        Inhibition of oxidative stress induced‑cytotoxicity by coptisine in V79‑4 Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts through the induction of Nrf‑2 mediated HO‑1 expression

        Background Coptisine is a natural alkaloid compound and is known to have multiple benefcial efects including antioxidant activity. However, whether it can protect lung fbroblasts from oxidative damage has not been studied yet. Objectives To investigate the potential inhibitory efect of coptisine against oxidative stress in V79-4 lung fbroblast cells. Methods V79-4 cells were treated with H2O2 (1 mM) in the presence or absence of coptisine (50 µg/ml), N-acetyl cysteine (NAC, 10 mM) or zinc protoporphyrin IX (ZnPP, 10 µM) for the indicated times. The alleviating efects of coptisine on cytotoxicity, cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, DNA damage, mitochondrial dynamics, and inhibition of ATP production against H2O2 were investigated. Western blot analysis was used to analyze the expression levels of specifc proteins. Results Coptisine inhibited H2O2-induced cytotoxicity and DNA damage by blocking abnormal ROS generation. H2O2 treatment caused cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase accompanied by increased expression of cyclin-dependent kinase (Cdk) inhibitor p21WAF1/CIP1 and decreased expression of cyclin B1 and cyclin A. However, these efects were attenuated in the presence of coptisine or NAC. Coptisine also prevented apoptosis by decreasing the rate of Bax/Bcl-2 expression in H2O2-stimulated cells and suppressing the loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and the cytosolic release of cytochrome c. In addition, the activation of nuclear factor-erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) was markedly promoted by coptisine in the presence of H2O2. However, zinc protoporphyrin IX, a potent inhibitor of HO-1, attenuated the ROS scavenging and anti-apoptotic efects of coptisine. Conclusions Based on current data, we suggest that coptisine can be used as a potential treatment for oxidative stress-related lung disease.

        The process of manufacturing enterprise takes the potential injury agents (moving equipment, machines and tools, hazards, etc). The industrial accidents due to these occasion happen unexpectedly. Safety management, in the manufacturing enterprise, are a moral action for worker, and improve the production efficiency and decrease the accident cost. In this study, industrial accidents are analyzed on the actual condition for 339 manufacturing enterprise, and select the 9 sampling enterprise. We simulate the relationship between accident cost and safety management cost. So, We suggest the safety management counterplan. The actual condition of the industrial accidents were analyzed by I.L.O. statistical analysis equations, which are expressed by (1) and (2). FR=N/H×10^6 …(1) SR=S/H×10³ …(2) Logical development of the alternatives for safety management counterplan based on the structure of industrial accident. We derived characteritics of the industrial accidents, and suggested a few counterplan of industrial accidents for manafacturing enterprises in Jin-Ju area.

      • 휴대용 핵종 분석기의 유용성 평가

        본 연구는 휴대용 핵종분석기를 이용하여 부산지역의 지역별 환경방사선을 측정하여 휴개용 핵종분석기의 유용성을 평가하고자 한다. 측정 대상은 부산의 중심에 위치한 부산진구 소재 송상현 광장을 중심으로 9곳의 환경 방사선을 측정하였다. 측정결과 부산역과 부산대학교를 제외한 대부분의 지역에서 환경방사선은 비슷한 결과를 나탄내었다. 검출된 핵종은241Am, 133Ba, 54Mn등이 검출되었고 핵종분석기에 내장된 핵종정보가 부족하여 알 수 없는 핵종들도 검출되었다. 실험에 사용한 휴대용 핵종분석기는 분해능이 8% 정도로 자연방사성 핵종과 인공방사성 핵종을 핵종별로 정확하게 분석하기 위해서는 제조사의 개선이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. This research aims at measuring the environmental radioactivity at each area of Busan using a potable radio-isotope identification system, and assessing the utility of the potable radio-iosotope identification system. As for the target for measurement, the environmental radioactivities of nine areas centered around Songsanghyeon Square in Jin-gu located in the center of Busan were measured. As the measurement result, the environmental radioactivities were similar in most of the areas except in Busan station and Busan University. The nuclides, such as 241Am, 133Ba, 54Mn and so on, were detected, and some nuclides whose identity was unknown because of lack of information built in the radiation spectrum analyzer were also found. The potable radio-isotope identification system used in the experiment had about 8% of resolving power, so for more precise analysis into the nuclides of natural background radiation and artificial radiation in each type, the manufacturer needs to improve the analyzer.

      • 진행성 폐 종양 환자에서 종양 내 OK-432 주입술의 효과

        Background: Intratumoral injection of OK-432 produced significant antitumor effects. There are reports that OK-432 was injected directly into tumor tissue on gastrointestinal tracts and HCC tissue, producing decrease in serum alpha-fetoprotein level. We adopted this technique for treating locally advanced lung cancer. The object of this study is to evaluate the local therapeutic efficacy, side effects of injection for treating symptomatic mass. Methods: Twenty lung cancer patients (13 males and 7 females) underwent sonography guided OK-432 injection. We analyzed relationships between response of OK-432 and response of skin test, histology and age. Pain that patients feel was evaluated by VAS (Visual Analog scale). Results: A significant decrease of tumor size was observed. The mean pre-injection diameter of the lesions was 54.7±11.3mm, PR rate were 15.0% (3/20) and minimal change (50%<tumor size decreased.) patients were 35.0% (7/20). The VAS score before injecting OK-432 into the lesion was 5±3, this was decreased to 2.5±1.5 (p=0.04). Object response was significantly correlated with skin response, adenocarcinoma, and age. Conclusion: A significant decrease of tumor size and pain was observed. So OK-432 is a valuable treatment option for patients with symptomatic lesion from advanced lung cancer who are not amenable to further therapy.

      • WIPI 기반 모바일 3D 게임엔진의 설계와 구현

        In this paper, we introduce the method for developing the mobile 3D game engine based on the WIPI platform which has been proposed as the mobile standard platform. Our game engine is designed so that it supports OpenGL-ES and JSR-184 that are mobile 3D graphic APIs. Our game engine has a mobile emulator operated on PC and SDK to support mobile programming in PC environments. Mobile 3D game developers can use the APIs at various levels. Also, the game engine is developed in modular in order to support various game genres.

        In addition to the development of functional cosmetics, technology to increase percutaneous absorption rate when applied to the skin is an important task. In this experiment, oleic acid was used as a skin absorption promoter, and its effect on transdermal permeability of adenosine was studied and analyzed using a skin-like membrane. As a result of the experiment, it was investigated that the permeability coefficient and concentration of adenosine are proportional to the content of oleic acid. This indicates that a high proportion of oleic acid is effective as a skin absorption promoter.

      • 찰성 및 메성 大麥의 品質에 關한 硏究

        國內外에서 蒐集한 찰보리의 栽培 可能性을 檢討하고 몇가지 品質特性을 메성보리와 比較하기 위하여 慶尙大學校 田作圃場에서 메보리 8品種, 찰보리 7品種과 맥주보리 4品種을 試驗栽培하여 分析한 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 收量은 찰보리가 메보리 보다 낮고 導入찰보리인 Wanubet와 Wafranubet가 各各 73%, 77%로서 標準品種안 창녕 보다 낮다. 2. Amylose 含量은 맥주보리, 피과맥 메성, 찰보리의 順이며 導入철보리와 國內에서 育成한 찰보리 간의 差異는 없다. 3. 炊飯吸水率과 밥白度는 찰성이 메성보다 높다. 4. Amylogram 의 粘性에서 糊化溫度와 最高粘度時溫度는 찰성이 메성보다 낮고 最高粘度는 활성이 메성 보다 높다. 導入찰성과 國內에서 育成한 찰성보리간에는 差異를 認定 할 수 없다. Changes in the grain quality were examined in 8 non-waxy, 7 waxy and 4 malting barley cultivars(Hordeum,vulgare L.) collected from Korea and the U.S.A. Yield was higher in non-waxy barley. Wanubet and Wafranubet collected from the U.S.A. were 73 and 77%, respectively, of Changyeong in the yield. Malting and non-waxy barley contained more amylose than waxy types. No significant difference was observed in amylose content between Korea and U. S. A. cultivars. Waxy barley showed a higher water absorption ratio and cooking whiteness than non-waxy barley. Gelatinization temperature and the temperature at which maximum viscosity was lower in waxy than non-waxy barley. The reverse was true ill maximum viscosity. There was no significant difference in the viscosity of amylogram between Korea and U. S. A. cultivars.

      • 향신료의 젖산균에 대한 항균력 비교 연구

        32종의 향신료를 물, 에탄올, 에틸에테르 및 에틸아세테이트로 추출하여 김치의 주발효균인 L. plantarum과 Leu. mesenteroides에 대한 항균력을 조사하였다. L. plantarum에 대한 항균력은 물 추출물에서는 caraway, cardamon, paprika, tarragon을 제외한 28종에서 항균력이 있었으며, 에틸에테르추출물에서는 arrowroot, paprika 및 tarragon을 제외한 29종이 항균력이 있었다. 에틸아세테이트추출물에서는 paprika 및 tarragon을 제외한 30종이 항균력이 있었으며, 에탄올추출물에서는 clove, paprika와 tarragon을 제외한 29종이 항균력을 나타내었다. Leu. mesenteroides에 대한 항균력은 물추출물에서는 caraway, cardamon, paprika 및 thyme을 제외한 28종에서 항균력을 나타내었으며, 에틸에테르추출물에서는 cardamon, cumin, paprika, tarragon 및 thyme을 제외한 27종이 항균력을 나타내었다. 에틸아세테이트추출물에서는 paprika 및 thyme을 제외한 30종이 항균력이 있었으며, 에탄올추출물에서는 cardamon, cumin, paprika 및 thyme을 제외한 28종이 항균력이 있었으며, 그 중 arrowroot, basil, garlic과 turmeric이 비교적 우수하였다. Leu. mesenteroides에는 항균력이 없으나 L. plantarum에는 높은 항균력을 가지는 것으로는 thyme 물추출물, cardamon, cumin 및 thyme의 에탄올추출물과 에틸에테르추출물, thyme의 에틸아세테이트추출물 등이었다. L. plantarum에 대하여 항균력을 나타내는 thyme 물추출물과 Leu. mesenteroides에 대하여 항균력을 나타내는 tarragon 물추출물을 첨가한 김치의 보존성을 조사한 결과 thyme 물추출물을 첨가한 경우에서 보존성과 품질면에서 양호하였다. 그 중 L. plantarum에 항균력이 있는 thyme 물추출물 첨가한 김치가 보존성 뿐만 아니라 맛에 있어서도 우수한 효과를 나타내었다. Antimirobial activities of 32 kinds of spices extracts on microorganisms related to kimchi fermentation were investigated. 32 kinds of spices such as allspice, arrowroot, basil, bay leaves, caraway, cardamon, celery, chilli powder, chives, cinnamon, clover, coriander, cumin, dill, fennel, garlic, horseradish, marjorarm, mugwort, mustard, nutmeg, onion, oregano, paprika, parsely, pepper, peppermint, rosemary, sage, tarragon, thyme and turmeric were extracted with water and serveral organic solvents such as ethylether, ethylacetate and ethylalcohol. Fractions were tested for antimicrobial activities against L. plantarum and Leu. mesenteroides. The extract of 28 kinds of spices except caraway, cardamon, paprika and tarragon by water extraction, those of 29 kinds except arrowroot, paprika and tarragon by ethylether extraction, those of 30 kinds except paprika and tarragon by ethylacetate extraction, and those of 29 kinds except clover, paprika and tarragon by ethylalcolhol extraction showed stong antimicrobial activities against L. plantarum. On the other hand, the extracts of 28 kinds of spices except caraway, cardamon, paprika and thyme by water extraction and those of 27 kinds except cardamon, cumin, paprika, tarragon and thyme by ethylether extraction, and those of 30 kinds except paprika and thyme by ethylacetate extraction, and those of 28 kinds except cardamon, cumin, paprika and thyme by ethylalcohol extraction showed strong antimicrobial activities against Leu. mesenteroides. Thyme extract by water extraction especially showed strong antimicrobial activities against kimchi microorganisms, finally prolonging shelf-life and enhancing quality of kimchi. The results suggest the possible use of the spices extract as natural preservatives for kimchi.

        The present the information sharing among the subjects was not enough in Airway Logisctics Industry, because each subject use the independent system. The Airway Logistics Network is suggestion, but the Airway Logistics Network dose not operate with efficient connection, because each subject attached to the connection among the internal system. If the RFID system which one of Auto-ID systems is introduce into Airway Logistics, an efficient management of Airway Logistics will be possible. In this Paper, we introduce the RFID system into Airway Logistics SCM system for an efficient management and an efficient information sharing. We also develop Airway Logistics SCM system with priority given to Forwarder which is occupy an important position in Airway Logistics industry.

      • 優秀學生 誘致를 僞한 弘報戰略(Ⅰ)

        The purpose of this study was to collect the basic data for building advertising strategies that induce the excellent cadidates to apply to Gyeongsang National University. Following questions should be answerded in this study: 1. In terms of the factors and process to choice both college and major, whole subjects and excellent group's general attitude and behavior trends. 2. The whole subjects and the excellent group's sources, quality and quantity, and credit of information about colleges and majors. 3. The whole subjects and the excellent group's sources, quality and quantity, the credit of information, and general attitude about GNU. Based the responses of these questions, we intented to prepare the following specific advertising strategies : 1. What's the critical factors that increase the excellent candidates' interest in GNU? 2. Which is the most efficient channel that trasfer informations about GNU to candidates? 3. To what extent the subjects' distorted knowledge about GNU, and How does correct these misunderstand? 468 subjects of this research were sampled based the distribution of high schools according to the ratio of candidates for the past years around West Kyeongsang Nam Do arear. For this study, after a pilot study, a questionnaire including 28items were constructed. The contents of the items were follow : factors that influence the choice process among the colleges and majors ; the college and major evaluating factors ; the sources, quality and quantity, and credit of information about GNU ; the contents that want to know about GNU ; and the reason that apply or not to GNU. Using SAS, frequency analysis and differencial test between sub-groups(sex, academic achievement level. and region) were performed. The major results of this study are: Both whole subjects responsed as follows : 1) The job opportunity was the most important reason of the entrance into college. 2) The choice of the major was prior to that of college. 3) Aptitude and job opportunity are more important factors than others in the choice of college and major. 4) They mostly depended on the professional institution for college entrance to obtain the informations about colleges and majors. Subject' opinions and attitudes to GNU were as follows: 1) They wanted to know the job opportunity, majors, and cut-off score of entrance test of GNU. 2) While the most important factor to choice GNU is a moderate school expenses, low job opportunities is the one that subjects not to choice GNU. 3) The major information sources of GNU are class mates, teachers, and superiors and families in attenance at the college. 4) GNU was rated as positively in following factors : school expenses and scholarship; various majors; relationship between superiors and juniors; and campus facilities. But in the arear of experimental and practical equipments, job opportunity, aptitude development, excellent faculty was rated very poor. By these results, specific strategies to attract excellent students to GNU were discussed. Future research tasks and limits of this study were suggested.
