      • 圓孤形 變斷面 ARCH의 面內挫屈에 關한 硏究

        Accoding to need long span structure, Because structure members of the arch use to long member compare with the cross section area, Buckling will occur in these case, and that when member use varying cross section due to economize on materials, Buckling will occur rapidly and easily. Therefore arch is broken down owing to buckling after all ultimately. Some model of similar type Arches of varying cross section selects concretely and the critical load of these model obtains with Energy Mehtod and Simpson's rule for In-plane Buckling. We have to secure the safety factor for In-plane buckling of Arches in consideration from some angles. In view of the results above 1) The magnitude of critical load of each model is A>B>C>D 2) D Model has no effect of varying cross section in buckling 3) The arch which is constant radius is profitable varying cross section in case of α=75˚-90˚ 4) In identical span arch of constant cross section and varying cross section. The Arch is Stabile when RISE SPAN ratio is 1/5-1/4. 5) The critical load of all varying cross section Arch can obtain with the graph easily.

        The Dyeing processing, which can be a low-cost and easily application to production field was investigated by using some bathochromic agent and dyestuffs. The Δ L values and dye up-takes of threated several fabrics were investigated according to the dye concentration and pH of dyebath. The results were as follows : 1. The selection of bathochromic agent acts as important factor for improvment of bathochromic property of fabrics. 2. The pH of dyebath has a little effect on bathochromic effect. 3. In case of one bath treatment, the bathochromic agent has little effect on the improving bathochromic property of treated fabric. 4. The efficiency order of bathochromic effect is DTY + fila.> CVY > DTY and fabric structure is also effect on the bathochromic property of the polyester fabric.

      • Selection of Potential T Cell Epitopes by Determining the Binding of Antigenic Peptides to MHC on Antigen-presenting Cells

        β-수용체 효능약물((-)-NE), 길항약물 ((±)-propranolol, labetalol) 및 PDE 억제약물 (imazodan, KR-30045, KR-30075 등)에 대한 β-adrenoceptor binding 실험을 β_1/β_2 비선택적 radioligand인 (-)-[^3H]-DHA를 사용하여 실시하였다. Saturation 실험에서 β_1 및 β_2 수용체를 모두 갖고 있는 rat 좌심실의 β 수용체에 대한 (-)-[^3H]-DHA의 K_d 값은 1.5±0.43 nM, B_max는 22.0±0.9 fmol/㎎ protein 이었다. (±)propranolol, labetalol 및 (-)NE는 단일상으로 (-)-[^3H]-DHA의 결합을 억제하였으며 Ki 값은 각각 17.0±0.43 nM, 5.73±1.30nM, 1.57±0.95μM로 나타났다. 실험에 사용한 모든 PDE 억제약물들은 (-)-[^3H]-DHA 결합을 10^3 M의 고농도에서도 10%미만으로 억제했다. 실험결과, propraolol, labetalol 및 NE는 β_1/β_2 수용체에 대해 비선택적인 약물로 나타났으며, imazodan 및 산합성 PDE 억제약물들은 rat 심근에 있는 β- 수용체에 친화성이 거의 없음을 알수 있었다. Binding of the antigenic peptide resulting from antigen processing to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules constitutes a major event in T cell recognition of antigens. When they were incubated with potential antigen-presenting cells (APC), synthetic peptides bound directly to the surface of APC. The binding was specific for MHC molecules since it was substantially reduced by treating with anti-MHC antibodies. Furthemore, it was possible to render the peptides to bind only to the cell surface, by treating the APC with glutaraldehyde to block nonspecific internalization of the peptides. It was also shown that a peptide that elicited relevant immune responses and thus seemed to have T cell epitope(s) indeed bound to relavent APC surface through MHC molecules. The peptide, when analyzed theoretically by using an algorithm that had been designed for the prediction of T cell epitope(s), also appeared to have a potential T cell epitope. These results support that peptide binding assay employing whole cells as APC could provide a convenient way to determine potential T cell epitopes among a deiverse array of peptides.

      • FCT 8 : Lichen nitidus successfully treated with topical retinoid

        Lichen nitidus is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by a large number of asymptomatic skin-colored or erythematous millimetric papules. Topical or systemic steroids, topical tacrolimus, PUVA and NB-UVB may yield various results. Also, retinoids are thought to have anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative effects and there are a few reported cases of lichen nitidus treated with oral retinoids. However, there was no reported case that tried topical retinoid to treat lichen nitidus. A 51-year-old man presented with asymptomatic tiny flat-topped, flesh-colored papules clustered on both sides of abdomen for 20 years. Histopathologic examination showed typical features of lichen nitidus which is well circumscribed lymphocytic infiltrate closely confined to a widened dermal papillae, so called “claw clutching a ball” pattern. From these findings, we diagnosed this case as lichen nitidus. We tried topical retinoid on the right side and topical steroid on the left side of the abdomen to compare the therapeutic effects between two topical agents. After 3-months, the retinoid side had better response than steroid side, although flattening of papules and pigmentation showed on both side. Herein, we present a man with lichen nitidus who was successfully treated with topical retinoid.

      • Chromosome 11-Centric Human Proteome Analysis of Human Brain Hippocampus Tissue

        <P>Human chromosome 11 is the third gene-rich chromosome having 1304 protein-coding genes. According to the GeneCards, this chromosome contains 240 genes related to diseases, as it is well known as a disease-rich chromosome. Although there are many protein-coding genes, the proteomic identification ratio is rather low. As a model study, human hippocampal tissues from patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy were prepared to evaluate the gene-centric statistics related to the gene expression and disorders of chromosome 11. A total of 8828 protein coding genes from brain tissues were extensively off-gel fractionated and profiled by a high resolution mass spectrometer with collision induced dissociation and electron transfer dissociation. Five-hundred twenty-three of the proteins from brain tissues were determined to belong to chromosome 11, representing 37% of the proteins reported in the Global Proteome Machine Database. We extracted gene clusters from a specific biological process or molecular function in gene ontology, among which the olfactory receptor genes showed the largest cluster on chromosome 11. Analysis of the proteome data set from the hippocampus provides a significant network associated with genes and proteins and leads to new insights into the biological and genetic mechanisms of chromosome 11-specific diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jprobs/2013/jprobs.2013.12.issue-1/pr3008368/production/images/medium/pr-2012-008368_0004.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/pr3008368'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

        IgA 신병증에서 Haas의 조직학적 분류에 따른 임상적 예후

        Objectives:IgA nephropathy is a common type of primary glomerulonephritis and may present with a wide variety of histologic patterns on renal biopsy. IgA nephropathy may progress to end stage renal disease. But it is difficult to predict the prognosis of IgA nephropathy. Methods:In an attempt to identify prognostic indicators in this disease, the clinical data from 158 patients with IgA nephropathy were analyzed and compared to the pathologic subclassification proposed by Haas. Results: 1)The mean age of 158 patients with IgA nephropathy was 31.5 yrs(M:F=1:1.04) and there were 17 patients in subclass I, 5 patients in subclass II, 80 patients in subclass III, 34 patients in subclass IV, 22 patients in subclass V. 2)The significant correlation between renal survival rate and histologic subclass in 114 patients who were followed-up for more than 12 months was showed in order of I, II$gt;III, IV$gt;V. 3)Active crescents were a significant negative prognostic indicator in renal survival in subclass III, but not in subclass IV. 4) The presence of immune complex deposits in the glomerular capillary loops in addition to the deposits in mesangial areas was associated with poor prognosis in progression to end stage renal disease of IgA nephropathy 5)With a respect to clinical presentation, hypertension, serum creatinine of?1.5mg/dL, and proteinuria of?2.0g/day were significant negative prognostic indicators for renal survival but the presense of gross hematuria was not associated with increased renal survival rate by an univariate analysis. Conclusion:These results suggest that histologic subclassification proposed by Haas may be a useful prognostic indicator for the clinical outcome of IgA nephropathy, as well as the amount of proteinuria, serum creatinine level and hypertension at the time of initial renal biopsy.

        Acute uric acid nephropathy is most commonly ocurring in myeloprolifierative or lymphoproliferative disoders after chemotherapy. But we experienced acute uric acid nephropathy occurred in a patient who had only a history of diabetes mellitus, After the patient was fast, dehydrated, drank only alcolol, and poorly controlled diabetes, acute renal failure was developed due to acute uric acid nephropathy. We report a case of acute uric acid nephropathy with literature review.

        Genetic analysis of polyketide biosynthetic genes isolated from Streptomyces albus, a salinomycin producer.

        Sequence analysis of a DNA region encompassing the site of hybridization to actl, the gene for type Ⅱ minimal polyketide synthase (PKS) for actinorhodin biosynthesis, from Streptomyces ablus revealed three more complete open reading frames additional to the already found two genes, plausibly encoding β-ketoacyl synthase/acyl transferase (KS/AT) and chain length determining factor (CLF). The open reading frames (ORFs) were named salA, salD, and salE, from the upstream. In the homology analysis of the deduced amino acid sequences, SalA resembles the Streptomyces glaucescens Tcml, decaketide cyclase, SalD resembles acyl carrier protein in typeⅡ PKS, and SalE resembles the ActⅢ ketoreductase. The whole 4.4kb of DNA sequence obeys the same conservation pattern as other type Ⅱ PKSs. Therefore, we suggest that the 4.4 kb DNA from Streptomyces albus encompasses genes encoding enzymes for polyketide biogenesis in the organism and its organization is type Ⅱ. The exsitence of SalA, an analogue of the aromatic cyclase, revealed a relatedness of the 4.4 kb DNA with the aromatic PKS.
