        당(唐) 태종대(太宗代) 반위(反胃) 치료법의 개발과 백제(百濟) 의자왕(義慈王)의 질병

        唐은 기본적으로 隋의 의료체계를 수용하면서도 醫術世家의 秘傳에 의해 분산ㆍ난립된 醫術의 독점을 국가의 의료체계라는 公的 영역으로 흡수하고자 하였다. 나아가 당은 그 의술을 민간에 유포함으로써 점차 의술세가의 독점적 입지를 좁혀 나갔다. 공익을 위한 의술 공개는 당 왕조의 존재 이유를 백성들에게 가장 효율적으로 각인시키는 방법의 하나였고, 이는 초기 왕조의 안정화에 기여하였다. 당 태종대 당나귀오줌을 이용한 반위 치료법 개발은 이러한 의료정책의 결실이었다. 蔣ㆍ許ㆍ巢氏 醫官들의 연구를 통해 이루어낸 새로운 치료 법은 즉위 초반부터 숙환이 있던 의자왕에게도 주목받았다. 644년 초 의자왕은 당에 파견된 사신을 통해 의사를 알아보았고, 그해 말 입당한 태자 夫餘康信이 당 태종에게 蔣元昌의 왕진을 요청했다. 당시 장원창은 益州道로 파견나가 있었기 때문에 당 태종은 그를 백제에 보낼 수 없었다. 결과적으로 태자를 보내 백제의 신라공격에 대한 입장을 해명하고 신라를 침공하지 않겠다고 약속했던 의자왕이 645년에 신라를 공격했다. 그해 고구려와 전쟁을 시작한 당 태종은 신라를 이용하여 고구려의 병력을 남쪽으로 분산시키고자 했던 의도가 무산되었다. 현재 학계에서는 백제의 신라 공격 이유를 명확하게 설명하지 못하고 있다. 645년 백제의 신라 공격으로 백제와 당의 관계가 악화되었다. 이는 신라가 대당외교에서 성공할 수 있는 여건을 만들어 주었다. 이런 점에서 645년 백제의 신라 공격은 의자왕의 질병과 의사 장원창의 왕진 요청 거부가 중요하게 작용했던 결과라고 할 수 있다. Tang China(618-907), which inherited the medical system of the preceding Sui China(589-618), attempted to reorganize it by absorbing various medical traditions which were then monopolized by hereditary medical families. The hereditary remedies and knowledge of medical specialists who were employed as government physicians were integrated into the state medical system, and the newly developed remedies were open to public. The development of Banwi (反胃, gastric disorder) remedy using donkey urine was one of the cases demonstrating the success of the early Tang medical system. The remedy, developed through a joint research by the physicians from three prestigious medical families in early Tang, was soon to be known to Baekje. King Uija (r. 641-660) of Bakje, who had been suffered from Banwi, dispatched envoys to Tang to ask to send Jiang Yuan-chang to Baekje in 644. The Baekje court seems to have regarded Jiang, a physician who participated in the development of new Banwi remedy, as the most qualified person to cure King Uija. Tang government, however, could not dispatch Jiang to Baekje as he was then working near Sichuan province, hundreds miles from Chang'an, the capital of Tang. As a result, King Uija missed a chance of being treated with the new remedy. Then Baekje, which had once promised not to attack Shilla by sending a prince to Tang, resumed invasion of Shilla in 645, spoiling Emperor Taizong's (r. 626-649) plan to mobilize Baekje's army in his campaign against Goguryeo. As the aftermath of this incident, the relation between Baekje and Tang was irreversibly deteriorated, while Shilla succeeded to consolidate the Shilla-Tang alliance which led to the fall of Baekje in 660. From the perspective of medical diplomacy between Baekje and Tang during the mid 7th centuries, Tang’s failure to meet Baekje’s request for the medical support might have had a grave effect on the Baekje’s decision to move against the Tang’s interests.       • S-344 : The Role of Skeletal Muscle Mass in Development of Metabolic Syndrome

        Introduction: It has been well known that abdominal adiposity is related with insulin resistance and greater risk of metabolic disorder. Skeletal muscle plays central role in insulin mediated glucose disposal of whole body, but we only know a little about the association between skeletal muscle mass and MetS (MetS). The aim of this study is to clarify the clinical role of skeletal muscle mass in developing MetS through using skeletal muscle parameters by body impedance analysis (BIA). Methods: 1,042 healthy adults aged from 20 to 75 years who visited Yeungnam university health promotion center from Jun. 2008 to Jun. 2010 were enrolled. 204 subjects who had prior MetS or chronic disease that can affect to skeletal muscle mass were excluded. After 24 months from baseline, the metabolic parameters were assessed and the development of MetS was diagnosed using modified NCEP-ATP III criteria. From the BIA (Inbody 720), we obtained skeletal muscle mass (SMM, Kg), body fat mass (BFM, Kg), and visceral fat area (VFA, cm2). Then, we had defined as follows; percent of skeletal muscle mass (SMM%, %): SMM (kg)/weight (Kg), skeletal muscle index (SMI, Kg/m2): SMM (Kg)/height (m)2, skeletal muscle to body fat ratio (MFR): SMM (kg)/BFM (Kg) and skeletal muscle to visceral fat ratio (SVR, Kg/cm2): SMM (Kg)/VFA (cm2) Results: Mean follow up periods were 28.7±5.4 months. Among total 838 subjects (46.9±9.9 years, M:F=477:361), 88 (10.5%) were newly diagnosed MetS. 5th quintile of the SMM%, MFR and SVR was associated with decreased risk of development of MetS after adjusting for confounding factors. Conclusion: Decreased skeletal muscle mass may play critical role in development of the MetS and not absolute amount of skeletal muscle mass but relative ratio to body composition may be more important.

      • 아산지역 PC방에서의 금연석과 흡연석의 공기질 차이

        This study seeks to differentiate between the air quality of the smoking area and the non-smoking area in internet cafes(or PC rooms in Korean slang) through the analysis of internet cafes around universities located in Asan-si. VOCs, HCHO, CO₂, and CO content of each area were analyzed. According to our observations, the HCHO content in the smoking area was 74.26ppm, 124.26ppm for TVOC, 688.58ppm for CO₂, and 2.80ppm for CO. On the contrary, in the non-smoking area, the HCHO content was 55.49ppm, 82.86ppm for TVOC, 606.18ppm for CO₂, and 2.32ppm for CO. This shows that the air quality between non-smoking and the smoking area do not have significant difference. As people are exposed and thus more interested about indoor air pollution, there are measures taken to clean the air indoors, but there are no relevant measures taken for internet cafes. Therefore, there should be measures taken in order to control ETS content, thought to be one of the main pollutants of internet cafe air quality, through various measures such as upgraded ventilation.

        기저질환이 없는 사람에서 발생한 Campylobacter fetus에 의한 재발성 심내막염 1예

        C. fetus 심내막염은 드물게 발생하는 질환으로 주로 면역능이 저하된 환자에서 발병하고 대동맥판을 침범하는 경우가 많으며 적절한 치료가 되지 않을 경우 치사율이 높다. 저자들은 기저질환이 없던 69세 남자에서 C. fetus 심내막염을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. 환자는 발열로 내원하여 시행한 혈액배양 검사상 C. fetus가 동정되었고 경식도 초음파 검사상 삼첨판에 증식증이 발견되어 심내막염 진단하에 ceftriaxone에 이어 meropenem으로 총 4주간 항생제를 투여받고 호전되었다가 한달 후 다시 재발하였고 판막부전 소견 진행하여 삼첨판 치환술을 시행받고 전신상태 호전되어 퇴원하였다. Campylobacter fetus is a rare cause of endocarditis. To date, only about 30 cases of C. fetus endocarditis have been reported mainly in the elderly with chronic underlying illnesses. Most cases showed tendency to involve aortic valve. This report describes a case of native tricuspid valve infective endocarditis in a 69-year-old man without any underlying disease. Despite adequate antibiotic therapy for 4-weeks, endocarditis recurred and leading to surgical valve replacement.

        Objectives: As interest in wellness tourism is increasing in Korea, we sought to propose a program with Korean Medicine Contents for eight resorts in Gangwon-do, which has forests and marine resources. Methods: The authors visited eight designated resorts in Gangwon-do, observed the facilities, and interviewed the people in charge. Questions and answers were asked and answered in the form of a questionnaire regarding any deficiencies in the interviews. Afterwards, the contents were analyzed and a Korean Medicine program suitable for each resort was proposed. Results: A total of 17 Korean Medicine Programs were proposed, of which the meditation/yoga program and diet/drink program tailored to each constitution were proposed to be applicable to all 8 resorts. The rest were proposed considering each resort's facilities, environmental characteristics, and main product programs. Conclusions: It appears that the ‘meditation/yoga program’ and ‘constitutional diet and beverage development’ sectors are programs that can be commonly carried out by all facility companies, and for this purpose, the Sasang constitution test and Korean medicine measurement within the resort in Gangwon-do are used to create a program linked to this. In addition, we believe that efforts to improve the program through verification of efficacy will be necessary in the future

      • 음식물 쓰레기의 퇴비화에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study were the food wastes composting, this study was carried out in the batch reactor with sawdust as bulking agent. The sample of food wastes for this study were collected fron the restaurant in our University. We obtained the results as follows : 1) During composting process, the highest temperature in the batch reactor was 55.8℃ after 5 days of experiment. 2) During composting process CO_2 and NH_3 were generated, after 6 days of experiment their concentrations were 20% and 640ppm respectively. 3) The volume of sample was reduced to one third in experimental period.

      • VHDL을 이용한 유도전동기의 속도제어

        최근에 VHDL을 이용한 ASIC 회로설계 기술이 개발되면서 전용 프로세서의 설계가 용이하게 되어 많은 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 본 논문은 VHDL을 이용한 ASIC 회로설계 기술을 유도전동기의 송도제어에 응용하는 연구로서 유도전동기 구동시스템의 제어부를 효율적으로 설계하고 one-chip으로 구현하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 유도전동기의 속도제어 방식인 슬립제어의 동작레벨을 기술하고 시뮬레이션하여 동작을 확인한 후, 회로를 합성하고 최종적으로 FPGA를 이용하여 속도제어 ASIC을 제작하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 유도전동기의 속도제어 시스템은 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 입증하였다. The ASIC chip design for the speed control of an induction motor has been a subject of increasing interest since an effective system-on-a-chip design methodology is developed. This paper investigates the design and implementation of the ASIC chip for the speed control of an induction motor using VHDL which is a standarded hardware description language. The presented system is implemented using a simple electronic circuit based on FPGA. The overall drive system for the speed control of an induction motor is verified through the simulation and experiment.

      • 사이클로이드 감속기구의 역전 방지에 관한 연구

        The overcentrode cycloidal gearing system has found application in planetary gear trains with difference of number of pinion gear teeth equal to one. This system is used in various application because of its compact size, less backlash, and high efficiency. But the manufacturing of the tooth profile of equidistant curve of epicycloid requires special machining technique. The use of special tooth profile such as trapezoid shape in the cycloidal gearing system makes possible mass production with the fine-blanking press technology. This gearing system with the simple tooth profile requires self-locking for its application, for example automobile seat back control system. This study finds the self-locking conditions and the transmission efficiency of the cycloidal gearing system with the trapezoid shape tooth profile by kinematic analysis and static force analysis.

      • 풍경식 정원과 근대적 공간인식 형성에 관한 연구

        This study is to look into the spatial cognition of modern space in the nineteenth century and it is on the purpose of understanding the character of the modern architectural space and of showing the modern architectural space connected with modern society and its everyday life. Especially, for understanding the spatial cognition of modern space, the Landscape Gardens will be analyzed. The reason for analyzing is that the Landscape Gardens are important theme in the nineteenth century and have great influence on whole European architecture and city. The Landscape Garden produce several modern spaces, that are 1) space of dynamic vision, 2) space of panorama, 3) space of spectacle. These spaces make modern cognition of space and pervade the space of everyday life in the nineteenth century. As a result, the modern spaces and their cognitions are in deep relation to modern society and its everyday life, and unique characters of that spaces are origin of the modern architecture and its space. A study on the effectiveness and convergency of damage measures for structural damage detection using the nonlinear parametric projection filter algorithm is presented in this paper. Damage measures are associated with the change in mode shape and displacement due to structural damage. So, five damage measures are presented in this paper. They are static displacement, curvature of static displacement, natural frequency, mode shape and curvature of mode shape. The static data are obtained by loading static load to the structure. And modal and dynamic data of a vibrating structure can be gained without dismantling the structure, these data are very useful in various aspects. But the results of detection are affected by the kind of damage measures to be used. The effectiveness and convergency of these damage measures on the structural damage detection using the nonlinear parametric projection filtering algorithm are demonstrated with the numerical examples.
