratio of surface concentration X area and source emissions, contributing intensities of Seoul area are 0.55 for point sources and 1.20 for area sources in case of 10 meters height of area source, and 0.51 for point sources and 1.22 for area sources in case of 5 meters height of area source. Thus the contributing intensity of area sources appears to be approximately as twice as that of point sources. Overall results show that the control of area sources is more urgent and effective than that of point sources in view point of air quality management of SO₂.

      • 신경병증성 통증 모델쥐 뒤뿌리신경절의 Nitric Oxide Synthase 아형 및 NADPH-diaphorase 발현에 관한 연구

        Injury to peripheral nerve somtimes lead to neuropathic pain. Nitric oxide(NO) is increased in the dorsal root ganglia (DRG) of neuropathic pain models, and L-NAME, a nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor, reduces neuropathic pain. However, it is not known that underlying mechanism of NO involvement in development and maintanence of neuropathic pain. It was found that there were three NOS isoforms-nNOS, eNOS, and iNOS. It is also necessary to investigate NOS isoforms in neuropathic pain. The aim of this study is to investigate NOS isoforms and NADPH-diaphorase expressions and underlying mechanism of NO involvement in neuropathic pain. The 5^th lambar (L5) DRG were obtaind after tight ligation of L5 an L6 spinal nerves for 7 days. Toluidine blue stain, immunohistochemistry for nNOS, eNOS, and iNOS, and NADPH-diaphorase histochemistry were performed. All specimens were observed under light microscope. nNOS expression was increased significantly in the cytoplasm of the DRG of ligated side at 7 day post-ligation (7D PL). eNOS expression was also increased in the blood vessel, a few neurons or satellite cells, and cell membrane of Schwann cells in the DRG of ligated side at 7D PL. iNOS expression was increased in a few blood vessels and cytoplasm of small neurons in the DRG of ligated side at 7D PL. NADPH-diaphorase expression was increased significantly in the neurons of the DRG of ligate side at 7D PL, but NADPH-diaphorase expressions were weak or absent in the blood vessel and Schwann cell in the contralateral DRG and the DRG of ligated side at 7D PL. It is suggested that NOS isoforms may be closely related to development and mantanence of neuropathic pain in order of nNOS>eNOS>iNOS.

      • 전두엽 상내측 신경교종의 수술 수 발생하는 운동보조영역 증후군

        Objective : This retrospective study was aimed to correlate characteristic neurologic deficits of transient contralateral motor weakness with or without speech disturbance(Supplementary Motor Area, SMA syndrome) after the resection of the gliomas in the superior frontal gyrus, especially with the extent of resection of the tumors. Method : Ten patients with medial superior frontal glioma, who underwent gross total or subtotal resection of the tumor, as well as, partial or complete resection of the spolementary motor area were studied. The following parameters were evaluate 1) tumor location 2) extent of resection 3) degree and duration of postoperative deficits. Result : Postoperative neurologic deficits were transient contralateral motor weakness with or without motor dysphasia. As a whole, postsurgical SMA syndrome occurred in 3 patients out of 10 patients with medial superior frontal gliomas(30%), who underwent gross total or subtotal resection of the tumors. Motor deficits were present in 3 out of 10 patients and speech disturbances in 2 out of 3 left frontal gliomas. Recovery of neurological dysfunction was rapid occurring between the 5th 14th POD and their neurological function returned almost normal in two patients. In the remaining one patient, who had preoperative mild motor weakness showed incomplete recovery of the worsened motor weakness and newly developed speech disturbance till 1yr postoperatively. Conclusion : The postsurgical SMA syndrome in patients with glioma in the medial superior frontal gyrus was not so uncommon phenomenon and well correlated with the extent of surgical resection of the supplementary motor area. Thus, preoperative awareness and warning about the possibility of the development of this charicteristic SMA syndrome is necessary.

        Mapping Submarine Bathymetry and Geological Structure Using the Lineament Analysis Method

        The Honam-Jeju, Korea-Japan, and Korea-China subsea tunnel construction projects have drawn significant attention since the early 2000s. These subsea tunnels are much deeper than most existing natural shallow sea tunnels linking coastal areas. Thus, the need for developing new technologies for the site selection and construction of deep subsea tunnels has recently emerged, with the launch of a research project titled “Development of Key Subsea Tunnelling Technology” in 2013. A component of this research, an analysis of deep subsea geological structure, is currently underway. A ground investigation, such as a borehole or geophysical investigation, is generally carried out for tunnel design. However, when investigating a potential site for a deep subsea tunnel, borehole drilling requires equipment at the scale of offshore oil drilling. The huge cost of such an undertaking has raised the urgent need for methods to indirectly assess the local geological structure as much as possible to limit the need for repeated borehole investigations. This study introduces an indirect approach for assessing the geological structure of the seafloor through a submarine bathymetry analysis. The ultimate goal here is to develop an automated approach to the analysis of submarine geological structures, which may prove useful in the selection of future deep subsea tunnel sites.

      • Taxonomic position and the species identity of cultivated Ganoderma lucidum in Korea

        Ganoderma lucidum has a long history for traditional medicine in Asian countries. However, taxonomy of Ganoderma species remains controversial, since it was initially classified on the basis of morphological characteristics. Recently, Ganoderma sichuanense was proposed as a re-proposed name for Ganoderma lucidum in China. Likewise, all of the Korean G. lucidum were clustered into 1 group together with G. sichuanense from China, when a phylogenetic analysis was undertaken based on the ITS rDNA sequences of the Ganoderma species. Furthermore, G. lucidum from Europe and North America were clustered into different group. Based on these results, re-consideration of naming Korean cultivated G. lucidum is needed.
